Well, you've read the notes, the notes dreamed the impossible dream and gave 200%, and now it is time for you to post until the impossible cows come home - they're very offended by the Impossible Burger.
-
And the word of the day is: SANGUINE!
-
First post after BK.
-
And here's BK's 101010th!
-
And to ketchup on yesterday's posts, jan asked, "Hi, George, how was your day? Mine was weird."
My day was kind of busy. It's the end of the month time where I need to compile all the invoices that need to be paid and put together a report for the finance office. They don't want photocopies anymore, they only want PDF scans of everything, so this is now the second month where I'm doing that. It's VERY time consuming. :P
-
So jan, what was weird about your day?
-
BK, congratulations on your 200% and your 101010.
-
jan, this is the topical.

Good night
-
Good night, Tom.

Well, George, when I went for a doctor appointment last week, my blood pressure was 95 over 60. Since it's usually 120 over 80, my doc told me to take only half of my bp meds and come back today to recheck my bp. So after a week of half pills, my bp was 88 over 55, even lower, so she said to stop taking the pills altogether and come back in a week for another check. Then my allergies started going crazy so I took an allergy pill. Two hours later, I woke up and had a very healthy dinner of a blueberry muffin and a bag of popcorn. :D So here I am and I'm ready to go to bed.

Yikes! Talk about a roller coaster! :o Hopefully, it can all get figured out!
-
So I will say good night.
-
But the blueberry muffin and a bag of popcorn sound good.

At work, we used to have an annual summer barbecue every August, just for the fun of it. The admin provided the meat, and we provided everything else. But something's happened over the last couple of years, and we can't have an actual barbecue anymore. So, tomorrow, we're going to have a summer potluck instead. It'll still be fun, I'm sure! Quite a few people did sign up to bring things. I'm bringing several different kinds of drinks...and of course, no alcohol. I didn't look at the list to see what anyone else in bringing, so it'll all be a surprise!
-
But first, sleep, which is where I'm headed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have to be out of here by 8:00 for my pre-surgery lab work.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Congrats to BK on the 200%!
Are those fees in line with those of the other crowdfunding sites? Talk about a racket. I mean, crowdfunding is a great thing, but sheesh!
-
And here's BK's 101010th!
How...binary!
-
I saw that Betty Grable excerpt when someone posted it on FB the other day, and it’s astounding. Too bad the movie itself is nothing great. But wow.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Normal blood pressure vibes for jan.
-
Lab work vibes for Elmore.
-
Happy vibes for all.
-
Here’s a movie that IS great: PILLOW TALK, presented to perfection on the big screen, and with an audience. Holy moley. Talk about a pinnacle of mid-century entertainment of its type. It was just “wow”...from the Universal logo to the very end. I never thought I’d feel so strongly about it. Splendid in every respect.
-
Good morning
-
Presurgery exam vibes for elmore
-
What day is the surgery?

Congrats to MR BK on his millstone AND the 200%!
-
Getting the commentary right vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
It is a lovely day today. I feel much better, having a sore throat is better than coughing at lot!
-
What day is the surgery?
Sept. 12.
-
I am home. Stella has demolished a roll of toilet paper.

Hey vixmom, ICON Parking Expert Supremo:
The garage on West 83rd between B'way and Amsterdam is where I usually park when calling on Her Majesty, Thatch, et al, since street parking is nearly impossible to score these days.
I think their $45 for several hours during the day on Friday is typical, and probably as good as I've done at that location. (Parking in midtown is a breeze in comparison!) But do you see any way to discount that price? If not, that's cool, but it occurred to me to ask.
I thought I was signed up to receive mailings from them but I now realize I haven't received any in months.

Did it help the area you pulled yesterday? Like DR Jan I am tempted to try something like it on my hip.

Wow. Do you have a good blood pressure kit to use at home? I think you should track it yourself.

I just had a phone call from 986-881-5048. It seems my Social Security has been closed and I am a wanted criminal. To speak to a rep, press 1. The phishing asshole clearly spoke English as a second language, and he hung up as soon as I said I was reportng his phone number to Social Security!
-
Wednesday morning greetings! Sorry I didn't check in here yesterday. I went to a noon discussion of David McCullough's The Pioneers at the public library in Hamilton and then to a workshop about the Family Search database at 2pm at the public library here in Middletown. Richard and I went to a fundraiser dinner at Chipotle for Springboro High School marching band because great-nephew Nathan is now a member. I crashed pretty early last night.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
That took forever to post.
-
I've alerted our host.
-
That was quick.

Good morning.

206%! On our way to covering fees.

206%! On our way to covering fees.
Wonderful!
-
I shall shortly be on my way to do three commentaries and then sup.
-
I was remembering the very first crowdfunding campaign I did - the Kickstarter for Nudie Musical - which was also for 5K and which we barely made - and wouldn't have if it wasn't for a dear reader. That estimate, too, turned out to be way too low, but I didn't know how to do this back then - the total cost for Nudie was closer to 14K and I had to make up that difference.

If you download their app on your phone you should get a $10 discount on your first reservation scheduled on the app. I think you might also get discounted fees using the app

When I came home for lunch it was in torrential rain
-
Soon after I got here all the nights went out
-
Fortunately not before I heated up my leftovers for lunch ( I have an electric stove)
-
So I ate my lunch in a romantically dim house
-
But the electric came back a few moments ago so I’ve reset the clocks and reconnected to the interwebs
-
There were 4 packages delivered today and fortunately the mailman put them in the it plastic deck box we have their for exactly that purpose
-
Often we find packages , next to or even on top if the box
-
Right on top of the 8x11 pink fluorescent sign stating in bold , bkack, capital letters
please put packages inside this box
-
Well I must get me back to work
-
Congratulations to BK on your binary achievement
-
Feel better everyone, that’s an order
-
Congrats to BK on the 200%!
Are those fees in line with those of the other crowdfunding sites? Talk about a racket. I mean, crowdfunding is a great thing, but sheesh!
With Indiegogo, the fees are higher if you set up your campaign with the Flexible Goal, which means, "This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its funding goal." If you set it up so that you only get the money IF the campaign meets its goal, then the fees are lower.

I made this comment on Facebook: I used to do a radio show, so some times I would answer spam calls with, "Hello, you are on the air!" Click! ;)

Thanks! I found I had the app already, and I must have used it before because they're offering me nothing. But I enrolled in the rewards program, which I had not been in, so that'll get me started.

I just put 5 of the 7 cartons out in the hall for Friday's pickup. We'll see if the scumbag ass with the bike across the hall complains. I expect him to run to management tomorrow.
-
I got back to the office to find they had also lost power while I was out to lunch
-
Fortunately I had saved and closed out of my documents before I left for lunch

Sooo, they kept the money or returned it if the goal wasn't reached?

Keith's cousin was planning to spend the holiday weekend with us. She dropped something on her big toe today. Urgent care told her the bone is shattered. She has an appointment with an orthopedist tomorrow. Fortunately Delta gave her credit with one year to use it.

The money isn't taken from the supporters until it ends, and only if it meets the goal. If it doesn't meet the goal by the end of the campaign, no money is taken from anyone.

Thanks for explaining.

Almost finished with What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? I guess it's scary, but I'm finding it more pathetic than anything. Th.Heir dysfunctional relationship is what's truly horrifying. It's an ugly story with some great acting. Bette Davis is incredible.
-
"dysfunctional relationship is what's truly horrifying" is the reason I have never watched it. That & the fact the clips I have seen were very scary.
-
Congrats to BK on 206% and his milestone!
-
FYI, ancestry.com has free yearbook searches for the next few days.

DR Laura--your grandson is so cute!

One more...

-
Hi, Kevin!
-
Bye, Kevin! I'm leaving work and going to my parents' house to help my dad with his new headphones. Something's wrong and would like me to help, which I'm happy to do.
Be back later.
-
Laura you grandson us gorgeous!
-
Starting a bad copy of Indiscretion of an American Wife. I wish the library had bought the Criterion version with the unedited Terminal Station in it. Montgomery Clift is excellent. Jennifer Jones is charming. It may be too serious for the mood I'm in.
-
Finally back from the marathon commentary session. I'm EXHAUSTED. I got through the first one fine - they'll edit out my couple of throat clearing episodes. I gave a complete history of the film from the time I got the idea through what happened after. I also stopped occasionally to talk about the actors and what was happening on screen. I only had to vamp a little towards the end.
-
I rested for thirty minutes, then Cindy arrived and we did ours. That was very loose and we talked about us, our history, Nudie, all her film and TV work, her stage work, and, of course how it was to do The Creature. It's pretty funny at times. I would have to keep her going because she had never actually seen the film in its finished form (meaning my cut) and she was watching and laughing at things as we went.
-
Then it was another thirty-minute break and Marshall arrived and we did ours on the release version. My voice, surprisingly, pretty much held up throughout the four-and-a-half HOURS of non-stop gabbing. The Marshall commentary was a lot about editing, the stupid decisions that were made with the film, the nature of film comedy, and of course a few funny rants about the Internet and Facebook.
-
Then we all convened at the Smoke House and had a lovely dinner, which I really needed and, frankly, deserved. I had the small filet (less than 700 calories), creamed spinach, and a little Caesar, plus a few pieces of the garlic cheese bread. We had a great time, then I drove Cindy to where she's staying. And then I stopped at Gelson's for a sweet treat, to celebrate the productive and fun and EXHAUSTING day.
-
Sounds like a great day, BK.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!

A question for the carnivores out there: Do you like chicken salad with hard-boiled egg in it?
This seems to be in the copy cat version of Chik-fil-A's recipes.
To me, it's just another reason not to eat there.
-
I have been looking at chicken salad recipes tonight. Too many have grapes in them. Too sweet. One even went so far as to add brown sugar to all those grapes.
-
I came down to a choice of two. One has pear, apple, pecans and thyme in it. Sort of a fall chicken salad.
The other has avocado in it.
-
Good night, all.

Whe we moved here and were living in hotels, eating healthy vegetarian became impossible. A few times I ordered a chicken salad sandwich with dried cranberries. It was delicious.

I have a book to finish reading.

Well, I went to my parents' house, but I couldn't figure out what was wrong with the headphones. :-\
-
I suggested letting them charge up overnight.
-
The instruction booklet, while in appropriate English, didn't seem to have the answers to my questions, so we'll see what it's like in the morning.
-
Hopefully, I won't have to send them back.
-
Good luck.
-
I finishec my book and can now begin the lastest David Rosenfelt book I have been looking forward to.
-
It hasn't been long enough for anything to really go wrong.
-
Good luck.
Thanks, Jane.

I've never actually had chicken salad, with or without hard-boiled egg in it.

I've only had egg salad with hard-boiled eggs in it. ;)

-
Tonight I watch the remake of THE TIME MACHINE.
-
Hi, George.
-
The movie was okay, as long as I didn’t compare it to the original.
-
And Guy Pierce is okay looking, but he is no Rod Taylor.
-
Tomorrow is my doctor’s appointment in the morning and a memorial service in the afternoon.
-
Well,I have driven George away, so I shall say......
Good night.

No, I wasn't driven away, Tom. I went downstairs to get a late night snack.
