This afternoon I am in the bedroom talking to him Yes, I talk to my cat! and I roll past the bathroom and he is spread out on the bath mat looking at me, like, “Who the Hell are you talking to in there?”
Oh well, I thought it was funny.

This is another City Center day. I look forward to it. Joshie has been hired to adapt the original orchestrations for the national tour of the Lincoln Center production of My Fair Lady, and I'm proofreading his work. He's doing a wonderful job, and I love this score.
So that will be my question for ASK BK DAY:
What play would you do with all of us here and who would you cast as whom?
How's that for being put on the spot!
I would like to do THE SUNSHINE BOYS with DR TCB or DR ELMORE or MR BK or any number of other HHW'ers.
We could cast the entire show here.
BK,
Who is playing Loraine Sheldon in TMWCTD?
Ask BK Day: At which performances will you be playing Banjo? Which days of the week have performances? Tickets are not available yet so I can't tell. I see that another show at Group Rep only has performances on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Last night I zonked out quite happily in the recliner. I woke up there at five in the a.m. and went to bed for the duration. Now I’ve spent the last few hours back in the recliner. Quite the life, eh?
Soon I have to face taking the packing off my “wound” and taking a shower and redressing it.
I suppose I could take selfies, but........ nah, I think not. :)
I am out of the shower and sporting a new bandage. Aren’t you all proud of me? Of course you are.
The cut is about two (count ‘em) inches long and has about a thousand stitches. Well, maybe not quite that many. But Nathan says that’s a good thing. On the face, the more stitches the better, for nicest healing.
And I am home from City Center. Josie's work is really good, and I am very proud of him. We had a surprise visit from Rob Berman, who was there for a meeting about the Encores! season. He says he believes the recording of The New Yorkers will be released in early December.
Well, folks, the cardiac cath that I put off back in August is now scheduled for November 14. Today was my “we’ll revisit this in 3 months” cardiologist visit and I’ve reached the point where I’d rather know than not know. Could be nothing...

Hugs, DR Ginny!

The show plays Fridays and Saturdays at eight, and Sundays at 2:00. As of right now, I'll be doing it the final week of the run, but there are currently issues I have to work out first, having to do with the Kritzerland show also occurring that weekend.

Bruce, will your costume guy be nominated for an acting Oscar next year?

DR Jeanne do you have a new date for your surgery?
Made some faux chicken stroganoff.
LOL yes I know it's a hard question....LOL.....so I will withdraw it.
DR Jeanne do you have a new date for your surgery?
No. I have two weeks I'm trying to keep open. After that I have several medical appointments that I can't really reschedule. I suspect it will have to wait until next year. Mostly I'd like a date I can plan around. Trying to be free for a last-minute notification isn't easy.
I went to the hairdresser today, then to my favorite food store.
While I was at the hairdresser a young woman walked in wearing very pale make-up on her face, lots of dark eye make-up, and black lipstick. Her hair had been dyed blonde but had two inches of dark roots AND black sections. She wore a black velvet skirt, camisole, and jacket. Since tomorrow is Halloween I thought this might be a Halloween costume, but didn't dare ask. Someone else did so, though, and we learned that that is her everyday look. Richard, my hairdresser, said to me when he was out of earshot, "That is so ugly!" Usually he says that if he likes the person he likes the hair. Her hair looked very unhealthy.
Jane, my favorite food store had artichoke soup today. It was really good! Made with jerusalem artichokes, leeks, and onions. I was told when I sampled it that it was vegan, but I don't think so. The ingredients label listed chicken stock and cream, and I don't know if you can get that delicious cream taste without real cream. The chicken stock is easy to substitute. If I felt more like cooking I might try it myself at home.
Good news on the Getty fire. Containment is now at 27%, but the air is still VERY dry. The Mandatory Evacuation zone has been decreased, the Evacuation Warning area (be packed up and ready to leave immediately) eliminated, and many areas have been given the OK to "repopluate." Over 7000 homes were affected, representing many more people, as most housed families.
Vibes to our Ginny.

That's hard, and frustrating. I am sure you want to get this over with already.
I also went to the hairdresser today.
Vibes for DR Ginny. I find that the anticipation of these things is usually worse than the thing itself. You are wise to keep busy.
More love and more vibes from both of us, Ginny. (and Liam, too)

My cousin put a lovely post on fb today about what the Regan Library means to her. Later I commented it seems to have been saved. I knew the firefighters did a great job protecting the library. What I didn't know is the library also takes care of protecting the property from fires. In my cousin's words....
"the goats 🐐 cleared the surrounding property all year long" They are "Very aggressive on the clearing. The goats were working hard." :)

Thanks, DR Jeanne! I hope your issue gets resolved, too.
I love MY FAIR LADY as well DR ELMORE....I'm not sure about the latest revival - is it still running - but it would be hard to mess it up.
I am sure it has been done though.
What ever happened to dear reader George, who never posted last night - which is - unusual.

Did you see any "interesting" customers?

The Getty, on the other hand, incorporated a very high-tech fire prevention design. In case of a fire, the Getty would be the place to be.

John G, have you every made jerusalem artichoke soup?
Do you like Jerusalem artichokes? I tend to ignore them in public because they cause flatulence even more than beans. But I do like the flavor.
3 books were suggested at our last meeting & we all, except for the women suggesting them, said no ;D

I've not read enough of the two library books I've started to know whether I like them yet or not. One is Inland by Tea Obreht. The other is Flights by Olga Tokarczul, who just won the Nobel Prize.
Mega vibes for DRs Ginny and ChasSmith.
I was hoping I would still be here when George got back from Seattle, but I don’t think it is going to happen.

Healing vibes for you!
I learned this summer that facial stitches should be removed after 5 days.

DR George we are glad to see you are home.
I texted with my friend this morning and was pleased to learn both her children in Simi Valley are ok. Interesting is the one farthest away is without power & the one close to it has power. The fire is heading away from the one near it.

George has disappeared. Hopefully he'll make an appearance so we know he's okay.

Maybe the helicopter in Miss Saigon bore him away.
Yay, the Nationals won the World Series 😊

Oh trust me, Jrand, it is easier than you might think. I am very familiar with one such production. The Eliza was simply glorious, and well what can I say about the Col. Pickering? He was beyond perfect! But Henry Higgins was so awful, that the entire production was instantly forgettable. Everyone in the company worked their asses off, but it was too late, we had already struck the iceberg.
And they also just said that the California fire is "almost half contained."

Unfortunately, there are currently TEN California fires.
