Well, you've read the notes, the notes were mousy and roared, and now it is time for you to post until the roaring cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: WEAL!
-
First post after BK.
-
Today, I'm going to meet with my friend Silva. She and I are designing the sound for Equivocation together. During the run of the show, I'll run sound and Silva will be backstage as part of the running crew.
-
After our meeting, I'm going back to my parents' to help take apart my parents' Christmas tree and put it in the garage. I'm sure that I'll need to do some other things. We'll see. After that, I'll have some leftover spaghetti from yesterday, and the dessert that I didn't have time to have. Then I'll come home.
-
But first, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all. Not sleeping well.
-
George, Mavis Staples is a wonder. She performed here twice recently. The first time, it was with the Blind Boys of Alabama snd it was sold out. The second time, she was by herself and the crowd was less than 400. Still she performed as if the house were full of her very best friends.
-
Back to sleep.
-
I finished my book.
-
DR TCB do you have enough food until you can get out again or receive a delivery?
I hope someone shovels in front of your place.
-
I finished my book.
What did you read?
-
Good morning, all!
-
I fed the cats at 6:30 and went back to bed for several hours.
-
This is my own fault since I've been quite delinquent about my HMO and these hip-knee injections, but my left leg has been a real bother lately, and I suspect I reallt really need a knee injection of cortisone. My walk from City Center to Seventh Avenue about half a block - took so long and was so painful that I grabbed the taxi to get to the pharmacy. Once I got home, every move about the apartment was torture.
-
So, tomorrow morning, first thing, I will call my HMO, check on referral status, and if all is good, make an appointment with Dr Re.
-
I need to do laundry today, and I am not looking forward to any of it. When I take the recyclables to the basement, I'll check my lauindry card and see if I have enough money on it to do the laundry.
-
DR Laura, how's your back today? I hope you're feeling better.
-
Good morning, all.
-
An amazing phenomenon, those dead audiences.
-
I don’t have much to say for myself this morning, but here I am anyway.
-
We have our second of two spring days today. They’re so lovely, it’s just sad to remember where in the year we actually are.
-
The laundry has gone into the washers. It's going to be a long day.
-
Closing performance vibes to MR BK & Co.
-
Back vibes for DR LAURA.
-
Continued vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
DR JEANNE the Queen's comments remain unrecorded.
-
I'm up, I'm up - five and a half hours of sleep. Before falling asleep I had a thought that I hadn't set the alarm, then thought I must have and fell asleep. I woke up wondering the same thing and so checked to find out I hadn't and had slept an additional twenty minutes. Thank goodness for my inner alarm, but I now must rush and get ready and then be on my way to the theater.
-
Well, I finally got the laundry into the dryers.
-
DR Jeanne, I do not doubt the money will be put back into my account. This happens far too often with my bank's ATMs. It's ridiculous.
-
I finished my book.
What did you read?
Cemetery Road by Greg Iles.
-
Oh good. I see I posted that at 2:00, not 3:00 which means I had an extra hour of sleep.
-
Five hours of sleep instead of four :)
-
So, tomorrow morning, first thing, I will call my HMO, check on referral status, and if all is good, make an appointment with Dr Re.
Vibes all is good and you can get that shot super fast.

Craig explained the laundry card to us when we visited. He needs cash to put money on it. Do you or can you charge it?

DITTO!

Do they charge you to go inside and take out money? My bank doesn't but I know some do.
-
DR George are you looking forward to watching "Star Trek: Picard"?

My bank does not charge me to withdraw money fromn one of their ATMs.
-
The laundry is finished and put away, the bedding reassembled, the air purifier filter changed, trash and recyclables taken to the basement, and that is all I'm doing today.

That is easier.

Not the ATM, if you go inside to withdraw money. I had read some banks do that, or at one time talked about doing it.
Going to a teller when possible would reduce the risk of this happening again.

DITTO!
I'll ditto that ditto.
-
Up from a nap.
-
watching a fun little noir called Chase a Crooked Shadow. Anne Baxter, Richard Todd, Herbert Lom and some lovely on-location filming near Barcelona.
-
Picked up Hustlers from the library today, so I guess that's also on the agenda for later.
-
George, this production of The Tempest was from the same Donmar group that did the Julius Caesar you saw. Henry V was the third in the trilogy they staged.
-
Nice, unexpected plot twist at the end of Chase a Crooked Shadow.
-
I don't believe I have seen this, or totally forgot about it.
-
Just put on a pot of tomato, celery and apple soup. I haven't made it in a while. May be my favorite -- and it's vegan, which is a surprise, to me at least.
-

This means something quite different in Indy.
-
Oh, my.
-
In other news, I believe my 6-year-old Windows laptop has bought the farm.
It’s too bad it couldn’t have bought DR Elmore’s property.
But it’s dead. Well, maybe it’s just resting.
-
Fortunately I saw this coming, and everything (I hope) important to me is backed up. And I have the MacBook to use.
I will eventually need me some Windows again for a few things that don’t exist in the Apple world. But it can wait for a while.

Ha.
-
Computer vibes for ChasSmith.
-
Hustlers is Scorcese-lite. It isn't bad, but it could learn a lesson from Bombshell. Like that movie, the characters here are sympathetic portrayals of people who are basically unsympathetic. But Bombshell was 90 minutes long. This is 1:50 and it could stand to lose 20 minutes. Again, I feel the most for the kids.

Three!

Sunday evening greetings! I accompanied Fr. Richard to church in Dayton today because he substituted for ailing Fr. Wayne. We have vegged all afternoon, except when our neighbor's son arrived to haul away that recliner I've had up for grabs since October. Yay!

Manhattan, too!

It's about time to settle down with the kitties for the night. I'm glad to put my feet up and put no more pressure on my left leg tonight. Annabelle seems restless tonight. She wasn't thrilled about breakfast or dinner tonight, so she may be fighting a cold or something. Stella has become a little puppy and follows me around and under my feet whenever I begin to move. All Thatch wants to do is lie on my bed, be scratched and petted, then stretch out to his full length of about 30 inches for me to rub his tummy and scratch under his chin.
-
I'm still craving chocolate. As soon as my City Center payment lands, I'm buying some Cadbury fruit and nut bars.

Yay on the recliner.

Has anyone seen All Is True, a film in which Kenneth Branagh plays William Shakespeare? Judi Dench and Ian McKellan are also in the cast.
-
Nope.
-
DR George are you looking forward to watching "Star Trek: Picard"?
If it's on CBS All Access, I won't get to see it until it's released on DVD. But I'd really like to see it.
-

It would probably be on interest to Shakespeare completists and Kenneth Branagh fans. The ending featured Judi Dench as Shakespeare's wife with his daughters reciting the "Fear No More" speech. It's followed by a musical version of the same speech, which seemed overkill.
And no, they didn't use Sondheim's musical setting of the same. The version in the film, by Patrick Doyle, is faux Elizabethan and not all that good.
-
Now watching an oldie, but I haven't decided if it's a goodie yet. International House with Peggy Hopkins Joyce, W.C. Fields, Burns and Allen, Franklin Pangborn, Bela Lugosi, Cab Calloway and some dated humor that it is a bit racist by today's standards.
Burns and Allen are hilarious.

Cool! I didn't know that there was a trilogy. There's nothing on Amazon.com, but it's available from Amazon.co.uk here:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07Y4NDZ2J/ (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07Y4NDZ2J/). I just ordered it!
-
This movie has one of the weirdest pre-Production Code musical numbers I've ever seen. Sterling Holloway and some scantily clad women doing "She Was a Chinese Tea Cup and He Was a Coffee Mug." I can't find it on YouTube, otherwise I would share it.

I haven't heard of this.

I have no idea what I was planning to write there

I just bought it based on cast and subject but have not watched it yet

Doctor Who is on now. The gang get enough coupons to enjoy a free two-week vacation inclusive (meaning everything is free), but there's some kind of monster there, and all hell breaks loose! :o
-
Back from the final performance of The Man Who Came to Dinner - went out with a great audience and a great show, about which more in the notes. Then Barry Pearl and I went to the Smoke House to celebrate.
-
And now I really must get some writing done tonight.

Congrats on the great final performance, BK!
-
Great news on the closing of the show.

Cab Calloway shows up to sing about that funny, funny reefer man.

Well, Silva and I met and discussed what audio files each of us has, and we talked about music possibilities, and we both feel pretty confident this point.
-
There's going to be a production meeting on Wednesday, so we'll be able to ask some questions and get some more specific direction.
-
Good night, all.
-
Good night, John.
-
I have a couple of ideas for the pre-show and intermission music, but that's something pug the director needs to have input on.
-

My mom asked if I could look at my dad's front driver side tire because my dad thought that he might've hit something. :-\
-
It turns out that he just blew a tire.
-
And here it is. :o
-
Gratuitous Post #100!

I was able to put the donut spare tire on and put the bad tire in the trunk.
-
My mom will take it to Les Schwab tomorrow.
-
She also finally made the decision to take away his car keys from him.
-
He's been showing signs of dementia over the last year or so.
-
His mother had Alzheimer's disease, and it really looks like he might have it.
-
Of course, that means that I could develop it.
-
But that won't happen for a long time.
-
Not to be a downer or anything. ::)
;)

Wow, having experienced that happen while driving I am surprised he didn't know what it was. Hitting something seems like a good guess.
-
She also finally made the decision to take away his car keys from him.
Oh, sorry :(
-
Is your mother going to have him properly tested?
-
Is your mother going to have him properly tested?
I don't know. It's pretty obvious. He's a little weak, but otherwise pretty healthy.

Good evening.
-
The snow has already started to the north of me.
-
And they said it has just started to the south of me.
-
That would be George’s neighborhood.
-
Tacoma has, so far, been skipped entirely.
-
So far, we have barely a trace.
-
But they said it was heading our way.
-
watching a fun little noir called Chase a Crooked Shadow. Anne Baxter, Richard Todd, Herbert Lom and some lovely on-location filming near Barcelona.
I saw that movie in a theater when I was a kid. Actually, I saw it a couple of times.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
It was probably a bit adult for me, but I enjoyed - and the twist at the end.
-
Hello, George.
-
I am sorry about your father, George.
-
BK, congratulations, not only on your final performance, but on the entire run of the show.
-
Oscar nominations in the morning.
-
And they said it has just started to the south of me.
That would be George’s neighborhood.
Yup! There is a light smattering of snow on the ground and roof (that I can see at this hour).
-
I hate it when it smatters!
-
From the weather map they showed on the news, it looks like Jane and Keith already have some snow, or they will have by morning.
-
I finished a strange book last night. Well, strange may not be the right word. The book is titled THE LAST CRUISE by Kate Christensen.
-
I enjoyed it and I had trouble putting it down, but I am not sure that I understand the ending.
