Well, you've read the notes, the notes were soggy and fried and nauseating, and now it is time for you to post until the soggy, fried, and nauseating cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CAVALCADE!
-
Hello.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Terrible night. I dozed on and off, but I was restless and awake most of the time. I'm happy to up and moving about.
-
I'm going to try this downgrade on iTunes today, and I'm hoping it works.
-
The Fat Orange Slug is going to have a press conference at noon. I'm sure it will be horrible. I really want to read the news that he's dead.
-
Thursday's child has far to go
I always thought it meant working hard and seeing how far it would take you.
-
CBS This Morning just had a short tribute on Kirk Douglas. I first saw him in one of my all-time favorite films, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Last year I read his wonderful book I Am Spartacus. I recommend it highly.

This is close to my take on it.

Good morning!

Yes. Or that there was potential for great success ahead. Something like that.

It’s a weird day. Yesterday, Kristi and Nathan left for a couple of days at some water park in the Poconos, a little getaway for her birthday. So, to me it felt like a Friday or Saturday. And it felt like a Saturday for the rest of the day and evening. This morning it feels like... a Saturday.
We have a piano brush up run-through this evening, which might set me straight on which day it is. Then, I predict that tomorrow morning is going to feel like... a Saturday.
-
Kitty cleanup is accomplished, and I need to make the bed and take the trash to the basement. I have an orchestration of Sondheim's "Loving You" to write for my London conductor friend.
-
Unless I must step out, I'm staying in.
-
I cannot tell you how much I like Dr. Mohr. She's not just a good vet, buy a really good and interesting lady. Annabelle, given her discomfort with the rectal thermometer and being pulled pillar to post in examination, had hugs for the doctor and the young assistant.
-
Is Annabelle back to feeling her normal self, or close to it?
-
Last night, in a rare evening of plain old TV watching, I turned to TCM and saw the last third or so of THE APARTMENT. I’d thought I would watch only a few minutes of it, but it had been quite a long time for me and I found myself glued to Billy Wilder’s genius.
Later they were showing THE CHINA SYNDROME, and I decided to catch just the first five or ten minutes of that. I’d seen it maybe a year ago for my first time in years, and had been entertained well enough by it, so I didn’t expect more than that this time. Well, I sat there absolutely glued to it, savoring every element of its glorious late-70s paranoia/conspiracy/journalistic wonderfulness.
-
That’s a fair amount of gluing for one evening.
-
Is Annabelle back to feeling her normal self, or close to it?
She ate, and that was good. I need to give her her antibiotic.

Thursday morning greetings! We're waiting for Rob and the cat to show up. Rob will sleep here today before he works his last night shift and the cat is escaping the chaos of the packing that's taking place in their home today. We think Mary Linda will be here when that's finished.
-
Thank you to DRs George, John G, Vixmom, and TCB for the vibes that were left for me last night. I put the air cast on myself this morning and it doesn't feel as good as when Ashley did it yesterday. I'll try to get some tips from Paramedic Rob today and Athletic Trainer Lauren on Saturday.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Downgrade vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
I think I used to watch a Cavalcade of Sports brought to me by Gillette.....
-
Health vibes for MR BK - and show vibes!
-
Vibes for DR GEORGE the octopus who is doing everything but selling the tickets and sweeping the floor.....
-
DR CHAS SMITH the same thing happened to me last night on TCM.....I watched both movies all the way through.... I didn't stick around for CAT BALLOU, but I was tempted.....
CAT: Keep the ranch. I don't want it now that he's gone. But this town hasn't seen the last of me - I'll come back - and when I do, I'll make Sherman's march to the sea look like a bird walk!"
.....or something like that.....
-
More snow predicted for us tonight......but not too bad right now...
-
I recently bought Ace in the Hole. Will have to watch that this weekend. That and Out of the Past may be my favorite Kirk Douglas performances.
-
I chickened out on the downgrade. I need more help than I'm getting.
-
Just did one of those free profile tests that was rather fun. And it’s free.

Rob and Allie are settling in, but the cat knows something is up and she's a basket case. Rob's about to crash for the day, so maybe she'll calm down.

Is it an indoor water park? The only reason I went to the Poconos in the winter was to ski.
Enjoy your Saturday.

Last night shift, packing, all the craziness of moving. Sending you hugs Ginny.

It is always hard on the pets, especially the cats.

Did Rob have any tips before heading to sleep? I bet you can also find some videos on the internet.

It's now 3:38 on the east coast, so I'm glad I missed it. ;)

I don't care what anyone says, I really like the score to Passion. :)

I remember recording a TCM broadcast of THE CHINA SYNDROME a few years ago. I was riveted, too.

Vibes for DR GEORGE the octopus who is doing everything but selling the tickets and sweeping the floor.....
Thanks, Jrand! And fortunately, I do NOT have to do those menial tasks.
-
Moving and coping vibes for the CAT at DR GINNY's house.
-
More snow predicted for us tonight......but not too bad right now...
Yikes! :o
-
It's sprinkling a bit here in Tumwater.
-
I just received three emails from Amazon Costumer Services....
Dear Costumer.....apparently they have blocked my account - although nothing seems to be amiss on the site.....
-
I feel bad for those of you dealing with snow. It is currently 54 degrees and we do not have rain :)

Rob said all he knows about this kind of cast is how to search it for contraband, a skill he used as a jail medic. He offer to show me how to smuggle drugs and/or weapons in it.
-

Well, Mary Linda is here now and Allie is very content in her lap.
-
Air cast vibes for DR GINNY and you never know when ANY knowledge will be valuable.
-
I wonder how MR BK is feeling today?

I've gotten a few of those recently, but never to the e-mail that's actually attached to my Amazon account. :))

Annabelle had her first dose this afternoon and to my surprise she's not avoiding me.

I unfortunately caught the last 20 minutes or so. It was like a really repellant standup comedy act, with "funny" anecdotes about the sleazebag asses he was praising for helping him beat his rap, like Devin Nunes and his scumbag attorneys. God knows ghow much of it was lies. It has to be one of the most embarrassing 20 minutes of public masturbation accompanied by that dead voice.

We were supposed to get a mini snow storm today and a bigger one tomorrow. But so far it hasn't been too bad. But overnight and tomorrow should still be a lot of snow.
-
I hope DR TCB is feeling okay. I was sure he would have a riposte to my comment about his finding a calendar for the year he was born.
-
Last night I began reading Andre Previn's funny bio about growing up in Hollywood, No Minor Chords. There are great stories about the MGM music dept.

Good.

I'm up, I'm up - I got up at one after about eleven hours of sleep. This time Ny-Quil worked fine and other than having some of the most disturbing dreams ever, I slept like a log.

I love into the woods

I shall now be on my way to the mail place, then to grab something to take to the theater to eat, and then to the theater.
-
And now, I'm off to the theater. Tonight, I'll actually run both the sound and light boards. Pray for Rosemary's Baby!! PLEASE!! I'm sure that I'll do fine, but it's always nerve-wracking to run a board for the first time. And tonight is the final dress/free preview! There will be an audience! :o I'm sure that I won't be able to post during the show, so...
Be back later!
-
GOOD VIBES!
-
Oh my it is quiet here.
-
GOOD VIBES!
Thanks, Jane!
-
Oh my it is quiet here.
Yes. ::)
-
On the bright side, the show is going well...so far.
-
I'm (still) not running the light board, yet.
-
The lighting designer was finishing up some detail work on the light board, so she's running it now.
-
I assume that that will also be the last chance that she has to make sure everything is perfect for the paying audiences.
-
Back to the show!
-
Tonight vixdad took me to the California Pizza Kitchen
-
It was our first visit there for many months
-
They changed the menu, although my Thai Pizza was still there the Jamaican Nerk Chicken pizza is no longer available
-
Vixdad was mightily disappointed
-
Good evening, all.
-
Where is everyone?
-
Elsewhere obviously.
-
Because we're still on page 3.
-
That's page 3 on which we're still.
-
Page 3. Got it?
-
It's time to move on.
-
Four!
-
I finished the Springsteen film tonight. Every time I have seen him in concert (seven times now), he likes to close his show with a cover song. It could be Twist and Shout or Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town. But it's something playful and he loves doing it.
-
He closed out Western Stars with Rhinestone Cowboy, which fit the set perfectly, because the album is filled with his version of that kind of '70s music, his take on a Jimmy Webb song. But the life in Rhinestone is exactly what seems to be missing from too much of the rest of the film. He has the write idea in the lyrics thematically, and many of the songs have great hooks and melodies, but they aren't Springsteen, so they come off as being pale imitations and not the real deal.
-
Then I watched Water and Sugar: Carlo Di Palma, The Colours of Life, a documentary about the great cinematographer. He worked on some of the greats of Italian cinema, including Visconti and Antonioni, as well as Woody Allen. The images are spectacular. I need to start watching some of his movies again. My favorite of what I've seen is probably Radio Days, though Blow-Up is also killer.
-
To achieve the greens they wanted in Blow-Up, apparently they had to paint the park green every day because the natural color of yellow kept coming through.
-
Hey, it's a post.
-
I'm reading Oliver Sacks' The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat. In one section, he talks about aphasiacs laughing uproariously during the State of the Union address given by the president identified only as "an actor." It seems they can detect being lied to with uncanny clarity, and they find that funny. Imagine what they would have made of this week's address.
-
I should be in bed right now.
-
But I couldn't sleep last night, so I'm going to try going to bed later and hopefully sleep the night through.
-
Gratuitous post No. 99.
-
Tomorrow I get to usher for Stomp.
-
In all these years, I've never seen the show. So, I'm looking forward to it.
-
I have run out of stuff to say.
-
So, I'm going to call it quits for the night.
-
Cranberries!
-
Underpants!
-
And we're on the second half of page four!
-
So, good night, all.
-
And happy posting.
-
On the bright side, the show is going well...so far.
Good.
-
Tonight vixdad took me to the California Pizza Kitchen
Have you tried the cauliflower crust. It is very good.

That is a very I interesting book. I can't recall if he talks about his own problem recognizing faces.
-
I am going to read until I was asleep. With luck I will stay asleep instead of waking at 2:00.

I've had the one act opera version of that since I was in college. It's very different from most of the stuff that I like, but I really like recording. :)
-
Tomorrow I get to usher for Stomp.
Cool! I saw that in Greenwich Village the one time I went to NYC in 1995! They've also come to Olympia a couple of times.
-
And we're done! I missed a couple of sound cues, but that's all. I need to get out of here, so I should be back before the new day.
-
A lull. ::)
-
I'm home.
-
I hope DR TCB is feeling okay. I was sure he would have a riposte to my comment about his finding a calendar for the year he was born.
Actually, my birth certificate is carved on the wall of the cave where you grew up.
-
I'm fed.
-
And my cat is eating. :)
-
Hi, Tom.
-
It's finally Page Five!
-
Back from an almost perfect show - the cast WAS perfect. They finally all gave me the performance I knew they would - all notes addressed perfectly. The pace was fantastic, we got laughs and we got tears. The technical end was almost perfect - just a couple of things to address and it will be. And now, we open.
-
Mayor Pete is going to be on STEPHEN COLBERT tonight.
-
Hello, George.
-
I guess I am trying to make myself too sick to go to callbacks.
-
I spent the entire day asleep in bed.
-
I woke up this afternoon, and I didn’t remember getting up and feeding Nick is breakfast.
-
Fortunately, I did.
-
Either that, or he fed himself.
-
But I also cleaned the litter box.
-
I know he didn’t do that himself.
-
Mayor Pete is going to be on STEPHEN COLBERT tonight.
I'm recording it and am watching an episode that I had recorded previously.

-
Well, I must get ready to try to sleep.
-
Good night, George.

Not at all, but when possible I like to watch them in order.
-
But that's just me.
-
Good night, George.
Good night, Tom.
-
Topic of the Day: I can't say that I've ever really gotten to a point that could be called "darkness" or "depression," but if not feeling emotionally up, I'll listen to cast recordings that I love, like Follies in Concert, or the Broadway cast recording of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Laurie Beechman.
