Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the shank of the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the shank of the cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: WELLSPRING!
-
First post after BK!
-
Today, I go back to work after my one day off. Even though it's one day, it's always weird coming back after a day off during the week.
-
And now, bed time.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Well, the pains I had yesterday morning in my lower left back are back. Bt noon yesterday they had eased up, and by late afternoon they were gone. I got this morning around 4:00am and I felt fine. At 6:45 I could barely move, so I think it's a pinched nerve. I don't like it.
-
I must be at City Center for a pre-recording session for The New Yorkers about recording cuts.
-
I had a doozy of a dream: it was in my parents' house I grew up, the Middletown OH of the 1970s, Germantown OH, and Manhattan. I was baking brownies from a box of brownie mix, I went to see Dr Aimee Richmond - our family doctor in the 1970s - and wrote a check for $28.00. Before I left, I asked her if my current sinus problem was an allergy to the cats. My mother picked me up, and I told here I had to be at City Center by noon. Back at the house, I made egg salad, showed my mother the brownies, and she said something like "that box mix was older than the hills."
We were in the car, parked, and my mother was staring out at Germantown dam. I was telling her to wake up; I had to get to City Center.
-
Good morning
-
I am excited about the New Yorkers recording
-
Out Internet has been acting up,it keeps disconnecting from all our devices. Very annoying
-
BK what did you think about the ending of Safe? I thought the final villian was implausible considering all that went before
-
Vixdad found MCH's accent inconsistent
-
Good morning, all.
-
I had an interesting dream, too, a weird one (as opposed to all my other weird ones?) that I shan't try to describe. But, perhaps like DR Elmore's, it was just different enough from the "norm" to cause me to say: weird.
-
The pain comes and goes, so I think it's a nerve. When I got out of my computer chair to clean the litter, I was fine, When I stood up after cleaning the litter, it was an ordeal standing upright. Annabelle and I made our patrol and she wanted to play tag aka I run, you chase. If it's a nerve, it means I'm not walking up and down steps enough. I must rectify this.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I, too, am excited about that New Yorkers recording.
-
I had work dreams. Boring.
-
One of my best friends from college is coming to town. Taking the day off Friday. Jim decided he wanted to see the missions, which I think will be fun. We’ve got a fairly decent year for bluebonnets, and they should be in full bloom st the missions.
-
You can drive along the river from mission to mission on bicycle. It’s about 10 miles total from the first mission to the fourth. But i think we’re going by car.
-
Good morning!
-
I too am looking forward to The New Yorkers recording.
-
Pain vibes for DR ELMORE.
The Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream is your body telling you that changing something in your diet will improve your health greatly and that it is something in the physical realm within your power that is causing your pain.....your body is also reminding you that you are NOT 21 years old anymore even though your mind has a different idea.....
-
DR JOHN G thanks for the Carol Burnett report. Her Lucy story reminded me of this:
On the first day that Lucy drove onto the RKO lot, now named Desilu Gower....the guard was very flustered to see her. He was not sure if he should call her Mrs. Arnaz or Miss Ball....so he fumfered a bit and then came out with: "Good morning, Mrs. Arballs."

That Dream-O-Matic 6000 is amazing! Does this mean I should double that order of chocolate fudge?
-
I must change the light bulbs in the kitchen ceiling. Pray for Rosemary's baby.

Let’s move on...
-
Two!
-
Definitely double the order of fudge DR ELMORE.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY - Do you have a favorite among the Golden Age of Broadway newspaper reviewers?
-
Definitely double the order of fudge DR ELMORE.
;D ;D ;D

The bulbs are changed and Thatch is happy to have the ladder back. I store it in a cul de sac created by the bookcases next to my bed. He like to perch on the ladder steps and watch the parade.

Can you walk it? I would enjoy that.
-
DR elmore I am glad you have safely changed the lightbulbs.
-
Wednesday morning greetings!
The bulbs are changed...
Whew, I was holding my breath and hoping we weren't going to have to call 9-1-1!
-
I'm just checking in here before I go to the first of 2 events today at the library where my career began. First up, a discussion of the book Lab Girl, which my other group read some time ago. Hope I remember enough to contribute to the conversation. Later this afternoon we'll go back for the geology professor's monthly national park lecture. Today's topic is Grand Canyon.

I know.
-
Good morning.
-
I overslept by an hour (or more). I woke up with Nick yelling at me.
-
Our pre-spring heat wave is probably in its last day. It may reach the seventies just as Spring arrives.
-
The skies are a beautiful shade of blue!
-
Today is the old actors lunch. I should probably wear a nametag so they remember who I am.
-
We are going to Hank's Tavern. So, today will be pizza for me.
-
I suppose I could switch off to a hamburger or a sandwich, but pizza means leftovers.
-
I didn't sleep very well for most of the night. I fell into a really deep sleep around 6:30.
-
after two cups of coffee, I still feel like I was drugged.
-
I should be fine once I get out of the shower.
-
Which, of course, requires me to first get into the shower.
-
Wednesday morning greetings!

I'm relieved we don't have to think up some "how many orchestrators does it take..." jokes.
-
BK what did you think about the ending of Safe? I thought the final villian was implausible considering all that went before
I agree. But that's what these series do - every episode has to have a bit cliffhanger and new potential villain, and then they always need the "wow" moment at the end, the final thing and they don't care how implausible it is. I found it ALL implausible after episode five.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY - Do you have a favorite among the Golden Age of Broadway newspaper reviewers?
I must say, I haven't read a lot of the Golden Age critics, but Walter Kerr, whether one agrees or not, was a good writer.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven or eight hours of sleep.
-
Our pre-spring heat wave is probably in its last day. It may reach the seventies just as Spring arrives.
Same here.
-
Today is the old actors lunch. I should probably wear a nametag so they remember who I am.
;D
-
When I was a teen I read a collection of reviews by Walter Kerr.....titled I think Pieces At Eight.... Even though at that time I didn't know anything about a lot of the shows, it was most entertaining.....
-
DR TCB I think that if you like hamburgers or cheeseburgers in general you should try a WHOPPER.
You can get any number of toppings or NONE and ALL....it is BIG and can be messy.....but it is a real burger. I always have mine with lettuce, mayo, tomato, cheese, onion, and pickles....
Sometimes I get the DOUBLE WHOPPER - but I really have to be hungry to eat that!
-
Page Three....and now I want a Whopper.
-
The new print files JUST went to the printers - obviously I won't have the books for Sunday because I've been told the print files were going Monday, then Tuesday, and if I hadn't JUST gone off on the person who's been stringing me along, I don't think they would have gone off today. And of course, no one calls me, including my gal.
-
You can drive along the river from mission to mission on bicycle. It’s about 10 miles total from the first mission to the fourth. But i think we’re going by car.
Can you walk it? I would enjoy that.
Yes, you can. There is a special bike/hike trail. And they’ve extended the River Walk to go past each of them, I am told. I haven’t done all of the missions in one day like this for more than 10 years.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY - Do you have a favorite among the Golden Age of Broadway newspaper reviewers?
I must say, I haven't read a lot of the Golden Age critics, but Walter Kerr, whether one agrees or not, was a good writer.
Agreed. His writing holds up today.
-
Favorite line in the phone session about the print files was: "Do you know what VIP author means? Do you know what VIP means? Right now it means Very Irritable Prick." Unfortunately, I think that went right over her head, being a Filipino.
-
Page Three....and now I want a Whopper.
And now I do, too!
-
I am home from my meeting with Joshie and Rob Berman about recording cuts. We begin on Monday morning at 9:00, and the recording will be on Ghostlight.
-
And I was also quite worried about changing the light bulbs this morning!
-

When I met him, I thought Martin Gottfried was a total ass, but in the 1970s his A Theatre Divided and Opening Nights: Theater Criticism of the Sixties were two of my bibles. They're still a lot of fun to read.

Me, too! :D

You heard it from the expert!

Funny how that works. ;)

I get the regular single patty, but extra everything else...lettuce, mayo, tomato, cheese, onion, and pickles (which is what normally comes on it). It's practically a salad, which means that it's healthy!

I think Laura might like this article...Swarms of painted lady butterflies fill the California sky during extra bountiful annual migration (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/good-news/swarms-of-painted-lady-butterflies-fill-the-california-sky-during-extra-bountiful-annual-migration/ar-BBUYLZv). :)

And now I do, too!
Me, three.
-
Nice article DR GEORGE. I'm about to plant my milkweed seeds just in case the plants from last year don't come up.
-
The service MR BK is getting from that publisher is unacceptable.
-
I have too much meatloaf left to go out and buy a Whopper today. Maybe I will get one on Friday.
-
I shall look for those books DR ELMORE.
-
I ordered a copy of OPENING NIGHTS.....looking at the list, it seems I have some books by Mr Gottfried......
-
George, did TAO ever do EVIL DEAD; THE MUSICAL?
-
I was thinking about ordering Chinese food for dinner when my neighbors Mark and Judy brought me a plate of their homemade shrimp chow fun. It was deelish!
-
Shrimp!!!
HA! That always reminds me of Cloris Leachman at Rhoda's wedding reception....of course everything was going wrong (Phyllis forgot to pick up Rhoda: "You know how long it takes to properly coordinate your accessories....") and she offered the appetizer tray to a midget and said: "Shrimp?"
-
Vixmom, I thought this story was going to be about you:

I remember that Shrimp scene on "Phyllis" as if it were yesterday. One of the funniest moments in all of television history, IMO.

Watching the last 20 minutes of The Last Detail. Great supporting cast. Gilda Radner had a 1-minute scene as a cult member. Carol Kane plays a hooker. Nancy Allen has a short scene as a party girl.
-
Happy Spring, y'all!
-
I think Vernal Equinox would be a great name for a cat.
-
How are you, Jan?
-
George, did TAO ever do EVIL DEAD; THE MUSICAL?
No, but it was something that we had looked at before. We mainly didn't get a chance to do it because the rights were so expensive compared to other shows. :-\
-

That was very nice of them.

I can't read that without paying $1.00.

The kitties' dishes are washed, and I need to fill the water dishes and Thatch's kibble bowl for the night. Then the three of us will settle in to watch Episode Two of the last BBC adaptation of Emma with Romola Garai. We tried watching the 5-hour Ivanhoe with Steven Waddington as the lead, but it was too dark, too murky, and I could not tell one actor from another.

I loved Garai as both Cordelia in Lear and in Daniel Deronda.

Starting to watch Free Solo, which won the Oscar for best documentary. It's fascinating and the photography is gorgeous. But it's a subject in which I have no personal interest in ever attempting, plus I do have a fear of heights, which the movie is working on. So, yes, it's taking me places I would never go, but I'm not making as much of a personal or emotional connection. I thought RGB, Three Identical Strangers and Will You Be My Neighbor were all much more involving.

I think I would enjoy that. We took a nice long walk on the River Walk, way past all of the crowds. I don't recall seeing any missions.
-
The mission trail starts several miles south of downtown.
-
Superm00n tonight if you get a chance to look.

She was a wonderful Cordelia, and I like her in one of my favorite movies, I Capture The Castle.
-
I can see Superm00n up there, but it’s veiled by a thin-ish cloud cover.
-
Yesterday was spring. Today is raining.
-
The two o'clock lunch didn't happen until four-thirty. Dino's Pizza - amazingly amazing.
-
But I had a surprise visit from Sami's mom - with Sami, who's here for spring break. Fun!
-

I'm going to try, but it's looking very stormy out there. Don't know if the whole sky will be covered.

That's nice. How is she enjoying college life?

I don't remember which way we walked. I read that the walk is 15 miles long.

The rains have started. No supermoon for me.
-
Had a nice Puerto Rican dinner of pernil (roast pork) with arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas) and yucca in a garlic sauce. Good stuff.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I had some things to do at home today, but no place I had to be. How nice! A relaxed day.
-
Dairy Queen is offering free cones today. The line outside the one I passed on the way home was huge.

Five!

Yesterday's TOD:
GRANTCHESTER
BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES
BONES
THE BRIDGE
THE TUNNEL
-
I'm currently watching SAFE. It didn't interest me until BK and Vixmom started talking about it. I don't think it's great, but it does keep your interest--at least so far for me.
-
I was a big fan of HUSTLE and I now like to see Marc Warren in other roles. I like him in SAFE.
-
Glad your favorite doggie is getting adopted, Elmore.
-
Hello, John G!
-
TTFN.
-
Dairy Queen is offering free cones today. The line outside the one I passed on the way home was huge.
I'd heard about that. I wonder if it's crowded at my local DQ...I just might have to see.
-
And so I shall. It's past time for me to leave work, so I'm off.
Be back later.
-
Watching the rest of The File on Thelma Jordon. It didn't hold up quite as well as it should have. Wendell Corey is too much of a sap, but Barbara Stanwyck is fascinating as always.
-
John, when do you go dancing again?
-
John, when do you go dancing again?
Next lesson is tomorrow night. I help my teacher Joy out with group classes she has. This month, it's country two-step, quickstep and Viennese waltz.
Then on Saturday I have a lesson with the other teacher, Esteban, who is pulling out my back teeth in his efforts to make me a better dancer with Joy. And Saturday night, it's dancing for fun.
-
Good night, all.
-
The rains have started. No supermoon for me.
I can't see anything, too early I guess. If I wake up later chances are it will be too cloudy.
-
Apparently it is not too early if you have the right view. I have seen some lovely photos of the moon on Facebook.
-

I saw it as I was leaving work!

I could also see it from my skylight up in my bedroom, but that has a screen over it, so it's not a clear view.

Nice.

Full moons in our Ashland home were very bright shinning through the skylight in our bedroom. Sometimes it would be difficult to sleep.

My skylight faces east, so I get the very bright morning sun...and since I'm NOT a morning person, I hate that. :P
-
Hello, Nobody!
Who ya callin' Nobody?? >:(
-
;)
-
I think Vernal Equinox would be a great name for a cat.
I used to have an ex-boyfriend who I called Venereal Equinox, but that is another story.
-
Anyway, since I get the morning sun, I sleep with a sleep mask to keep the light out of my eyes.

Hi, Tom. :)
-
George, the reason I asked about EVIL DEAD; THE MUSICAL is because Tacoma Little Theatre is doing it next season for their Halloween show
-
Anyway, since I get the morning sun, I sleep with a sleep mask to keep the light out of my eyes.
It took me several purchases, but I finally found one that really does keep it dark.

Cool! I'll definitely try to see that!
-
And since they are doing a Halloween musical, they couldn’t look at A CAROL CHRISTMAS for their holiday show. Apparently, that is their story and they are sticking to it.

How rude! >:(

Hey, it's Pearls and the Gimp! hows it going in Washington?
-
Anyway, since I get the morning sun, I sleep with a sleep mask to keep the light out of my eyes.

And less expensive than putting up blinds with a remote contol, something we talked about but never did.
-
how are my two favorite Washingtonians? course you're my only two!
-
Hey, it's Pearls and the Gimp! hows it going in Washington?
Another beautiful day in Starbuck country!

LA can't decide what it wants to be. Sun, clouds, sun, wind, clouds, rain, sun, make up your mind!
-
And how is life in la la land?
-
Hey, it's Pearls and the Gimp! hows it going in Washington?
Another beautiful day in Starbuck country!
Very! I walked to lunch today...and I didn't wear a jacket at all.
-
You didn't wear one what, clothes?
-
Jane, did you get in a long walk today? Or were you lazy like me?
-
You didn't wear one what, clothes?
::)
Previous post fixed.
;)
-
I thought the original was funnier. I'd would've like to see that.
-
Well, I am going to sign off now. Tomorrow is the big day of the week for new real estate listings, so I need to get my slumber.
-
Goodnight, jan.
-
Goodnight, George.
