Well, you've read the notes, the notes held their hats, and now it is time for you to post until the hallelujah cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FASCICLE!
-
First post after BK.
-
I think the Ron Burgundy bit went on a little too long.
-
Topic of the Day: I've never seen it, so I finally got Pulp Fiction from the library. I haven't watched it yet, but it's not due until next week.
-
I think the Ron Burgundy bit went on a little too long.
He was the only guest. I turned to the end of The Tonight Show because I'm now going to watch Late Night with Seth Meyers, and "Ron Burgundy" was a guest on that show, AND LNwSM has announced that they will have a "special guest." I wonder who it will be. ::)
-
He said he was going to be on all of the late shows last night.
-
Good night, George.
-
He said he was going to be on all of the late shows last night.
Why? I didn't think he was funny on Stephen Colbert. I wonder if it was because I never saw the movies, or if he just wasn't funny.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
"Ron Burgundy" is doing stand-up comedy on Seth Meyers with a ventriloquest's dummy. ::)
-
He's not funny.
-
Oh, I almost forgot. Scott Pinkston won the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance as Roy Cohn in ANGELS IN AMERICA. Not really much of a surprise.
-
Now, it’s good night.
-
And on that note (F#), I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
First light in the east. That’s me.
-
110%.
-
Hello
-
Big thunder storm last night
-
Good morning!
-
Good morning, all
-
George, you missed at least one other Sondheim couple: Charles Kimbrough and Beth Howland.
-
TOD
I hope I can get back to L’Humanite
Le Doulos
-
Good morning, all!
-
And Victoria Mallory and Kurt Peterson and Victoria Mallory and Len Cariou.
-
I have no plans today beyond dragging out the Big Ladder, which I did not do yesterday, to change a light bulb in the kitchen and put away cases of cat food. I want to pull some furniture away from one wall to pull books from the lower bookcases.
-
I had a bad dream last night. Dr Cohen had warned me that the risky sides of this polyp surgery, which he told me had never happened - not yet, I thought! - were possible brain damage or blindness. So of course I dreamed about being blind, trying to maneuver and grieving over not being able to see the cats.
-
This will be my major anxiety until the surgery is over.
-
Last night I watched the first half of Carry On Dick, which could have been a funny parody of Tom Jones and 18th century London, since it's about highwayman Dick Turpin. I do not think I'll finish it. Tonight we'll try Carry On Cleo, with Kenneth Williams as Julius Caesar.
-
Carry ON to PAge Two.
-
My sister and I were planning to see Once Upon A Time in Hollywood on Tuesday - but Monday is its last day locally and I don't want to DRIVE any distance to see it....so we shall see what happens.
-
I must say that I am enjoying the Soundtrack to the aforementioned movie a lot......MR BK might be interested in the local DJ's and commercials included......
Tanya Tanning Butter!!!
-
My question for those who do community or small house theatre....Why is it - in every show - that the least talented person with the smallest part who is insufferable backstage spends the MOST time in front of the makeup mirror obsessing about how he/she looks.
No one cares....you're onstage for less than five minutes....no one cares.....
SHREK is cursed with such a person.... I mentioned this to the costumer who didn't even let me finish my sentence....."I know..."
-
We are back from patrol. Annabelle was in a very happy mood, although she ran from the nice man on two who has a cat. I don't think she sees him often enough to be familiar with him as she is with Mark next door and MaryAnne on five. I think they might be filming something on the block from the trucks and cop cars outside.
-
Bruce- Thanks For Releasing "TOO MANY GIRLS" Just Ordered Same. From Samples On Site It Sounds Like A Real Winner !
-
This will be my major anxiety until the surgery is over.
Understandable.
-
Staying calm vibes for DR elmore.
-
Hi DR Arnold.
-
The light bulbs are changed. On to the next chore.
-
Hi Jane !
-
Greetings to DR ArnoldMBrockman.
-
Enjoyed the notes on the Tarantino film.
Agree with much of that, even though I enjoy his films in spite of their obvious faults and his obvious obsessions which are sometimes distracting.
Yes, the DiCaprio TV series scenes went on way too long. The eight-year-old girl scene went on too long. The spouting of things Tarantino would say also happened in the big Al Pacino scene, but I thought his lines were more of an anachronism, like when he said: "I watched it on 35mm". Like, what the hell else would he have watched it on in 1969? Granted, he subsequently watched something else on 16mm, so, maybe just making the distinction. But those lines nevertheless stuck out.
-
And the Hollywood Blvd. scenes?
Holy moley. With all the work done on those blocks, I really expected, you know, real "scenes" to take place there. Like maybe a conversation between two people walking down the street? Or maybe some people coming out of the Vogue or Pussycat (wrong years notwithstanding), or perhaps an interaction between one of the characters and a salesperson in one of the stores? Speaking of which, obviously he doesn't care about this kind of accuracy, but why not reconstruct the correct VOGUE RECORDS instead of the boring ubiquitous national chain store PEACHES? That would have at least made it accurate to the year (or more so) AND infinitely more interesting to the Hollywood-minded core of his audience. Finally, I must have blinked, because I never caught sight of the Aquarius Theater.
BK's "three seconds" is more like the sum total of ALL the split-second shots, not the length of any one of them. Yes, his dedication to the physical world over using CGI in such instances is admirable, but really, I think in this case you could say why bother.
-
I was also amused by his re-imagining of Cielo Drive, though I can certainly understand it. A friend who saw the film was quite taken with my description of the real place, including news of the absolute horror that sits on that property now.
Snapshots by Yrs Truly, of the 10050 gate as it existed in Feb 1975.

Tanya Tanning Butter!!!
Authentic radio clips and such are always welcome, but I wondered why he used a few KHJ ones but not any other local radio or TV clips. It's certainly possible I missed some because there was a lot to keep up with. But KHJ got a credit and I didn't notice any others there, either.
-
I put the cat food away, and I've been to bank and market. My legs are killing me, so I will lie downm with Thatch for our nap before I tackle the books.
-
I would like to see the new Tarantino. I've only seen Pulp Fiction (with my close personal friend Amanda Plummer) and Reservoir Dogs. The film I'm looking forward to most is Downton Abbey.
-
Oh, that's interesting. I'm one of the remaining few people on Planet Earth who has never seen Downton Abbey.
(I know, I know. I've been told many times.,,) :)
Anyhoo, I'm watching the trailers where I saw the Tarantino, and that one looked like it could be a very intriguing movie.... but until the title was finally revealed to me, I had no idea what it was. So I wonder if the movie could be appreciated without the benefit of knowing the series. Like, at all.

He does Peaches because that's what HE remembers - and I truly believe he doesn't care - it's a fairy tale, but it's irritating. No Aquarius that I saw. And yes, "I saw it in 35mm" is like saying "on set" - no one would have ever said that, nor would he have said 16mm.
-
I'm up, I'm up - not quite seven hours of sleep and I'm goin' back to bed for a few minutes.

George, you missed at least one other Sondheim couple: Charles Kimbrough and Beth Howland.
That's right! ;D

Fortunately, I haven't had to deal with such people on every show, but I've had my share of them. :P
-
I try not to be that person. ::)
:D
-
Carry On Elmore vibes.
-
I, too, eant to see the Tarantino movie. But I can’t find three hours.
-
Computer problems at work today.
-
Let’s move on...
-
Three!
-
Thatch, Stella, and I had our lie-down. They are still dozing, but i know as soon as I start pulling books, Stella will want to help.
-
She can pull them down faster than you can, DR Elmore.
-
I've been making piano accompaniment rehearsal tracks for our leads in CABARET.
I'm not proud of these, but they'll get the job done. If I wanted to take the time to do it really well, I'd record 8 or 16 or whatever bars at a time to get them as flawless as possible, then edit them together. I've done this with complex dance music (e.g. "Marian the Librarian") and my edits are absolutely undetectable. But it's a lot of work, so this post shall serve as my confession and justification for not doing it. :)

Those of you who watch foods that raise your glucose, are there any good foods you might recommend that add weight?
For those of you wanting to lose weight, just reduce your sugar & carbs drastically & eat vegetarian. Also walk a lot, and boy those pounds will drop off-lol
-
Another carton of books filled and set aside. Stella was no help at all. Annabelle and Thatch wisely stayed out of my way.

:)

Dairy, nut butter. Starches are debatable in terms of health, but they will add weight.

Thanks. I am eating dairy though my milk is non-fat. I am still having a little ice cream, about what I always ate, and it is high fat. I eat lots of nuts. My Skippy super chunk peanut butter has sugar so I have been eating less of it.
I am trying to avoid russet potatoes, which means fries, and white rice. I am eating other starches.
-
I really think I need to gain muscle, not fat, which is difficult for me since I can't do many of the muscle building exercises.
-
I read today that there is less than 1% chance I might have a brown, vs blue eyed, granddaughter . I didn't realize it was possible at all.
Can you imagine the problems that might have caused the poor woman who gave birth to a brown eyed baby before there was DNA testing?

Non-fat milk is very bad for you. They used dried milk to make it white, and that stuff sticks to/clogs arteries.

New perks up - another original lead sheet in the hand of Richard Sherman for one of the Roman Holiday songs, a big Chorus Line/Dreamgirls lot, more coming tomorrow, including a really fun The Faculty script lot! Oh, and 113%!
-
My sister and I are going to see the Once Upon a Time in H/W motion picture tomorrow at 5 p.m.
-
I think I finished the slide show. I was careful with my proofreading and only had to redo two slides out of 29....I double checked and triple checked my list to make sure everybody was included....
So.....it's now an official slideshow and I will upload it to YOUTube so that the tech director can add his PREVIEW of the show to it and we can let it run on the lobby tv....
I hope people like these little bios we do....no one ever says anything....but I can just hope.....
-
COMCAST is giving us a few days of preview for the EPIX Movie Channel.
It's a weird mix of very old and newer films....and lots of 70's exploitation stuff....
NONE of the films are restored in any way....so there's lots of fading and splicing, etc......
-
Picked up no packages and an important envelope. Did some banking. Had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and a side Caesar salad (probably not going out after the show), and am now relaxing. In thirty minutes I'll shave and shower, then I'll be on my way to the theater at seven.

Great! I don't tolerate the taste of low-fat or whole mild having had non-fat most of my life.
-
We went out to dinner and I had the salmon with a large side of coleslaw instead of potatoes. We also had an appetizer of delicious grilled Brussels sprouts & cauliflower. I splurged and had a little bit of bread. I feel stuffed and expect I gained something.

Is it? I hate non fat milk but we've been drinking it for years because of the recommendation from Vixdad's doctor
-
If you do a google search mostly you will find non-fat is better for you. I am now researching what DR John said about it.
-
I found this:

-
We will be watching an episode of SUITS from season one.
-
Good evening.
-
Jane, I thought at first you said you were going to watch SLUTS.
-
🤣
-
I shall now be on my way to the theater.
-
I shall now be on my way to Costco. Last week, I bought some protein shakes that are on sale now, but weren't when I bought them. I was told that I can get the difference back since it's so soon since I bought them, so I'm going to do that. :)
Be back later.
-
But before I go...
-
page 4!!!!
-
And NOW, I'm off!
-
Good evening, all.
-
I ushered tonight for Bobby Bones and the Raging Idiots. I left at intermission. His opening act, Emma Klein, was one of those singer-songwriters who has a good voice and really horrible music. Imagine new age chants. No melody. Just the same line repeated over and over and over again. Oh, and depressing, too.
-
We watched the first episode of THE BOYS and plan to continue watching this show.
-
It was a strangely irritating day.
-
Way too much happening at work, because so many people were out. I was at the downtown office, where everyone leaves at 2 on Friday. I was there until 5:30. And I was in meeting after meeting.
-
Got a lot of work done, but I still felt a little pissy. I had wanted to go out for lunch, but that wasn't possible because of the meetings.
-
Oh, well. It's over. Monday will be another work day.
-
Back to watching this weird French movie, L'Humanite, which is a murder mystery with a police detective who does not connect with other humans either physically or terribly emotionally. The nonactor in the lead role is a very sad-faced, wide-eyed individual. You can almost feel the character's thought processes in action.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
I watched an hour of L'Humanite. Only 30 minutes left. But not tonight.
-
I am falling asleep as I sit here.
-
Good night, all.
-
Got a lot of work done, but I still felt a little pissy. I had wanted to go out for lunch, but that wasn't possible because of the meetings.
Were you still able to eat?
-
DR George have you watched THE BOYS? It is a different take on superheroes.
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, Jane.
-
We are starting to get our predicted thunder and lightning storm.
-
The worst is expected around 2:00 am.
-

Yikes! :o

It is rare for the Pacific Northwest to have summer thunder storms at night.
-
We are starting to get our predicted thunder and lightning storm.
I hadn't heard anything about it, but it's REALLY thundering and lightning-ing!
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Way too much happening at work, because so many people were out. I was at the downtown office, where everyone leaves at 2 on Friday. I was there until 5:30. And I was in meeting after meeting.
My building closes at 7:00, but tonight I was the last person in the building by 6:00 pm.
-
We don’t have much thunder in Western Washington during the summer, but when we do have a storm it usually fades out when it gets dark.
-
DR George have you watched THE BOYS? It is a different take on superheroes.
Not yet. I do want to, though.
-
It is rare for the Pacific Northwest to have summer thunder storms at night.
It's global warming! It's Climate Change!! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!
-
It's raining now.
-
We already had some rumblings, but hopefully there will be more.

It's pretty cool. :)

I think Nick is getting to be a little hard of hearing.
-
He was napping on the bed when the thunder started, and he didn’t even flinch.

Very true...... and it is usually George.
Also, that person is also the one that spends the most time “trying out” all of the make-up available in the dressing room.
-
Neve doesn't seem too concerned, either. I even have my skylight open and it's been kind of loud at times.

George, did you usher tonight?
-
So, I bought this used (but in very good condition) DVD burner on eBay. It arrived today and I set it up. It has a hard drive that you can record onto, cut out commercials, and burn shows to DVD, like my other DVD burners. It arrived with a couple of movies still recorded on the hard drive! One is The Devil's Rain with William Shatner, and the other is The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming! with Carl Reiner and Alan Arkin. They were recorded onto this DVD burner in 2004! What's funny is that TDR[i/] was recorded from AMC and it has the commercials! ;D
-
George, did you usher tonight?
No. I stayed at work late to get all my time in for the day, then I went to Costco and got a few things, then came home and have been playing with my new (to me) DVD burner.
-
Good night, George.

Back from play and pie. Notes soon.

So, nobody used the free code to hear the Adriana audiobook???

So, nobody used the free code to hear the Adriana audiobook???
I didn't use it because I don't usually listen to talking books. I figured others do, and they would want it.
