Well, you've read the notes, the notes didn't have a state of the union address, and now it is time for you to post until the union cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RATIOCINATION!
-
First post after BK!
-
To answer Jan's question from last night: sadly, I don't have a big cozy chair, an afghan, or a good book in front of the fireplace. It's across from my bed and next to my TV.
-
CD has been ordered!
-
Tonight, the Alpha Bet Caper (get it...A. B. C. ...see what they did there? ;) ) rehearsal will be learning the music. The one and only actual performance will be on Saturday, then we're done. I don't know what will happen with the show after this reading.
-
And now to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I wait to hear from Joshie about City Center today. After last night's invited dress for Call Me Madam, he may have some last minute adjustments. If that's so, I'll stay home.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Too much work today. And I’d rather be sleeping.

Too much work today. And I’d rather be sleeping.
Me, too!
-
Good morning, all.
-
A fitful sleep, and an epic dream. A classic, artfully combining several of my common themes. I’m sorry I don’t have the energy to attempt writing it down, if only for my own reading amazement sometime in the future.
-
Annabelle's nose was clogged again this morning. I washed the gunk out with warm water and a cotton ball, but she wouldn't eat her breakfast. She's being very affectionate, with lots of purrs, wanting to be held, and fluffing out the base of her tail.
-
Here's the trailer for my new one-person play, DICK POWELL, available in paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon and other booksellers.

I heard from Joshie, so I'll leave for City Center around 9:30.
-
Now Thatch is demanding attention and showing affection: he's grabbing my knee to be petted, butting my hand, nipping at my fingers and licking them, and rolling around the floor to get his tummy rubbed. I've been calling him my guardian angel because he follows me to the bathroom when I get up in the middle of the night and then leads me back to my bed, where he jumps up to sleep next to me after I've climbed back in. Yet, if I make a move to put my hands around him or to hold him, he ruins in terror.
I'm happy to know that with all of our sturm und drang last year, we've reached such a positive place.
-
DR Laura, how's Rex doing? Annabelle and Thatch want more photos.
-
Wednesday morning greetings!
Too much work today. And I’d rather be sleeping.
Me, too!
Me, three. And Richard, four! We were awakened just before 7am, me by the thunder and him by the lightning. It's supposed to rain here for the next couple of days. At least it's not snow...
-
Good morning!
-
I would love to be in NYC this weekend to see CALL ME MADAM. Instead, I've been looking at the Playbill from the Imperial Theatre for the week of September 24, 1951, that I rescued from my Aunt Jo's belongings when my cousin cleaned out her apartment.
-
Thunder woke me up last night, too, DR GINNY. Twice! Once at 2:20 a.m. and again at 4:15 a.m.
VERY LOUD.
-
Otherwise engaged......
I practice the word of the day - but it doesn't get me very far....so I don't do it for very long at a time.
-
As DR GINNY said - rain for the next couple of days. I have to keep my towels changed so that my furnace doesn't get wet....and hopefully contact the roof man to fix the leak around the chimney stack......
-
CD ORDERED!
I like this movie....especially John Saxon....and Carol Lynley, sort of....Tom Tryon just seems a bit old for his character some time...
-
Maybe it's time to watch it again.
-
Today I get my hair cut.
-
Tomorrow I see my new doctor for the first time.
-
I have never heard of a tortuous colon, and now I know someone who has one!
-
Thanks to MR BK for the report on the State of the Union.....

Otto Preminger was such a shit to Tom Tyron that he Quit acting a short time later and became an author of The Other and other novels

Good morning to everyone
-
Found out last night that one of my shows will be performed April 2020. I know that it’s 14 months away but I am so looking forward to it and perfecting it

Good luck with getting the problem fixed very soon.
-
I fell asleep fairly early last night. I was tired from the last 2 days.
-
DR George, I like your fireplace.

I have never heard of a tortuous colon, and now I know someone who has one!
Maybe I do. Why wasn't it mentioned before. At least it explained why itt was tender when I pressed on my stomach.

It is currently 21 degrees here.

Using up the last two slices of bread in the house, I just wolfed down a dee-licious homemade egg sandwich. No cheese or breakfast meats, just two eggs w/salt & pepper on toast with butter and a thin layer of mayonnaise and brown deli mustard on each side.
OMG, so good. I would make another, but...WE'RE OUT OF BREAD!!!
I've been trying to remember when I started with the mayo and mustard, but I think I was doing it as far back as the early '80s in California. Many will say "mustard?!?". Lordy, yes, bring it on. Nathan says that's a strong Pennsylvania Dutch (Deutsch) influence, as they put mustard on everything including eggs, which they pronounce "ecks".
This puts me in the mood to shop for a complete set of foodstuffs for Northeastern Diner/Deli Style breakfast sandwiches. But honestly, at home they can become a lot of work. Oh, it's easy enough to add a slice of cheese, but the simple fix above is quite enough.
-
Congrats to DR MICHAEL on his upcoming production.
Yes, I have heard that Tryon story....he wrote some books that I like very much.....I think my two favorites are The Other and Lady.
-
Those stories by Tryon are good stuff, which resulted in a couple of fine movies.
-
I had never seen THE CARDINAL until, literally, last year, and I do mean 2018. My friend with the projection system had acquired it -- I think it was a European Blu-ray -- and it wasn't a great restoration or transfer of that kind of film, but it was great fun to watch on his 128" screen. I'd had no idea what the story really was, and it wasn't what I expected. But yes, great music by Mr. Moross, and great fun.
-
As DR GINNY said - rain for the next couple of days. I have to keep my towels changed so that my furnace doesn't get wet....and hopefully contact the roof man to fix the leak around the chimney stack......
DR Jrand68, I'm probably forgetting something totally obvious, but I don't remember what the reference to towels is.
-
Great news, Michael.
-
On Sunday I'm seeing the closing matinee of the first regional production of A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder.
I already don't forgive myself for failing to catch it on Broadway, and I'm sure I'll only berate myself more after seeing it up here. Not that this one won't be good. But, you know.
Fortunately, it's in the hands of a superb cast and one of our very best directors and music directors. My local director friend and I had momentarily dreamed of being the first in our area to secure it, but we were committed to other projects by the time rights became available.
-
I love that CD DR CHAS SMITH - I hope the production is good
I put towels on top of my furnace to keep the leaking water from going to inside of it and shorting out my motherboard......since I am on my third one in the last 12 months, and the furnace man just discovered what was causing the malfunctions last month.
-
Right. Man, that's a lot to pay attention to. But I'm quite sure you're keeping up with it!
-
Site was unreachable for a while.
-
Dry furnace vibes for JRand.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I have a quiet day after having many busy days.
-
Elmore, Rex is still alive. He isn't grooming himself, so being a long-haired cat, he is terribly matted. He growls and scratches and bites when we try to brush him.
-
Leonard is a seven-month old kitten -- into everything. He tears around the house at times like a devil is chasing him.
-
That's great news, Michael!
-
Joshie and I had a great time playing with the Angels today. I learned all about last night's invited dress, we talked about the Call Me Madam production, and got through the first four numbers in the score for I Married an Angel. On my way home I stopped at the market so Thatch has more low sodium turkey. He and Annabelle want dinner.
-
Three!
-
I love the score for I Married an Angel, but the movie not so much.

I dislike mustard on anything, however, I do like a little in egg salad. If you like mustard, and make an egg sandwich, this kind of makes sense to me.

Poor baby.

I went to the gym with Keith this morning. I felt good and the time passed more quickly than usual.

How about deviled eggs?

I'm up, I'm up - I was actually up at ten-thirty after six hours of sleep, but I stayed in bed until an hour ago and have been printing out orders since.

That's great, Michael! Congrats!

DR George, I like your fireplace.
Thanks, Jane! I got it from my sister. I had a little space heater, but that was very loud. The sound from this is certainly noticeable, but much less so than the little space heater that I had...and it's much nicer to look at. :)

Anytime that my sister or mom make deviled eggs and there are some left over to take home, I take some and make egg salad sandwiches with them. Delish! ;D
-
Michael: Are we to be privileged to know the name of the play and where it is to be performed?
-
Why is my post shifted so far to the right?
-
Oh. Now it isn't.
-
I'm like Thatch and Annabelle - it's time to put on the feedbag.
-
I finished listening to Die Schöne und das Biest . Started on the ST of Legrand's score to Demy's Peu d'âne (Donkey Skin). It's the third movie they did together. Not sung-through like Les Parapluies de Cherbourg and less singing than Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, but much more varied and eclectic. He mixes jazz , pop, baroque quite humorously.

Well, this is a funny coinkydink! Last week, I was telling a co-worker about BK's "Outside the Box" web series, and gave him an MP4 file of the first episode about the musical version of The Miracle Worker with Beth Leavel (he was off the last couple of days, so I haven't had time yet to ask him how he liked it). Anyway, I'm now listening to the new Broadway cast recording of The Prom, also with Beth Leavel, and she has a song called, "It's Not About Me." Well, the first two stanzas are:
I wanna tell the people
Of whatever this town's called
I know what's going on here
And frankly, I'm appalled
I read three quarters of a news story
And knew I had to come
And unless I'm doing "The Miracle Worker"
I'm won't play blind, deaf and dumb!
I wonder if the lyricist just happened to come up with that on his own, or if he wrote it because he had seen BK's video with Beth Leavel, or if Beth suggested that. :))
-
He absolutely saw it. Everyone saw it. There are no coincidences.
-
I refused to watch the State of the Union address last night, but I'm getting bits of it on tonight's news. Does this orange moron squatting in the White House even recognize the fact that his ugly rhetoric and the faux piety of his SOTU address are poles apart?

No.

It's Howdy Doody Time!
-
I shall now be on my way to sup with the Jones's.
-
I'm now leaving work to go to the first and only music rehearsal for the reading on Saturday. I think I'll be able to leave early because I'm only in a couple of songs (that I know of). It's my understanding that people who have more to sing will have to stay longer.
Be back later.

Yes, mustard in those too.
-
Why is my post shifted so far to the right?
I have no clue why it does that sometimes.
-
I had fun chatting on the phone with a friend who is organizing a visit, with her husband and another couple, to us in July.
-
Just finished That Forsyte Woman. Meh.
-
I ushered tonight for the Glenn Miller Orchestra. What fun. The music was great. The audience, mostly elderly, loved every note.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!
-
What is this page four malarkey?
-
I'm just getting keyed up and I should be headed to bed.
-
I see another long day ahead with work being particularly no fun again.
-
So, I'll say good night.
-
I ushered tonight for the Glenn Miller Orchestra. What fun. The music was great. The audience, mostly elderly, loved every note.
Sounds like fun.
-
Back from a fun dinner with the Jones's - Numero Uno pizza and salad, the homemade chocolate cake for dessert.
-
That sounds delicious. How was the cake?
-
I am really craving a good chocolate cake right now.
-
I am about to read "The Hate U Give". Has anyone both read and seen it? I am thinking maybe I should just watch the movie with Keith.
-
Gratuitous Post #100!!

I'm home and have been for a while.
-
Oh, you're home and you have been for a while, eh? Certainly you have not been HERE, oh, no, certainly you have not been HERE.
-
Hi, Jane.
-
Revising posts won't help you.
-
The only thing that will help you is making 150 posts and three Hail Marys.
-
Oh, you're home and you have been for a while, eh? Certainly you have not been HERE, oh, no, certainly you have not been HERE.
I have been ketchuping on the posts after ketchuping on my e-mails, and I was texting with a friend.
-
Revising posts won't help you.
Fine...post re-updated.
;)
-
Well, I was able to leave the rehearsal after a couple of hours, so I'm in more than two songs, but I don't gave to sing every song.
-
Most are well written, but I think some of the better ones really aren't 4th grade kinds of songs.
-
The main character is supposed to be in the 4th grade, but one of the songs is about algebra.
-
Are 4th graders really learning about algebra now?
-
And another song is musically beautiful, but the lyrics and music are much too sophisticated to be sung by a 4th grader. :-\
-
And I'll admit a couple of songs just don't make sense to me.
-
I do not profess to understand page four.
-
Listening to the wonderful flute player Hubert Laws do Simon and Garfunkel.
-
Good evening.
-
Page 4? Really?
-
I left in a hurry last night.
-
I suddenly felt really sick.
-
One more post.
-
Page 5
-
At last!
-
Anyway, last night I quickly turned out the lights and closed my eyes; and I was out like a trout.
-
I felt fine when I woke up.
-
Today was Nick’s doctor’s appointment
-
A day I dread almost as much as he does.
-
I found out that the reading is going to be on Sunday at 6:00. I thought that it was going to be on Saturday.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Hi, George.
-
Anyway, Nick has two disks that are pressing together.
-
And he has arthritis in his knees on his back legs.
-
Oh, no!
-
~~~Vibes of All Kinds for DC Nicky!!~~~
~~~Vibes of All Kinds for DC Nicky!!~~~
Thank you, but he is almost 20 years old
-
~~~Vibes of All Kinds for DC Nicky!!~~~
Thank you, but he is almost 20 years old
True, but why not? :)
-
He is actually doing quite well.
-
He is actually doing quite well.
That's great!
-
And they brushed all the knots out of his back and shaved his tummy.
-
He may forgive me some day!
-
He looks fantastic.
-
Well, good night, George.
