Well, you've read the notes, the notes were bad and felt good, and now it is time for you to post until the what's so bad about feeling good cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: VANILLA!
-
Topic of the Day: a DVD of The Big Lebowski that I borrowed from a co-worker several months ago ::) that I really need to watch so that I can return it to him. We're both going to be at work next week (if not at the same time), but I can bring it and leave it for him.
-
Yesterday during my Teams meeting for work, someone (who doesn't drive) mentioned that he had a couple of personal packages at work. Since I'm going in today, and he lives on the west side of Olympia which is only about 4 miles away, I said that I could bring them to him...so I will.
-
After work and the delivery, I'm going to my sister's house because today is her daughter's birthday! My niece turns 36 years old!
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept well, but I remember next to nothing of last night's dreams.
-
DR JRand69, your police funeral made the CBS News last night.
-
I have no other news at the moment.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’m tired. I’m glad it’s Friday.
-
Yesterday, we watched ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT with Humphrey Bogart, as well as CHICAGO MED and CHICAGO FIRE.
We'll watch CHICAGO P.D. today.
I don't know what we'd do if I didn't have 4000+ DVDs to choose from.
-
Now, back to writing my play.
-
This will be the 28th play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Ah, Friday.
Which makes, of course, little difference to the likes of moi, but I shall duly and happily note it anyway.
-
TOD:
I’ve got the Soviet production of War and Peace, and I’m thinking of watching all 9 hours of it. I first saw it 39 years ago On the big screen and was riveted. That was a few years before I read and loved the novel.
-
TOD
I cleaned off a table last night and found that I'd taken out UNSUNG SONDHEIM which, somewhat embarrassingly, was still sitting there waiting for me. So today's going to be an UNSUNG SONDHEIM kind of day.
In the movie department, I have HOTEL out and ready to spin, and I think tonight's the night for it.
-
Friday. I decided I would get out this morning and drive around a bit since I hadn't turned the crank on the motor car for about ten days.
It started right up and as I drove, I figured I would go to the town square and survey the storm damage for myself....and while I was out that I would get some stamps.
As I drove up Main Street, I realized that I couldn't go to the Post Office because I hadn't put on my mask.....and as I drove further i was stopped by a school bus parked completely across the street.
It seems that the downtown cleanup is still going on.
-
I also saw that gasoline is now $1.36 per gallon and I didn't need any.
-
Didn't the Vikings aspire to spend eternity in VANILLA?
-
Didn't VANILLA also get busted for lip-synching?
-
I remember seeing newspapers ads for What's So Bad About Feeling Good? and then a couple of years later seeing a bit of it on the NBC Saturday/Monday/Tuesday Night At the Movies.....
I was embarrassed for MTM being dressed like a teenager in miniskirts and LONG hair.....
-
Looking at photos from the film on the webs, it seems at one point she cuts her hair and has a baby.....I never got that far in the movie.....

-
I am still unstimulated - government wise - I am not best pleased.
-
I like this lobby card more.

-
MTM looks rather apprehensive about entire toucan enterprise....
-
I don't remember the What's So Bad About... movie at all.
I do recall there being a movie called Jigsaw, but, omigod, it was a remake of Mirage?? Apparently I had no knowledge of that. What in the HELL were they thinking?
-
But that lobby card does make it look kind of familiar.
-
DR JohnG.'s DVD is in the good capable hands of Mr. Postman as we speak. Whether he will knock twice is unknown at this time.
And now that I'm operational again (well, somewhat), I need to make a couple of other things for people and get them sent out as well.
It is good to be operational.
-
Thanks DR ELMORE - I saw that on the CBS Evening News.....I used to watch it regularly, but now I'm kind of shopping around for a new evening news.....I am not impressed by any of the regular readers.....
-
I am home from the Big Supermarket. I do love shopping there. I did not get to the bank, so that's tomorrow's errand.
-
Why do I keep thinking Jigsaw is about a serial killer?
-
DR TCB I am glad your vet made sure you didn't have additional charges. There are medications to prevent constipation. If this is a side effect of the meds Nicky is getting I suggest you talk to the doctor about a preventative treatment. We went through this with Bogie and trips to the vet for enema's were upsetting.
-
Healing vibes for NICKY!
-
Indiana today has 10,154 cases - 519 deaths - 111 cases in my county.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Vibes for TCB and Nicky.
-
I remember seeing one of those previews on TV for "What's So Bad...?" Funny how there's apparently no way to watch it now.
-
Watching "Kath and Kim" on Netflix. It never fails to entertain.
-
I need a break.
-
I've made pasta sauce. This morning none of the cats have taken their usual sleep break from aropund 10-2 or 3:00. They're working my last nerve today.
-
When the boss handed out our paychecks today he mentioned that they paid us for this past Monday, when we were closed for cleaning. Additionally we each received 5 hours of overtime pay...at time + 1/2 for working during the pandemic. He said that extra pay will continue through the shutdown period.
-
I was quite pleasantly surprised at this turn of events

-
The cats and I had a nap. They're still napping and I am enjoying the quiet.
-
In other news, it was only yesterday, I think, that BK talked about watching a movie called FIVE.
Well, this is today, and what do I find while browsing what's on my DVR, but.... a movie called FIVE.
And sure enough, it's the Arch Oboler. I barely remember checking the TCM guide and setting it to be recorded. Well, now I will watch it for my first time. It will make a fine warmup to watching HOTEL this evening.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Mary Tyler Moore isn't preggo in the movie - she's hiding the Toucan and pretending. They spend half the movie TRYING to infect the population of NY by NOT wearing masks. As I said, rather mind-boggling in light of now.

My sister Linda just called. Dad’s younger brother, James, has died. He, too, had dementia and who knows what else. The service is tentatively set for September. My sister thinks I ought to be able to make that. I laughed at her. Gently.

I think that this is probably quite common. And I was sort of like this at the beginning of isolation. But since I am not going to any stores and stay far away from people outside ... I find that I have not been excessively questioning every cough or symptom.

Shouldn't he be doing direct deposit during this time? I cannot imagine going to the bank or bank machine right now.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I remember What's So Bad About Feeling Good. I saw it on tv, can't tell you when. I remember the toucan and the song, and Mary Tyer Moore and George Peppard, but not much about the plot. I wonder if it's available on Netflix, or Prime or any of those
-
I was quite pleasantly surprised at this turn of events
Especially after the concerns you had when you had to be closed on Monday! Good news!
-

Sorry for your loss, John...hopefully September will be good

TCB hopefully Nicky's problem is manageable through high fiber food. There are different foods that you can get with high fiber. Callie had a physical obstruction that was permanent so we dealt with occasional enemas her whole life. I had to give her stool softeners every day. Her last vet had me sprinkle miralax on her food. Can't remember the dosage, but it was easy to do. Might be something you could ask your vet about if this is a recurring problem. Vibes Nicky feels better once he recovers from the enema.

I've had several major research and writing projects for work this month, 2 1/2 done 2 1/2 to go. The last one I literally sat and wrote for 12 hours the other day. I took a few breaks, but just sitting and typing that long has made by body really ache. I'm better today than yesterday. But have a couple big deadlines left for Tuesday so I need to get back at it soon
-
My nephew was supposed to be done with his volunteering in NYC today but he decided to stay another week. The funeral home isn't caught up yet. He's also had a number of pick ups from people who died at home. I wonder if hey are counted in the death toll.
-
The replacement charging cord I ordered 3 weeks ago on Amazon finally came in. Nice to be able to us my favorite lap top again.
-
Well . . . I've made better pasta sauce. It will do, but I'll be happy when it's finished up.
-
This turned into a very lazy day.
-
Condolences to DR JOHN G & Family.

We do get direct deposit but we still get a facsimile check that shows how much we are receiving and taxes taken.. I am sure he mentioned it because most of us don’t look at them because they are the same every week and also so none of us would think an error had been made

They were saying on the news that if they weren’t tested they won’t be included in the official death toll, I think they should keep a running total of suspected covaid tests

Facebook today is a classic example of why it's a cesspool. There were two stories today and the headlines screamed in all the posted articles: FLORIDA OPENS BEACHES!!! and the other: TEXAS IS RE-OPENING NEXT WEEK, all followed by the usual Facebook screaming and yelling and berating. The photo that accompanied the beaches story was just what you'd expect, a crowded beach filled with sunbathers. Well, I did what nobody else does - I clicked through and actually read the articles for both stories and lo and behold what do I find? FLORIDA in general is NOT opening beaches - ONE county, Jacksonville, is, but only for stuff like walks - the beach is, in fact, CLOSED from 11am to 5pm and is ONLY open for walks and jogs (NO sunbathing, NO volleyball or that kind of activity) from nine to eleven in the morning, and five to eight in the evening and social distancing MUST be observed. Not one single person in any of these Facebook threads had actually bothered to find out the real story. Not ONE. Now, one could take the position that the early re-opening stuff is only supposed to be for stuff to help the economy, which this clearly is not.
As to Texas "re-opening" well no, not really. Parks will be opened, but they were open two weeks ago and then closed, masks must still be worn in parks and distances kept. That's that. And stores will be allowed to re-open - WAIT - only for "to-go" business, i.e. you can't go IN the store to shop, you have to order online or phone and have it delivered or at a curbside pick-up.
So, in both cases we have screaming and yelling over what exactly? There are so many things to be outraged about, and legitimately so. These two instances are not, in my opinion. But no one knows that because they can't read beyond a click-bait headline.
-
And please understand that I am not condoning or not condoning these actions, I'm merely saying what they're actually doing.
-

My condolences on the loss of your uncle. Unless we have a vaccination I doubt you will be going to the service. I pray there is one as I want to hold Freyja.

It was perfect weather today and we were able to wear shorts & t-shirts on our afternoon walk. We should have gone to Fort Vancouver though as all the covidiots were out.
-
Keith & I intentionally put a few pounds on, just in case we get sick. Those pounds are fine in our warmer walking clothes. Our nicer shorts are now a bit tight and we can't go out and buy more.
-
For me, it takes years in-between finding a pair of shorts that fit. They never have a second pair for me to buy.
-
Hello, everyone.

I had an acupuncture appointment today, which I really needed. My acupuncturist texted me early this morning, saying that maybe we should wait. Nooooo!!! I explained that I've been in a lot of pain and NEED treatment. What don't doctors and nurses understand about chronic pain? Do they think it's very occasional? Gawd! I persuaded her to treat me. I hadn't known that I've been her only patient since she reopened two weeks ago, but today someone else came in, too.
-
I stopped afterwards at a Mediterranean restaurant. I hadn't been there before because it seemed rather high-priced for what it was. But the food was actually quite good. I had a falafel wrap with a small salad. I'll go back.
-
There was a sign on the door: "No mask. No entry."
That's the first time I've seen that.

Thank goodness someone else showed up today. Maybe she can schedule you both again on the same day.
Did you all wear masks?

Sounds good.

There's an optician nearby that is doing their best to stay in business and serve its customers during the lockdown. I give them a lot of credit. I don't wear contacts and need prescription sunglasses, not non-prescription--the two items they're selling--but I may contact them about adjusting my glasses. I just don't believe that there isn't some way we can do more to take care of people's medical/dental/optical needs that is still in keeping with the distancing and other guidelines.

I didn't see the other patient and don't know how often she comes in. I was told she's a yoga teacher who's been in isolation for a month.
My acupuncturist now wears a mask and gloves. The gloves must be a bit tricky, as I think she relies to some degree on tactile feedback when inserting the needles. I arrive in a mask, but cannot wear it during treatment, as she sticks needles into my face (sinuses, TMJ, etc).
-
When I walked in one of the other acupuncturists was wiping down the waiting area. This is a very clean office. I feel far safer there than I do at the supermarket.
-
Jane, my friend in Hawaii, who knows a lot about health issues, told me about a cleaning and disinfecting product that doesn't have the toxic downside of Lysol or Clorox. It's called Force of Nature. I've ordered the starter kit, but it was backordered and I probably won't receive it for another week or so. I'm anxious to try it.

What a difference from your last employer! We are all so glad you found this job!

Stay well.
TTFN.

I had to call my optometrist office today. They had a very long, clear, detailed message of options while they are closed. I complimented the message and then explained my problem that the custom made clip on sunglasses for my glasses broke. I also mentioned I understand it might be awhile before they get back to me and they might not be able to help me.
I think glasses to see are essential items.

I hope you have the relief you expected.

Well . . . I've made better pasta sauce. It will do, but I'll be happy when it's finished up.
I wish I had done that. I had a package of chicken thighs in the fridge I needed to cook up. So, I finally cooked them up with some mushrooms in a cream sauce. I can finally sit down to eat.

Thanks for the heads-up. I haven't needed to go to the acupuncturist, but it's getting close to time and all the stuff I'm allergic to in spring/summer is out in full force.

Texas' governor wants to reopen everything in the next four to six weeks. Meanwhile, my mayor is tightening up the restrictions. And my employer is seriously considering the savings they would make if everyone worked from home. I doubt I will be able to work from home permanently, but I do think I will be working from home more than half of the time.

Starting off the night with Girl With the Green Eyes with Peter Finch and Rita Tushingham. Lynn Redgrave is so incredibly young.

I don’t need to go to the bank as I have direct deposit. When I saw what was happening I took out some cash ( which I’m holding for emergency use) and using my debit card to pay for everything.
I’ve only been shopping places where I scan my card myself so no one else touches it.

Thank you, all, for the condolences. On a certain level, it's good to know the three Griffin boys are together again.

We are about to watch season 6, episode 3 of BOSCH.

Just to put Vixmom's mind at rest, I do not need to pay anyone for the acupuncture. My insurance covers it. It's actually quite a relaxing experience amd most of the time I don't even feel the needles.

I watched THE MALLORCA FILES, a fun, lighthearted crime show. It makes me want to visit Mallorca.
-
Good night.
-
Finished with my viewing - two excellent motion pictures.
-
The library has taken off any sort of possible reopening date on the website. But they did add new titles beyond downloadable books and audiobooks. There are new movies, new books, new books on CD, new cookbooks.
-
That's sort of a step back to old normal for me. I wonder when I'm going to get anything I have on hold, though. The bookdrops are still closed.
-
Why are we on page four?
-
Let's move on ...
-
Five!
-
Good night, all.
-
Making the tuna pasta salad now.
-
And listening to music.
-
I am going to read.
-
Good Evening. I don't really have anything to say but thought I'd at least post something

I am home. I had to rush Nick to the hospital tonight. I found him almost comatose under the bed. He only made a sound a couple times on the drive. Of course, I had to stay in my car while they rushed him into the hospital. I hate that part of it.
For one thing, his blood sugars had crashed. His sugars were at 60. The doctor says that it looks like there may be other problems. She suggested an ultrasound, but the cost is $450.00. She said I needed to figure out what the financial limit I want to go with a 23 year old cat. We are already at just about $1,000.00 for tonight.
I need to sleep on this, I guess. If I can sleep at all.

TOD
I cleaned off a table last night and found that I'd taken out UNSUNG SONDHEIM which, somewhat embarrassingly, was still sitting there waiting for me. So today's going to be an UNSUNG SONDHEIM kind of day.
UNSUNG SONDHEIM is truly one of my absolute, all-time favorite musical theater CDs! I LOVE this recording! Thanks, BK, for doing that one! :D

Oh, my goodness! I'm so sorry, Tom. :(

~~~CONTINUED SUPER VIBES OF ALL KINDS FOR NICKY!!~~~
-
When the boss handed out our paychecks today he mentioned that they paid us for this past Monday, when we were closed for cleaning. Additionally we each received 5 hours of overtime pay...at time + 1/2 for working during the pandemic. He said that extra pay will continue through the shutdown period.
Very nice, Vixmom!
-
I went in to work today and got most of the invoicing done that needed to be done.
-
I'll go back on Monday to pay the Amazon invoice, and see if someone will be there to unpack and maybe those invoices will need to be paid.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone???
-
This is most Unseemly.
-
Hideously unseemly.
But what can one do about it.
-
After work, I delivered three personal packages to a co-worker at home because he doesn't drive and he doesn't live too far away from where we work, and I was at work and have a car.
-
One can do nothing.
-
I need some damn packages.
-
After the delivery, I went to my sister's house to celebrate my niece's 36th birthday!
-
