Well, you've read the notes, the notes were released, and now it is time for you to post until the released cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GALVANIZE!
-
Dear reader jan asked where the HELL have I been? I've been trying to make her enchilada casserole but haven't actually bought the ingredients yet.
-
It's a lot easier to make if you actually get the ingredients.
-
Enchilada casserole sounds really good.
-
Also, don't bitch about the postings if you ain't there to contribute. :D
-
Do you make it with beef or chicken (or tofu)?
-
Maybe BK can post the recipe I gave him.
-
Hamburger.
-
Enchiladas sound good. :)
-
And I can't wait for the new Kritzerland CDs!!

Who is in the cast of the Off-Broadway musical?
-
I had to make enchilada casserole because I couldn't get them to role right. It's hard for me to give recipes 'cause I don't use recipes. I just add this and that without really measuring.

Weren’t Ann and Annie the ones that SIDESHOW was written about?

:o I didn't notice that. The listings are all added by contributors to the site, so someone has to notice the mistake (if it's really a mistake), and then submit an update. All contributions and corrections are checked by hand, so there's no telling how long it'll take to actually be fixed.

And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I need more sleep.
-
Hmmmm I tried to sign in several times this morning

I kept getting a message that my user name did not exist
-
Yes I typed it right

I was starting to think I had been excommunicated for not posting enough

But I perservered

And here I am

With absolutely nothing to say

Good morning all

Okay, so, guess where I’m posting from.
The car place!
Does HHW win the Trifecta, or what?
-
I’m having the snow tires taken off (YAY!!) and the car has been due for a rear brake job so that’s getting done too.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had planned to sleep in as long as I wanted, but two kitties with mischief on their minds and time on their hands had other plans. So I'm up.

I’m pleased to announce that the audio edition of my one-woman play, IDA: THE LAST LUPINO is now available for download via audible.com, Amazon and iTunes.
Kathleen Godwin delivers a powerful performance as Ida Lupino in the drama, which joins the star of HIGH SIERRA, THEY DRIVE BY NIGHT and ROAD HOUSE; director of THE HITCH-HIKER, as well as other films, in 1983 when she is living alone in her decaying Brentwood home as a virtual hermit, lamenting the break-up of her marriage to actor Howard Duff.
Enhanced with music and sound effects, IDA: THE LAST LUPINO is a vivid, often witty, portrait of a woman who conquered a man's world.

I must clean up the huge noisy mess that got me out of bed around 8:00, clean the litter, and tidy the apartment before I run a couple of errands. Then I hope to finish up the choral arrangement today and tomorrow, so I can post it to San Francisco.
-
I watched STAN & OLLIE last night.
I thought that Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly were superb. There WERE Laurel and Hardy.
On the other hand, although well made, I found the movie rather depressing.
Yes, it deals with the comic duo at the end of their careers when Hardy had heart problems and both men had money issues, but there was no "joy" in the film.
A movie about Laurel and Hardy should not leave you sad when it's over.
-
Vibes for DR JOHN G.....car and doctor test.
Rear Brake vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
Lots of things happening at HHW.
I shall order a CD when they become live on Kritzerland, I forget how to do it the other way.
-
My sister is enjoying her visit to Old Blighty. I think today she is going to visit the family castle.
-
I received not ONE email overnight. So I sent myself an email from another account to make sure it was working .... and it was.
-
We're going to the moon again within the next 5 years. I know who I want to send there.
-
Long day yesterday. Today will be, too. But last night was surprisingly great, and just what the doctor ordered.
Following a grueling SHREK rehearsal, I attended a 4k screening of ON THE WATERFRONT at the Bedford Playhouse. I’m here to tell you that as many times as I’ve seen it over the years, it has never had this impact. Not ever. There is so much to be said for watching a film under ideal conditions.
Both image and sound were perfection, and the score has never sounded so magnificent. A powerful movie, overall, if you haven’t sat in front of it in a while. And what a lesson in acting.
Mr. Harris wasn’t there last night, but John Farr, the gentleman who curates this series of classic movies, is a fine host who always manages to teach me things I didn’t know. Fine evening all around.
-
The sun is bright this morning. I had to put the windshield screen in my window in the computer room.
-
Yesterday went really well. We began with "Say It With Gin" and went on to the Overture and "Please Don't Make Me Be Good." Robin came in and recorded that and her overdubs in "Take Me Back To Manhattan" and "Let's Fly Away." We also recorded Ruth's track for "The Physician." In the afternoon Cyrille recorded "Love For Sale," and Tam and Scarlett did "Where Have You Been?," Tam recorded his verse to "Take Me Back To Manhattan" with the band, Scarlett did a very lovely "Night and Day," and the orchestra was finished. I chatted a bit with some of the players before I headed home.
-
This morning my OTHER sister and I are going to Goodwill to see if we can find some kitchen chairs for my OTHER sister....for some reason all of her chairs break....so if we can find three or four, at least she'll have something upon which to sit....so to speak.
-
Thanks to everyone who talked about THE WEDDING SINGER last night, I sent for the Broadway CD to hear it.....since DR VIXTER did it in high school, I am assuming it is available for production by community theatres as well.
-
DR JohnG, best wishes for an easy outcome to your current medical issue.
-
Oh, man.....chemo brain..... I did get emails last night....I answered two of them....
I went back to the email after checking Facebook and forgot I had already been there.
Now you know why there is a post it note on my front door that asks: "DO YOU HAVE YOUR KEYS?"
-
Last night on THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT, Timmy was trying to get onto the Columbia lot to audition as a PARTRIDGE FAMILY replacement. The security guard was played by...Danny Bonaduce...
-
Good morning!
-
BACK ... and there is now $358 less of me.
-
Also, don't bitch about the postings if you ain't there to contribute. :D
;D
-
I'm up, I'm up - barely. About five hours of sleep and I will shortly be on my way to the smog check place.
-
With absolutely nothing to say
Yet you had a story to tell ;)

The good news is you figured it out.
-
DR George the movie must have been beautiful on the large screen. Overall I enjoyed it.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! We're taking it slow today and I have a lot of computer work to do, both for AAUW and for DAR.
-
Remember that check from Dublin? It was returned to my bank from the "system" because it wasn't endorsed. When I gave the teller the check two weeks ago, I asked if i needed to endorse it and was told no. It's now signed. Who the hell knows when I'll ever see that money?
-
I always endorse check and have never asked if it is needed. When Craig was in Romania I deposited money into his account and, of course, he hadn't endorsed the checks. Was it stamped with the account number in front of you?
-
DR elmore did you speak to the bank manager? Maybe the rules are different for out of country checks.
-
Go right to the source
And ask the horse.
He'll give you the answer that you endorse.
He's always on a steady course.
"I am Mr. Ed!"
-
Not a bad price for brakes DR CHAS SMITH and
changing out the tires.
-
Me too DR JANE. I always add my John Hancock......
-
Yes, finally I did figure out DR JANE. I thought for a minute all of my favorite stores and sites had forgotten me.....
-
My sister loved her dining room chairs.....they are really very nice. Four solid wood chairs with nice striped padded seats....retro design backs....tick tack toe wood design...$7.98 each with 40% off....$5.03 each.....
-
I guess it's called lattice back...

Not a bad price for brakes DR CHAS SMITH and
changing out the tires.
My tire changeovers are free right now because I bought them there. :)
Brakes would have been $250 without a flush of the system, but it’s advisable to do it, and it doubles the life of the warranty.
-
Titles will be live shortly. They should be live now, but I'm afraid Doug has been a little slow on the uptake today.
-
Titles are live now at Kritzerland. Don't wait too long on these - I think at 500 these two will go very quickly. And actually we're about to sell out of The House That Dripped Blood.
-

Lunacy. Do you remember the teller?

Everything should begin with gin.
-
Well, the repairs and a transmission flush (like the tires, I get a warranty with that) only came to half of my tax refund. I didn’t do everything they suggested. I’ll space that out over a few months.
-
CD ordered....I could only afford one.....
-
Yes DR CHAS SMITH I almost always get the recommended additional work done.....except at the oil change place.....they seem a bit pushy and overpriced.....
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
What is the most surprising or interesting Friend Request you have gotten on Book Face?
-
The Streets of New York has been added to CastAlbums.org (http://castalbums.org/recordings/The-Streets-Of-New-York-1964-Original-Cast/1888#63407)! ;D
-
Oh...both new CDs have been ordered by the likes of me!

Of course. She's my regular teller, a good lady.

PAGE FOUR DANCE!!
-
DR George the movie must have been beautiful on the large screen. Overall I enjoyed it.
Aquaman? It was incredible to watch on the big screen...so many details.
-
I ran all my errands and I will shortly feed the kitties. I've done nothing on that choral piece today, but I did bill Sh-K-Boom for the recording. I hoper they pay us soon.

The title was there, but I added Kritzerland's upcoming release.
-
Watching the original movie of Annie for maybe the first time since it was in the movie theater. So many things wrong, especially the Annie and Huston lacks any feeling for how to treat the orphans. But Albert Finney is better than i remember, Ann Reinking is still the best thing around.
But the big thing is the philosophical change. Annie on stage was about how horrible the Republicans were for ruining the country. The movie turns Republican Warbucks into the hero.
-
Too saccharine for my tastes. I'm starting Eastern Promises. Violence. Violence. Violence.
-
Back from market. I checked my lottery tickets and won $46.00!
-
And of course in ANNIE they went to see CAMILLE four years before it was released.....the least of the problems, I know.
-
DR JANE I don't know what she does to her chairs....maybe she uses them for firewood or maybe she has a monster chair eater in the house.....it's a mystery to me. But it has been memorialized on HHW so I will know how long these last.
-
:))
And you must be sure to tell us how they are holding up.
-
And of course in ANNIE they went to see CAMILLE four years before it was released.....the least of the problems, I know.
Yup.
-
Congratulations, Elmore.

My question for ASK BK DAY:
What is the most surprising or interesting Friend Request you have gotten on Book Face?
Hmmm. Bernadette Peters? Only it was fake. Stephen Sondheim? Only it was fake. Betty Breemer, the girl I kissed in the back row of the Four Star Theater during Where the Boys Are in junior high school - that was real and pretty surprising.
-
Curious about billing the label, elmore. Since they're obviously not paying for the recording, were they just given the money and doing the payouts?
-
I'm super tired. Fell asleep on the couch.
-
No booked shipped today - we can only hope for tomorrow. Car has been oiled and lubed and smog checked and I have sent in for my tags and new registration paper. Had Matzo Brei in the morning.
-
Have been thinking about what will be my next book. I've known what it was going to be for a year, and I know I'll be at least organizing stuff some of this year, if not doing any actual writing, but then again I just may do some actual writing if the fancy strikes me. But there are big decisions to be made with this one - one decision concerns the size - I think I want this to be a bigger book, size-wise - 8 1/2 by 11. They can do that and it would be full color on the inside, which would be fun, actually, for reasons that will become clear when you know what it is. But if the page count is what I suspect it will be, the retail price will be too expensive. So, we're also looking at off-set printing, rather than print on demand - that would buy me much classier paper (glossy) and reproduction, but then it's not print on demand at all - it's committing to 1500 books, the minimum order - that, of course, is folly. It's not quite as much folly if it's printed in China, which is where most of these kinds of books are printed. I'm getting more info, though, as it's fascinating.
-
Curious about billing the label, elmore. Since they're obviously not paying for the recording, were they just given the money and doing the payouts?
That's my guess. I didn't know until yesterday how we were being paid. I suspect the money went directly into the company's hands and they are handling all payments.
-
Eastern Promises is more powerful than I remember.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Five!
-
Today I finished reading all of the urgent books that I have checked out from the library. The rest can wait.
-
Unless I fall right to sleep tonight I will be starting a new, special book :)
-
Hey, Jane, how are things in Vancouver, Washington? Did I get that right? One of us needs to change our name. I see your name in the posts and think it's for me. :)
-
What's the new book?
-
A Star Is Born came into the library today. I'm really enjoying it so far. Best picture? .Hardly. But good old-fashioned entertainment it is.
-
Jane, did you finish anything good?
-
Two of the books I'm reading are horrible. One is "The Woman in the Window." What was all the fuss about?
The other is "Rob Roy." It's the first Sir Walter Scott book I've read and may well be the last. I'm halfway in and next to nothing has happened, but some ugly anti-Catholic nonsense and thick Scottish brogue, which doesn't work in print very well.
-
My sister loved her dining room chairs.....they are really very nice. Four solid wood chairs with nice striped padded seats....retro design backs....tick tack toe wood design...$7.98 each with 40% off....$5.03 each.....
Well done!!
-
Sadly, the script for A Star Is Born has fallen apart. Good performances, good direction, but bad, bad, bad cliches.
-
The movie is ended. It's easy to see why it lost everything but best song.
-
And with that, good night.
-
Back from a grueling dress rehearsal. But I now have to say that I am loving playing this show (A Chorus Line).
Tomorrow will be hell, with an afternoon Shrek rehearsal followed by the final ACL dress rehearsal. Not to mention, it's an hour's drive to the first, nearly an hour and a half from there to the second, and almost an hour's drive home close to midnight.
-
I hope I'm right about the book Jane is beginning :)
-
I made some pasta with red sauce for my snack - about four ounces, I think, maybe five. It was good. Hadn't had any food since 8:30 in the morning.
-
Hey, Jane, how are things in Vancouver, Washington? Did I get that right? One of us needs to change our name. I see your name in the posts and think it's for me. :)

;D
The original Vancouver, Vancouver Washington, was rather wet this evening.
As for your confusion for our names, I am the one weraring a hat while you are faceless one, something I think you need to rectify ;)
-
What's the new book?
The book Bruce has been waiting for me to read.
-
Murder at the Magic Castle.
-
Jane, did you finish anything good?
Depends if you enjoy the Elvis Cole books by Robert Crais.
-

Safe diving tomorrow.

You are.
-
Before the internet I called the Magic Castle inquiring if there was a way to go with our young magician on his birthday. The manager invited us as his guest for Sunday brunch.
-
That was the only year we flew to LA during Bryan's birthday.
-
DR Jan we lived in Michigan at the time, our 7th home, 6th state. We are now on our 10th home, 8th state.
-
Damn, Girl, you sure move a lot! I was born here in L.A. and have lived in this house since 1972. God, I'm old!
-
The last time I went to the Magic Castle I was dating a magician which means you become part of his act whether you want to or not. I'm sitting there and he starts pulling scarves, balls, coins, etc. out of my hair, cleavage, even my shoes. I learned real quick to wear turtlenecks, blouses buttoned up to the top.
-
That's funny.
-
Wow, the same house since 1972. I think that is nice. Where in L.A. are you?
-
North Hollywood. I'm a few miles north of BK in Sherman Oaks.
-
Good evening.
Page 6
-
Thanks DR Jan.
-
How nice to be on page six.
-
Hi Tom.
-
I am falling asleep.
-
'night
-
Gee, it has been a long time since that has happened to me.
-
Well, I did NOT buy a house today.
-
I really liked it, but I didn’t love it.
-
The kitchen was very small, and the bedrooms were even smaller.
-
Hi, Jane.
Good night, Jane.
-
I really liked it, but I didn’t love it.
Yup...ya gotta love it or it's not worth it!
-
Hi, Jane, jan, and Tom.

Sorry, I didn’t see your post in time.

Cool! My parents have been living in their house since 1976.

Notes have been written and written have been notes.

Hi, George.
-
....One of us needs to change our name. I see your name in the posts and think it's for me. :)
Years ago, for a while at work we had: Jena, Jane, Jean, Jan, Joan, John, Jon, Jon. :D

I am seeing the condo tomorrow that just may be the one!

I am seeing the condo tomorrow that just may be the one!
There's always hope. :)
-
Well, possibly!
-
I suspect it will be bought by someone before the end of the week.
-
6th avenue is a thriving area, and this condo is four blocks away.
-
I have rambled on, and I need to go take my medications.
-
Does that stop your ramblings?
-
I just gave Nicky his pain medication and I think I missed his cheek entirely.
-
Good night, BK.
-
Good night, George.

Good night, Tom.

I have a shirt with a ripped seam that I need to repair.
-
It won't look pretty, but it'll hold.
-
And the seam is on the side, so it won't be noticed.
-
I also need to sew on some buttons.
-
I think I have some thread that matches the thread of the shirt.
-
Well, it matches closely enough...even with the buttons being seen the way the side seam isn't.
