Well, you've read the notes, the notes did not win a Scenie but gave 155%, and now it is time for you to post until the Scenie Award-winning cows come home.

Hi, guys.  I wanted to some good news for me.  Today the doctor confirmed that the hand tremors I have developed is not Parkinson's, but a genetic condition from my grandma.  It's not bad but we will keep an eye on it.

I have nothing much to report this morning.  I've got various things to do around the apartment, like clean up all the toilet paper Stella has shredded and vacuum. I think I'll be spending much time between now and Sunday cleaning out drawers anmd tossing junk.

I also have a problem, with this damned Microsoft Office that replaced Microsoft Word: people are getting documents from me they cannot open, and i am too technologically challeneged to solve the issue.

I’m kind of brain dead when it comes to dishes involving eggs, but I can say that in this household we’re enjoying something of a renewal of our love for eggs in general, and in particular:

Pickled eggs, deviled eggs, and I’m ready to jump into making egg salad, which, believe it or not, I’ve never done. So, “snack” or “side dish” eggs. “Lunch” eggs. They’re all the rage.

Eggs?
Scrambled, hard-boiled, fried, poached, omelette, deviled
I love my Alice sandwich: scrambled egg on whole wheat bread with watercress, sprouts, and ranch dressing
custard
I have this very vague memory of my mother making mac'n'cheese with hard boiled eggs baked into the mix

First I sautéed sweet onions, sliced mushrooms, sliced sweet peppers in a little butter

When it is all lovely and soft and browning nicely put in a dish and add a little more butter to the skillet

Use medium heat

2 eggs, a drop of cold water and then beat the mixture with a whisk until it is frothy
Then gently pour into the hot skillet

Sprinkle liberally with Penzeys sunny Paris

Let it slowly cook covered,  just nudging around the edges with a spatula occasionally so it doesn't stick

When the bottom shows it's starting to get a little golden brown and the top a little solid,  add the sautéed veggies

And a slice or 2 of muesnster cheese

Once the cheese starts to melt add some Braswells vidalia onion and summer tomatoe dressing

Flip it in half and gently slide  on heated plate

My dad's mother in her Appalachian Bean Holler farm regularly pickled green beans, corn, and eggs.  I loved the corn and beans, but the eggs, pickled in huge clear glass jars and stored with other canned foodstuffs in the smoke house, terrified me.

Last night Jane asked how I got home yesterday.

One of the staff called the office that schedules rides as part of my insurance benefits. She called at 4:50, but they could only schedule rides for the next ten minutes. As if life stops at 5pm! She was able to obtain an after-hours phone number, though, which I was able to use successfully, ie, the phone was answered and by a knowledgable person. They called Lyft and a driver was in front of the building before I could even get downstairs. One of the nurses escorted me to the car.

I really like this benefit. The first year I had it I kind of scoffed at it, thinking I didn't need it,  and didn't use it. The year I had eye surgery the benefit had been discontinued--and, man, I could have used it! So many trips back and forth to UCLA! I was very glad when it was reinstated. I use it a lot now. Yesterday I wasn't allowed to drive myself home and when I see the ophthalmologist they usually want to dilate me. I have no desire to drive while dilated. I hope to keep the benefit.

I'm back from lunch, but I didn't have an omelet.  I had Denny's new Southwest Chorizo Burger (https://www.dennys.com/food/featured/southwest-chorizo-burger/).  It was pretty good...a little dry and I think it sat around waiting as the other items in our group were being prepared so that they could all be served at the same time, but I think if it was fresh off the grill, it'd be very good. :)

They use several different ride firms and usually ask if you have a preference. I've had good luck with Lyft and continue to use it.

No, there's no opportunity to tip online that I'm aware of. Knowing that, I tip in cash.

Actually, getting home from the hospital can be a problem. If you call 911 you may not think quickly enough to grab money or a credit card--or may not be able to. I don't know what happens when you need to get home and no funds to do so. You're not always able to reach a friend or family member.

Yes, especially all plans for seniors. The Medicare Advantage market is very competitive; once one company offers a new benefit the others tend to follow suit.

Back from the warehouse - spent almost three hours there - but found some really good stuff that I needed for next year's book and for perks.  And a few K'land titles I was told we were completely out of that we, in fact, have a lot of.

Oh, and 158%.  Today's goal: 160% - we can DO it - and then to infinity and beyond.

Grammy Jane, thank you for the link, it was very helpful.  I admit after the not Parkinson's, I kinda tuned out and forgot what else the doctor was saying.  She wanted to check if my gait had changes from the last appointment so she had me walk down the hall, turn, and walk back.  Apparently I did quite a turn and got applause from the staff.  So I flung out out my arms, sashayed and said I was studying to be a drag queen.

I thing the ride option from your insurance is wonderful & all insurance plans should offer it.

Yes, especially all plans for seniors. The Medicare Advantage market is very competitive; once one company offers a new benefit the others tend to follow suit.

I should find out if we have it though I hope never to need it.

DR Jeanne have you given a spare key to a friend in case of an emergency?  I suppose though you would have to be able to reach them in an emergency.

Yes, a neighbor has my spare key, but he doesn't drive.

At least he could let someone in to collect things you might need if you were unexpectedly detained in a hospital.  Hopefully that will never happen.

Put up one new perk - a photocopy of the original opening night piano/conductor score for the infamous B'way production of Carrie - huge - many, many pages in a big binder.  These simply don't show up and I know I priced it too low so if anyone's interested, you have a jump as I haven't announced it anywhere.  I also have four versions of cover art Harvey Schmidt did for Colette Collage - the one that's missing is the one we used.  These are really cooliscious.  I think what he did was Xerox his art and hand paint each version - so it's original art and they're really cool.  Here's what I need to know - do I put them up as a lot or separately?

I would suggest individually.  I would think you can price them a little higher for each than the price for all of them.  That would give more people the chance to contribute something instead of only one person needing to contribute a much larger amount.  Just my 2¢.

I agree with George.  Another option would be to offer them individually or the set for a slightly better price.

I concur with George and Jane. $200 or $250 is fair, I think. I see original artwork by no-names priced at that. $300 might not be unreasonable, either. They're small? Unframed?

I think get the most money in this case.  That way, the set will end up where someone really wants them.

That does seem unusual.  The cost of adding another sidewalk after the fact is probablu more than they want to spend.

Is the curb difficult for you?

Sometimes cost effectiveness shouldn't be an issue.  They should do it because it needs to be done.
