Well, you've read the notes, the notes were run-through, and now it is time for you to post until the at long last cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: DUENDE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after BK.
-
BK, I hope you told your cast about the changes in the rehearsal schedule. There is nothing worse than spending the day trying to master all of your lines in the show, only to get to rehearsal and find out you should have just focused on Act 2.

No old actors lunch
tomorrow today.
-
Instead I am taking my friend Tracy to the airport.
-
Steve Kornacki is going to be on Late Night with Seth Meyers tonight.
-
Well, that isn't why there is no old actors lunch.

Steve Kornacki is going to be on Late Night with Seth Meyers tonight.
I have no idea who that is.

That was a joke. I know Seth Meyers. I didn’t know Steve Kornbread.

Good night.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good mornng, all!

I am home today. I am caught up with Joshie at City Center, so I will stay home, work on my choral piece, abd listen to the impeachment hearings.
-
When I was in high school, two of my favorite books - which I read over and over again - were Six Plays by Rodgers & Hammerstein and Six Plays by Kaufman and Hart. All of BK's comments on "The Man Who Came To Dinner" have got me hot to read it again, so last night I read Act One. I had completely forgotten all that happens before Whiteside makes his first appearance. It's fast and furious.
Now I want to see BK's production.
-
I also want to go back to bed for another hour. Because I was reading Kaufman and Hart last night, I got to bed an hour later than I usually do.
-
Good morning

Cold be gone vibes for TCB

Vibes of all kinds for Elmore

Prayers and vibes for John his dad and family

I must get a move on
-
I loved THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER......I have directed it once and played Banjo a few years ago.
Yes it is fun to read Kaufman & Hart now and then. I am happy we are doing YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU......I am going to audition for Kholenkhov.....but I will prolly get something else....but I am starting to learn his lines - just in case my wish comes true.
-
I think I lost my duende in my surgery.

Vibes for a good day for The Whole Dang Bunch O’ Us

My question for AX BK DAY:
[It's not about parakeets]
Do you receive royalties from your tv appearances when they are sold on DVDs? Or is it not indicated on your check?
-
It is 14 degrees right now. My sister and I are going to Aldi's in a couple of hours.
-
Test vibes for DR JOHN G's father.
-
When I see that newsman that DR GEORGE was talking about, I always think it's Jake Lacy.

Good morning, all.
-
Well, it's warmed up from the mid-teens to 23 degrees outside, and we should get up to about freezing today.
Back to 13 tonight, though.

I LOVED those books, also discovered in high school, and I still have my original copies. The Modern Library editions themselves were a joy to discover then -- those two, along with The Canterbury Tales (which I never read all the way through but I still treasure that damned book) and the Gilbert & Sullivan plays in the Modern Library "Giant" edition.
-
I remember where I bought most of them, too. Gaul's Books & Records in Fort Lauderdale. Probably my first store of such wonderful discoveries.
I'm afraid this poor Rodgers & Hammerstein dust jacket got abused, as I was wont to abuse things in those days, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
-
In pulling these off the shelf, I'm reminded that the Kaufman & Hart book was NOT the one I first read in those years. My copy of "The Man Who Came to Dinner" was in Six Modern American Plays. That and ""The Glass Menagerie" were my most-read plays from this book. In fact, it's the only one of these that isn't my original as that copy had been abused into nothingness years ago. I later acquired this one, and cut out and stored with it my silly little note of identification and date/place of purchase. Burdine's was a wonderful South Florida department store, and those were the days when department stores took pride in having respectable book and record departments.
-
This one's for DR Elmore, who got me going on this so early in the day.
-
Getting back to the weather, I am SOOOO glad yesterday's jet stream cold front storm did NOT drop any snow or even very much rain here. We had about five minutes of snow in the middle of the day, then it stopped and the rest of the weather pattern moved over us without so much as a peep. Thank you for that, Mother. <(Nature, of course)
-
Vibes for TCB and the cold from Hell.
That's the one I had several weeks ago, and I made sure to return it promptly so that someone else could use it.

Vibes for DR John G. and family.

Good morning!

The cold is bad enough.

I feel bad complaining about our rain and cooler temps yesterday.

Today it should be back up to the mid 50's.

Yes - small amounts.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I was in bed by two but had a terrible allergy attack and so didn't fall asleep until three-thirty. Alarm went off at eleven but I stayed in bed until noon - eight hours of sleep, I think.
-
I spent the day working on the choral piece (1st chorus written) and watching the impeachment hearings with the cats.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Talked to Mom this morning. No news yet.
-
My brother-in-law was in a three-car accident today. Thankfully no one was injured.

There's definitely a similarity between them.

Since when does winter start in November? 20 cms of snow on Monday/Tuesday. Freezing cold weather. This is ridiculous. :(
-
Vibes for DR JohnG's father and also for his brother-in-law!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

DR Jane re: your library ebooks. If you keep the wifi off your device your books won't automatically return. And you can finish them.
-
I did not find squash for Birdy Barnum. He has a few hunks in his treat bowl.....but he is ignoring them.
I expect I will find them on the floor in the morning.
-
Black Narcissus is on TCM in about 40 minutes and it will be followed by The Red Chews.....so I shall probably spend the evening watching them.
-
My brother-in-law was in a three-car accident today. Thankfully no one was injured.
Scary but great no one was hurt.

Similar temps but more snow than Chicago got.
-
I cannot find my DVD of "The Man Who Came To Dinner." Damn!
-
The kitties clamor for treats, so I'll be signing off for the night.
-
DR Jane re: your library ebooks. If you keep the wifi off your device your books won't automatically return. And you can finish them.
I know thanks. If I turn off the wifi I won't be able to post at night or in the morning.
-
Of course if I didn't post on my tablet I would do my shoulder a favor.
-
Happy Birthday to Richard!
-
Feel better vibes for DR TCB!
-
Back from a chicken salad sandwich and picking up some packages. Have to leave in less than two hours.
-
Listening to the Weinberg string quartets - the early ones are really nice, the later ones are a bit more strident.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! Today is Richard's birthday and we're celebrating with Rob and Mary Linda this evening at Dewey's Pizza.
A Very Happy Birthday to Richard!! :D
-
My brother-in-law was in a three-car accident today. Thankfully no one was injured.
Oh, my goodness! :o No injuries is very good news!

so that was a post anyway. :)
-
DR Jane re: your library ebooks. If you keep the wifi off your device your books won't automatically return. And you can finish them.
It's called workin' the system. ;) I NEVER turn on the Wi-Fi on my Kindles. I always download OverDrive library e-books via USB cable and keep them.
-
I should be able to read all of the books.
-

Ginny I hope you haven't planned any activities for a week and plan to take it easy.
My calendar is pretty clear, at least through the weekend. The things scheduled for next week aren’t major and totally skippable, if necessary.
-
Good. Please don't push it.
-
If you don't feel up to posting please have Richard send DR elmore a message so he can let us know you are ok.
-
If not to Larry, please give him my info.

Super duper vibes from me, too.
-
Happy birthday, Richard!
-
I need to get back and finish my article tonight.
-
Our niece was in Chicago and sent photos from her visit with Bryan & Kate. They are all bundle up in heavy winter clothing. I think they were about to leave the restaurant as their faces weren't red from the cold ;D
-
My niece lives in sunny LA. Since she no longer had her winter coats from her years in Michigan & NY she had to go buy a coat for this trip.
-
Happy Birthday Richard!

Be back later.
-
I have just finished the story. And I need to get to bed.
-
But I may be too wound up to sleep.
-
It's back to being very cold here.
-
Cold for San Antonio vs those experiencing below freezing temps?

Back from a good working rehearsal. We only did act two - and I was quite thorough, added stuff, changed some blocking to keep things fluid, but mostly kept going back and running things several times so no one can use the excuse we didn't do that. We actually had some funny things happen tonight and everyone gets energized when that happens. So, we do the same for act three tonight, then Friday I work on some new act one blocking for twenty minutes, and then we do a run-through. The blocking looks really good when everyone is sharp, so that's good. But act two is a bear - so much going on but tonight we began to find the shape of it and how to connect the dots.I think when the lines are perfectly known, then we can really notch up the pace of it.
