Well, you've read the notes, the notes were cynical, and now it is time for you to post until the cynical cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LAMPOON!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Last night after coming home from my parents' house, I started to clean up a little bit in my living room. Just to go through a pile of papers on the sideboard/buffet at the entrance to my house took almost an hour. Obviously, it's been quite a while since I'd gone through any of that stuff. I found a couple of receipts and coupons from 2018! :o
;)
-
Today, I might go through all the crap that's on my dining table. That might not take as long because it's just a bunch a big stuff, not little receipts and things where I need to look at every little thing...hopefully. We'll see.
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Read a bit more. I continue to be amazed that a professionally published book can be riddled with such sloppy writing and detail, from simple name misspellings to incomprehensible sentences. It's throughout - in an early chapter he calls Sandy Bressler, "Bressler" without an introduction and names him as Nicholson's lawyer. Later in the book we get Sandy Bressler and the correct profession - Jack's AGENT (and at one point mine - not Bressler personally - but Bressler, Wolf, Cota, and Livingston, my favorite of all the agencies I was with.
-
DR TCB you have a kind vet to spend 2 hours talking to you. Are the offices open for pets? I still follow our old office in Ashland. They are open for animals, however, not their people. Only staff are permitted inside.
I imagine this is extra stressful for you with Nicky's medical issues and age.
-
The small coastal town of Warrenton in Oregon was overrun with tourists this weekend. Yesterday the short term tourists were given 24 hours to leave.
Other towns along the coast of Oregon & Washington were having similar problems and were talking about doing the same.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I feel I am rushing about with no head trying to accomplish all that I would like by 8:00 when the surgery prep begins.
-
And a very happy 90th birthday to Stephen Sondheim!
-
I managed to get the big things done: clean the cats' dishes, change the litter, replace the litter box and take the old one to the basement and wash it out. I've taken the first bottle of Surprep, and the process has begun.
-
DR Jane, I will hopefully take a taxi to hospital. I hope I can find one cruising Amsterdam Avenue at 5:30AM.
-
I didn't know if they were still doing business as usual.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Prep Day vibes for DR Elmore!
-
On Sunday mornings back in the day, which for me was during the late 70s, I’d be tuning in to Brian Clewer’s show CYNIC’S CHOICE on KFAC-FM.
-
So I might listen to some vintage British CYNICAL comedy while puttering around today.
I will for sure be listening to some 90th birthday Sondheim.
-
I will for absolutely positive sure listen to UNSUNG SONDHEIM.
Along with a few other cherce goodies.
-
CYNIC’S CHERCE.
-
Of course I loved the National LAMPOON.

#MeToo, DR Jrand69.

Last night, we rented 2 movies from Redbox:
1. RICHARD JEWELL, a Clint Eastwood-directed film that we liked very much.
2. UNCUT GEMS, with Adam Sandler, which we didn't. Sandler was excellent, but there was nobody in the slow-moving film to "root for".

At 9:50 this morning, Dr Glickman, the urologist who was going to remove the tumor from my kidney, phoned to say that he and Dr Aronoff had decided to postpone the surgery for 4 weeks or so.
I wish he'd called before the first round of Surprep!
-
Just shoot me now.....I thought it was Monday and rolled the trash bin down to the street.
Now the neighborhood knows I've lost it......

Oy! Incredible!
What about the appendix thing? Was that being taken care of tomorrow, too, or was that to be two separate procedures?

They were performing the surgery together.

Nice to have some breakfast. I was starving.
-
Sunday morning greetings! Richard and I have attended 2 services this morning. First, via Zoom, we went to Morning Prayer at Christ the King in Dayton (where he usually goes). As soon as that was over, we traveled from his desk to mine to attend our niece Rev. Amy's service at First United Methodist Church in Springboro via Facebook Live.
-
I am both sorry and relieved to hear about the delay, Elmore. I know you want to get it dealt with right away and wish it could be so, but I must admit I was very apprehensive about you being in the hospital while all this stuff is going on

DR Elmore, that's what I was afraid was going to happen! Is there an antidote?

The BJs sent out an email that starting today they would have special shopping hours for those 60 + from 8-9 this morning
-
My mom wanted some bread and English muffins as well as some bagged oranges that were on sale at the local supermarket
-
I wanted bread and orange juice
-
I set the alarm for 7 but I fell back asleep for a while so it was 8:30 when I arrived at BJs
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sorry about the surgery, Elmore.
-
I was disheartened to see a full parking lot and a line stretching all along the building and was just about to leave when I noticed a grey haired gent entering a different door than the one where the line formed.
-
It turns out the line was for the younguns
-
I strolled in the other door, was able to not only get all the bread items for Mom and me but the deli was open and I was able to get a pound of ham
-
I also wanted a chicken but they were still cooking
-
And I got the oj as well
-
Then l went to the supermarket and got my mom the bagged oranges she wanted and a half gallon of skim milk for us.
-
The chicken area only had legs and thighs and a notice that only 1 package was allowed per person
-
I saw the butchers working in the back and asked if there was any chance I could get a single package with 4 breasts in it
-
Usually you get 4 small breasts in the packages.
-
The butcher was someone who has been there for years and I’ve been shopping there since I was a cashier there in high school so he recognized me and said to just give him a minute
-
He ended up handing me a package with 4 full double breasts in it, way more than I wanted but I thanked him profusely and bought it
-
I will slice them up and freeze them, there’s enough for the next several weeks
-
I drove by my moms and left her groceries on the freezer in her garage , then moved back to the garage door as she entered from her house
-
Her house has an adjoining door to her garage
-
The bread at BJs are all double packs so she haS 2 loves if bread and two packages of English muffins . She tried to give me one of each but I told her to freeze the extras so that she has enough in case I can’t get her more next week
-
I’m nervous about getting too close to her in case I’m carrying any of these corona germs , she’ll be 88 this year
-
I was back home, put away the groceries and made a cup of coffee then settled in for church via IPad
-
It was nice to “see” so many showed up and to interact via comments
-
Bummer DR ELMORE.
-
Nice story DR VIXMOM.
-
The church office was open all last week but effective as of Friday afternoon all staff will be working from home

-
Pastor did go into the church to conduct the service via live feed but he was alone.
-
Well time for me to have some breakfast
-
Stay well my friends
-
You know, my biggest fear about tomorrow morning was that I wouldn't find a taxi at 5:30AM, and the worst part of today was that I had already been through one round of the Surprep and was just about to begin the second.
-
I was so relieved that I could eat breakfast that I had a fried egg sandwich and a glass of apple juice. I may spend the rest of the day napping with Thatch and Stella.
-
I slept rather poorly last night. Too many concerns and worries.
-
Happy birthday, Stephen Sondheim!
-
Happy birthday, Andrew Lloyd Webber!

I'd gotten this from Rick Pappas, who is the lawyer for Stephen Sondheim.
From: Rick Pappas <pappasesq@earthlink.net>
To: Fred Landau <fjl1960@aol.com>
Sent: Mon, Feb 10, 2020 3:58 pm
Dear Mr. Landau,
Apologies for not having responded to your emails sooner than today.
I did not have anything to do with any ‘copyright claim slapped on’ to your posts. Those would have come directly from the music publishers, who routinely police infringements of Mr. Sondheim’s works online.
I am unaware of any pre-approvals given to earlier videos by Sean Flahaven (who hasn’t worked at WarnerChappell for over two years) or Arminda Trevino (who also left two years ago) at Carlin America (which no longer exists). I can only say that none were ever presented to me by either company during the past 11 years that I have been involved in Mr. Sondheim’s matters, and they would have been submitted for authorization by both publishers in the ordinary course of events.
(and it goes on). but he is saying that I can't be right about ever dealing with Sean (who handled after "Follies") or Arminda Trevino (who handled "Company" and "Follies")
-
But as I see, there is new Warner Chappell rep (Kurt Deutsch had around 2017 or so replaced Sean Patrick Flahaven, who knew me well in a very positive light, even knew "Last Starfighter," from the period where all was riding very high for me and the LLC, before the inexplicable Jack stuff happened May 2013).
and it seems that under this rep, or maybe his staff, copyright claims it seems even though there was prior approval, and I guess he did not know there had been prior approval back in 2009 or 2010...
-
and in any case, if it were known to the copyright holder or publisher that they knew about the new lyrics, the statute of limitations since 2009 or 2010 would be. long past. It does not start over when the employee of Warner Chappell changes, of course, even if they have a different philosophy
-
Once you have to start proving things, it's no-win, of course. it has taken on a "Show me you're right" request from someone who would rather you not be right. (in this case, Rick Pappas)
-
But I did have this email from Mr. Sondheim
From: Stephen Sondheim
To: FJL1960

Dear Fred Landau -
My apologies for not having replied sooner, but I've been away. Anyhow, I think your parody is fizzy and funny and fine (except for the "prefer/defer" identity), so you have my permission to use it on YouTube, but first you have to get permission from John Breglio. I'm sending him a copy of this reply. If you haven't heard back form him within a week, let me know.

Hi Fred,
Ah—I thought your name looked familiar. The different context and my sleep deprivation (our second son was born May 7; we also have a 2-year-old) made me forget temporarily.
Alli and I love Bill and Maureen, of course, and I do remember LAST STARFIGHTER.
I’ll try to get this done quickly.
Best,
Sean
-
so Rick Pappas was demonstrably incorrect. And of course, no one ever likes being shows they made.a mistake..
-
and this from Mr. Sondheim showed totally that even at Nov. 2012, just months before the strange stuff that Jack did in May 2013
From: Stephen Sondheim
To: Fred Landau
Sent: Thu, Nov 8, 2012 10:55 pm
Dear Fred Landau -
The person you should ask permission of is Sean Patrick Flahaven at Warner/Chappell. His email is, not surprisingly, seanpatrick.flahaven@warnerchappell.com.
Your lyric is fun, although you had the same trouble with the last stanza that I did.
Yours,
Stephen Sondheim
my reputation was really very good. None of the stuff that Jack lied about starting in May 2013 (and still going on during Call Me Madam in January 2019) remotely existed. He'd made up a different Fred Landau and somehow Joann Landau had gotten involved then!!!
-
but it's no-win since showing someone who took such a strong dismissive stand doesn't improve their resistance to ever being helpful.
Yet you HAVE to prove they're wrong so they don't take action to remove your work online.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight and a half hours of sleep.
-
Sorry about the surgery, elmore.

Strong Sexual Content.....that's the warning on tonight's OUTLANDER episode.
I watched it ON Demand......their standards are decidedly different than mine..... 8)

DR Vixmom had a productive shopping day.
-
We drove over to Safeway and found almost everything we wanted. Usually we prefer Fred Meyer though Safeway does have items we can't get elsewhere. They didn't have the macadamia nuts I like or coffee ice cream. They had plenty of chocolate chips. I was able to get the eggs I like. We didn't need milk, bread or paper goods. I only know the paper isle was empty as was the hand soap.
-
You know, my biggest fear about tomorrow morning was that I wouldn't find a taxi at 5:30AM, and the worst part of today was that I had already been through one round of the Surprep and was just about to begin the second.
I was about to wish you finding a taxi vibes when I saw it was cancelled. I was very concerned about that.

Good morning. Or afternoon. It's hard to tell any more.

I'm honestly glad your surgery was postponed, Elmore. I was worried about you being in a hospital.
-
Other than being in my car (taking my daughter to work), I have not been off my property for a week. I have been in the yard, but that's it.
-
Rand Paul and Placido Domingo now have the virus.
-
Just placed another Gelson's Instacart but to deliver here directly - will come Friday - not a big order, just a new jar of Noxema (not something folks are hoarding) and hopefully some tuna (which people ARE hoarding), a couple of other minor items that should be in stock.
-
We just had a nice video chat, via Facebook Messenger, with Rob and Mary Linda. We even had a tour of their new house.

Doctor Oz was recommending on Tv last light, if you're living with someone so you're both always touching the same stuff anyway, that sex is a very good thing to do
I wondered if he was going to add "since you're doomed anyway," but I think he meant it.
-
Larry, it's likely great for your health overall that it was postponed.
-
Is there any reason when you have early surgery you can't (maybe because of age or whatnot) have support that you need to be there from the night before, rather than being out looking for a cab at 5 am?
-
LOL DR FJL....yes.....that is always my response to DR OZ....wth....
-
Lucy's MAME is coming on TCM in 12 minutes.....I think I will watch it again.....
-
I completely forgot that a person from church asked me yesterday to make a cake for their gathering (?!) tonight. Luckily, I have a bunch of cake mixes in the cupboard.
-
This is a professional person, who, apparently, can't make a cake from a mix.
-
Yes, I make cakes from mixes. I have no pride.
-
It is in the oven, and the powered sugar and cocoa powder are all sifted in a bowl, ready to make a glaze.
-
So, since I've been home all day, here is the exciting news from my street:
1. Passersby on their bikes like my wildflower yard.
2. One neighbor was arguing on the phone with his father that this whole virus is a hoax.
3. A neighbor was trying to dig a tree stump out of his yard and hit the water line.
4. A couple of kids were apparently fishing in the canal. I don't know if they caught anything.
Exciting, this quarantine thing.
-
Finished the Chinatown book - at the end he thanks his editor twice, but apparently the editor's job was not correcting numerous name misspellings, numerous incomprehensible sentences that I'm sure happened when the author revised but no one caught, and just a lot of sloppy writing. I can't remember much about the Fosse book - is it, too, like this one?

I finished the Fosse book so long ago I have next to no memory of it now.

A couple quarantined on the Princess Diamond were separated off the ship. He went to a hospital with the virus & pneumonia, she flew home to a government quarantine facility and never got sick. Neither had pre-existing medical issues. He did recover. from the virus but still had pneumonia though he was better.
-
Of course I never saw a follow-up story to know how he was doing & if they are finally reunited.

it looks like we sent them 3 copies, just really so it would show up on their site, but why were they charging close to $10?

It's still $5.99 Amazon. Why would Walmart charge more?

Gee, BK, and I thought I was being amusing, as usual. Perhaps we all need to use smiley faces, so that no one can misunderstand our posts. 😜

The oak pollen is so heavy here that walking in it would be too nasty to consider.

Martin Gottfried's Fosse bio was the one where tall, gorgeous black dancer Thelma Oliver was called Thelma Ritter, who was anything but.

All of BK's posts about food made me salivate for a very nice meal. There's a little Indian restaurant in Brentwood that I sometimes order from, so I went to their website. They've changed the software and it's buggy. I phoned and placed the order the old-fashioned way, but the woman got my address wrong--3 blocks off. The driver called, though, and I now have my food.

I am sorry it is so hard on you. We had hundreds of oak trees in Ashland. Even Sherlock was allergic to them.

Normally we pick up the food. We should think about having it delivered.

Watching Pasolini's version of The Canterbury tales. It has its moments, but overall, I'm finding the movie boring. The pacing is all over the place. Too much Pasolini and not enough Chaucer. Plus, the badly dubbed Italian is irritating and too loud.

I learned a new word today.
Covidiot: Noun
"A stupid person who stubbornly ignores social distancing
A stupid person who hoards goods, denying them from their neighbors & spreading covid-19 fears.

India's Tandoori. Apparently, there are two restaurants in LA with that name or very similar. Make sure it's the Brentwood location (Wilshire Blvd).
-
Larry, so sorry about your surgery being postponed. I know what it's like to anticipate and plan and do for weeks to prepare, and then it has to all be done over again.
Rest and relax. Covid-19 is enough to worry about.

Some of you may have seen the article last Friday in the NY Times By David Katz, MD. He feels the US (and others) is taking too general of an approach to the pandemic. Today, Tom Friedman echoed Dr Katz's opinion. I am also of that view. We are wrecking the economy and lots of financial lives, too. Be safe, yes -- more cleaning, distancing -- but some of the restrictions here make no sense to me. No more drive-in theatres, for instance. There aren't many left, to start with, but how could that speed the spread? Like Dr Katz, I feel we need a targeted approach.

Glad you got your food.
thanks. Me, too. Particularly after BK's stories.
-
George, I've been meaning to ask you how your sister's haircut went. Are the two of you still speaking?
-
I learned a new word today.
Covidiot: Noun
"A stupid person who stubbornly ignores social distancing
A stupid person who hoards goods, denying them from their neighbors & spreading covid-19 fears.
There was a herd of covidiots at the donut place I went to earlier today. When I walked in the door, I was the only customer in the place. I heard the door open, but it wasn't until I turned around that I saw 15 or so people had jammed into the place behind me.
-
A Very Happy Birthday to both Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber!! :D
-
All of BK's posts about food made me salivate for a very nice meal. There's a little Indian restaurant in Brentwood that I sometimes order from, so I went to their website. They've changed the software and it's buggy. I phoned and placed the order the old-fashioned way, but the woman got my address wrong--3 blocks off. The driver called, though, and I now have my food.
BBL.
What is the name of the restaurant? We order food to go when we have family dinners at my brother's.
India's Tandoori. Apparently, there are two restaurants in LA with that name or very similar. Make sure it's the Brentwood location (Wilshire Blvd).
Thanks. I found it. Of course who knows when we will go to LA again.
-
At 9:50 this morning, Dr Glickman, the urologist who was going to remove the tumor from my kidney, phoned to say that he and Dr Aronoff had decided to postpone the surgery for 4 weeks or so.
I wish he'd called before the first round of Surprep!
:o AARRGGH!! That's too bad, Larry. Hopefully, it won't get postponed again the next time.
-
I strolled in the other door, was able to not only get all the bread items for Mom and me but the deli was open and I was able to get a pound of ham
That's great, Vixmom!
-
He ended up handing me a package with 4 full double breasts in it, way more than I wanted but I thanked him profusely and bought it
Nice!

PAGE SIX DANCE!! ;D

Strong Sexual Content.....that's the warning on tonight's OUTLANDER episode.
I watched it ON Demand......their standard are decidedly different than mine.....
Doctor Oz was recommending on Tv last light, if you're living with someone so you're both always touching the same stuff anyway, that sex is a very good thing to do
I wondered if he was going to add "since you're doomed anyway," but I think he meant it.
:))
-
George, I've been meaning to ask you how your sister's haircut went. Are the two of you still speaking?
Actually, I haven't gone over to do it, yet. She hasn't asked again, so I'll wait until she does.

I thought drive-in theaters were a good alternative to indoor theaters, just leave the snack stand closed or have it delivered to the car.

Nice short interview with Ennio Morricone about the music used in the Pasolini trilogy.
-
But i have no interest today in watching all the other extras on this disc. And I may wait before watching The Decameron and Arabian Nights.
-
Raining now.

Finished watching Chinatown. Brilliant. New 4K transfer. In comparing it to the Blu-ray, which I wasn't thrilled with in terms of detail, this new transfer is, at least on the computer screen, perhaps a bit yellower than the Blu-ray but it's very minor and mostly affects the blue, which should be a bit bluer than it is. Nitpicking to be sure. One does wonder if Mr. Wasson actually watched the picture. In one of the book's anecdotes, it's said that James Hong's butler character had no name in the script and the Dunaway asked him what he thinks would be a good name. He purportedly said "Hahn" - close to his own name. Even if the anecdote came from Mr. Hong himself, it's not brain surgery to watch the film where he is clearly called Khan.
-
:) smiley faces it is.
-
I somehow missed Spike Lee's World War II film, Miracle at St. Anna, when it was released back in 2008. I've started watching it. The war scenes are as devastating as any I've seen on film. I don't know that I can take much more of this tonight. But it's a fine beginning.
-
I think I'm going to be lazy for a while.
-
Just placed another Gelson's Instacart but to deliver here directly - will come Friday - not a big order, just a new jar of Noxema (not something folks are hoarding) and hopefully some tuna (which people ARE hoarding), a couple of other minor items that should be in stock.
I haven’t seen a jar of Noxema in ages, I didn’t know it was still being made. Does it still come in a blue glass jar?
-
I took a nice nap this afternoons
-
Dinner was some more of the chili over Spanish rice with cheese , salsa and sour cream garnish
-
Vixdad also had diced grape tomatoes on his
-
Then we had tea
-
I also had a nice phone conversation with one of my former coworkers

Plastic jar now, but still blue.

Not much of an opera person, but listening to a beauty now by a French composer I really like, whose music I discovered in the early days of CD when I was buying anything that sounded interesting. This is called Polypheme and is by Jean Cras. It got a beauty of a recording a while back but I grabbed the whole thing on You Tube.
-
The Katz's kishka is superb.
-
I've eaten a lot of small things today - eggs and toast, kishka, a few cashews and peanuts, an ounce of string cheese, a few crackers.
-
Tomorrow may be a pasta day - perhaps spaghetti with red sauce and some sautéed onion.
-
This afternoon, I decided to go to Subway because I had a coupon where any large sandwich was only $5.99! So, I take a shower, get dressed, get in my card, drive to Subway, order my sandwich (Subway Melt on Italian Herb and Cheese with pepperjack cheese). It's at THIS point that I realize that I DON'T HAVE MY WALLET!! :o
NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I did a drive. Went by Gelson's at six - pretty empty parking lot and no lines - don't know what was left, but I thought that was heartening.
-
Perhaps if everyone finally calms down, things will get back to normal, shopping-wise.
-
I PROFUSELY apologize to the woman who just made my sandwich that I only live on the other side of the freeway and I'll be right back. I promise!
-
I RUSHED home and COULD NOT FIND MY WALLET!! I looked all over my house and was thinking about getting quarters out of my change jar or calling my sister to borrow money or her debit card, but when I got back in my car, I found my wallet in my car under a piece of paper and realized that I left my wallet there last night! WHEW!! I rushed back to the Subway, apologized profusely again and paid and left a 20% tip. ;D
-
I thoroughly enjoyed half of my sandwich for my lunch. The other half will be enjoyed as I eat it for my dinner very shortly.
-
But first...

There's got to be a joke there somewhere. I'll send a search party out for it.

The Telegraph in England is reporting Harvey Weinstein has the coronavirus. I haven’t seen anything in the American media.

I actually have seen these articles, not a one of which (I believe they all picked it up from the same source) has an actual confirmation - they all say no one has actually confirmed it. Maybe he does, but I'd wait for an official confirmation.
-
I haven't wanted to go to Subway, even though I really like it. The reason is that the food is out in the open, unless they're covering it. George, were they?

What is this this sven malarky. The Swedish seven?

The Swedish Seven - I think that was a movie.

If I didn't have some willpower I would eat everything that's in the house right now, which is why I don't like to have food here. But I've been pretty good about it.

I have Cheetos in the cupboard but I shan't cheat with the Cheetos.

Finished the first two acts of the opera - two to go, about another forty minutes, but listening to other stuff right now.

I have seen it. I tried it once years and years ago. It burned my face and I never used it again.

I also had a nice phone conversation with one of my former coworkers
I gather she too us not working.

I had a handful of white Cheetos today.

I haven't wanted to go to Subway, even though I really like it. The reason is that the food is out in the open, unless they're covering it. George, were they?
For the most part. They have big lids that fold down and cover the whole section of food when it's not being used. When it's up and open for the servers, it becomes a sneeze guard for the customers.

My mom used to use it year ago. I always liked the smell. :)

I never knew what Noxema was for. I still don't, actually. ::)
-
I had a handful of white Cheetos today.
I have a few bags of the Hippeas (http://hippeas.com/) Pepper Power flavor. I really like these. It's strange, but they don't show them on their website. What's that all about?
-
Noxema is a facial cleanser - I don't use it for that - it's the only thing that calms my skin down after I shave - otherwise I'm red as a beet.

Shouldn't we be on page sventeen by now?

DR TCB you have a kind vet to spend 2 hours talking to you. Are the offices open for pets? I still follow our old office in Ashland. They are open for animals, however, not their people. Only staff are permitted inside.
I imagine this is extra stressful for you with Nicky's medical issues and age.
Trust me, the vet was not with me for the entire time. A lot of time was taken running blood work on Nicky. Also, they took Nicky back to inject fluids (water?) under his skin. I think there was another time when they cleaned up the vomit on him, or maybe to remove the three different bandages (on three separate paws) from where they tried to get blood.
-
Drive-in theatres? Seriously? I think there may only two in the entire state of Washington.

A Subway Melt has turkey, ham and bacon (just a bit redundant, though ;) ) and it gets toasted and the cheese is all melty. As for the card, it was a flashback from my years at Vixmom's School of Typing. ::)
;D

My sister bought some from a co-worker's daughter (actually, her co-worker selling for her daughter) and bought two boxes of every kind!

The other day several members were mentioning Amy’s Kitchens frozen foods. I refused to try any of their products, because I heard they were good for you.

Nope. I can actually remember watching it when I was a wee sprig of lad.

Umm...there wasn't much in the world before you were born! :))

The other day at Rite Aid I was picking up a prescription. I gave her my last name and then my birthday 8-23-50. She seemed to be having trouble finding it, so I said, “By the way, that is 1950, not 1850.” She laughed, which I think was exactly what she needed.

Really! Just imagine what there was when BK was born.
-
I’m listening to Patti LuPone singing “I Dreamed A Day” from the original London cast recording of LE MIZ. Actually I like her version best, because it was before she started to sing everything in that affected way.
-
Good night, George. And for BK, 😃
-
I’m listening to Patti LuPone singing “I Dreamed A Day” from the original London cast recording of LE MIZ. Actually I like her version best, because it was before she started to sing everything in that affected way.
A friend of mine had actually seen that original London production in London when Patti was still in the show. He didn't know who she was at the time, and didn't learn about "Patti LuPone" until years later, and THEN he made the connection and realized that he had seen her in the show.
