Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of mommykins and daddkins, Wagner-wise, and now it is time for you to post until the mommy and daddkins cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: OUTRE!
-
First post after BK.

I had been looking forward to the season premiere of 911, because the previews showed a tsunami hitting the pier. So last night, just as it started, I said to myself, “Self, they are going to save the tsunami for the very end of the show.”
And they did!

It's called "delayed gratification." ::)

Ha! They are just assuming that I am going to live until next week’s broadcast.

Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Time for me to go to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept better last night than on previous nights. I had meant to sleep in this morning, but I have this frenetic cat named Stella preventing it. Before she eats, she's hyper trying to get me to feed her and after she eats, she's off the wall.
-
Annabelle's fighting a cold. I think this drop in temperature is getting to her.
-
I have physical therapy this morning, so I've got things to do before I leave.
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD 1:
I have kosher vegan bacon salt. Ridiculous.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Dead to the world, I am.
I’d so love to get another hour of sleep. I’m going to give it a try.
-
Good morning.

For the litmus paper in the notes:
I think this link will work, from the satiric Tea party songbook from ten years ago, they had one called "We Need a Little Litmus."
https://books.google.com/books?id=c_t0q1xFTPYC&pg=PA291&lpg=PA291&dq=%22need+a+little+litmus%22&source=bl&ots=3j_OWaacjA&sig=ACfU3U0glDOF8lurCFVolpr3h_AXxBvCzA&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj64rzXuOnkAhUtT98KHUJLDy0Q6AEwAHoECAYQAQ#v=onepage&q=%22need%20a%20little%20litmus%22&f=false

I never knew my gradmother who died when my mother was 18. Today we visited her grave.
-
TCB, about last night's questions:
1. Yes
2. Phoenix is huge and rain amounts can vary. Smaller storms often miss us. The rain came in waves yesterday. As of yesterday afternoon, we had one big rain that lasted about 20 minutes and some sprinkles throughout the day. We had a couple big waves hit last night. As far as the flooding, there are many unbridged roads that you are supposed to avoid. Or else water was draining through a wash.
-
Probably.
-
I don't have much charge left on my phone and this site is working slowly for me.

I like 9-1-1, too DR TCB. I am very disappointed that they moved The Resident to Tuesday nights.....I liked to watch 9-1-1 then The Resident then switch to The Good Doctor....
Not at all interested in The Prodigal Son.
-
I have never tried any of the fake meat so I shan't comment on them.....

We liked the pairing of 9-1-1 and The Resident, too.
So are they both back on this week?

Tuesday morning greetings! Several members of AAUW Middletown went to Oxford last night to eat pizza with members of Miami University's student AAUW members and then attend a book talk with them. It was fun to be with those young women and to hear about their current college experiences.

DR Jane, I love this photo! I also have a grandmother who died before my parents were married. She was my Dad's mother and he never talked much about her. My sister and I visited her gravesite together for the first time just a few years ago and it was very emotional.

Physical therapy went well, and I left there at 12:30, thinking I'd be home by 1:00 if the buses ran smoothly. I got the 96th crosstown bus easily, then waited at Broadway and 96 for nearly an hour for a downtown 104 bus. Then, two buses showed up. The drivewr told me the schedule's screwed up, thganks to the UN being in session. It tool me nearly 90 minutes to get home from therapy.
Color me really, really pissed.

Page 2 Dance!
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.
-
Good afternoon!
-
I saw Downton Abbey again. I really love it.
-
DR JRand69, how did you like Downton Abbey?

Yes DR CHAS SMITH - The Resident returns at 8 p.m. our time on FOX.
-
DR ELMORE I enjoyed DOWNTON ABBEY very much.....it looked a bit dark on our screen, but it was fun to see everyone....and there seemed to be some future stories to build on if it ever returns to TV or has a movie sequel.
-
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
It seemed to me though that the series started with a brouhaha that an estate could not be left to a daughter or some such....and here we had the irritating eye-popping and denture-clacking Imelda Staunton leaving her estate to her maid/companion/daughter.....

The situation with Downton was the same with the Bennetts in Pride and Prejudice: the property was entailed to the male heirs. In the Bennetts' case, the heir was the odious Mr Collins; in the Downton case, the original heir drowned on the Titanic.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Good to hear the glowing reports on DOWNTON ABBEY. Not that I'm surprised, exactly, but nothing's guaranteed.
-
Jane, I'm glad that you and Keith are able to make this trip. It obviously means a lot to you.
-
TOD:
I haven't tried the Impossible Burger as I have absolutely no appetite for meat. I have been, nevertheless, interested in how others like it and whether it becomes a restaurant staple. The burger place that I frequent, The Counter, serves them. When I asked the manager how people liked them, she said many people do like them, but was surprised that I asked, as she knows I always order a veggie burger (which DOESN'T taste like meat).
-
I'm glad to see this. I know many people who feel that they should eat less meat, but just don't get excited about veggies. This is a great alternative for them.
-
DR Jrand thank you for posting the photo.
-
Many years ago there was a great restaurant in West Hollywood--on Sweetzer just north of Santa Monica Blvd--run by a British couple. Half the menu was meat, the other half vegetarian. Such tasty food! They had a vegetarian loaf that I loved called Bubble 'n' Squeak. There's a British dish by that name that I've never tried, but I suspect the resemblance ends there. I tried several times to recreate it at home, but never quite got it right.
-
Ginny I too found it very emotional. Apparently emotional doesnt look good in photo because Keithtold be to change my expression ;D
-
I hadn't been to the restaurant, called Taming of the Stew, in a few years, but raved about it to a new boyfriend. We went there one evening. We were well inside before we realized that I was the only female present. Oops. It was now a gay bar. A very nice gay bar, but not the restaurant I'd raved about. So much for being up on good places to eat.
-
DR elmore I am glad PT went well, sorry about your ordeal getting home.
I thought about you today when a nice young man stood up on the undergroud & offered the woman I was with his seat. She looks fine but had double hip replacements and he overheard me ask if she needed a seat.
-
Thank you George.
-
I've been watching THE GOOD FIGHT season 2, in preparation for season 3, which just released. I love this show. Such good writing! The whole cast is really solid, too. I liked its predecessor, THE GOOD WIFE, but I like this one more.
-
Thanks Jeanne. It does mean a lotto me, and to Keith since he has done thhe research. I am hoping for a lead to where my great grandparents are buried. So far we haven't found them. I am disappointed we will be able to go to the poper grave where my grandfater is. At least he was found.
Aside from those there are many places I am excited about.

I find it interesting you like it more. Maybe one of these days we will give it a try.
-
We met 3 friends at the oldest wine and cheese bar in London. The first room we sat in is a bit cave like and claustrophobic so we moved our seats. The cave like room was a designated bomb shelter during the war.
-
If the original Hard Rock Cafe had an Awesome Burger instead of Beyond I might have tried it. We can only trust the waiter what it was as it had a different name on the menu.
-
Jane, there were a couple characters in THE GOOD WIFE that I didn't like. They weren't intended to be sympathetic, but they were so UNsympathetic to me that it detracted. Plus, how long can you go on with a husband-as-philanderer theme? It was much better than I originally expected, but THE GOOD FIGHT doesn't have those issues. Its scope is broader and even the villains are fun to watch.
-
Larry, many of the Medicare Advantage plans now offer free transportation (cab/Uber/Lyft) to certain doctor appointments. I find it a great help. Have you looked into any of these plans? The ones I'm familiar with have no monthly premium and no copay for your PCP or specialist. I've never liked insurance companies, but I have to say that I'm quite happy with my insurance plan.

TTFN.

PAGE THREE DANCE!!
-
I just got a text from Tom, asking if I could post a picture of his new area run. Of course, I can! Here it is! :D
-
It's occurring to me seeing the graves that with the way my brother and sister-in-law have been so destructive the past years (over an amount of money that seems like it shouldn't mean THAT much to them), it would probably be silly to ever visit their graves except to hopefully tap dance on their graves, I should live so long and still be able to fake a tap dance.
-
My only thought is, you've been counting our parents' money for over 6 years now - they were very much alive 6 years ago, and they're still very much alive now.
-
Well, I'm off. My friend Margo and I are going to see Ad Astra. I haven't heard anything about whether it's good or not, but I'm looking forward to it. I'll have a report when I get back.
Until later.
-
It has been a day.
-
I received word early this morning that Dad was sick and that Mom didn't know if he had had a stroke or were dehydrated.
-
She did not bother to call an ambulance. She simply tried to get him an appointment to see his doctor.
-
She finally got him somehow to an ER, but they didn't admit him to a room for another eight or so hours.
-
My sister finally arrived from Lexington, about 80 minutes away, just as he had fallen asleep.
-
As Mom was a wreck, Annaliese just took her home.
-
She then went home herself because she has to teach at 8:30 in the morning.
-
She will turn around and go back to Louisville after her class.
-
Still no answers on what's wrong with Dad. But he had bad diarrhea and was vomiting, both of which he stopped by the time he got to the hospital. It may have been food poisoning for all we know.
-
Tonight was the last of Joy's dance classes for the school district for the month. The folks in this class were all over the place in terms of what they could do, with the women far, far better than the men. But tonight, one man really got the new dance, the shuffle, which was a thrill for his wife. They were able to dance around and around the room, enough that they feel they can go out in public. And that's what we want them to feel.
Turns out the man, Jerry, has the same birthday as me, and his wife's is just a few days later.
-
Right now, I'm at home relaxing to more of this wonderful blues/guitar music from Clapton's Crossroads. Right now, the great Buddy Guy is killing it with Damn Right I've Got the Blues. Wonderful stuff. I could have used this for the West Coast swing part of the class tonight.
-
TOD 2: I don't understand why vegetarians don't like vegetables enough to eat them. One of the vegetarian restaurants in town has stuff like chicken-fried wheat meat on the menu and no actual vegetable dishes, except a salad. What is wrong with vegetables?
-
When I was growing up we always had meat on the plate and we had three or four vegetables, most from the garden. I always liked a nice a combination, especially if the colors are bright and inviting, say raw or cooked red cabbage alongside carrots and peas (separately) or a baked tomato with some Parmesan or bread crumbs on top.
-
Made it to disc 2 of Clapton. This one is actually longer than the first, clocking in at 2:36.
-
Sorry to hear about your dad, John. I hope he is feeling better and home soon.
-
The baby started walking yesterday.
Also, today is Wae-Ling's birthday; she is 16.
-

Thank you. I hope so, too.
-
The baby started walking yesterday.

Wow. Time is flying.
-
Good night, all.
-
Um, page three? REALLY?
-
Dozed off for a while, now listening to music. I decided on two new CDs in our classical line, although one is, for me, more musical theatre than classical.
-
JohnG, much strength to your family and health vibes for your dad.
-
Laura, any pictures of the baby's walking?
-
And birthday wishes for Wae-Ling!
-
We really MUST get off this page.
-
It's looking more and more likely that Barry Pearl will be Banjo for the first month of the run, and I'll do the final two weeks unless I can find someone else, which I'd prefer. But I'm prepared to learn the damn lines.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Post #92!!
-
Where the Hell is everyone?
-
It used to be that weekends were slow, but week nights were much better.
-
Now, everything is reversed.
-
11:30 and I am all alone!
-
There is no way I can get us to a civilized total.
-
Jane is in England and she is still managing to post.
-
The photo George posted for me was to show off my new area rug, not my area run
-
#100
-
I am not making much progress.
-
Greetings 0 Guests!
-
No hope of anyone saving me.
-
I am sorry that photo is not able to show off the rug better.
-
I really need to be able to stand up to make a better photo.
-
I’ll ask the next visitor I have to take one for me.
-
UNDERPANTS!!
-
It was a beautiful day here today.
-
Blue skies and around 70 degrees.
-
Tomorrow is supposed to be the same weather.
-
But tomorrow night the rain shall return.
-
Possibly through the weekend.
-
And cold nights starting Friday.
-
It will give me a preview of what cold nights mean in the “outlying areas.”
-
We are not talking freezing temps, but probably in the high thirties.
-
Cold enough for September.
-
Old actors lunch is tomorrow. I guess I will go.
-
Eye-talian food.
-
One more post.
-
Page five
-
Whew! Sorry, but I think I am done.
-
Good night.
-
Well, I'm off. My friend Margo and I are going to see Ad Astra. I haven't heard anything about whether it's good or not, but I'm looking forward to it. I'll have a report when I get back.
Until later.
I'm back. Well, Ad Astra got an 83% from reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ad_astra)...but only 43% from the audience. :o
-
Margo and I don't disagree with the audience rating. ::)
;)
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Good night.
Good night, Tom.
-
It was kind of weird.
-
It wasn't bad per se, but didn't make much sense.
-
There didn't seem to be much of a point. :-\
-
Oh, well. It was cheap night, tonight.
-
Still no answers on what's wrong with Dad. But he had bad diarrhea and was vomiting, both of which he stopped by the time he got to the hospital. It may have been food poisoning for all we know.
Oh, no!
~~~Vibes of All Kinds for John's Father!!~~~
-
The baby started walking yesterday.
Also, today is Wae-Ling's birthday; she is 16.
Congrats to the baby and Happy Birthday to Wae-Ling!
-
Dozed off for a while, now listening to music. I decided on two new CDs in our classical line, although one is, for me, more musical theatre than classical.
That sounds intriguing.
-
Don't you hate it when that happens??
;)
-
Where the Hell is everyone?
I went to the movies. I don't know about anyone else, but that's where the hell I was! ;)
-
The photo George posted for me was to show off my new area rug, not my area run
AARRGGHH!! :o
-
It was a beautiful day here today.
Yes, it was quite nice!
-
Tomorrow is supposed to be the same weather.
Good!
-
But tomorrow night the rain shall return.
:(
-
Actually, I like the rain. :)
-
Old actors lunch is tomorrow. I guess I will go.
Hope you enjoy it, Tom.
That's because critics are morons and this film was pure critic-bait.
Hang tight whilst I change the topic.
