Well, you've read the notes, the notes experimented with experiment two, and now it is time for you to post until the two experimenting cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PRIMAVERAL!
-
Topic of the Day: in my computer's disc burner, a still burning Blu-ray of War Horse. I started it around 8:00 last night, and it still has a half hour to go.
-
I think it'll be pretty cool when it's all done. :)
-
Today, I really am going to go into work. I don't want to wait the whole weekend to get the cat food that I ordered through Amazon. And I want to get started on paying the invoices that need to be paid so that I can compile the report for the finance office to actually pay the bills.
-
Well, the disc is finally done, but I think something went wrong! I put it in my Blu-ray player, and all that I get is a white blank screen! What's that all about?? I may have to burn another copy while I'm sleeping and see what happens with that copy. :-\
-
And so, I'll set up my computer to burn another copy, then I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I believe those doses of Lysine gel are picking up Annabelle's health. There's been no horrific sneezing and snorting for twelve hours. And . . . she ate breakfast.
-
Friday morning greetings! Apparently I forgot to log out last night. I was awakened at 3:30 by a thunderstorm, and again at 4:45. Eventually went back to sleep, but had some weird dreams.
-
This is laundry day. As soon as kitty cleanup is over, I will head to the laundry room. I also need to step out and pick up a bottle of apple juice. I can only drink clear liquids on Sunday. I won't be purchasing much until I am home from hospital.

I never log out.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I must get up and roll across the hall.
-
I don’t wanna.
-
I’m logged on. And away we go.

HAVE I GOT A DEAL FOR YOU!
My long time publisher is ceasing business, and as a result, I have inherited their inventory of the four (4) books of mine that they published. Eventually, I will be re-formatting them for Amazon, so they can be printed/sold "on demand," but in the meantime, I have this inventory.
The books retail from $11.95 to $14.95, but I am selling them directly for $7.50 each + $5.00 shipping (within the USA).
Even better: Take 2 or more (of different titles), and you can have them for $6.00 each + the $5.00 shipping (within the USA).
All books will be signed by me to whomever you want.
The titles are:
THE ART OF STORYTELLING
CHEYENNE WARRIOR (The Original Screenplay with Author Commentary)
and 2 novels:
NOBODY DROWNS IN MINERAL LAKE
SHADOW WATCHER
You can look the books up on Amazon for more information.
Please contact me directly, and we'll make arrangements.
Thanks.

The laundry is in the washers and that means kitty cleanup is over. When I go down to the basement, I have a lot of recyclables to tote with me.
-
After I make the bed, I will plan my bodega trip. I need to do a shopping list.
-
Just finishing breakfast then I must jump in the shower
-
Steel cut oatmeal, fresh sliced strawberries, slivered almonds
-
And coffee
-
What else would you cut the oats with if not steel?
-
Plastic knives?
-
I long for those days when I could moan “I wish I could stay home”
-
Now I live in dread of the day when they say “you must stay home”
-
Showertime
-
Be well vibes for everyone
-
Bed made, bodega visited, and I can barely stand from the pain in my legs. I've truied Tylenol since it;s not aspirin but it does nothing like Advil.
-
I think the cats and I are stocked up well enough to get us through the end of the month since I have no idea how well I'll be feeling when I'm back from the surgery. I figure I'll be feeling fit after the week is over.
-
I need to climb the Big Ladder and bring down enough cat food to last us for a bit, and I need to climb the Little Ladder and put away things in the kitchen.
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
I couldn't get in last night to post.
-
Jeanne I forgot about Amy's Kitchen pot pies.
-
DR Jeanne I enjoyed your chair story.
-
DR Vixmom the notice of a confidential food drop off was smart.
-
At different times Keith had a Costco card and instead of giving me the second one Bryan had it. I don't think Craig ever wanted it.
-
I believe those doses of Lysine gel are picking up Annabelle's health. There's been no horrific sneezing and snorting for twelve hours. And . . . she ate breakfast.
Very good news. Vibes she continues to improve.

Do you have Gatorade? I believe the electrolytes is why I didn't get sick the last time I drank Suprep. I had a bad reaction the previous time.

I don't either.

Steel cut oatmeal, fresh sliced strawberries, slivered almonds
If I like steel cut I could have purchased it. Seems Quaker old fashioned ran out first.
-
DR elmore are you safely down the ladders?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Well, this is bizarre.
But what isn't these days?
I read the notes on my iPad a while ago over a cuppa tea and a danish. Now I'm on the computer where I can type decently, and I just went to review the notes.....and for the first time in - what, weeks, for me? - the page was stuck on yesterday's notes. Refreshing the page did the trick.
-
DR JEANNE Mr Fields and Mr DeMille were both at Paramount - so congrats on your find! We need some photographic evidence.
-
Hurry up and wait.
-
Not much to report here. This afternoon I go over to the doctor's office for my (somewhat) routine blood pressure check so they can refill my prescription. I'm really due for a full physical but they didn't have time to schedule one this week, hence this quick visit.
-
Good morning!
-
DR elmore are you safely down the ladders?
No. I'm about to climb the Big Ladder. I may not deal with the kitchen until I've finished the laundry.

WELL......I made the mistake of going to WalMart this morning at about 8:15 a.m.
I needed some bananas and tomatoes....and wanted to see what else I could see....
Mostly what I saw was people behaving the way MR BK described. It was horrifying. Folks were getting at least two carts of items....stacked high.....
I got my bananas, tomatoes, and one onion. I went down the aisle and got my sister a prepared salad for when she comes to do some maintenance on myself later today.... No ground beef.....no hot dogs except for cheese dogs....so I got the bun size dogs.
I got some water.....a four pack of paper towels (only one roll at home) and a four pack of toilet tissue (which I don't use, but I thought someone in my family might be desperate.)
Lines were long at the register - and the store has recently been renovated so there weren't as many registers as there used to be....most of which were never opened anyway.
A lady said here's the self checkout. I said I never used it....and two of them said....it's easy we'll show you....
So they proceeded to ring up everything for me. It turns out that I had picked up two packages of paper towels.....and I told them i thought one was Tp. They let me keep one, then one of the ladies said we have a package of TP up here if you want it.
It had obviously been confiscated from some miscreant who tried to hoard it....so now it is mine....
I think it was the attitude of some folks that was the most scary....
THE END.
-
Dr Aronoff's office confirmed receipt of the medical clearances and my Monday arrival time of 6:30AM.
-
And now I am home.
-
So following the doctor appointment, I'm home for the weekend. Well, not that that makes me special. :) Even though we aren't (yet?) under an official "stay inside" advisory, obviously it's the smart thing to do.
It's pretty easy for me to stay contentedly at the house. I've got more than enough to do, and it even occurred to me yesterday how you don't even get cabin fever when you've got a lot of outdoor space to walk around or work in.
-
Of course, some normalcy and, you know, "jobs" (as in "paying jobs" - remember those?) would be nice, too.
-
But we're not going to see normalcy for a while.
And DR Jrand69's experience is both scary...and disgusting, people-wise. No two ways about it.
We're in decent shape here right now, but we'll certainly take inventory and see what we really need in order to get through the next few weeks...and then take care of that later as best we can.
-
The only thing I didn't find was spray disinfectant.
Went to the Dollar Tree for cookies and there was none there either.
-
Cat Clinic in Danbury has gone to total "curb service". No one may enter the jernt. When we have an appointment, we're to drive there and park outside and call them to tell them we're there. They'll come out and take the cat carrier, and if you want, you can be on the phone with the doctor and assistants while they check kitty over. And if you're just there to pick up prescription food (which I do regularly), you have to call in advance so they can have it ready and hand it to you outside the door.
I appreciate that they're taking great care to protect themselves and their patients and their patients' owners. But we are now already living in conditions none of us would have dreamed of just a month ago.
-
Laundry is finished and spread out on my bed to be put away. I will do that as soon as little Thatch tires of sleeping amongst it. I think it's the happiest part of his life. If he's happy, I'm happy.
-
So, I may lie down and join him for a while.
-
I have some picking up to do, but that can wait. Tomorrow I will vacuum the jernt and change the litter.
-
I just had my Lenox Hill Hospital call, asking if I were showing any signs of coronavirus infection, what drugs I was taking, allergies, prosthetics, etc. They've asked me to show up at 6:00AM for 8:30 surgery.

From my friend Michael Colby:
An airplane was about to crash, there were 4 famous passengers on board but only 3 parachutes left.
The first passenger said, "I'm LeBron James, the best NBA basketball player there is. My fans need me. I can't afford to die." So he took the first pack and left the plane.
The second passenger, Donald Trump said "Out of my way. I'm the President of the USA and I'm going to be the greatest and cleverest President in American history." So he quickly grabbed the pack next to him and jumped out of the plane.
The third passenger was the Pope and he turned to the fourth passenger, a Lubavitcher Rabbi and said, "I am old, frail and don't have many years left. As a good Catholic, I will sacrifice my life and let you have the last parachute."
The Rabbi turned to him and said: "Thank you but it's really OK.... there are enough parachutes for both of us. America's greatest and cleverest President has just taken my Tallis bag."

I am sorry it was so bad for you. Your attitude was probably was they gave you the TP. I have been extra nice telling the employees I feel bad for them, even when they don't have what I want.

I recall going with my mother to the market and in normal times our shopping cart would be filled. I sometimes did the same. I just hope all the goods in these very full carts were needed.

I watched the Governor of NY this morning and was impressed by his sincerity, lack of need for notes or teleprompter, and what he had to say. He caught my attention by saying this is completely his responsibility.
-
DR Vixmom I hope your boss was able to make it possible for everyone to work from home.
-
I decided to take my bike out for the first time yesterday. Normally I wouldn't take it out while the temps are in the 30s and 40s. But it was actually quite pleasant.

The people with two very full carts are the issue here and as I've said many times, I'd guess that they've been back daily to do that. I'd further guess that many of them are doing it for resale in mom and pop stores, gas station mini-marts, etc. but the fact is people are hoarding.
-
I'm up, I'm up - a little over eight hours of sleep.
-
I just ordered contacts and had to pay for them to be shipped directly to me. As we were talking the official order came in for all optometrist offices to shut down.
-
I hope the contacts actually get shipped. Sometimes this brand is on back order.
-
If my glasses weren't so old & scratched I wouldn't bother with contacts.
-
Heard from the guy overseeing my book. The designer JUST looked at the revised cover files we sent him over a WEEK ago and said they're fine. They're all nuts over there like everyone else, and of course had to move everyone to working at home. Apologies and assurances I'd see something soon. But whether they'll print when sent to the printers is an entirely other story.
-
Experiment three has been delivered and I guess I'll go pick it up now and hopefully there'll be an important envelope, too.
-
Important envelope vibes for MR BK.
-
Getting the contacts vibes for DR JANE.
-
I forgot my ice cream sandwiches.....
But I also forgot to mention.....the vodka....I got a bottle of vodka....
-
Important envelope vibes for MR BK.
Ditto!
-
Getting the contacts vibes for DR JANE.
Thanks. If they don't come it won't be the worse thing that has happened due to COVID-19
-
Experiment three is in the home environment and important envelope has been picked up and banking has been done (at ATM).
-
I must say that for a city where there is an edict to stay home save for essential drives, there are a LOT of cars out - I took the freeway (two stops) to the mail place - saves the red lights) and not one car was actually getting off anywhere so where are all these cars going or coming from that is essential that's not actually in their neighborhood. Riddle me that.

Illinois has gone to lockdown mode.

Eating some of experiment three and so far so good.

Hello, everyone.
-
I just had my Lenox Hill Hospital call, asking if I were showing any signs of coronavirus infection, what drugs I was taking, allergies, prosthetics, etc. They've asked me to show up at 6:00AM for 8:30 surgery.
Do you have a thermometer?
I have an electronic thermometer and when I used it early this week (just to see), it said that my temperature was 97.2°! I thought it might be the battery, so I bought a new one and then my temp was down to 96.4°! :o I put the old battery back in and will save the new battery.
-
Hello, Jeanne!
-
My salad bar/soup bar/ sandwich bar/juice bar has closed. Indefinitely. I can't say I'm surprised, but I am truly saddened. I could buy "homemade" soups and salads, falafels, and fresh fruit and produce in small quantities. To made those myself would require not only a lot of time and effort, but there'd be a lot of waste. I shall now have to shop more at Whole Foods, which offers a considerably smaller selection and is mobbed most of the time. That's assuming they have what I need on the shelves.
-
Hi, George.

I don't know what a Tallis bag is, but I stil found this quite funny.

I'm glad to see that Larry's surgery plans are proceeding accordingly.
Vibes for smooth sailing!
Do you know how long you'll be in the hospital?
-
Glad BK is getting the food he desires.

I believe those doses of Lysine gel are picking up Annabelle's health. There's been no horrific sneezing and snorting for twelve hours. And . . . she ate breakfast.
I'm glad Annabelle is doing better. Lysine is very effective for herpes, but I've never heard of the gel or of vets using it. It's been many years since I've had cats, though. Did the vet tell you about the gel?
-
There's an article in the NYTimes from a doctor, saying that officials are overdoing it while trying to protect us. He favors a more targeted approach. I agree heartily. For instance, people need to get outside. We all need fresh air. We're not putting others at risk -- or ourselves -- by doing so. We can still distance. I also think that closing medical offices is a mistake. If we knew that it would only be for two weeks, we could work around it. But no one knows that. My dentist closed his office in accord with ADA recommendations. Dental personnel are masked and gloved anyway; they're protected. In some cases these closures are putting the very population that is already at risk at even greater risk.
-
As for the homeless shelter, that's criminal. I know that the churches and others are following government guidelines for distancing, but the homeless are vulnerable to start with and putting them back on the street will make them even more vulnerable, and will create a greater risk for the society at large.
-
I can't believe we can't find better ways to deal with these problems.
-
The Louis Vuitton company announced last week that they would make hand sanitizer instead of perfume. You'd think this would be a no-brainer. There's so much demand right now for hand sanitizer.
-
I'm hoping someone will devise a way to make low-cost ventilators. 3-D printing perhaps? There's so much more we could do to create better health care. Apple's doing a lot of research in this area.
-
And that's my rant for the day. Although I reserve the right to rant further as circumstances dictate.
-
Bruce should be happy with all those posts.

TTFN.

New York State now has 7100 confirmed cases and 5000 of those are in the City.

I would say experiment three is an unqualified success in most ways.

Excellent.
-
Well, I've done what I want to do here at work, so I'm going to leave. On Fridays, I usually go to Eagan's. Their drive-thru is still open, so I'll at least get my regular Deluxe Cheeseburger. AND I have a coupon for free fries or tater tots, so I'll indulge in the tots for free! ;D
Until later!

But before I go...
I'm at work and actually working. As far as I know, there's only one other person here and we're both fine and far away from each other. I'll stay as long as I can, but if I have to leave when she leaves, I guess I will (she's in a much higher position of authority and can make me leave ::) ).

Throughout the day your temp can change. I am frustrated Craig won't get a thermometer. We have an ear one for quick temps and an old fashioned one for acuracy.

It is sunny & 64 degrees right now. Our walking path was very busy. When we stopped to chat with people we kept our distance.

No. Since it's a French company I expect they will try to supply France first. I don't know if any will get to us, but I've since heard of some US distilleries who are talking about doing the same. We may soon find perfume-scented hand sanitizer and whiskey-laced hand sanitizer. ;)

No. My office is not set up for us to work from home
But your boss was working on it. I had thought he might have accomplished it. What now? Does everything just stop?

Indiana has moved its primary from May to June.
-
I am exhausted. I wonder if I'll make it past the W.C. Fields' flick, The Old Fashioned Way, that I'm watching. This one is sweet. Fields is the manager of the theatrical troupe touring with The Drunkard. It has a couple of pleasant Mack Gordon-Harry Revel songs.

Smart move.
-
I'm glad I saw The Last Ship when I did. San Francisco has canceled the rest of the run.
-
T'ain't a fit night out for man nor beast.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Six!
-
Hi, jan!
Hi, Jane!
-
Initially, the libraries were supposed to stay closed through Sunday. I don't think they're opening again any time soon.
-
There's a scene in this movie where Fields does his juggling routine from his vaudeville days. It was hilarious.
-
I'm going to start the miniseries of Empire Falls. I loved the book, and the cast is certainly great: Ed Harris, Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Robin Wright Penn, Helen Hunt, Dennis Farina, Estelle Parsons, Theresa Russell, Kate Burton, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Aidan Quinn, Larry Pine.
-
Pixar's new movie, Onward, is going to to on-demand viewing for $19.99. Didn't want to see it in the theater, so I doubt I'll pay double to see it at home.
Emma., the movie with the weird period in the title, is also apparently available for on-demand streaming.
Strange.
-
Lives are like rivers. Eventually they go where they must, not where we want them to.
Great line from Empire Falls.
-
What is Onward - if it's another female empowerment movie, a pass.
-
Watching a motion picture.
-
Eating a pickle, although I'm still very full from my earlier meal, which is a bit surprising.
-

Pixar does death.
-
And on that cheery note ...
-
Good night, all.

Finished with my viewing.

Haven't we been on page six like foreEVER?
-
ForEVER and a day.

Had some sweet treats.
-
I feel like I've eaten a ton of food, but the reality is two sandwiches, some mini-potato pancakes, and the sweet treats.
-
I just looked at Sambucol on Amazon - for the past two years when purchasing on Amazon, the boxes were 9.99 each and I bought five at a time. I have four boxes left so was looking to stock up again. Well, only third-party sellers who are now GOUGING - cheapest price is 34 bucks. I'm going to report each and every seller who is doing this.

BK’s complaint about the two overflowing grocery carts is the same one that I have the week before Thanksgiving. All these shoppers with two carts full to the brim. Don’t they cook any other time of the year? How can they possibly need every single thing needed for their big meal? I don’t get it.
-
Kenny Rogers has died.
-
My glaucoma doctor’s (the hunk) office called and cancelled my appointment next week.
-
There's an article in the NYTimes from a doctor, saying that officials are overdoing it while trying to protect us.
The article I read today (or was it yesterday) said that the very fact that dentists wear masks and gloves, is one of the main reason they request that dental procedures, except emergencies, be cancelled. They believe that those very masks and gloves may be needed for the doctors treating the pandemic.

I really liked it. I saw it in 3-D and didn't pay that much, though.

Bruce should be happy with all those posts.
Are you kidding? Bruce has probably written Trump and ask that he make this sheltering in place a permanent law. Just check the last week of posts.

No, it's a brothers-go-on-a-quest/adventure-to-bring-their-dad-back-from-the-dead-for-just-one-day-and-end-up-becoming-closer movie. :)

Kenny Rogers has died.
Oh, no. :(

Throughout the day your temp can change. I am frustrated Craig won't get a thermometer. We have an ear one for quick temps and an old fashioned one for acuracy.
I can’t find one anywhere. Every place is sold-out!

I can’t skeep

So stressed out

I’ve lost over a third of my life savings from IRA, not that there was that much there in the first place...

Never mind...

Going to try and sleep

Apply IMMEDIATELY online for unemployment benefits. Many states, like Washington, are even eliminating the one-week waiting period.
-
The glaucoma doctor was the one bit of excitement I had on my schedule for next week. Even though this was going to be my annual field of vision test, which I absolutely hate.
-
Oh, of course the other bright spot to look forward to is the stimulant check the first part of April.

That is tragic!

Wow! The weekly unemployment maximum amount is almost $200.00 a month higher in Washington State compared to New York!
-
The maximum weekly benefit in New York is $504.00. The maximum in Washington is $790.00.
