Well, you've read the notes, the notes were audible, and now it is time for you to post until the audible cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: UTOPIAN!
-
First post after BK.
-
Today, the Olympia chapter of PFLAG is having their annual picnic. My sister wants me to help set up the picnic area before it starts, so I will. I won't stay for it this year because my friend Margo and I are going to see the 1:35 showing of The Art of Racing in the Rain. A local theater group last year did a stage production and it was wonderful.
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
First East Coast post.
-
I have lots to catch up on, not just on HHW. Sorry for my E&T-ness.
-
Jeanne, there had been a nicely done video of the production that was at Bard College, which started the revival on its way to Brooklyn and then Broadway, but I guess it was taken down when the commercial plans started. (But it's not where it was now. rules for video-ing may have been different when it was a Bard College production rather than a commercial production???).

YIKES.....in my post about OUATIH.....yesterday I wrote that the actress playing Sharon Tate was "NOT lovely" when I meant to write she is "QUITE lovely".....
Maybe I should blame spell check.
-
I also noticed that the ambulance at the end of the film is from the Schaefer Ambulance Co. which is the company that picked up Miss Marilyn Monroe's body from her home after her "suicide."
-
Good morning, all.
-

You should credit the Vixmon Skool of Typping.
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR TCB, your home looks quite lovely. I was going to ask about the guest room, but you clearly haven't one. Yet.
-
Another day with no plans. I believe I will pull more books.
-
Good morning!
-
Going to the 50th Anniversary screening of "Hello, Dolly" later! It should be fun. There will be six of us.
-
Love your living room, TCB!
-
I never cared much for the Brian Donlevy "Quatermass" movies, but there was one without Donlevy --set in the London subway system -- that was very good.
Don't recall the title.
-
We are going to a birthday party today for a three-year-old.
Hopefully, I won't have to wear a pointed hat.
-
We watched 2 movies last night, both excellent.
1. TEACHERS w/Nick Nolte
2. AND THEN THERE WERE NONE w/Louis Hayward and Barry Fitzgerald.
-
Last night we watched the first half of Carry On Cowboy, a fantastic parody with a bunch of excellent British farceurs attempting cowboy accents. Kenneth Williams is wonderful as the judge needing a marshal to rid his town of the Rumpo Kid and his gang and Jim Dale plays a bumbling drainage expert, Marshall P. Knutt, who's mistaken for the new peace maker. Jon Pertwee as nearly deaf and blind Sheriff Earp has a brilliant slapstick turn before he is gunned down by the Rumpo Kid.
-
Patrol was short. The elevator is out this morning, and I'm not up to walking three flights today.
-
Good morning, all.

This sounds delightful, DR Elmore.

So I’m here to say that the audio book is really good.
I hope it does well and that BK will carry on with more of these. I left a review that will hopefully show up sometime this century and perhaps even help to sell a few more copies.
-
DR TCB thank goodness the U-haul did not hit you.
I am curious now to see what your parking spot looks like making it more convenient to back in.
We too can back our cars in our parking garage, but then it wouldn't make sense not to here.

Fast working elevator vibes for DR elmore.

I kind of wish I were spending the day at home, but I promised to attend the closing matinee of the WEST SIDE STORY that I subbed for at their sitzprobe last week, and they're comping me, so, yadda yadda... and I need to see a couple of the musicians anyway, so...
-
Enjoy your day.

You and Velma ain't dumb DR CHAS SMITH.

Now here is a tip - not particularly for all we millionaires here at HHW - but you can pass it along to your poor relatives. :D
I love my car - but it IS 15 years old. A few years ago my brother Dane used one of those kits to try to get the lenses on my headlights clean because they were very cloudy. He had to use sandpaper and some kind of formula on it....and it wasn't so hot. :-\
I mentioned this to my older brother Mike on Friday. He texted me to tell me that my nephew Paul suggested the toothpaste rub....use a soft dry cloth and TOOTHPASTE....rub for a few minutes. :o
Then use a wet cloth to wipe off the lens.
Well, folks, they look like new! I highly recommend the Ultra Brite treatment if anyone has cloudy headlight lenses..... 8)

Its a beautiful day

I just finished what is hopefully the final draft of my Annabelle & Thatch book. After all the rejections last year, I wanted to revise the manuscript, and I think it's much better for all that. We'll see.
-
Let me know how it works for you DR VIXMOM!
-
Thanks DR JANE - we do what we can.
-
I am off to the board meeting which will be preceded by the Executive Committee meeting about YOU KNOW WHO and YOU KNOW WHAT.

Watching an old Kirk Douglas western called Man Without a Star. Interesting how many ladies of the evening are this film.

He's now singing with a banjo. Odd.

I"m up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep.

120%!!!

The meeting went well and the wish from the two geniuses that they never work at our theatre again will be granted.....
-
I am off for two days.....no rehearsal until Wednesday because SHREK really needs to use the Rehearsal Center since everyone is in costume and Tuesday is family photo night....they can't sit in the audience in their costumes.....
-
I am thinking about having my oil changed....well the oil in my car....I'm still about 900 miles away from the sticker mileage....but it can't hurt.

The elevator is finally running, so I've taken the garbage to the basement. Our landlord has been high on my shit list since that entire eviction nonsense, but at the moment they really suck. We've had no super for the past four months, only an interim who sends worker to clean, etc. Well, no one's taken care of the laundry room in a week and it is disgusting with bags of trash, furniture, cardboard cartons piled up everywhere.
-
Good afternoon.

ChasSmith's review on Audible is up:
A most delightful Adriana!
I am very familiar with Bruce Kimmel’s Adriana Hofstetter mysteries and have previously reviewed the books themselves on Amazon. These are my comments on the Audible edition.
When I heard there was to be an audio version of the latest book in the series, I couldn’t wait to listen because these stories are perfect candidates for this treatment. And I’m very happy to say that Moira Todd’s reading is a delight. She possesses a lovely clear voice that beautifully captures the character of Adriana and the world around her. Character dialogue is voiced with just enough distinction for this listener’s taste, and the reading is eminently listenable overall, successfully bringing a favorite series to life.
The Adriana books are highly recommended for younger and older readers alike, and I hope many more Audible editions will follow. Kudos to Bruce Kimmel and to Moira Todd for such a lovely start.

Excellent. And to confirm, one of those geniuses is the director?

And another thank-ye for DR Jrand68. I really need to do this for my SEVENTEEN-year-old, and I'd recently researched the best kits to buy. I'll try this method first, before dropping a double sawbuck. If I still buy one, it'll be one of those in which you can mount the pads on a drill.
-
DR Elmore, I look forward to giving those final tweaks a listen. It'll happen later in the coming week, but it's on my list.

Tonight Stella finally did it. She jumped into the bathwater. She was unpleasantly surprised, and I don't think she will ever do it again.
-
I did something I've been threatening to do for the past three years - I cleaned out the trunk of my car!

Funny. Was she able to get out on her own or did you have to rescue her?

I finally purchased a new Samsung Tab A 8". The battery should last longer & it has a bluelight option which I am hoping will reduce my headaches/mild migraines.
Keith talked me out of taking my tablet with me to Best Buy. When the very helpful Samsung person told me the new tablet is the same size as my old one I didn't completely believe her but did not pursue without proof. Now I need to find a cover that fits the new size. My big issue is that I do not like the new shape which is wide screen for movie viewing but more narrow for book reading unless I hold the tablet sideways. I hate doing that since books are not shaped that way. I also can't find a tablet cover I want.
Oh, the little irritants in life. Fingers crossed the bluelight helps as I am a bit fed up with these migraines.
-
I also thought the latest tablet version was 2018 & found out it is 2017. I made decide to return it and see if I can keep my current tablet from dying until the next update is released.
-
I shall now be on my way to see a club act, then sup.
-
Two members of our bible study group were not able to make it tonight, so we just watched a couple of movies instead. The first was a Harold Lloyd short called Take a Chance. It was truly funny. Choreographed to within an inch of its life.
-
We need something funny. One member just found out that her daughter's breast cancer has returned and metastasized. Needless to say, she's incredibly upset by the news.
-
There doesn't seem to be a treatment available.
-
Her daughter and son-in-law are of the opinion that they aren't going to tell their children, one of whom is headed off to Dublin for school. The other is in high school.
-
So, she needed a little escapism. The feature was Murder on the Nile, which I hadn't seen since it came out in 1978. Angela Lansbury was fun, but she looked like she was wearing her Nellie Lovett makeup and someone else's hair.
-
Vixdad and I went to a Retrogamng Convention today
-
I really wasn't interested but went along to spend time with Vixdad
-
It was so much fun!
-
They had all sorts of pinball machines and arcade games and old video games set up
-
All free play
-
The all-star cast included David Niven, Bette Davis, Maggie Smith, George Kennedy, Olivia Hussey, Mia Farrow, Simon McCorkindale, Lois Chiles and Jane Birkin as well as Peter Ustinov in his first outing as Poirot.
Smith and Birkin were back with Ustinov in Evil Under the Sun.
-
I haven't played pinball in close to 40 years....I had so much fun...all the kids there had no idea how to play or how it worked
-
They had all sorts of pinball machines and arcade games and old video games set up
My new uberboss (well, three levels up) introduced himself to our team the other day. He said his hobby was restoring pinball machines. s
-
Then I got to play Pacman
-
And centipede
-
And space invaders
-
And frogger
-
Then we found the coleco consoles ...Remember Pong?
-
The convention was at The Cradle of Aviation, the same place we went fir the. -Apollo 11 50 yesterday gala a few weeks ago
-
So we also get t to look at some more of the museum exhibits
-
I am so sorry about your friends daughter, John
-
I am so sorry about your friends daughter, John
Thank you, Vixmom.
-
I needed some more laughs. I'm watching a Royal Shakespeare Company production of Twelfth Night. The Feste is excellent. The Malvolio is unctuous and the Sir Toby Belch is more given to farting than belching. All wonderful.
-
Vixmom, your day sounds wonderful.
-
Good night, all.

I bought one of those kits, too, but I haven't even opened it, yet. I did, however, hear from several people about using toothpaste, but I haven't tried that, either. ::)

DR TCB, your home looks quite lovely. I was going to ask about the guest room, but you clearly haven't one. Yet.
I am sorry, Elmore; but there is only the one bed for the moment.

Forgive me, John, but the movie would have to be DEATH ON THE NILE. The movie is based on the book and the play that was MURDER ON THE NILE.
-
Also, the book and the play do not have the character of Hercule Poirot. The acting sleuth in the book and play is Canon Pennyfeather. Agatha Christie said she had grown tired of using the character of Poirot.
-
Pennyfeather was changed to Poirot for the movie.

Hey, Bros! Have you been behaving or have you been naughty?

Back from a club act, which I'll talk about another time, but not in the notes, and then food at the Coral Cafe. Show started twenty five minutes late because the event before the show ran long and instead of getting into the club at 7:30 we didn't get in until eight for an eight-fifteen show.
-
Now to write some notes.
-
That's too bed.
No, only one bed.
-
Hey, Bros! Have you been behaving or have you been naughty?
Hey! How are you, Mama?
-
I am too old and too tired to misbehave.
-
You have certainly not been posting much the last several days. Are you getting tired of us so soon?
-
That's too bed.
No, only one bed.
Oops. Previous post fixed. ;)

NEVER! I have been so boring I didn't want to bother you.

NEVER! I have been so boring I didn't want to bother you.
Never a bother!
-
I like your living room. Now I want to see it in person.

Agreed!

I am too old and too tired to misbehave.
Ditto. ::)
-
I think George said you were bothering him, but certainly not me.
-
And I want to see George while he's swinging his pearls.

Not true!
-
I like your living room. Now I want to see it in person.
Unfortunately, the rest of the place is not finished yet.
-
And I want to see George while he's swinging his pearls.
That's gonna be a long wait, I'm afraid.
-
I'll see your old and tired and raise you gimpy.
-
Well, my friends, it is bedtime for me. Good night, you two!
-
Baby, did you lose your pearls?
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Baby, did you lose your pearls?
No. I've had change of style. ;)
-
OOOOOHHHHHH Classy or trashy?
-
Fabulous or fishnets?
-
OOOOOHHHHHH Classy or trashy?
To quote Don Lockwood, "Class...always class."
;D
-
Diamonds or daggers?
-
Fabulous or fishnets?
I have worn fishnets before...in two different shows.
-

But not tonight. Talk later.

Anytime. :)

I hate to do it, but I must be off, too. I think I have a meeting tomorrow, but I don't remember. :-\ I guess I just need to get my butt (and the rest of me, too) to bed earlier so that I can get out of bed earlier so that I can get to work earlier...just in case. And so I shall.
Have a good day, all!
