Well, you've read the notes, the notes were fun and rehearsed, and now it is time for you to post until the fun and rehearsed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CIRCADIAN!
-
DR TCB I think you have a good reason to vent.
-
DR George maybe you can walk to work again today.
-
Tom (from yesterday), yes I've had Meconi's egg salad. It was pretty good. The only negative (to me) is that their bread is firmer than what I would want egg salad to be on, so it squished out every time I took a bite...but otherwise it was quite tasty. :)
-
DR George maybe you can walk to work again today.
I was planning on it. The parking lot is going to be unavailable for a couple more days.
-
Topic of the Day: umm...all of them??
;)
-
So, Lady Jane, any injuries today or have you been watching where you're going?
-
George, I can’t believe you have been in your condo for 12 1/2 years.
-
I crashed my knee into the coffee table so maybe I protected you from the injury fairy today.
-
Topic of the Day (addendum): I don't know much about what was specifically recorded for the Ben Bagely series, except for what Kritzerland has released. But I've know of the series for many years...I just didn't keep track of specific titles.
-
And so I say nighty-night.
-
George, I can’t believe you have been in your condo for 12 1/2 years.
I know! It's the longest I've lived in any one place since moving out of my parents' house. Of course, I don't EVER plan on moving again.
-
And so I say nighty-night.
Good night, jan.
-
DR George maybe you can walk to work again today.
I was planning on it. The parking lot is going to be unavailable for a couple more days.
Hopefully by then it will become a regular routine.
-

LOL, all was good today.
-
I crashed my knee into the coffee table so maybe I protected you from the injury fairy today.
Thank you.
-
Good night Jan.
-
George, when you get a sub from Meconi’s, do you get a half or a whole? The whole sandwich sounds kind of expensive.
-
Good night, HB.
-

No...it won't. ::) It'll take a LOT more than a couple of days to become a regular routine for me.
-
Darn ;D ;)
-
George, when you get a sub from Meconi’s, do you get a half or a whole? The whole sandwich sounds kind of expensive.
Yes, but on the back of every Washington Center for the Performing Arts ticket (or the front on print-at-home tickets), there's a coupon for $2 off any whole sandwich and $1 off a half. The coupons never expire, so when I (very frequently) usher at the WCPA, I collect any tickets that have been left behind.
AND I also get $50 Meconi's gift cards at Costco because those only cost $40! So, 20% off on the gift cards and a little less than 20% off because of the coupon adds up to a LOT of savings!
It's called workin' the system. ;D
-
But do you order the half or the whole sandwich??
-
I am thinking of driving down there tomorrow to buy a sandwich.
-
But do you order the half or the whole sandwich??
For the most part, I get the half. A couple of years ago, they changed the prices so that the whole sub is exactly twice the cost of the whole, unlike most places (especially Subway), where the whole is only two or three dollars more than the half, which can be $5-$9.
-
Maybe I will just get a whole, and I can save the other for dinner.
-
Good night, George. I guess I will try to sleep.
-
Maybe I will just get a whole, and I can save the other for dinner.
I've done that. The bread can get a little mushy, but it's still edible.
-
Good night, George. I guess I will try to sleep.
Good night, Tom.
-
PAGE TWO OFF-TO-BED DANCE!!
;)
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Darn, I have not been back to sleep since my 20 minute nap.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It’s raining here.
-
Knee vibes for Jan.
-
Real estate vibes for TCB.
-
Off to the day.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I got out of bed at 8 and stepped ASAP into a very warm bath. Annabelle was unhappy because I was wasting her time. She wants to patrol.
-
And we will. Soon.
-
I heard the Tony nominations. They only announced Best Play/Musical; Best Actor and Actress in each category. I want to see the backstage nominees.
-
Good morning.

Thank you, DR Laura!
-
Good morning to all
-
I am a bit disappointed to not receive a Tony Nomination again......but that's show business.
-
TOD:
The Noel Coward Revisited edition!
-
BK
Didn't you record a song on one of your Unsung Musicals CDs from the Little Prince with Daisy Eagan?
-
Yesterday afternoon, I stood up and I could feel the nerves in my left ankle grind to a halt. I am having a hard time walking and standing today. I am not happy about this.
-
Good Morning, good muffin to you!
-
Tony Nom's were ok. I don't think I've seen anything this season, so may the best show win. I've listened to Hadestown and was quite surprised on how much I liked it. Same with The Prom which I hope would win, but won't. Ain't Too Proud started its life in the Bay Area, but I never got to it, and I never really liked Beetlejuice as a movie, so thinking about it as a musical, well... yeah.
-
As for the TOD - I'm not really sure I understand the whole Ben Bagley thing.
-

Oh no. Vibes this is temporary!
-
TOD:
I don’t know if Bagley produced them, but Kenward Elmslie Visited, the full recording of Lola and Kaye Ballard’s slbum of Carolyn Leigh and other women writers.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe six hours of sleep.
-
Titles are live.
-
Shayne, different version of The Little Prince.
-
Tuesday afternoon greetings! After a very early morning yesterday, I've eased into today and am just now ready to get on with it.
-
Let’s move on ...
-
Three!
-
We had a surprise storm blow through yesterday. It cooled things off nicely. My DH and I went for a hike this morning. I should probably do some yardwork while it is still cool.
-
Good
morning afternoon, all.
-
Exhausted from the morning commute and show, so it's great to be at home and just totally relaxing.
-
Until BK had released the first several of them, I never knew there had been so many Ben Bagley albums. I only ever heard a few of them back in the day.
-
Friend Robin de Jesus has his third Tony nomination.
-
Now I have a hungry feline contingent attacking me. Back later!
-
And later would actually be now.
That last post took forever to complete, and as soon as it did, the site laid down and died. Couldn’t get back on till just now.
-
The San Francisco check has arrived. I hope the Warner Music Group payment is hot on its tail.
-

Thank goodness!
-
Friend Robin de Jesus has his third Tony nomination.
Excellent news. He deserves it.
-
Has the site been down?
-
Had the quick rehearsal, which was fine, then picked up no mail or packages, then went to Corky's and had my good sandwich.
-
I went to edit my post and deleted it instead, like an idiot.
Here it is, corrected:
It was inaccessible for some 40 minutes, from about 2:40 pm to 3:20 pm eastern.
-
Just got an e-mail about a potential soundtrack project, another one that would be rescued from the trash bins ala The House That Dripped Blood. Trying to make sure that the music units are just music, not music and effects. If they're just music, we'll definitely do it and it involves a major composer (only a handful of films but a HUGE name that we can do very well with) - hoping for the best. I also made a deal to reissue all the complete Harvey Schmidt titles I produced. First up will be The Fantasticks...in Jazz. Then Colette Collage, and finally the revival of I Do! I Do! So, that's very good news.
-
Joshie just called and asked me to come in tomorrow to help him prepare for the Friday sitzprobe. I hope my leg holds up.
-
Ben Bagley Cole Porter purchased.
-
Hmmmm.....Birdy Barnum is enjoying a James Darren CD.....
-
Nope not so much....four songs in and Barnum is asleep.
-
Recording vibes for BK. And good news on the Schmidt re-releases.
-
Hugh Jackman is bringing his tour to San Antonio is October.
-
Good evening!
-
Condolences, DR Elmore, on the loss of your friend.
-
Belated Happy Anniversary to DR Druxy and his wife!
-
Belated Happy Birthday to the Vixter!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I saw Erik, my massage therapist, today. I hit my head last week--reaching into the refrigerator and standing up too soon, if you must know--and it caused more problem than I'd anticipated. Erik really worked on me, which means I will likely soon be quite sore.
-
Erik has a rather off-beat sense of humor and loves bad jokes, which he collects. There was one that was cute, though:
What do you call a dog who does magic?
A Labracadabra.
-
I then went across the street to my favorite food store. No almond croissants, so I settled for a chocolate one, which just wasn't as good as you'd think.

Yes, everyone here is talking about how you were ROBBED!

Feel Better Pronto vibes to Larry!

Very glad to hear it!
Vibes for the next check.
-
Belated Happy Anniversary to DR Druxy and his wife!
Ditto!
I was too wrapped up in my own self-pity yesterday.
-
I just sent my doctor an email about seeing her some time on Thursday. I'm also wondering if this new leg pain might be tendonitis in my ankle.
-
Larry, I was sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

Actually I am not surprised. The chocolate in those is usually disappointing for me.
-
DR Jeanne, once the soreness wears off I hope you feel much, much better.
-
A few days ago John G asked for a review of the NEW MS FISHER:
It's not bad, but I do miss Essie Davis and the wonderful chemistry between her and Nathan Page.
I also miss the gorgeous costumes and sets.
I miss Mr Butler. And Bert and Cec.
I miss the period soundtrack.
In other words, it just isn't the same as the original. But without Essie Davis it couldn't be.
On the positive side, the first episode (90 minutes) moved along well. The actors are competent, though there's one I don't care for. I'm not sure how much you can revive a series without the leads and the period. I'll watch the next episode and probably the rest. I'm hoping it improves once it gets going.
-
That said, it isn't bad. It just isn't on a par with the original.
The reviews from Australia have been mixed. Some LOVE it. Some don't like it at all. No surprise.
-
DR Jeanne, once the soreness wears off I hope you feel much, much better.
Thanks, Jane. At a minimum, I'll be relieved I'm no longer sore. ;)
-
Haircut in twenty minutes. Just got the Gershwin master - so much better - sound is hugely improved, and he's done a great job with Concerto in F, which of course was taken from 78s - you wouldn't know that now. There's a little something I've asked him to try and clean up in the first five minutes of that track, but even if he can't it still sounds pretty amazing for something that was recorded in 1928.
-
Jeanne thank you for the detailed review. I watched a short trailer and it was obvious the new star is no Essie Davis.
-

I am sure-lol
-
VERY excited for that Gershwin...which I never knew about. Looking forward.
-
Jeanne thank you for the detailed review. I watched a short trailer and it was obvious the new star is no Essie Davis.
No, but few are. The new lead is quite popular in Australia, I'm told.
-
I read an interview with Heidi Thomas, the producer of CALL THE MIDWIFE. When she first read the original memoir she wasn't enthusiastic. For one thing, the 1950s wasn't her favorite period, she said. But look what she--and others--did with it. It's a wonderful show. I'm hoping the new MS FISHER does something similar. We'll see.
-
TTFN.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Haircut in just a few mintues.
-
Jeanne thank you for the detailed review. I watched a short trailer and it was obvious the new star is no Essie Davis.
No, but few are.
My thoughts when I knew they were making a new show.
-
Mintues? That sounds like some kind of mint candy.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I'm a little overtired, but the make-up rehearsal is actually happening tonight at nine-thirty, so that's an hour of my evening.
-
I follow an author on facebook who puts up very funny posts. FB just notified me...

Hugh Jackman is bringing his tour to San Antonio is October.
Will you try to get tickets?
If I’m not in Greece.
-
Greece? How exciting. Are you just visiting or do you have people there?
-
I'm feeling lousy, so I am going to bed. Annabelle has decided to return to my lap for relaxation, loving pets, gentle scratches, and tender squeezes. She seems very happy.
-
DR Jeanne, now that we've finished Season 3 of our slog through the complete Poirot, I can definitely say Season One is the weakest. There are a few really good episodes, some not-so-hot, but the production seems to me to be finding their way. The elements are there, but I found very little to complain about in Season Two or Three, and I think Miss Lemon, Inspector Japp, and Colonel Hastings are settling in as characters.
-
Before I go to bed, today is the birthday of the wonderful Sheldon Harnick, whom I met through Jonathan Tunick after a 1989 production of She Loves Me. I haven't seen him in a couple of years so I hope he is still walking around the Upper West Side. I last ran into him at Staples.
So, Happy Birthday, Sheldon! I will be forever grateful to BK for giving me this wonderful song from your Fiorello to orchestrate for his first "Lost in Boston."

Rehearsal in an hour and forty-five minutes.
-
Glad we're getting it out of the way tonight - that way tomorrow is pretty open.

I will be visiting. Third trip.

Happy birthday, Mr. Harnick. Thank you for so many wonderful words.

Good night, all.
-
Rehearsal finished and now to Fosse/Verdon.
-
I wonder when the new episode actually appears on Amazon - it certain isn't there now. I know I've watched it on the air date, but not until after midnight, so maybe it magically shows up then.
-
I keep falling asleep while trying to write.
