Well, you've read the notes, the notes were dullsville, and now it is time for you to post until the dullsville cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SCRUMPTIOUS!
-
Just watched the DVD - two commercials, one of which I have absolutely no memory of doing. That one is for Aqua Chem, some pool cleaner thing. The final shot is me on a raft in the pool - I am so skinny. :) The other commercial is one of my best - one of the airline commercials. I talk about it in the first memoir - where poor F. William Parker, my co-star, had to do almost 100 takes.
-
First post after BK!
-
I'm going to usher again for Young Frankenstein on Sunday night.
-
That's pretty cool about the DVD of your commercials, BK!
-
Today, the family is getting together for our weekly family dinner. Tonight, the cast of Bunbury is getting together again for a cast party. It'll be a late night, but I have no plans on Sunday except for the aforementioned ushering in the evening.
-
But first, sleep. 8)
Have a good day, all!
-

It is.
-
DR TCB, basically I do not eat crustaceans or shell fish. I will eat clam chowder or clam dip and on the extremely rare occasion have had a bite of crab cake.
-
T.O.D.
"Where's the beef?"
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all!
-
And here we are with another op'nin' tonight.
Again! Step, kick, kick, leap, kick, touch. Again!
Pray for that baby.
-
(The theaters in that region of CT do not open on Fridays. Only place I've known that to be the case, but it's been the case there for the couple of decades I've known them.)
-
After I've fed the cats and gone back to bed, the little devils won't let me sleep! They climb all over me. I know Annabelle does it because she wants me up patrolling with her. Thatch likes to play and explore.
-
I've got to finish this choral piece and get back to How To Succeed . . .
-
Good morning, all.
-
Tax vibes for Jan.
-
Fun news about the commercials, BK.
-
I think a complete set of commercials done by one person over however many years would be an amazingly fun thing to see.
-
Favorite commercials:
The Indian crying over America's litter
Alka Selzer's spicy meatball
Wendy's Where's the beef
Ethel Merman selling dishwashing liquid -- was it Vel?
Mickey for Life Cereal
The Cincinnati theme park, Kings Island, used "Comedy Tonight" for their theme song, which I loved before I knew it was Sondheim.
The anti-smoking commercial that used The Best Is Yet to Come
The Publix grocery ad that used The Christmas Waltz
-
Good morning!
-
We've made our patrol. As soon as that recording money comes in, I'm buying a new vacuum, and that cannot happen soon enough!
-
Just got word that my early dance lesson has been canceled. I could have slept an extra hour. Maybe I'll head back to bed.
-
My favorite commercials are the Alka-Selzer with Alice Playten and the State Farm with Jake ("she sounds hideous." "Yeah, well, she's a guy").
The commercial I currently detest is the Volvo, using a dreadful - is that a real voice? - soprano singing the Queen of the Bight's second aria. And weren't they the same car company that had last year a dreadful commercial singer doing a lousy rendition of "My Favorite Things"?
-
DR Jan, sorry to hear about your taxes. Thank the GOP for the gift that keeps giving to them.
-
Planning to make a galette with plums mixed with loquats from the tree out back. What I can't figure out is how much seasoning it needs. I found a recipe that only uses sugar. No lemon juice, no cinnamon. Have to think about what to use.
-
I'm not sure I can name many absolutely favorite commercials from the past, though "Where's the beef!" is certainly a contender.

Yes! Horrible. I generally dislike the use of any existing music. Opera or musical or pop song, anything at all. It cheapens the music horribly. Who was it that used "Bushel and a Peck" so badly last year or the year before? The way they truncate and end them is sometimes the worst offense, even if it sounds like they're being "authentic" at the start of it.
But favorites of right now? GEICO, hands down. And I historically never liked them. But this new crop are damned entertaining. I think the camel one (hump day) is the winner of all time.

Opening night vibes for DR CHAS SMITH & Co.

This afternoon I am going to see Sandbar & Allen a guitar duo playing at a winery a few miles from my house....there are three wineries a few miles from my house....which is weird.
Anyway my brother is the "Allen" in Sandbar & Allen, and I have not heard him play for awhile, so it should be fun. And even if not...WINE!

When I was in college a group of us did a show at a local church called A Night on the Boob Tube, a bunch of scenes satiring TV.
We did a take off of this commercial
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ziljlZj2myI
The husband was led to the scaffold to be hung, accompanied by a priest, his wife and a cop. As the executioner placed the noose around the condemned man's neck, he suddenly sing songed "ring around the collar, ring around the collar!...."
All eyes turned accusingly on the wife who hung her head in shame and the noose is moved to her neck....
And scene!

Since I don't watch TV any more, I don't see any commercials any more. I don't miss them.
-
Opening night vibes for DR CHAS SMITH & Co.
Ditto!
And more vibes.
-
The nap was too short.
-
I hauled out my copy of Agnes Varda in California, which I plan to watch if I ever get through Riverdale Season 2.
-
And here we are with another op'nin' tonight.
Again! Step, kick, kick, leap, kick, touch. Again!
Pray for that baby.

Saturday morning greetings! It's supposed to rain all day, including heavy thunderstorms this afternoon. We're staying in all day.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe five hours of sleep or maybe six.
-
Break a leg to ChasSmith and company.
-
I shall now be on my way to do a workshop, eat, hopefully pick up packages, and then I shall return.
-
TOD - this was funnier on the radio, but I still like the TV version, too:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1bQxZq52T8
-
Good afternoon to all
-
I will have to check out all the commercial links later today. Maybe one of my favorite commercials is there, the original Dr. Pepper "i'm a Pepper" with David Naughton.
-
I need to find a treadmill so I can read.
-
I like DR VIXMOM's choices for the TOD and DR GINNY's as well.
-
And then there's this.....a stunner from my childhood.

-
And this perky irritant....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6epL1916mc
-
OMG, DR Jrand68, I never even thought of those two.
The classics to beat all classics.
But I haven't yet looked at everyone else's. I shall enjoy all of them tonight.
-
Tax vibes for Jan.
I could use some of those., too.
I'll try to catch up and find out what Jan wrote - hope all is OK, Jan.

Vibes to you both!

I hated the Wisk "ring around the collar" commercials and swore never to use the product. I ate my words because it really worked though I began using it to get pain and food out of toddler clothes.
They stopped making the unscented version and I had to stop using it.
-
It's a beautiful spring day.
-
I've been running errands with no coat
-
And now Vixdad is taking me out for crepes

You got ‘em, Fred.
-
Thanks for the tax vibes
Great strong vibes being sent to BK!
-
Up from a nap. Felt good.
-
Portobello mushroom, spinach and goat cheese crepe was good....next time I think I will ask for some sautéed onions and roasted red peppers to be added
-
Tax vibes for everyone
-
It's a beautiful spring day.
Same here.
-
I do enjoy the Budweiser commercials.
-
Back from a fun but too lightly attended workshop. We're going to get tough about the next one, because many of their members think this show is going to be like last year's fund raiser cabaret - they can just show up and wing it. Well, sorry, not in my show you can't. If I have to bring in ten ringers you know that I will.
-
Doug and I had lunch at the Coral Cafe.
-
Leftovers for dinner.
Chicken with onions and Liangfen-Chinese Noodles (heart-breaking jelly noodles), which are strange. They're like mung bean gelatin in a spicy sauce. Tradition says that if you eat them when you're sad, the spiciness of the dish will cause your sadness to go away because your focus will be on how spicy everything is. I'm not sad, but the dish honestly wasn't spicy enough to make me forget anything.
-
DR John. Now that I have listened to a short sample of the audio, "I Know Where the Crawdads Sing" I am extra curious to know your response.
-
Afternoon/evening.
-
I am home from the condo.
-
Tracy and I voted “NO” on the condo. There was a lot to like, but only a little to love.
-
Then we did lunch.
-
Now I am home watching, what I had hoped would be, an easy victory by Gonzaga over Texas Tech.
-
Instead it is a knock down drag out
prize fight basketball game.
-
One more post.
-
Page 4
-
Well, Gonzaga is now dust.
-
I need to get ready. I am off to see A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.
-
I will probably be late tonight, too.
-
So, guys, George and I will be home late!!
-
Good bye.
-
Robert Yacko asked if I'd come meet him at Jerry's, so I did that - just had a drink, no food, as I'm still uncomfortably full from lunch. Now I'm back and listening to some music. I'm sure I'll watch something at some point.
-
Well, Gonzaga is now dust.
Yep. Texas Tech knocked my team out, too.
Now I’m pulling for Purdue...
-
Then we did lunch.
Lunch after looking at a condo sounds good. Sorry though that you didn't love the condo.
-
Tonight we are going to watch "Can You Ever Forgive Me?" .
-
Yes I am biting my fingers over the Purdue game now at half time.
-
The music was great....unfortunately some girl who just turned 30 had chosen the winery as the site for her party.....there were about 50 of her friends and family there being very loud and intoxicated, so the we couldn't hear the music very well.
One of the servers said they usually have about 15 people there on Saturday afternoon.....it was chaos.
But we all had a good time.....and as we were leaving, it started to snow! Yes....snow! So getting home was tricky.
But I am glad I went. It is always nice to see my baby brother - or any of my siblings - doing something they love to do....and are good at......
-
Oh and all the party folks had matching t-shirts......
-

I will start it in a couple of days. Got to get through Woman in the Window.
-
I need to get ready. I am off to see A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.
Jealous. I love that show. Hope it's a good production.
-
The galette tasted good. I wonder if it were a little too tart for people. I cut back on the sugar and the plums were a little less than ripe. I liked it.

How was the show, ChasSmith?
-
I have to try and get to sleep. Tomorrow Vixdad and I are going to see The Lion King after I get home from church
-
Show had a decent opening. There was a glitch in the rotating 3-sided panels that necessitated leaving them in mirror position throughout the show. That should be corrected tomorrow. But for all the other complexities of first-time remote pit, etc., it went off well. It will only get better over the next two weekends.
-
I have to try and get to sleep. Tomorrow Vixdad and I are going to see The Lion King after I get home from church
Wow! Have you seen it before?
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I watched FRANTZ, a sensitively done film about two young men, one French, the other German, who each fight for their respective countries in WWI, and the German man's fiance. Very well done.
-
good night.
-
I have to try and get to sleep. Tomorrow Vixdad and I are going to see The Lion King after I get home from church
Wow! Have you seen it before?
No This is the first time. Vixdad surprised me with the tickets and surprised me even more by getting one fir himself as well. He usually just gets me a single preferring not to go
-
Well iPad us on 3% battery so I will be going to bed now
-
Goodnight all

Sweet. I hope you both enjoy the show.
-
I finished a special book this evening. I liked how the mystery unraveled and I didn't figure it out 😊
-
Yay! Can you please leave a Goodreads review and maybe cut and paste to Barnes and Noble?
-
Finished with my viewing - three more episodes of Aquarius. It has its moments, but it's very weird. And the director of the episode I just finished went to hyper violent land and it was so unnecessary. And when they get details wrong, period details, I find it so irritating.
-
While I enjoy discussing books I do not enjoy writing reviews which might be why I rarely do. Please remember mine tend to be short and simple.
I will cut and paste once I figure out where to put the B&N review.
-
Any review is helpful including short and sweet ones. For B&N you just put the book title in the search bar and it will take you to the page. You should leave it on the actual book page rather than the eBook page.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
What, do people think it's a Saturday night or something?
-
I have a little headache so perhaps I'll take something for it.
-
And where is TCB?
-
And where is George?
-
And where is the gazelle?
-
I gotta tell you.
