Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not so long, and now it is time for you to post until the not so long cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PERSPICACIOUS!
-
First post after BK.
-
Is the play you are reading, THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER?
-
First post after Tom.
-
Off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
No, it's a play we'll be doing early next year, right after Dinner.
-
Doing A Play After Dinner - that's the title of the third volume of my memoirs.
-
Pain free vibes for DR TCB.
-
What a lovely photo of DR ELMORE & DC STELLA! Thank you DR CHAS SMITH. I look forward to more.
-
My round steak/vegetables turned out very well. I shall be eating it all day today.....and if I am not a HOG, I will have some left for tomorrow.

TOD:
Foreign Sex Kittens:
Miss Bardot, of course, who is in a class by herself.
But for me - close to her is Miss Mylène Demongeot who is so beautiful and natural and a fine actress - especially in BONJOUR TRISTESSE where she blows Jean Seberg off the screen...
Homegrown:
Miss Tuesday Weld
-
And of course the old joke is that if Tuesday Weld married Fredric March's son, she would be Tuesday March 2nd.
Now DR FJL won't have to post it.....I am assuming of course that he is old enough to have heard the joke....
-
BK,
Please say "hello" to Bill Hayes for me. Nice, talented man.
We did a publicity gig together with my client, Abe Vigoda, a few years ago.
-
Keith Partridge is flunking sex education on The Partridge Family....
-
I ordered a proof of my new book from Amazon; paid for 2 day delivery. It was supposed to arrive today.
This morning, I got a notice that package was sent to Houston, instead of Austin, by mistake, so it probably won't be here until Tuesday. :(
Yes, they have refunded the shipping fee, but I'd rather have the book today. :(
-
T.O.D.
Sex kittens?
Are we talking about cats or Ann-Margret?
-
DR George having to play the same scenes over sounds intriguing.
-
Good morning, all!
-
My legs got quite a workout yesterday and the pain was so bad last night that after taking three Aleve PM tablets, 2 Tylenol, a naproxin, and a tizanidine were no help at all. I'm taking it easy today.
-
DR Chassmith, I love the photo you posted! I really enjoyed our visit, and I'm happy you got home safely.
-
DR George, break a leg today! I hope your play draws big crowds.
-
DR TCB, I hope the end of today finds you feeling wonderful. I sorry you injured yourself.
-
Tuesday Weld! Definitely.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I never saw PLAY IT AS IT LAYS and didn’t know Tuesday Weld and Anthony Perkins had made two (2) films together.
PRETTY POISON is great fun, and I believe that’s the one she thought she was horrible in, but she’s absolutely wonderful.
-
DR Chassmith, I love the photo you posted! I really enjoyed our visit, and I'm happy you got home safely.
Greatly enjoyed it, myself, and I’m sorry your legs haven’t recovered!
There are several more pictures to post, but the syncing up between all of my devices hasn’t completed yet. I have no idea what’s up with that, but I can do it later today from my Windows computer when I’m back from the matinee I’m sitting in on.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Nine hours of sleep. Nice.
-
Let’s move on ...
-
Two!

TOD:
I don’t see Rita Hayworth so much as a sex kitten but a goddess, I guess.
Jane Fonda
Tuesday Weld
Ann-Margaret

Pain free vibes for DR TCB.
DITTO!

DR TCB I am sorry you missed the memorial service.

Oh my. Is it even safe to mix all of those?
FEEL BETTER TODAY AS YOU REST!
-
I was sorry to read about Valerie Harper. I always enjoyed her television performances.
She made a TV-Movie about a woman being pursued by a killer....she was driving a station wagon at night....it was very tense and scary.....
-
Good morning!
-
Love the photo of DR elmore and Stella!
-
Vibes for TCB.
-
I'm ushering in a few for a memorial service for Jim Cullum. I have a feeling we're in for some good jazz this afternoon.
-
Good afternoon, it is a beautiful summer day herein downtown NYC
-
I am sitting at a communal table drinking a “super green” here on Bleecker street, watching the (exceedly good looking) young waiters with flowers in their hair, serving the other patrons their organic meals
-
I am in touch with my inner minelllia
-
I plan to meet some FB friends and attend music show this evening
-
And it is indeed a lovely lovely day
-
The weather is perfect and I am happy to be out in it
-
They’re playing Led Zepplin

Sunshine of your love

Excellent picture of Daddy and Stella yesterday

And of course the old joke is that if Tuesday Weld married Fredric March's son, she would be Tuesday March 2nd.
Now DR FJL won't have to post it.....I am assuming of course that he is old enough to have heard the joke....
I hadn't heard that one.
But wasn't there a Tuesday Wednesday on The Flintstones, and a joke like "Hey Tuesday Wednesday, what are you doing Saturday?"
-
Wasn't she the Tuesday in the hit song "Groovy Tuesday?"
-
Were there any kittens in the animated film :"Gay Purr-ee"
-
Hello, everyone.
-
What a lovely photo of DR ELMORE & DC STELLA! Thank you DR CHAS SMITH. I look forward to more.
Ditto.

TCB, I'm glad the
TCB CBD cream is working so well for you. I couldn't find anyone locally who had that brand. The one I tried (CBD only) was effective, but I couldn't live with the strong smell. I gave it to my neighbor, who had fallen and hurt his leg. It helped him and he didn't mind the smell at all. I guess some of us are just sensitive smellers.
-
Larry, can you purchase some locally or online? I'm guessing that TCB's brand--Solace-- is a bit stronger as it contains some THC.
-
I am in touch with my inner minelllia
?? I'm now hip to who buster is and what gS means, but minelllia?
-
In touch with her inner millennial, I bet.
-
this is so much more interesting than standard English.
-
Larry, did the boric acid powder work? Were you able to get rid of the bugs?
-
Laundry is done for the day. I'm sure you're all just thrilled. But we need more posts.
-
Bruce, will you tell us anything about the musical you're assisting with?
-
Must take care of a few other things.
Enjoy your day, everyone.
TTFN.

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep, due to being up at seven for forty-five minutes.

I'm helping with a musical based on an eighties film - there was a reading of act one three years ago that was truly one of the worst things I've ever seen. I knew everyone involved. They had no director at that point. I met with them, they asked me to help and I said I would. The composer, who's a friend, kept missing deadlines we'd give - excuse after excuse and he was going through some difficult times so we all just waited. But here we are over two years after I agreed to help and not much further along. About two months ago, one of the book writers (who also wrote the screenplay) had had it and, without actually telling me he was going to do it, even though we'd all been discussing it for ages, including with the composer) he said I was going to be writing some of the songs starting now.
-
The composer said he was okay with that. I wrote the music for a song I'd asked for, when the lyric was sent to me. I wrote it in ten minutes. They all loved it. Then suddenly our composer started sending song after song, probably so I wouldn't have a chance to get any others. The problem was, and it was the problem we've been fighting since day one - they all sounded the same and they were not right musically for these characters and this show - I'd had very long work sessions with he and the lyricist, he'd do the changes I asked for right on the spot, record them, and then we'd never hear them again. It was very frustrating. Everyone saw what he was trying to do, but still we waited before I did anything else. He sent lead sheets on stuff we hadn't heard yet - and a pianist came here two weeks ago and played through and it truly was hopeless. The composer had also moved out of LA so all this was long distance, and the writer who'd told him I would be doing some of the music, finally put an end to it. This is not something I wanted to really do, but I at least "get" the world of the show and its characters.
-
So, the plan is that I'll keep anything I like of his and then rewrite everything else. He had a nice hook for what will be the opening song - I kept that one line, but changed some notes so it didn't go to crazy places. I kept the first line of another song (again changing some notes), but that's all so far. I've completed the opening number, the two I'd done on my own prior to all this, another number that I thought we needed, and the almost complete rewrite of another, as well as almost being done with the act one finale. And that's all in about six days.
-
In touch with her inner millennial, I bet.
Thanks for the translation, for the phone keys are tiny and my fingers are fat
-
Larry, did the boric acid powder work? Were you able to get rid of the bugs?
It's a work in progress.
-
So let's have a little more photographic evidence, shall we?
-
I think this one would have gone home with me. :)
-
.
-
Might be one or two others. Have to finish going through them.
-
Anyhoo, I'm back from the Westport Country Playhouse where I sat in the pit through what sounds like a pretty fine production of THE LITTLE MERMAID. I wouldn't even mind seeing it, so maybe I'll do that next week.
I'm playing the two Saturday shows next weekend and am going back tomorrow afternoon for a little more observation.

Beautiful Stella.

Thatch & Stella look striking with each other.

Those are great photos, DR ChasSmith! Thank you.
We need to find a date for you to come in and patrol with Annabelle and me!

I know! It'll certainly be an adventure!!
-
DR George, break a leg today! I hope your play draws big crowds.
Thanks, Larry, so do I! But the show doesn't actually happen for two more weeks. :)
-
Oh, I didn't think about the need for a large audience with this.
-
Large crowd vibes!
-
Yes interesting show concept DR GEORGE.....we will of course need photos.
-
Nice cat pics!
-
It has been a lovely day here weather wise.....low 70's.....the air did not come on ONCE....and it is comfortable with the windows and screen doors open....
Birdy Barnum is singing and enjoying watching the outside world go by.
-
Keith & I both, FINALLY, slept last night & feel better. It felt good this morning not to wake up nauseated.
-
Laundry is done for the day. I'm sure you're all just thrilled. But we need more posts.
Oh, that reminds me that I need to do laundry...which I've needed to do for quite a while. ::)
;)

So cute!! As are the others! ;D

4our!!!!

That one is my favorite.
-
Oh, I didn't think about the need for a large audience with this.
Large crowd vibes!
Well, the larger the crowds, the longer everything will take because each scene will only have so many people.
-

I'm sure that there will be pictures!

Good afternoon.

That grandkid is just so darn cute!
-
He's adorable!
-
Good news DR JANE.
It is as if Stella is thinking - these books would look better ON THE FLOOR!
-
LOL.
-
Gratuitous post No. 103!
-
Fun night of dancing. It went by quickly.
-
The cat photos were wonderful. Thank you, ChasSmith.
-
The memorial service today was quite wonderful musically. About 800 people showed up and herding them into a general admission seating was odd, to say the least. There were fewer musicians with instruments than was thought, and so the line for the general public kept moving ever closer to the stage. That bothered some who showed up early and were told they had to sit in the back. But as soon as the music started and the stories came forth, all was well.
-
I think my favorite piece was a dreamy version of I Remember You. There was also a cornet solo that was written especially for the memorial that was really nice.
-
BK, the musical sounds like a test of one's patience.
-
JohnG, it has been so - but at least now we'll get it finished and see what we have.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Oh, I picked up a package, the important envelope, had a roast beef sandwich for the meal o' the day - no fries or onion rings - just the damn sandwich, and came home. I tried watching one of the new Twilight Time releases, Wild in the Country, but it's a slog and I'll finish it some other time. I checked out the other Bardot films but they're pretty bad. I didn't really nod off tonight.
-
My tummy is a tiny bit upset - hopefully that will go away soon. We had two contributions but it didn't cause our percentage to go up - I'm guessing whatever the next one is will.
-
I've been a good boy today about resting the voice box.
-

Yes, thank you very much.

I've watched two episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and I'm on my second episode of Grey's Anatomy.

Good evening.
-
Still spending most of my time in bed.
-
No, not bragging, complaining.
-
Every time I cough or sneeze I am afraid things are going to get worse.
-
I was feeling better this morning, but while I was taking a shower, I dropped the soap and reached down too quickly and I was back to square one.
-
Great photos, Chas.
-
Tonight, in honor of the 22nd anniversary, I watched the documentary on Nerflix called DIANA: 7 DAYS THAT SHOCKED THE WORLD.
-
I had seen it before, but I really enjoyed it.
-
22 years? Hard to believe.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
22 years? Hard to believe.
I know. I saw a headline for an article that mentioned that this weekend was the anniversary of her death. :-\
-
Then I decided that I wanted to see THE DA VINCI CODE (I had previously read the book), but I couldn’t find it on Netflix or Prime. So, I decided to watch ANGELS AND DEMONS instead.
-
It was a pretty good flick, if you suspend belief while watching it.
-
Hi, George.
-
Currently, I am listening to the OBC of RAGTIME.
-
I am going to try and work on my friend Tracy and convince her to audition for Mother.

I am going to try and work on my friend Tracy and convince her to audition for Mother.
Cool! Who's doing it, and when?
-
I suppose I could audition for the role of Grandfather. I can’t think of any reason he couldn’t be in a wheelchair.

That would be cool, too!
