Well, you've read the notes, the notes got an ovation and were nominated, and now it is time for you to post until the nominated cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TUROPHOBIA!
-
First post after BK.
-
BK, congrats again on the Ovation nomination!
-
Off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I am very happy to see the Democrat victories yesterday. A bad day for Donald Trump and his ilk is like a week-long carnival to me.
-
DR vixmom, I'm so sorry to read about your fall. Were you jealous that DR Ginny had one earlier this year? You must stop these blatant appeals for attention. You will hurt yourself! ;D
-
Seriously, I hope you are okay and feeling better after some rest.
Vibes you are okay!

DR Jeanne, I'm happy that your water was delivered but dismayed about where it was left. When our elevator was out, I was grateful that Val was willing to carry 40 lbs of kitty litter up three flights for me.
-
Today I have more Babes In Toyland work. I am on hold with the choral piece since I am waiting for the commissioner to confirm the lyrics. The song is by Earl Robinson, and I got a copy of the manuscript from his collection at the University of Washington. Some of the lyris are quite hard to read, and since the commissioner has a recording of Robinson singing the song, I need him to confirm that what I've copied is correct.
-
I spoke to Joshie yesterday. He is tied up with band rehearsals for the City Center gala of Evita for the next few days. I may see him over the weekend.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for Vixmom.
-
I need to pack.
-
Congratulations again to BK and Doug for the Ovation nominations!
-
Thank you all for the kind words and vibes for my clumsy self
-
Yesterday Laura said, ”we’ve all known each other a long time”
Yes we have! We’ve all gone through a lot over the years, and I am grateful for the support and laughter and learning . Thank you all for the friendship and thank you BK for being the host that brings us all together!
-
DR vixmom, I'm so sorry to read about your fall. Were you jealous that DR Ginny had one earlier this year? You must stop these blatant appeals for attention. You will hurt yourself! ;D
Well I don’t see why Ginny and Jane and Jeanne should have all the fun!
-
And for those that are wondering, my hip and knee are turning a lovely shade of purple
-
I am glad John had a lovely time in Chicagoland...travel vibes for the trip home
-
I have had a bowl of oatmeal liberally adorned with fresh blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and sliced almonds.
-
And the requisite cup o’ Joe
-
We’ve been bingeing a show called Blacklist starring James Spader as a super criminal turned FBI informant. Alan Alda shows up here and there as a FBI bigwig
-
Good morning, all.
-
HOLY MOLEY, VIXMOM!
What won’t you do next? :)
Actually, don’t answer that...
-
Your description of it reminded me of a spill I took in the pre-dawn hours at Van Nuys Airport back in...
um, 1977.
-
But my only damage was scraped palms from catching myself on a pile of gravel. I went to a clinic later where they gave me a tetanus shot and a couple of bandages.
-
Your black and blue-ness and aches etc. will take a little longer to go away. I’m just very glad you didn’t do worse. And I’m sure you are, too. Falls are harder to take at our tender age.
-
Good morning!
-
Sorry to hear about your fall, DR vixmom! Healing vibes for you!
-
Page 2!
-
Congrats on your nomination, BK!
-
Well, folks, in about two hours my stitches (wait, does anybody remember my stitches? but of course you do!) will have been relegated to the dustbin of history.
DR Ginny: I forgot to report back on this, but I checked with them last week on the number of days involved, and they said one week was this doctor’s standard. I pointed out that this puts me one day over that, and they assured me it was okay. Anyhoo, the work looked really good to a friend who’s familiar with these things. So we shall see!
-
CONGRATS TO BK ON THE OVATION NOMINATION!
-
Congrats to MR BK and Doug on the nominations....an Ovation!
-
DR VIXMOM certainly took her life in her hands when she went out to vote!
Wow!
-
DR JANE has taken up ballet, I hear......Brava!!!
-
I did NOT watch The Little Mermaid last night.
-
Running the show vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
And for those that are wondering, my hip and knee are turning a lovely shade of purple
Itt is amazing how thoses bruises can spread in size.

Your friend's comment is encouraging. I think it will take awjhile for you to agree.
-
Safe and easy travel vibes for DR John.
-
If you have an Alexa be sure to wish her a happy birthday.

Back!
With (I already forget the name) some kind of little flesh colored strips the nurse put on the scar to protect and nurture it for the next few days. You can shower in them and they'll eventually fall off or begin peeling off, then you're done. I asked her what the "count" was and she said it was mostly one long thread but counting the visible loops, it's thirteen. She said the scar will be there for a while but in six months it should be mostly or completely undetectable.
-
Damn, it's a beautiful day out there.
And we're about to be punished for it. We'll be in mid-winter temperatures for several days thanks to this coming whole-of-USA jet stream, and there's even the threat of a first Wintry Mix for next Tuesday or Wednesday. Sorry, it's too soon for this sh crap. Not fair.
-
I think I’ve had enough of the conference. The messages are beginning to sound alike.
-
And the snacks are weird. They just set a few bowls of M&M’s, dried strawberries, flaked coconut and wasabi peas. Huh?
-
I hope they aren't all mixed together.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings! I had set today aside to make a 3rd batch of caramel corn, but decided yesterday that I had enough for the Holiday Bazaar. Plan B was to spend today doing computer work for AAUW and DAR, but I decided to do the updates on my computer first. That has taken until now to complete - hope it's worth it!
-
I hope they aren't all mixed together.
That would be nasty. :P
-

People mixed them together on their plates
-
I shall now be on my way to meeting one, and then directly on to meeting two, after which I shall return.
-
Almost finished with the Babes in Toyland reports. I think tomorrow should do it.
-
I love Quilty's video! He could be Annabelle's twin.

I am at the airport but they won’t let me check my bag for another 11minutes. I’m not happy.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
When are you getting your parakeet?

LOL, I know.

He looks like a sweetheart. We had a cat that opened doors, the round knobs, and cupboards .
-
I am at the airport but they won’t let me check my bag for another 11minutes. I’m not happy.
Odd, how early are you?
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Hi Jeanne.
-
Brian came over today to help me with the cleaning. Given his long drive, I thought he'd need more hours than usual to make it worthwhile. But he wanted to leave at 3 pm to try to beat the traffic, so he was only here a couple hours. I appreciate the help. He can really scrub and I can't. I would have liked him to give my kitchen counters the Brian Treatment, but there was only time to do the kitchen sink, plus vac, dust, and clean the tub/shower. I need to reduce the clutter so it's easier to clean.
-
Hi, Jane.

Packages are frequently left at the base of the stairs. Usually that's fine, but when it's the water I open the box, then carry two bottles at a time up the stairs, necessitating 6 trips.
Our mail delivery isn't very good to start with. I no longer put out outgoing mail because they don't pick it up. I've talked with the supervisor repeatedly, and she seems to want things done right, but the carriers seem to do as they like. This incident was a new low. Not only is it completely disrespectful to people with disabilities, it's disrespectful to the average able-bodied person who can't lift heavy packages.

It is a shame he couldn't have arrived earlier, yet great he worked for two hours. Reducing clutter does help, hard to do though when your place is small.

That's exactly the problem: I need more space. But I also need to get rid of more. I piles up so quickly!

glad to hear you're progressing nicely. I think I was the one who asked about recovery time--I was certainly thinking it. I find that hearing from others who go through these things gives me a better idea of what to expect should it happen to me, and thus reduces the fear and anxiety.

Quilty sounds like quite an interesting cat!

I watched DEATH IN PARADISE last night. I knew the character Dwayne would be leaving and that's a shame, as I liked him. Otherwise, I still enjoy it.

TTFN.

I think the same way.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
When are you getting your parakeet?
The twelfth - of never. I think I would not be able to take care of it properly.
-
Back from a totally stupid waste of my time meeting, and then a good, productive lunch meeting. I'll save the details of the first meeting for the notes.
-
I watched DEATH IN PARADISE last night. I knew the character Dwayne would be leaving and that's a shame, as I liked him. Otherwise, I still enjoy it.
I am glad you still liked it. We would consider giving it a try with the new lead. We didn't care for the last one.
-
Last night we finished watching season 2 of "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan". We watched two episodes a night and was surprised how quickly we were done watching. I hope there will be a third season.
-
I am at the airport but they won’t let me check my bag for another 11minutes. I’m not happy.
Odd, how early are you?
I was 4 hours 11 minutes early.
-
I have had dinner and am slowly working my way through Zola’s The Paradise. I have about 130 pages left.

They should have known the margins were clear before he left the doctor's office.

Lab results were the reason for the removal. MOHS surgery gets rid of the thing. I just have to have a full body skin exam yearly from now on.

Good evening.
-
Sometime in the night or early morning I either sneezed or coughed and managed to pull something in my upper back.
-
I didn’t realize anything was wrong until I tried to get out of bed.
-
The pain was pretty intense, but it managed to get even worse as the day went on.
-
Finally at about 2:30 this afternoon, I took a pain pill and a muscle relaxer and went to bed.
-
We’re boarding.
~~~Travel Vibes for John!!~~~
The pain was pretty intense, but it managed to get even worse as the day went on.
Oh, no!
-
Fortunately, I now have an adjustable bed, so that I can sit up to read or watch TV without any effort.
~~~Feel Better Quickly Vibes for Tom!!~~~

It also has massage units for the back and the legs.
-
I try not to use the massage units when Nick is trying to sleep under the bed.

That would be Nick the kitty, not some bum I found sleeping under my bed.

So far, I am not getting any better.

But I will probably be falling asleep earlier than normal.

I hope it helps, Tom.

And now, I hate to do it, but I must be off.
Until later. But first...

Hi, Jane.

Thanks for the travel vibes. Home in time for bed.

It’s hot here compared to Chicago. After midnight, it’s 69 degrees.

I had the heat on when I left.

Good night, all.

Back from rehearsal.

DR Jeanne, I'm happy that your water was delivered but dismayed about where it was left. When our elevator was out, I was grateful that Val was willing to carry 40 lbs of kitty litter up three flights for me.
Perhaps she was afraid that she might drop it and break it, in which case she would have to notify her supervisor that her water broke.

I was so shocked by what happened on last night’s episode, that I almost came down with the vapors!

In these kinds of TV show killings, I always wonder if it was the actor who wanted out of the show, or if the producers wanted to get rid of the actor.
