Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the longest notes, and now it is time for you to post until the longest cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SLEUTH!
-
Congratulations on both shows and keeping your voice.
-
First post after Jane!
-
Congrats again, BK!
-
And now, I need to go to sleep because I want to (try to) get to work a little earlier than usual so that I can leave early. I'm going to meet my friend Hannah at the Olympia Little Theatre (http://www.olympialittletheater.org/) and help her create the audio sound board for the play that she's directing, Men on Boats by Jaclyn Backhas (which has no men in the cast). They open on Thursday and I'm really looking forward to seeing it. :)
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I was up earlier than usual. I must be at my doctor's office at 8:00 for lab work. On my way home I will stop at the market for Thatch's turkey.
-
And the word of the day is: SLEUTH!
My glossary says a play in which TCB gave a terrific performance! (His co-star has grown on me with his resourceful acting, but still seems like the physical type you would leave to go to TCB's character, rather than the type the wife would leave TCB for.)

I thought Equity had put a temporary ban on lab work.
-
DR George, Eric Shanower and his partner David Maxine are friends. I can never keep track of all his various Trojan War projects.
-
Happy to hear last night's show went well!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Morning, all! Congrats where congrats are due. Glad for happy landings and so-so future in-laws.
-
I am home from the lab work and the market. It's too cold a morning to be hobbling about the Upper West Side. I can now have my first cuppa coffee today.
-
So, did anyone watch Rent?
-
I watched about six minutes of it..... I don't care for the show so much.....it seems very pleased with itself and ticks off the boxes as it goes along to make it NOW and HAPPENING.....for its time.....but I am glad it was on for everyone who likes it....
-
Congrats to MR BK & Co. on their two shows!
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
Calm seas vibes for DR TCB.
Florida and wedding vibes for DR VIXMOM.
-
I shall have to contemplate the TOD.
-
Good morning!
-
Congrats to BK on two more successful shows!
-
DR George, I found your CD with the packages in the lobby this morning. Thanks so much!
-
Congrats to BK on two more successful shows!
Ditto!
You said it much better than I did earlier!
-
Enjoy your day in Key West, TCB! The weather forecast looks pretty good.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Congrats to BK on what must have been a delightful pair o' shows.
-
Huge vibes for DR Elmore and any of the rest of us facing immediate challenges.

I've always liked -- even loved -- Morricone scores, but as a general rule, his output has never taken a solid recognizable hold on my music loving awareness like that of other film composers.
The "Man With No Name" trilogy? Pure genius. He created a new world of sound, and I can't imagine those movies without it any more than "Psycho" without Herrmann. But after all of these years, they're the first to come to mind when I think Morricone. At the other end of his output, I loved "The Hateful Eight" but I won't remember a damned note of it until I watch it again. Loved "Cinema Paradiso", "Frantic", and others during the middle years, but I'd have to read through a filmography to jog my memory on a lot of the others.
-
So, did anyone watch Rent?
I had it on but I'm guilty of only paying it half my attention. I will watch my DVR capture sometime.
The Fox broadcast was rife with technical issues (including before and after the show, which is rather incredible), which -- in addition to the frantic camera work, challenging audio balances, completely batshit audience behavior, and, above all, the last-minute substitution of the final dress rehearsal tape for the live performance -- resulted in a real shit show. Pardon my français, but this was a "fail" in so many ways.
Since I've never seen the real thing, I probably need to watch that closing night performance of the Broadway run and perhaps see a regional stage production or two in order to better catch up with this iconic giant of the 1990s.

Lucky you. Love his stuff.
-
That’s such a fun score. Too bad that’s not enough to be a hit nowadays.
-
I imagine Carmen Cusack will sing the heck out of it, too.
-
Dance to the music of the ocarina...

You're Just In Love!

Looking forward to seeing Call Me Madam on Feb. 10th!

Today I saw "Can You Ever Forgive Me?" I enjoyed it very much. I'd like to read the book now.

Damn! :) He’s really incredible.

Page two? Really?
-
And where was I???
-
Well, I got eight hours of sleep, and when I got up I had to have two long telephonic calls, then Grant was back for the first time in three weeks so we caught up and by then I had to run to the mail place, then eat and proof (another forty pages) and now I'm home and I never had time to come here earlier.
-
But all that aside - page TWO?
-
And not very far on page two at that.
-
Like page one-and-a-half really.
-
REALLY?
-
I had a chili, cheese, an onion hot dog and side Caesar salad.
-
Listening to music right now.
-
Sending and receiving lots of e-mails.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Had a good lunch at the Palm today as part of Restaurant Weeks.
-
For $20, I got three courses of food, including a really good tomato-bacon soup, a New York strip and a slab of flourless chocolate cake.
I was happy.
-
But it was a stressful day at work with sloppy work turned in to me.
-
Plus, my work wife has been put on bed rest until the twins come. She's still working, but I don't know how long that will last. She'll go crazy.
-
Somehow the screen on my iPhone was smashed today. I didn't do it and don't know how it happened.
-
I'm not going to get it fixed. The cost to do that is more than the phone cost.
-
The upgrade is supposed to happen soon.
-
Tomorrow I need to find out what I need to do to get the acupuncture treatments for my allergies. Supposedly, they're covered in the insurance plan.
-
The allergies are out of control right now. Everyone around is suffering. People at work can't speak because of their allergies. Joy tonight could barely talk (a minor miracle given her gift of gab).
-
Three!
-
I'm now at home with a glass gin and some ice cubes swirling around in it.
-
The tinkling sound is wonderful. I call it gintinabulation.
-
The temperature has dropped 10 degrees already. The wind is blowing hard out there. it may not get down to -60, but it's going to get cold. After a day near 70. I think things are ready to bloom and this happens.
-
Watching the last 90 minutes of Reformation. The first 30 minutes are fascinating. Making various religious philosophies dramatic is hard.
-
I'm now at home with a glass gin and some ice cubes swirling around in it.
Whoa! (Hmm, sounds almost...good.)
Gin was as mother's milk to her. Besides, he's poured so much down his own throat that he knew the good of it...

I am sorry about all the suffering but chucked at the minor miracle.

We have things beginning to bloom here, too soon before the temps drop again.
-
I hope DR TCB had a nice day in Key West.

Yup, Eliza. You learned your lessons well.

Thomas Muntzer, a theological contemporary of Luther's but with a much more communist bent, has just rushed into battle bearing a flag that looks like the rainbow flag of the LGBT movement. And the bloodshed that follows is not a pretty sight. Neither are the scenes of hanging that followed.
-
Still listening to music and delightful music at that. But I'm about to go sit on my couch like so much fish. Grant did hang some paintings today - I've been after him for eight months to hang more - stuff just sitting against a wall in the den. So, three more will go up tomorrow.
-
But for a change, this part of the story is accurate.
The Tetzel character is seen killed by Muntzer. The real Tetzel died a broken old man whom Luther tried to comfort in his final days.
-
The problem with this second part of the drama is that it focuses less on Luther than the first. But it makes a great case for a follow-up.

When we lived in Ashland it was always mentioned in news reports as having the largest number of un-vaccinated children in the country. Shortly after we moved there was a small outbreak of measles and suddenly all the parents decided to vaccinate their children.
It seems Vancouver is not the hot spot. Currently there have been 35 confirmed cases and 11 suspected cases of measles. Apparently in the early stages it can be difficult to distinguish between measles and a cold or flu. I never heard that which is why there are so many suspected cases. Time will answer the question.
-
I still recall my sister being deathly ill with measles and at risk of losing her eyesight.
-
Good evening.
-
Busy few days lately.
-
Jane, I had a measles booster when there was a case of measles at my kids' school. I couldn't go on campus as a volunteer until I proved to the school nurse that I had a booster shot.
-
DR Elmore, is that OUR Ben Davis also in the cast of Call Me Madam?
-
The new security cameras showed an unwanted human visitor today. How nice that I could see who was at the door and not answer.
-
I think that Randy Rainbow song is probably his best yet.

You never had measles? Lucky you. When Bryan went to medical school he had to titer to prove all his vaccina6were were still protecting him. I hope they still are.

We like our security camera.

Dear reader Laura - the baby avatar is very cute.
-
Just listened to In Transit, the a capella musical. Ugh. Easy to see why it flopped. Not the a capella, but the really bad storylines. I don't want to spend time with any of these people and I don't care about what they're singing.
-
I'm now listening to the British musical Ann Veronica, now that I've finished the book. It seems to have missed out on the humor.
-
No wonder it didn't run for any length of time.
-
Can we get off this page?
-
One more post.
-
Four!
-
The wind is really whipping up out there and is supposed to last until 2 a.m. I hope I can get some sleep.
-
Right now I'm 70 pages into a new mystery and I'm enjoying it, but I need to take a break. My eyes are tired.
-
Time to bid all good night.
-
Dear reader Laura - the baby avatar is very cute.
It sure is 😊
-
Quick hello
-
We went to universal and played in the park all day then met the Vixter and Vixintended at their apartment and went out to dinner at a local Outback
-
Food not as good as the Roadhouse but it was so much quieter, much easier to have a conversation
-
Then we went back and hung out at their place some more before coming home
-
Tomorrow we have a day planned at NASA s nightly night
-
Hello, honey, I’m home!

You ate another forty pages?

I had a nice day in Key West. The place sees a bit homophobic for such a laid-back town.
-
All the shops in town were proudly displaying tee-shirts saying, “I’M NOT GAY.” Maybe I’m missing something.
-
I’m sorry. I am very tired.
-
Good night.
-
Hello, honey, I’m home!
Hi.

I am glad you enjoyed the day.

That's so cool! I wish I had known when I met him!
-
So, did anyone watch Rent?
I recorded it and will watch it eventually. I loved the filmed-live-on-Broadway version that was shown in movie theaters (and is available on DVD and Blu-ray).
-
DR George, I found your CD with the packages in the lobby this morning. Thanks so much!
You're welcome, Larry!

I'm jealous! I love his videos...including this one!

WTH?? Hopefully, there's some reasonable, non-homophobic reason for all of that.
-
Somehow the screen on my iPhone was smashed today. I didn't do it and don't know how it happened.
Oh, no! It's sad when replacing something costs less than repairing it.
-

I liked the music itself and fact that it's an a cappella show, but I didn't pay enough attention to (or maybe just remember) the story to have an opinion on that. ::)
-
Well...
-
...since we're so close...
-
5ive!!!!!
-
This afternoon, I went to Olympia Little Theatre to help my friend Hannah put the audio files that I had created from YouTube videos into the theater's computer.
-
Previously, she had worked with a similar sound board program, but not this specific program.
-
So, it wasn't difficult for her to continue with it when I had to leave.
-
But at one point, she called me about some problem that was preventing the sound from going through the speakers!
-
There wasn't anything that I could do while I was at work.
-
She said that she could call one of the theater's board members who knew the computer.
-
That person DID know what to do and so the computer sound board program was fixed!
-
Whew!
-
And now, I'm watching The Late Show with Stephen Colbert with his guest, Paul Simon.
-

I searched and could not find much about these shirts, just that they are sold in Key West.
