Hello, Boys. Doing well so far. Gotta take the car for a smog check, yuck.
Hello, Boys. Doing well so far. Gotta take the car for a smog check, yuck.
Oh yes, that is always fun.
Be glad, George. Get to sit in a garage for an hour, then spend more money to send in my registration form.
George, you had better be taking your car in for an emissions test every other year, or you will be in a lot of trouble.
Sleep well, George. Cuddles to Neve!
Where is testing required?
Most of Clark, King, Pierce, Snohomish and Spokane counties.
Click here** for a list of zip codes where testing is required.

We don't do that in Washington...at least, not that I know of.

Thurston county is not an area that needs to test. THAT'S why I didn't know about it. :D
Condo vibes for TCB, may it all turn out for the best
I have a Doctor's appointment with my surgeon tomorrow.....just so that he can send a confirmation to my ostomy supplies company so that my insurance will continue to pay for my supplies....I think I wrote about this mess when it happened......

Can I go home now?
I awoke to a list of something called the Valley Theatre Awards. There are so many awards - I think I've heard of this but, you know, the Valley. Anyway, A Carol Christmas is up for best musical of the year, Doug and I are up for best writing for a play or musical (why no separate category for best score is a shame - I think I'd be the only nominee), two of our actors are up - one lead, one support although they seem to have them swapped, category-wise - I'm up for best director of a musical - I think that's about it. A few other actors from other Group Rep shows are up, too. Now, in every category we're up against a theater called the Cupcake - they will take them all - that's what happens every year. Even though I've directed shows in the Valley before, I think these are fairly new. I have no idea WHO votes on these or how it works.

I asked Alexa to play The Lusty Month of May this morning and obliged. She even played Julie Andrews’s version.
And here is the original, complete Broadway production number for "The Lusty Month of May," performed by Sierra Boggess and the John Wilson Orchestra from the 2012 BBC Proms. The conductor is my friend John Wilson. The dance arrangement, as well as the choral arrangement, is by my late - and sorely missed - friend Trude Rittman, best Broadway dance arranger ever. Drag out your Camelot vocal score and follow along.

I'm sorry you're in so much pain, DR Elmore. Can you find a position to sit or lie in that's relatively comfortable?
Vibes you feel better very soon!

I am comfortable until I stand and put pressure on the foot.
I might be hesitant to attend a performance at the Cupcake Theatre without my rompers on.

I’m in the middle of re-reading Trollope’s Phineas Finn. I wanna go home and read more.
Back from the second and last of the shows for students.
And these were KIDS, man. Like, little elementary school kids.
Amazingly, though, they always sit quietly throughout the show, regardless of what it is, and then go crazy when it's time to laugh or applaud or otherwise react. Obviously there are jokes and situations that go right over their heads, but that doesn't matter. Their behavior could almost make one believe that we come cut of the womb knowing how to comport ourselves, and at some point it's all sucked away and has to be relearned.

DR George thanks for the photos & music link.
George & TCB, I just read the following in our local paper.
"The Pacific Northwest has entered a period of moderate drought, which could mean an early fire season in the Cascade Range and the Okanogan region. The potential for significant wildfires is above normal west of the Cascade crest in Washington and Oregon through August, the report said."
Elmore, is the pain on the bottom of your foot -- the heel? Where you put your weight?
I am home and in much pain.
Good vibes your doctor has some answers for you.

I'm not seeing my doctor about my leg. I'm going in for treatment on whatever's mucking up my health for the past three weeks or longer. I need to know if it;s allergies, the flu, pneumonia, WTF. All she'll do about the leg is what the HMO has done since 2013: referrals.
I just got this e-mail:
Hi Mr. Kimmel! I was looking around the internet today for birthday gift ideas for my brother, and ran into a “The Creature Wasn’t Nice” script on eBay that had your name on the cover. Then I fell down a productivity rabbit hole looking up information about one of our favorite movies growing up, (although we knew it as “Spaceship”). And then I found your site and “Ask Bruce” link, so I don’t really have a question, but a from-the-heart compliment:
Growing up in Nebraska in the 80’s, our parents always had dubious skills on filtering the movies we’d select from “The Video Station” rental place, and once every few months we’d pick up “Spaceship”, and laugh all weekend long. Hearing three boys (age 4, 8, and 10) walking around saying things like “Science is my pie, Curiosity is my sweet tooth…”, naming things “The Stark <whatever>”, to “Gimme some leeway…”, and obviously the musical number, I’m sure our teachers just shook their heads.
To this day we’ll sometimes pop it in, but there’s a place in our hearts for all of it, so I wanted to say thank you! It has brought us a lot of joy and laughter over the years.

Is this your favorite of his novels?
No. But it's part of the Palliser series, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It's the 150th anniversary of the novel's publication, and the Facebook Anthony Trollope Society is doing a group read in honor of that. So, I guess I told myself I didn't have enough to do already, so I would summarize four chapters. Except I thought the four summaries would run over four days. I didn't read that they would run over two days, and I just had to write the last in a hurry. Thankfully, the chapter was probably the shortest in the book.

Thank you for all of the condo vibes. Unfortunately, even if they agree to lower the price, they certainly won’t continue to pay for the closing costs. So, basically the deal is doomed. I just can’t afford to pay the down payment and the closing costs up front.
Sorry, I disappeared there for a few minutes, my friend Tracy is having a medical emergency.
Thank you so much, TCB!
How did you know?
:)
