Well, you've read the notes, the notes had another fine coincidence, and now it is time for you to post until the coincidental cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CHOCKABLOCK!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Topic of the Day: John Williams...just about everything of his that I've heard (but, of course, I haven't heard everything that he's written).
-
George, I agree with you. Love John Williams.
-
Tom, so sorry to hear about Nicky. Sending healing vibes!
-
I''m now catching up on yesterdays posts and just read John post about his dad's younger brother dying. I'm so sorry, John. My condolences to your family. :(
-
Hi, jan! How're you doing during these pandemic times?
-
The Randolph Scott/Budd Boetticher DVD set is a favorite of mine.
Boetticher, as you may know, was my publicity client.
In fact, I have a framed lobby card from THE TALL T, signed by both Scott and Boetticher, hanging on my wall.
-
T.O.D.
John Williams
Maurice Jarre
Both are former publicity clients.
-
DR TCB best of vibes to you and Nicky.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I fed the cats and went back to bed, I got up around 8:00, started the coffee, dressed, and opened the blinds for the cats.
-
DR TCB, my heart breaks for you and Nicky. He's been a very fortunate cat to spend his life with such a wonderful and loving cohort in crime.
-
I will be so happy when/if my period of shit finances is over. Thatch needs an echocardiogram and dental work for gingivitis, and I have a lot of guilt over my inability to pay for any of it.
-
I have no plans for today, absolutely none.
-
Same for me DR ELMORE.....and that's okay.
-
SUPERVIBES for DR TCB and NICKY......
-
I always liked it when Paul Winchell & Jerry Mahoney would sing the Nestle song and Farfel would end it by singing: CHOCKABLOCK.
-
TOD:
Many.....but my favorite would be Elmer Bernstein....
To Kill A Mockingbird
The Carpetbaggers
The Ten Commandments
True Grit
Sweet Smell of Success
Summer & Smoke
From the Terrace
The Magnificent Seven
Where's Jack?
And many more......
-
I have been awake since 2:30
-
Kitty cleanup is over. Stella is creating havoc in the bathroom, tossing toothpaste off the sink, tweezers and shampoo into the tub. Then she lies in the sink with a what-did-I-do? attitude.
-
;D
-
Good morning, all.
-
Nine hours of sleep. Feels good. Very good.
-
TOD:
Nino Rota
8 1/2
The White Sheik
Amarcord
Nights of the Cabiria
The Godfather
Romeo and Juliet
Juliet of the Spirits
The Leopard
La Dolce Vita
-
Good morning, all.
-
Huge vibes for TCB and Nicky.
-
Some wet snowflakes here a while ago. A little farther north they got an actual covering of snow. Which will go away later, no biggie. But still.
-
I’m still amazed at how good and how enjoyable HOTEL was last night.
Must pick something equally good for tonight.
-
Oh wait. Friends at one of the regional theaters have a live streaming set of one-acts I need to watch, so supporting them by being there will be at least part of my evening.
Later today I’ll also check out the streaming BROADWAY CARES benefit.
-
I’ve started Bondarchuk’s War and Peace. It’s only seven hours, not nine. But it’s probably 10 with the extras.
-
Nine hours of sleep. Feels good. Very good.
I am sooo jealous :)
-
I woke up at 5:30 am
-
Since my alarm went off (by design)
-
And went to the supermarket.
-
Mom had given me a list of things that she needed/wanted
-
And I needed to replenish milk, bread and eggs
-
So I got there for old people shopping hours at 6 am
-
Not too many people there
-
I managed to get Lysol cleaning liquid for Mom
-
They had a limited supply if tp and paper towels but no napkins. But since I have an adequate supply to last at least a month I left it there for someone else
-
Mom and I both needed eggs, she only wanted 6 or 8
-
They had a big sign that you could only buy one carton of eggs ...so I bought a carton of 18 and split it between us
-
They also had a few bags of sugar for the first time in weeks so I bought a 5 lb bag for Mom
-
There was absolutely no chopped meat and no breakfast sausages to be found
-
I like this supermarket because I get a scanner at the door and scan and pack my groceries as I shop, then at the self check register ( they have 10 of these besides another 10 staffed registers) you just hit “check out” on your scanner and a bar code pops up, you scan your barcode at the register , you pay by card and the receipt pops up and you are in your way!
-
No need for human contact.
-
It’s also a lot faster and since your scanner shows you exactly how much the item is and keeps a running total there is no sticker shock at the register. If you decide something’s too expensive or if you go over budget, you can delete the offending item tight there in the aisle and put it back on the shelf
-
I like that scanner idea DR VIXMOM - I don't think we have it anywhere I shop.....
-
DR JANE why did you get up so early?
-
Nice cool, sunny day today.
-
I made some cheeseburgers for today and tomorrow.....if they last that long.
-
By time I was done there it was 7:50 and the BJs next door has senior shopping at 8
-
I pulled up and there was a huge line of people standing out in the drizzle, but they looked younger than 60 to me
-
So I sat in my car and listened to NPR until 8 then strolled up to the door
-
This is the first time I was proofed at the door to check my age
-
I thanked the young man for thinking I might be too young to enter (it’s been about t 35 years since anyone’s proofed me)
-
Major vibes for DR TCB and Nicky!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
They had a full stock of TP and paper towels but again I have suffcient.
-
This is the first time I was proofed at the door to check my age
I guess that since there were so many people waiting in line ... they must have decided that they had to check. Otherwise some of those people would try to sneak in.
-
I was able to score a 5 pack of Clorox wipes for $13.99 with a $3.00 automatic coupon.
-
For the first time this week it is warmish and sunny. It is a high of 10C (which is like 50F) which might seem cold. But it's so sunny. And it's been so much colder than that all week. So i am happy.
-
My boss has been desperate to get some for the office and recently put in an order where he got completed robbed being charges $60 for a 4 pack...and it still hasn’t arrived. So he’ll be quite pleased to see these
-
I was hoping to get some more gloves but there were none to be found
-
I was able to get 6 lbs of ground beef and some nice red, orange and yellow peppers so I shall make stuffed peppers with half and either a meatloaf or chili with the other half
-
I ran into the same friend from church that I saw last Saturday morning and we had a nice well spaced apart chat. It was so nice to see someone from church in person again.
-
And I was able to get bread and ice cream
-
By 9 I was home and unpacked everything
-
I was busy sorting out and packing the stuff for Mom when Vixdad wandered out of the bedroom, “when are you going shopping?”
-
I explained I had already been fir the past 3 hours
-
Then I brought Mom her groceries while he showered
-
I was back home before he was finished
-
So I made a pit of tea and some lovely eggs Benedict
-
And then I cleaned up the kitchen and had a tiny nap
-
And thats all the news I have
-
Now I should catch up
-
Tom, I am so sorry about Nicky. (((Hugs)))
-
A pit of tea. Sounds good.
-
I’m now 2.5 hours in. Finished with part one of four parts. We’ve done some war and had some peace.
-
I’ll take a break in about an hour.
-
Thatch and I had a lie-down. Then I made a cave for him out of the blankets. He was about to explore when Annabelle jumped onto the bed and then jumped on the cave, wrecking it.
-
Saturday afternoon greetings! We have big plans for today - going to the pharmacy drive-up window to pick up a refill of one of my prescriptions. We’re even going to take my car which hasn’t been driven in a month. Hope it starts...
-
They had a big sign that you could only buy one carton of eggs ...so I bought a carton of 18 and split it between us
That worked out well.
-

Are you packing them into your own bags as you shop?
-
I like that scanner idea DR VIXMOM - I don't think we have it anywhere I shop.....
Fred Meyer has it but we have never used it. I don't think Safeway has it.
-
DR JANE why did you get up so early?
I wish I knew. I didn't actually get up. I kept trying to go back to sleep.
-
They also had a few bags of sugar for the first time in weeks so I bought a 5 lb bag for Mom
I feel bad that I have some sugar & flour and am not baking. I keep forgetting to ask Bryan if he ever found flour.
-
I was able to score a 5 pack of Clorox wipes for $13.99 with a $3.00 automatic coupon.
Wow. I had no idea they sold 5 packs. Those are the containers of 85 each? That was a great find. I can't believe they even offered a coupon for such a precious item.
-
My boss has been desperate to get some for the office and recently put in an order where he got completed robbed being charges $60 for a 4 pack...and it still hasn’t arrived. So he’ll be quite pleased to see these
It is a shame he even paid that if he had received the product.
-

;D

It is convenient your mother lives close to you.

Good luck with your car.
-
Thanks, Jane - I’ll let you know...
-
Condolences to DR John G and family.
-
Vibes for DR TCB and Nicky.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep.
-
I forgot B.J.'s is like Costco. Apparently, though they are currently out of stock, also sell the 5 pack of Clorox wipes. I have never needed that many at once before now. Now I know why sometimes the work out room here has lemon scented wipes & other times regular scented. I only get the lemon or sometimes the orange. I keep one in our bathroom & one in the laundry room & they normally last a long time. All off my pants pockets have the individual wrapped Wet Ones in case I need them while walking.
-
Got up and made a pot of lentil soup, which I have no appetite for. I will eat it later. Back to the movie.
-
Good afternoon. Nicky passed away at 11:45 a.m. this morning. I was with him when he went. My heart is broken.
-
Oh, so sorry TCB. We're all with you at this sad time.
-
Tom I am very relieved you were able to be with him, and very sorry your heart is breaking :(

I was pretty surprised but grabbed it for the office

Yep, she’s just across town, maybe 2 miles from here.
-
Good afternoon. Nicky passed away at 11:45 a.m. this morning. I was with him when he went. My heart is broken.
Oh Tom, I am so, so sorry. Sending you vibes of comforts and (((hugs)))
-
I just watched Levi! which I enjoyed very much, thank you Bruce.
But now my iPad is down to 4% so I must plug it in
-
Good afternoon. Nicky passed away at 11:45 a.m. this morning. I was with him when he went. My heart is broken.
I am so sorry, DR TCB. He was so lucky to be your cat, and my heart breaks for both of you.
-
Tom, my heart aches for you. You gave Nicky a wonderful life.
-
It is heartbreaking, TCB. I am so sorry.
-
Condolences, TCB.
-
I am so sorry Tom - condolences thoughts and vibes.
Those little creatures leave such a big paw print.
-
I'm beginning to think that all these "demonstrations" were a planned and coordinated thing to time out exactly with the person in the White House's telling people to liberate themselves, mostly in states with Democrat governors. It can't just happen out of the blue like this - or maybe it's just the cynic in me.
-
So sorry, DR TCB :'(
-
My car started just fine and I remembered how to drive. We are back now, probably until we pick up a grocery order sometime in the middle of next week.
-
I am making plans now for a grocery run one day next week.....
-
10,641 cases in Indiana - 545 deaths - 111 cases in my county
-
Tom, my heart is also broken at your loss. I burst into tears when I read your post. It reminded me of when I lost my baby, Garbo. I hope you can feel better soon.
-
I am so sorry for your loss DR TCB. :( ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
Five!
-
I agree with you, BK.
-

LOL I am glad you remembered how to drive.

I just had a wonderful long conversation with a dear friend. Near the end I found out what prompted her call. A mutual friend is in the hospital with pneumonia. She has lung cancer, which is under control, making this news extra scary. As far as I know she doesn't have the virus.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Good afternoon. Nicky passed away at 11:45 a.m. this morning. I was with him when he went. My heart is broken.
Oh TCB, I am so sorry. Glad you got to be with him, but it is so heartbreaking to lose a furry family member
-
Tom, I'm so saddened by your loss. I'm very glad you were with Nicky at the time. This was at the hospital?
Mega vibes of comfort to you.
-

I am. I’ve been using my own bags for several years now.
I hope you wash them regularly, I've seen shows where they test peoples' bags and the germs etc on them isn't pleasant
-
I am making plans now for a grocery run one day next week.....
That's what I'm doing
-
I've been cleaning and doing laundry. I slept poorly and am quite pooped now.
-
TTFN.
-
I got another project done for work today. They changed the procedure, so I'm not sure I did everything I needed to do, but if not, the clerk will tell me Monday morning. Between the time I lost with losing two family members and everything being pushed off until this month I was way behind. I'm not quite caught up, but getting darned close.
-
It was beautiful weather here today. In the 70s. My windows have been open all day and it feels so good to have fresh air in here. I did sit in the sun for about 15 minutes to get a little vitamin d. felt good
-
TCB, 23 years is a very long live for a cat. He was so lucky to have a human like you who gave him an extra long life full of love.

Watching a motion picture, but taking a little break.
-
TCB, I know how it feels.
Sending you a big hug and vibes of comfort.
-
And sending greetings and good vibes to all of you fine people on HHW.
❤️❤️
-
Has anyone read Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mendel? Really good pandemic novel.
-

Good to see you. Drop by more often!
-
OK, so I needed something light after War and Peace -- and a little shorter -- so I started SpongeBob the Musical. Ouch. The characters are quarantined to their homes while waiting for the end of the world, and everybody's bored because there's nothing on TV. This is fun?
-
Good night, all.
-
Thanks for the warm welcome, John G.!
-
I have lost 2 cats, sisters. They lived to be 20 years old.
It’s difficult to explain the bonds we shared to those who have never had a furbaby...but the pain of losing them has never left me.
I wish that I could lessen TCB’s heartbreak, but it takes time.
You are in my thoughts, TCB.
Sending lots of love your way.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-

I liked it very much. I also read before the pandemic. I started his new book and couldn't get into it. I am not sure if it is me or the book.
-
And sending greetings and good vibes to all of you fine people on HHW.
❤️❤️
Thanks, and wishing g you the same. Please do stop in more often so we know you are ok.

Over the years I have grieved for 12 cats, 1 Guinea pig, 2 gerbils, and 9 dogs. That doesn't include my friend's pets :(

Very well said, I have lost three cats, two were 14 years old the other was a bit younger. The pain I felt was very deep and still comes back from time to time. And there were our two dogs growing up. I still miss them from time to time.

On my own, I've only had Neve (current cat...and today is her birthday!) and Ebonie (former cat). Both were hand-me-downs. :)
-
I actually posted this on Facebook just before I came here. I wrote, "Self-quarantining with cat and mouse (and mouse mat)."
-
I hadn’t planned on coming here this evening.
-
And then I wrote, "And today is actually my cat Neve's birthday. April 18, but either 2001 or 2002."
-
However, I wanted to thank all of you for the beautiful and heartfelt words of comfort. This is truly a family that BK has created here at HHW.
Thank you to all of you kind and wonderful people.

Did you watch the virus concert tonight?
-
I texted some of my non-HHW fans about Nicky, because I couldn’t bring myself to try and talk on the phone.
-
I will have to call my sister tomorrow, because she doesn’t text.
-
Did you watch the virus concert tonight?
I recorded it, but haven't watched it, yet. Did you?

~~~Vibes of Comfort and Coping for Everyone!!~~~
-
Tomorrow, I'm going to my parents' for an early dinner.
-
I'm sure that we'll play Phase 10, too.
-
Today, I went to Panda Express for lunch/dinner.
-
They had a limited menu.
-
I usually get Kung Pao Chicken and Black Pepper Chicken with Chow Mein.
-
But Black Pepper Chicken wasn't available.
-
I don't know if they just ran out, or if they're not serving it now to limit their menu until things get back to normal.
-
IT'S PAGE SEVEN!
