Well, you've read the notes, the notes were colorful, and now it is time for you to post until the colorful cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FASTIDIOUS!
-
First post after BK.
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR Laura!! :D
-
Topic of the Day (in chronological order):
Citizen Kane (1941)
Casino Royale (1967)
The Muppet Movie (1979)
-
I've been hearing an alarm that's been ringing for at least 10 minutes. :o
-
It's not a car alarm. It's an actual bell like a school bell that just isn't stopping.
-
I have no idea where it's coming from. There are several businesses around here (including some state offices), so it could be coming from any one of those.
-
Hopefully, it doesn't ring all night! That would be most inconsiderate! :P
-
Today, I'm going to my sister's house to put up more plastic siding on her daughter's chicken coop. It's not difficult, just kind of awkward and cumbersome.
-
Hopefully, it doesn't ring all night! That would be most inconsiderate! :P
It's still ringing!
-
Well, I think I'm going shut my windows and try to get some sleep.
Have a good day, all!
-
VIBES FOR DC NICKY!
-
TCB no need to apologize. It was funny.
-
George I hope you slept through the ringing.
-
Finding a new Banjo vibes for Bruce.
-
More vibes for Nicky!
-
Happy birthday wishes to Laura! Hope it's a celebratory weekend.
-
BK, how long is the run of your show? Is it worth opening and getting the show's buzz (and reviews) with Barry Pearl as Banjo, and someone be on deck for the last two weeks?
-
[maybe even the director]
-
I recall a full off-Broadway production )a transfer form a non-profit) at the Variety Arts Theater of "June Moon" where the leading actor got a gig he couldn't afford to turn down (and his contract or understanding must gave been that a better-paying job would allow him to leave). So he did the previews, opened the show, but after opening weekend, Justin Kirk took over the role.
-
I believe (for sake of goodwill, I'm sure not legally required) they allowed refunds to anyone who specifically had bought their seats to see the actor who opened the show, and bought before the cast change was known.
-
And it ended up being an opportunity to get an extra round of publicity articles.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Dead tired from way too little sleep. I must really try to get a nap going at some point.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Opening went very well. More importantly, the hors d’oeuvres at the opening night partay were excellent.
-
Happy Birthday, Laura!
-
Last night I took a Tizanidine, Tylenol with codeine, and one Tylenol PM before bed. I slept well until 12:30 (about 3.5 hrs) before the pains returned and the remainder of the night was the usual mess. Stella checked in on me several times and Thatch stasyed with me all night. After I fed the cays, I took another Tizanidine and Tylenol w/c and slept until 9:00. Annabelle snuggled in with me and we were quite comfy.
-
A very Happy Birthday to DR Laura!

DR ChasSmith, how did your show go?
-
T.O.D.
Orson Welles!
I did my college term paper on Orson Welles.
His work has always fascinated me.
I never met him, which is probably a good thing, but Dan O'Herlihy (MACBETH) was a publicity client and good friend, and he introduced me to John Houseman.
And, of course, one of my one-person plays in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection is ORSON WELLES. It's available in both paperback and Kindle editions, as well as an audio performance, brilliantly performed by Ed French.
https://www.amazon.com/Orson-Welles-One-Person-Play-Acts/dp/B009PIQPN4/ref=tmm_aud_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
There have also been productions in theaters around the country since I wrote it in 1986.
Thank yoou, Bruce, for the opportunity to plug my play. :D

Happy Birthday to DR LAURA!

Vibes for Nicky!
-
Glad to hear that DR CHAS SMITH's opening and horse dervies were excellent....and I'm sure the orgestra vas beauty-ful.
-
Getting the right job vibes for DR JOHN G.
-
Thanks DR JANE - I'm glad I dodged it, too.
-
MR BK lost his Banjo but found Jesus.....so it's not all bad.
Of course, were I in California, I could reprise my award-winning role.

Good morning!
-
Happy Birthday, DR Laura!

Vibes for Nicky!
-
Some days cleaning the litter gets completely out of control. You'd think after two years I'd have it down to a smooth accomplishment, but no . . .
-
I have a Mack & Mabel chart to edit today, but I think I might purchase a ticket for Downton Abbey tomorrow afternoon.

DR ChasSmith, how did your show go?
Very well. It’s the 1998 version which I know you don’t prefer, and this production doesn’t hold back on the darkness. It’s being very well received thus far. Of course it’s opening weekend, but this neck of the woods does take its theatrical material strong.

I was in the man’s presence once, and I’m grateful for the moment. It was when he attended a retrospective of his films at USC. I forget which movie it was that evening, but I have the notes somewhere. I stayed around till he and his people were ready to leave, and walked up the aisle of the Norris Cinema with them, right next to his own self. I’m just as glad I didn’t say anything because I can’t imagine it would have been of interest to him. This was in the early 1980s.
-
And no, I don’t recall him signing anything for anyone. But he was in a fine mood and fine form during the Q&A and all, and very receptive and engaging.
-
Good morning.
-
Thank you for the birthday wishes.
-
Today I am at the church hosting an event. I got here at 7 am.
-
I have an apple cake in the oven.
-
I am waiting for the mushroom guy to come. Don't ask.
-
Cake is out of the oven and glazed.
-
Later today: lunch for 15 -- with all kinds of food restrictions. Such fun!
-
BK, check your messages.
-
The Mushroom Guy - I think that's Japanese sci fi movie.
-
TOD:
Citizen Kane
The V.I.P.S.
-
He was always amusing as a guest on The Merv Griffin Show...not so much on Dick Cavett when they were both competing to be the most amusing and cloying.....
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy birthday, Laura! The cake sounds delicious.
-
Vibes for Nicky.
-
Banjo vibes for BK.

I slept for 10 hours. Nice.

Mushrooms are here.

I had planned to stay in all day but my glasses just broke and I must take them down to the vendor and have them repaired. Damn!
-
Damn.
-
Glasses repaired, I must work on Mack & Mabel for a bit.
-
George I hope you slept through the ringing.
Fortunately, I did. Closing my skylight really helped muffle the sound. I don't know when it stopped, but it did. Whew!
-
Tonight is the closing night of PICNIC....
-
I have a Mack & Mabel chart to edit today, but I think I might purchase a ticket for Downton Abbey tomorrow afternoon.
I love that score! I saw a local college production quite a few years ago. Sadly, it wasn't a great production. ::)

Have a great evening.

Thanks DR JANE.

Nice photo & I am glad you have enjoyed working with them.

Great picture, Jrand!
-
Well, I must be off. My niece "needs" me to put up some more plastic siding on her chicken coop. ::) It shouldn't take too long, then I should be free until tomorrow night when I work concessions at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.
-
Tommy Orange, the author of There There (https://www.amazon.com/dp/0525520376/) will be here in Olympia to read from and discuss his book. It's this year's Timberland Reads Together (https://www.trl.org/trt) title. I'm reading it right now. I'm about halfway through, but I don't think I'll be able to finish by tomorrow, but we'll see.
-
4our!!!!
-
And now I'm off.
Be back later.
-
...and DR GEORGE.
Travel vibes for DR JANE & Keith.
Thank you.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine and a half hours of very needed sleep - probably could have even slept another hour or two.
-
Great cast photo , JRand. Too bad your audiences haven’t been as nice.
-
George, I hope you finish the book. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t think it was as great as the critics.

I probably missed something.

Nice photo! Have a great closing performance.
-
I've finished my Mack & Mabel work, and I have purchased a ticket for tomorrow's 11:30am showing of Downton Abbey.
-
The kitties are fed, so now I've got to think about dinner for myself.
-
Jrand - Great PICNIC photo! Wishing you all a terrific closing performance.
-
I want a full report on Downton, Elmore. I hope it's a blast.
-
The good news on Downton is that it appears to be doing well at the box office. There is apparently a market for movies about people after all.
-
Saturday evening greetings! We watched Michigan lose at Wisconsin and watched the first half of
David v. Goliath Miami v. Ohio State. Miami held their own in the first quarter, but it was clear by halftime that it wasn’t going to last. We went to the grocery and got home at the end of the third quarter. It’s now 76-5 and there’s still 3 minutes left.
-
Happiest of birthdays to DR Laura.
-
I've finished my Mack & Mabel work, and I have purchased a ticket for tomorrow's 11:30am showing of Downton Abbey.
Wish I were there to go with you!
-
Best closing night wishes to DR JRand and the PICNIC company!
-
The good news on Downton is that it appears to be doing well at the box office. There is apparently a market for movies about people after all.
The first two showings tomorrow are nearly sold out.
-
I'm seeing it at a theatre a block from my apartment, so it's an easy walk.
-
Continued break-a-leg vibes to DR ChasSmith and the CABARET company!
-
Ginny, my sympathies on the Michigan game, but congratulations on Michigan State!

Well, I wish you were, too, and you've got until 11:00 tomorrow morning to get here!

Enjoy the movie.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Travel vibes to Jane and Keith.
Have a lovely trip.
-
Happy Birthday to DR Laura!
Enjoy your cake!
-
Thank you Jeanne.
-
Jane, I ordered the Women's Tear Stimulation pellets from Natural Ophthalmics today. I woke up during the night with very dry eyes. It's not the first time I've had to use eye drops in the middle of the night. Sigh. Some people say that artificial tears, which I use many times throughout the day, actually dry your eyes out. Since the Women's Tear Stimulation eye drops aren't available, I decided to try the pellets.
Are your eyes dry, too, or just red?
-
Yes, DR Elmore, we want a movie report.
-
Vibes to Chas, who must be exhauted from his busy musical schedule.
-
In fact, vibes to all.
-
And that includes DK Nicky.
-
I have no news.
TTFN.
-
Back from all sorts of doing not much. I did pick up some packages (Sambucol and a few other necessaries), and I did go to Jerry's Deli and got some roast beef and turkey to go, along with four pieces of rye bread, came home, made two sandwiches and ate them and am now quite full, but both sandwiches were calorie-friendly, so that's good.
-
Jeanne I have suffered from dry eyes for years. Yes, they often wake me up. I am finding the Similasan complete eye relief helpful. I have learned to only put in one drop at a time even though it says up to 3 drops. More drops are counter productive.
I hope the new drops help you.
DR elmore thank you for the suggestion to use the Similasan drops. Tomorrow, before we leave, tThey will be added to the collection of eye drops already in my purse.
-
Happy Birthday to DR Laura!
-
Happy belated birthday to DR Elmore!
-
Happy Birthday to dear Laura
-
George I have beenthinking about you and hoping your appeal went well
-
TCB I am sorry to hear about Nicky, vibes he is well soon

Banjo finding vibes for BK
-
Today was a soup kitchen day
-
The other woman who has shouldered a great deal of the responsibilities since Sara left for Pennsylvania last October is away this week so I was in charge of buying the supplies (which I did last night) and then packing up and transporting everything to the church for storage (no room in my little fridge) and then this morning collecting it all and transporting everything to the church where the soup kitchen is held
-
This week I was the onlyone from my church in attendance, but we always supply the food when it’s our turn
-
A number of people handed me money last Sunday to buy supplies
-
Fortunately there are no lack of volunteers as a AA group from another church always volunteer their services this week so we had plenty of manpower
-
After every thing has been set up but before the doors open they hold a mini meeting, and they kindly invite all present to join them whether they are friends if Bill or not
-
I find I very much look forward to that time of sharing and connection.
-
We saw an interesting sight on our walk today. A small boat stranded, tilted, and deserted on a little sandbar.
-
We had a steady stream of people, usually we serve about 70 or so and are able to provide seconds and takeaway but this time we had over 100 including about 20 children , we actually used up every scrap of our food about 10 minutes before we usually shut the doors
-
I guess we will need to bring more food next time
-
After we close the doors and cleaned up I had to bring the left over paper goods and carrier bags back to the church and set up the sanctuary for tomorrow’s early service at which I will be serving as assisting minister
-
I got back home a little after 2 after leaving around 8:30
-
I still hadn’t eaten so Vixdad kindly took me to IHOP
-
I ordered the turkey bacon avocado wrap
-
It’s very good but I could only manage 1/2 so I brought the 2nd half home
-
It was nearly 5 by time got back home ( we lingeredover our meals and chatted with the staff)
-
Isatdown to let my meal digest and was overcome by slumber
-
So that pretty much killed the rest of the day
-
We decided we were getting hungry again about an hour ago so we sent out for Chinese
-
Vixdad is now enjoying his favorite General Tso’s chicken while I am enjoying roast pork chow fun which I never had before, but the online description sounded interesting
-
Travel vibes for Jane and Keith
-
I wish I could come see your Cabaret, Chas but I don’t think I will be able to manage the trip , break a leg vibes for The whole company , but especially you
-
Enjoy your movie tomorrow Elmore
-
Pain free sleeping vibes for Elmore
-
I am glad you had such a nice birthday celebration
-
Home from a night of dancing. Smaller crowd than usual, and men were in short supply. My dogs am tired.
-
Now watching Carousel, which I have never watched all the way through before. It's OK.
-
Good night, all.
-
George, I hope you finish the book. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t think it was as great as the critics.
I'll definitely finish it, just not by tomorrow. I'm sure I'll get it done by this week.
-
My sister and I bough the plastic siding for the chicken coop, and then I put it up. It was pretty easy to do.
-
After that, I went to Panda Express for dinner. I got my usual Kung Pao Chicken, Black Pepper Chicken and Chow Mein.
-
George I have beenthinking about you and hoping your appeal went well
Thanks, Vixmom. I just turned it in. I don't know how long it'll be before I find out the decision.
-
If they don't approve the appeal, my salary won't go down.
-
My current salary will just stay where it is until any C.O.L.A.s raise the top of the new salary range so that it matches up to where I am now.
-
I wouldn't be getting any C.O.L.A.s for several years.
-
That's where I would lose money. :P
-
We saw an interesting sight on our walk today. A small boat stranded, tilted, and deserted on a little sandbar.
:o Hopefully, the boat will be okay.
-
Vixdad is now enjoying his favorite General Tso’s chicken while I am enjoying roast pork chow fun which I never had before, but the online description sounded interesting
That reminds me that not too long ago, I bought some frozen General Tso's Chicken from Schwan's (https://www.schwans.com/products/product?id=56192). I haven't had it yet, and I've never actually had General Tso's Chicken before, at all. I hope I like it.
-
Does anyone know if it's anything like anything that Panda Express has?
-
Travel vibes for Jane and Keith
Thank you.
-
Now watching Carousel, which I have never watched all the way through before. It's OK.
I remember seeing with my sister and she loved it. I thought it was just ok. When I saw it as an adult I felt the same about it.
-
That's where I would lose money. :P
Vibes that doesn't happen.
-
We saw an interesting sight on our walk today. A small boat stranded, tilted, and deserted on a little sandbar.
:o Hopefully, the boat will be okay.
We talked to some people we regularly see on ours. Then went down to the beach for a better look at it. They think the boat was completely abandoned and no one cares about it. I expect the river police will take care of it, or the rising tide already did.
-
That's where I would lose money. :P
Vibes that doesn't happen.
Thanks, Jane.

😊
-
Finished with my viewing. Also, because she of the Evil Eye is out of town (today was her day), I did all the laundry, so everything is fresh as a daisy, laundry-wise. It was VERY hot today. Really ready for some cooler weather.
-
I have a load of laundry in my dryer right now.
-
Just had to share. :)
-
Good evening.
-
Jrand, what happened to the shirtless photo of Hal??
-
Safe travel vibes to Jane and Keith!

Damn! No Stephen Colbert tonight.

I should have recorded last night’s anniversary show. It was hysterical.
-
I started to watch the CAROUSEL production with Kelli O’Hara and Nathan Gunn. I got thru the “Carousel Waltz” and then stopped to watch the news. I forgot to go back and watch it.
-
I should have recorded last night’s anniversary show. It was hysterical.
I totally missed that! I just checked and it's available on On Demand. Want a DVD? I can record it from On Demand.

I'm watching the episode from Tuesday when Stephen had all the kids (all grown up, of course) from The Brady Bunch.
