DRJOSE - I think you will be happier and safer at the Residence Inn.
DRGinny, I think Sarah could never get through the score to FUNNY GIRL; I worked on her Boston Pops broadcast, and she's lovely, but no great singer.
We have had the Gap commercial with Sarah Jessica Parker in Japan, too, since last year. She in person is in fashion.
Her husband is a Tony Award winner?
And the word of the day is: AGGRANDIZE!This word has always bothered me. It sounds like it is trying to be both singular and plural at the same time. Shouldn't it either be AGGRANDI or TUGRANDIZE? :-\
Lovely pictures of Coco and Cici, DR SWW. :DThe most we've had in the house is eight, our current pack.

'Lord of the Rings' coming to the stage
By Press-Telegram wire services
Tuesday, March 15, 2005 - A much-anticipated musical based on "The Lord of the Rings' will have its world premiere in Toronto next year, the show's producers announced Tuesday.
The $22 million show will open in March 2006 at the Princess of Wales Theatre with a largely Canadian cast, producer Kevin Wallace said.
Wallace had hoped to open the show in London in the fall, but no theater large enough to accommodate the technically complex production was available. The musical is now slated to open in London in autumn 2006.
Published 50 years ago, J.R.R. Tolkien's mystical adventure trilogy has been discovered by a new generation through Peter Jackson's Academy Award-winning trio of films, which have grossed more than $3 billion around the world.
The three-hour stage adaptation will feature book and lyrics by Shaun McKenna ("Lautrec," "Maddie') and Matthew Warchus (Tony nominated director of "Art' and "True West'), and music by A.R. Rahman ("Bombay Dreams') and Finnish group Varttina with Christopher Nightingale.
Warchus said the show, which has a cast of 50, would combine words, music, physical theater and spectacle to create a production in which the audience is "actually plunged into the events as they happen."
"We have not attempted to pull the novel towards the standard conventions of musical theater, but rather to expand those conventions so that they will accommodate Tolkien's material," he said.
I am SO looking forwaard to receiving my box.
Looks like folks out there do have some taste. Kirstie Alley's new improv-sitcom FAT ACTRESS on Showtime scored almost 800,000 viewers in its first episode. (That doesn't sound like many viewers, but it's big for a Showtime audience.)
Those numbers fell over 70% with this week's episode to something around 250,000 viewers.
Yes, Matthew Broderick has won two Tony Awards: as featured actor in BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS and as Best Musical Actor for the revival of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING.
"You'll know the worst about every women, when you see REFORM SCHOOL GIRL!"
Just shocking!
...but many is the time I regretted NOT picking it up when I saw it.
My question for ASK BK day. What are some of the BEST motion picture coming attractions you have ever seen (even if the actual picture didn't turn out to be so hot)?
Boy, you're right about the unappetizing transfeer of BELLS ARE RINGING on laserdisc. It and THE OPPOSITE SEX are so pale as to be almost unwatchable. I am SO looking forwaard to receiving my box.
Have to disagree with the slight negative about the SINGIN' IN THE RAIN DVD. I find it glorious, the best of the Ultra-Resolution restorations to my eyes, and that includes the new GONE WITH THE WIND and THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD.
DRMATTH the Wild Wild West has been released on CBS Video in Stereo! So I would imagine if a DVD release was forthcoming - that's where it would come from. It might get complicated though. CBS/FOX Video released the I Love Lucy Tapes (as did Columbia House) - but Paramount Viacom have released the I Love Lucy Box Sets.
Esteemed BK: I have a question for your dear friend (and sponsor of this site) Guy Haines, which I would like you to pass on to him.
Dear Guy: you are known for your collection of hats, particularly baseball caps. Are these all hats you have collected, or have your friends donated hats and caps to your cause?
Mr. Haines replies:
- I have purchased all my hats with my hard-earned money..
My jaded memories are filled with regrets for not picking up desireable things.

. Bobby Sherman does a nice version of that song, "Jennifer", referenced earlier. He sang it to his kid sister on the short-lived musical show "Getting Together".

Congratulations to DR Ben's DP Anthony!!!
Can we come and see the showcase?
Of course! Anyone in New York interested in seeing it can attend. I'll post more information as I find out. Rehearsals for the show begin at the end of the month and the performances begin in May. We can talk on Saturday.
As a kid, I loved all movie trailers, and very few of the actual movies ever lived up to them.
Vixmom-If you guys like Stitch of Lilo & Stitch fame, it would go along way towards making you best pals with the Gal.
The Bobby Sherman LPs are, while cheesily arranged, generally very entertaining albums.
On the "Getting Together" LP, Bobby sings a song to his sister called "Where Did That Little Girl Go?" which later was approptiated for the SNOOPY musical as "Where Did that Little Dog Go?"
Jennifer, I did watch TAR last night! Thought it was pretty good...still adore Meredith and Gretchen...she cracked me up several times, such a nice couple.
Awaiting my hate mail,

Many of the issues you talk about DR derBrucer have NOT been legislated, they have been adjudicated - and the MAJORITY view has not been counted by vote.
. It was three hundred bucks, which I didn't think was outrageous, and it fit, so I took it. The salesperson rang it up and to both his and my surprise it was on sale for eighty bucks. Hoo and ray, was all I could say. Even if I don't end up using it a lot, for eighty bucks it's a helluva coat.
There are some cases so henious where I think the death penalty should be applied swiftly and in kind.... I, for one who be right there to see Susan Smith tied to a chair and the room slowly flooded so she could experience some of the terror she put her poor little boys through, heck, I'd flood the room myself...
Can you believe that there is not one single video rental store in all of Salem, Oregon, USA, that has a copy of QUEEN BEE on DVD or VHS!
As BK would say, SKAMMEN!!
I am now going to shell out 20 dollars to get a copy off of Amazon.com.
My problem with the right side of the political spectrum (prepare for super generalities now) is that they allow business to pollute the air, the water, cut down trees and otherwise destroy the environment, remove as many of the safeguards for the common man as possible, talk about smaller government,(meaning hands off big business) and yet want to legislate what goes on in my bedroom and my doctor's office
Hey, you confessed to generalities and didn't confuse "right side" with all of a particular party. On the issues you address I suspect we would generally agree, and so would the politicans whose campaigns I have supported. (My candidates are pro-choice, have Sierra Club endorsements, support gay rights and reasonable gun control, and urge removing federal barriers to embryonic stem cell research.)
Remember, the (fantasy) world I live in has a Republican party that supports limited government, social responsiblity for the care of the less fortunate (including animals and the planet), and indivdual responsibily to address personal, private conduct and ones' realtionship, or not, with the Divine.

It's quite beautiful here in the City of Studio.
... carrying a new Tumi bag, and a new Tumi wallet in your pocket - AND with your new highlights!
The airport baggage handlers never touch my carry-on, only me. I don't mean to say they touch only me, but that only me touches my carry-on.
MBARNUM that is SOME photo of Allison you bid on! Whew! It will be the Allison Hayes photo next Tuesday!
I'm going to watch SMALLVILLE for the first time this season tonight. LOST is a rerun, so I thought I might check out what's been happening to Clark, Lex, and Lana this season. Hope I'll be able to follow it since I've missed all season. It's a rerun as well, but it will be new to me.
I got a lovely package from our very own vixmom - a Benjamin Kritzer bear, in lounging pyjamas, smoking jacket and bunny slippers. How divoon is that? Thank you, vixmom! I shall find a place of importance for the dear bear.
"Aggrandize" aggravates you, Elmore?
I find the aggregate of that statement to be egregious.
I am aghast and aggrieved.

"The Band Wagon" was filmed in Academy ratio.
My question of the day is similar to George's.
How does one know about ratios on DVDs? I wouldn't know one ratio from another, or what ration a film was made in originally. Is it something that is noticable? I just haven't got a clue.
Here's a link that gives some explanation of DVD ratios:

As a young child - this woman played a major role in a VERY FAMOUS motion picture. It is a timeless flick that is a favorite of many people.
Who is she? What character did she play? What is the famous movie she was in? ;D
Hello Larry! Haven't said HI for awhile!
Please tell us, JRand54.
Is it Karen Dotrice who played Jane Banks in "Mary Poppins"? (truly a pivotal role in a timeless film).
Grew up kinda plain, didn't she?
I haven't seen this posted here yet: Robert Blake acquitted.
I have a 1995 Ford Taurus station wagon, which was until very recently when DH forgot and left it on the roof...

LOS ANGELES — The jury in the Robert Blake (search) murder trial has found the "Baretta" actor not guilty of the 2001 murder of his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley (search).
Jurors also acquitted Blake of one charge that Blake solicited murder, but deadlocked on a second solicitation charge. The jury voted 11-1 in favor of acquittal and the judge dismissed the count.
Report: Jewish Extremists Plan to Seize Temple MountWednesday, March 16, 2005
JERUSALEM — Jewish extremists plan to take over a hotly disputed holy site in the Old City of Jerusalem in an attempt to sabotage Israel's planned withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and part of the West Bank in the summer, an Israeli TV station reported Wednesday.
Channel Two TV showed video of a meeting of extremists, including rabbis, where they discussed flooding the site — known to Jews as the Temple Mount and to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary— with Jews, drawing the army and police, apparently to prevent them from evacuating settlers from Gaza and the northern West Bank.
The report said such a move might ignite violence throughout the Middle East. The site is the most hotly contested in the region — where the Al Aqsa Mosque, marking the site where the Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven, is built atop the ruins of the biblical Jewish Temples.
"We must bring 100,000 people to the Temple Mount," said a rabbi identified as Chen Eliahu in video of the meeting, which Channel Two said took place in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. Then, he said, the army and police would be forced to abandon plans to remove settlers from Gaza and the West Bank in order to send soldiers and police to the holy site.
…
Police have warned of attempts to attack the Jerusalem site as a way of sabotaging the pullout, including the possibility of extremists firing a rocket at the mosque, which is clearly visible from the Jewish Quarter of the Old City.
Question for Larry Moore:
I was wondering why dance music in musicals are usually rearrangements of songs,
For example: The Wedding Dance in Brigadoon is Go Home With Bonnie Jean
and not originally music compositions?
Also did Gene Kelly really choreograph all the dances in Brigadoon. The deleted Sword Dance looks very much like Agnes De Mille.
Was anyone except Desi Arnaz Jr in that movie? I didn't remember.
"Dubber" would be the word here in Australia too Hisaka.
Good news for fans of Miyazaki movies.
“Howl's Moving Castle” is coming in the US in June.
Many stars, Billy Crystal, Lauren Bacall, Gene Simmons and more, will appear as dubbers in it.
"Dubber" is a correct word in this case?
Here's a BK question for everyone else too. What is/are the best made-for-TV movies you've ever seen?
It's called RAGE OF THE WEREWOLF.
