Well, you've read the notes, the notes were May-like and certainly lusty, and now it is time for you to post until the lusty May cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INFLORESCENCE!
-
First post after BK.
-
Good night.
-
Speaking of listening to music, I was going through videos on YouTube and just happened to come across this compilation: Spaghetti Westerns Music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7tIqEgRwJY):
The Spaghetti Westerns Music – The Greatest Western Music of all time created and composed by Maestro Ennio Morricone. His acclaimed masterpieces all in one special collection.
More than 50 years ago Ennio Morricone revolutionized the concept of Cinema and Film Scores by giving a new and innovative chemistry between images and music. With his unique touch, Maestro created a new music genre, the “Spaghetti Western Music”, a legendary genre recognized worldwide and still inspiring generations.
Pretty cool.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
And then there was a link to Sergio Leone Greatest Western Music of All Time (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZqZ3is9tpk).
Sergio Leone, one of the greatest movie directors of all time wonderfully soundtracked by his friend Maestro Ennio Morricone.
The two music videos don't have the same number of musical selections, so there might not just be pieces missing from one of them.
-
And now, I'm off to bed. I actually need to go in to work tomorrow for a bit. I just need to pay the credit card, but there's only one charge on it (as of Wednesday), so it won't take too long, at all.
Have a good day, all!
-
I predict that this month of May, 2020, will be the least lusty in modern history.
-
Of course, I could be completely wrong.
-
Jane, I am so sorry for your loss.
-
I have never had the opportunity to attend a live Kritzerland show.
Am so looking forward to Sunday!
-
I’m grateful for all of the shows that have been made available for streaming.
That tribute to Sondheim on his 90th birthday was the highlight of my year!
-
TCB, is there any chance that the thought of adopting a new cat would appeal to you?
I know.
It’s so difficult to even entertain that thought right now.
-
I am awake at all hours these days...dates, days, and
time have become meaningless.
-
I hope that everyone here on HHW is staying positive, feeling okay, and is coping as well as possible.
-
I don’t post as often as I would like, but all of you are in my thoughts.
-
I had planned to be back in California by now.
-
The move was set, the packing almost done....and now they can’t move me, as California is considered a “hot zone”. Keeping my fingers crossed for....August? September? October?
Who knows?
-
I am enjoying the shows that Andrew Lloyd Webber has made available for viewing every Friday night. So far, so good.
-
Also appreciate shows streaming at 54below, and Jason Robert Brown’s concerts.
-
Let’s all watch Kritzerland on Sunday night, and reunite here to discuss.
Sound good?
-
Please stay healthy and positive.
-
Good morning, all!
-
This opening of the country today greatly concerns me. I'm still not sure surgery in three weeks is a good idea. My biggest fear is that we're all victims of an idiotic and vain president and an apathetic administration who care more about their power and keeping that position tham public safety.
-
I had a terrible night of sleep. Thatch stayed with me most of the night, Around 4 he abandoned me to frolic with Stella.
-
Last night we watched the second Doris Day-Rock Hudson un-PC comedy Lover Come Back, which has funny moments but never achieves the brilliance of Pillow Talk. The casting is wonderful with marvelous comedians and comediennes - Edie Adams, Ann B. Schultz, Howard St. John, Donna Douglas - but it never gels. The idea of battling advertising agencies for a non-existent product VIP is great, but the central plot of getting Hudson and Day together fizzles. In Some Like It Hot, Tony Curtis' act of being sexually innocent to seduce Marilyn Monroe works because once you've accepted the two men as women and Joey Brown's chasing Jack Lemmon, anything goes. In Lover come Back, Hudson - who looks great in a beard, BTW - pulls the same act, but it's impossible to believe that the brilliant ad executive Day plays would be so gullible and behave so stupidly. I also coundn't buy the happy ending since I never saw once that Hudson actually fell for Day.
What worked? Tony Randall, Edie Adams, Jack Kruschen's explosive attempts to invent VIP and the plot to sell a non-existent product and not be caught.
-
It's time to do kitty cleanup.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Off to work I go. Hi-ho.
-
A friend posted this on Facebook. I love it.

Page 2 Dance!
-
May....the month of INFLORESCENCE - which I have in my kitchen.
-
I fell asleep and missed the preview last night so it was nice to see it in the notes.
-
Vibes for DR JANE on the loss of her friend.
-
Vibes for a big miracle for MR BK.
-
Sunny today here. I am going to make a meat loaf.....and perhaps watch Frankenstein.
-
One of the differences in the two movies is that Ross Hunter didn't produce the second one DR ELMORE.....he would have probably taken care of a couple of your difficulties.....
-

That's true. He would never have let Doris wear those atrocious hats! She was dressed much better in Pillow Talk!
-
Thank you Tom
-
DR TCB I hope your book comes in faster than expected. Many of mine have lately.
-
Bruce I don't think you knew my friend. I first met Sharon Chasen in 7th grade at Palms.
-
Jane, I am so sorry for your loss.
Thank you Iris.
-
The move was set, the packing almost done....and now they can’t move me, as California is considered a “hot zone”. Keeping my fingers crossed for....August? September? October?
Who knows?
I didn't realize you were in housing limbo on top of everything. Good vibes to you. Do you have a nice walk where you live?
-

Thank you.

DITTO!
-
Good morning, all.
-
The coming of May 1st seems to have reset the day of the week to Monday. It sure feels like one.
-
I've never seen Lover Come Back -- at least, not all the way through. In fact, I may have only seen a tiny bit of it once in channel surfing.
EDIT: It's funny, though, because I remember a couple of friends highly touting it as the most "outrageous" of those films. But whatever little snippet I saw, it obviously didn't result in my rushing out to watch it. If it comes along on TCM or something, I'll put it on for whatever the good parts are. In the meantime, I'd like to extend a laurel and hearty thank you to DR Elmore for taking one for the team. :)
-
Whatever the hell I dreamed, it's trying to come to me in bits and pieces. Even though I know it doesn't amount to a hill of beans.
-
I braved the supermarket this morning. There are now limits on meat purchases. I didn’t buy any, so it didn’t affect me.
-
I forgot until I got back to feed the cat. Well, Mama was hissing as usual when I came out, but when she saw the Meow Mix, she actually came up to me as I stood by her dish. And started eating without me having to leave. The babies were running all over the place.
-
I’ve gone to Moscow, it’s very gay, well anyway on the first of May!
A morning Sondheim reference
-
Love the BBC Proms orchestra on this.

Actually, it's the John Wilson Orchestra at the Proms. This is the only recording in good sound of the entire original Broadway production number arranged by Trude Rittman.

Aww, progress with mama cat.
-
Friday morning greetings! Not much to say today, except I was glad to be up late enough and at my computer for last night's test. I loved the song.
-
This has been a dreadful morning of frustration. I've called my HMO twice for account info and each time I've tried to speak to a customer service re, the line goes dead. I called Suad about finishing up this unemployment business and she was offto a meeting so I'm waiting on a return call. My printer keeps going offline. Agh!

Thanks for the clarification. The sound is super.
-
Listening to the Bernstein Mahler 2. Gorgeous, even if the sound is scratchy at times. I didn't realize it was a reaction to the JFK assassination.
I can't imagine programming something like that on national TV today, except on ONE.
-
Three!
-
Richard Nelson, a playwright I mostly enjoy, has “premiered” his latest work online. What Do We Need to Talk About? Conversations with Zoom is on YouTube through Sunday. It’s only an hour+, but it has a good cast and might be worth checking out.
-
His book for Chess on Broadway was riotously bad. But there was no winning that one.
-
I am awake at all hours these days...dates, days, and
time have become meaningless.
Boy, do I feel the same way. Having my office at home, I find I'm working at all hours of the day and night but also relaxing during the day when I normally don't. The first thing I have to do each morning is figure out what day it is, so I know what deadline I have today. It's strange, but I'm kind of liking it
-
Well, got the sentencing done. I wore my N95 mask again, but I think I'm allergic to it. I did get a regular mask yesterday and I'm going to start wearing that unless I'm at Walmart or the grocery store.
-
I was up until after 2:00 am working on administrative stuff for the office. Man it feels good to be catching up.
-
I'm taking the rest of the day off. I do have some office work to do over the weekend, but not today.
-
There are a bunch of bare spots on my lawn, so i think I'll run to the farm and home store and get some grass seed. We're supposed to have rain tonight and tomorrow, so I should be able to just spread it out and let nature take it's course.
-
I noticed some of my lilacs are in bloom. I love the smell of lilacs.
-
I wish I could go into a store here. I need a tripod for my camera. I did talk to a professional photographer friend who told me what to get, so i may just order one
-
It's supposed to be 88 degrees today. That's hot for May 1. Better go start my errands....later
-

Agh!
Keith said to tell you he had an MRI and the sterilization of the room & equipment was excessive, including the check in process. He figures NY is even more caution. I hope that makes you feel better.
-

Sorry about that. I didn't have a problem with my K95, but then I only wore it at the market. Yesterday we walked to the coffee shop, for the walk and for me to go in and buy a bagel and leave a tip. Only 2 people are permitted in at a time and only the owner is there, though she isn't wearing a mask. I figured my little mask was fine and I didn't need to walk with something bulky.
-

Lovely.

I'm up, I'm up - about seven-and-a-half hours of sleep.
-

Do you have a Best Buy near you? They have curbside pick up.
-
Good afternoon!
-
My condolences on the loss of your friend, DR Jane.
-
Good morning.
-
Jane, I am so sorry about your friend.
-
I got an oil change for the car today. They said they cover the seat with plastic, but they don't sanitize anything.
So I wiped as much down as I could and left the windows open while I drove home. I hope that is enough.
-
While they did that, I went to the grocery store next door. It's a big store, but I thought it was crowded. Lots of people without masks. It was my first trip to a grocery store; I had been to CVS a couple times and Sprouts earlier, neither of which were crowded at all.
-
I may be able to convince my DH to do curbside pickup after this.
-

Thank you both for the reminder! I was thrilled to listen to this a while back, and I want to record it however I might.

Our Governor just rolled out his 5 Stage plan to open Indiana....all subject to change of course.
May 11 will have barbershops and malls and stores open at 50% capacity.....beauty shops and barbershops etc by appt. only, restaurants at 50% capacity and social distancing.
Malls at 50% capacity and social distancing must be observed.
Stage Three on May 24.......Stage Four June 14....and full opening with social distancing on July 4.
This all depends on the numbers and is subject to change.....local governments can impose their OWN guidelines if they wish.
Folks over 65 and at risk folks are still encourage to stay home.....until further notice.....
-
I just told my group to go home for the weekend. Well, they are home.
-
My condolences on the loss of your friend, DR Jane.
Thank you.

Thanks Laura.

Plastic should do it. Good luck and stay well.

It sounds like our Fred Meyer which we try to avoid.
-

I can't do curbside at Fred Meyer because the website won't accept my location-very strange.
-

elmore, I wasn't aware that the country opened today. Certainly here, nothing opened today.
-

I didn't know that either.
The performance is electrifying. I actually think that, sound quality notwithstanding, a comparison with Bernstein's iconic Columbia recording with the same orchestra and mezzo-soprano might find this performance tighter and more satisfying.
And how fascinating to see Jennie Tourel singing this. She sang it with us in 1968 and I was spellbound then just watching her.
Man, how I love a document like this, especially from that general time period, the late '50s and early '60s.
-
I went out on my weekly shopping trip today and found it a bit more stressful in comparison with my last trips out. The crappy weather didn't help, but the store had implemented one-way traffic through the more narrow aisles, which was actually the greatest irritation to me. Not everyone was cognizant of the new arrows on the floor, including me until I'd been in there for a while. But that so restricts your movement through a large supermarket that I swear the visit took twice as long as it might have. That's really my only negative response to the new normal...at this time, anyway. The store was only lightly to moderately populated when I was there, and no one needed to be guided around on a track; everyone was respecting other people's space.
-
elmore, I wasn't aware that the country opened today. Certainly here, nothing opened today.
I can't say it did here either! I thought this was the official Trumpster opening day.
-
Now that Annabelle has had her dinner and seems happy for the nonce - this is subject to change as soon as we approach treat time - she has decided we will watch A Carol Christmas tonight. I guess she's looking for a new starring role.
-
DR John G, I've thought of another series of books that might appeal to your mother. Wendell Berry has his "Port William" fiction series, based loosely on his hometown of Carrollton, KY. I've only read Hannah Coulter, but have always meant to read more of the series.
-
Ohio's stay-at-home order, which expires at midnight tonight, has been renamed "stay safe order" and extended until 11:59pm on May 29.
-
I like the renaming and extension.

I have several books by Wendell Berry here, so I will give them a look. Mom should have gotten Major Pettigrew today. She actually said she hasn't had time to read, but she started Book Woman. She hasn't opened A Gentleman in Moscow yet.

I just now finished my taxes. Ugh. The orange one's plan of robbing from the poor to pay the rich gets worse every year.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Moving vibes to Dear Lurker Iris.
-
Jane, I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
-
Bruce, I enjoyed LITTLE MIRACLES. I really like the song and it was nice hearing you sing it.
Will I be able to watch Sunday's show on YouTube? Same time, same station?
-
The murder of Thor at the New York ACC has finally got media attention. Maybe this will finally force our asses Mayor di Blasio to do something about the monsters running the ACC.

Well, hopefully his political career will be dead in November and he'll be facing prison charges in 2021.
-
I noticed more people out and about today. More patients at acupuncture, more cars (Where did all this traffic come from?). People are getting restless and want out! I'd like to be out more, too, but wish the masks and distancing were closer to 100%.
-
I stopped at an Italian restaurant that I'd never been to. They now have lunch specials -- take-out only, cash only -- pizza for $8 or pasta for $7. I had the penne alfredo with broccoli. It was quite good and more than enough for two meals. Not vegan or gluten-free, but very tasty. I'll be back.
-
I'm intrigued with the inventiveness that many small businesses are showing. Some, like the mom-and-pop Mexican place I go to, are just trying to do business as usual, but aren't seeing many customers. Others, have BIG signs to let us know they're still open and are offering some very good deals. Such a difference in their marketing acumen.
-
Stay safe.
TTFN.

I wore my cloth mask when I went back out and if felt much better. After several hours my allergy symptoms went away, so I'll only wear the N95 when I go to the grocery store or somewhere I expect a crowd
-
I wish I could go into a store here. I need a tripod for my camera. I did talk to a professional photographer friend who told me what to get, so i may just order one

Yes, the funny thing is I've ordered things from Best Buy and the delivery is quicker than curbside pick up.
-

Portland is closing streets to through traffic to make it easier for people to walk while properly social distancing. Someone I know, who is comfortably living at the coast and walking an empty beach since all this began, is complaining about the governor closing the parks and now the streets. It is not like those streets are all that busy right now.

They are smart doing cash only. I would only use a credit card for a big order to avoid the restaurants paying fees for the credit card.
-
I feel asleep earlier today while I was sitting in my recliner and dreamed I was really tired and wanted to take a nap

Our little coffee shop's website might be down, however, she has put out 3 extra signs along the walking path to let people know she is open.
-
There are tons of people out here. And none of them remember how to drive. It was maddening.
-
Oh, and yesterday even though I am on the facebook page I saw a sponsored ad thanking customers for their support.

You just contradicted me about less traffic ;D
-
Jeanne, have you missed the fifty posts with the time and places??? The flyer I posted here? Once again, it's at five CA time, eight East Coast time and in the middle for Central time. It will be on both Facebook (on the Kritzerland Upstairs at Vitello's page) and on my YouTube channel - both links have been posted here. I will also post them in Sunday's notes so reading said notes would be a good idea :)
-
I banked (just a couple of people ahead of me and it went smoothly and quickly), had McDonald's for lunch (I just went there and was one of only two people inside), and have been doing stuff on the computer ever since.
-
I didn't go through the entire store, but the only thing I saw that the big grocery store was out of was flour and yeast.
I have about ten pounds of flour and two yeast packets left. I started some sourdough starter a few days ago. We'll see how that goes.
-
I have lots of baking powder. So biscuits, I guess.
-
Something I thought of last night that made me sad.
Am I going to have to wait until there is a vaccine before I get to play with my grandson again? :-(
There has been a positive case where my son works, so we're kinda nervous about that.
-
Visiting vibes for DR LAURA and DR JANE.......
-
The little girl down the street is running up and down the sidewalk screaming at the top of her lungs for no discernible reason - I may join her if she doesn't stop soon.
-
This could be the beginning of a horror scenario, DR Jrand69. Be very careful.
-
Perhaps one involving chainsaws.
And escaped lunatics.
But I don't want to put any scary thoughts into your head.
-
Visiting vibes for DR LAURA and DR JANE.......
Thank you for the much needed vibes!
-
DR Laura, vibes your son stays well.

He does have a sourdough starter which is good to have right now.

Visiting vibes for DR LAURA and DR JANE.......
And more grandma vibes.
My sister is still recovering from her pneumonia. The worst for her is not being able to be with her great-grandkids.
-
Vibes to Laura and Jane~~~~~~
-
Did a quick Gelson's run - got some Drumsticks ice cream cones, some spicy Thai pasta salad for my snack (not too much), some bagels for the weekend, and some pasta for when I need it.
-
Had an extended happy hour tonight with friends from work via Zoom. It was fun. I off’d a bottle of Viognier/chenin blanc/grenache Blanc during more than two hours of fun. It was good to get with these people, even virtually.

-
Tonight we watched SONG OF THE THIN MAN.
-
I am sorry there aren't anymore to watch.
-
It was a fun series, wasn't it, Jane?
-
I'm thinking of heading off to bed.
-
But not before we leave this page.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Six!
-
My friend in Des Moines has been furloughed for the week. He will be furloughed two more weeks in the near future. Three weeks on, one week off is better than four weeks off.
-
good night, all.
-
I woke up at 5:30 AM got dressed and went to the supermarket
-
I was able to get almost everything I wanted.
-
I woke up at 5:30 AM got dressed and went to the supermarket
Was it open that early?
-
They had big bins full of hand sanitizer in the front of the store but I actually am ok with that as I already had several bottles in the house before all this started
-
I was able to get almost everything I wanted.
Apparently so, lol
-
Our 24 hour stores cut their hours
-
Every time we drive to Florida I buy a bottle for the car, then we us maybe an 8th if the bottle and when I get home I put it away.
-
Then when we plan the next trip I forget we already have some and I buy it again
-
My forgetfulness stood me in good stead
-
I always buy hand sanitizer to use after jail visits. They don't clean those places very often. I still have some at the office
-
Also when the dollar store down the block was closing down I bought a dozen bottles of soft soap
-
So that was helpful
-
When we were last on Florida we visited a speciality store that had all sorts of flavored olive oils and vinegars.
-
I completely forgot about the stuff I bought there and just noticed it in the cabinet tonight
-
So dinner tonight was chicken breast cooked in black truffle infused olive oil
-
accompanied by sautéed onion, mushroom and grape tomatoes with a dash of the same oil and some sunny Paris seasoning
-
How I love that salt free blend!
-
And rice pilaf
-
The chicken was outstanding
-
The other olive oil I bought is infused with blood oranges...I’m thinking that might be nice on pork....
-
I also bought a chocolate infused vinegar..perhaps a little mixed with the blood orange olive oil would make a nice salad dressing...
-
In completely unrelated news, all my clothes seemed to have shrunk in the wash
-
Dang I forgot to charge my iPad. I’m down to 6%
-
I may disappear without warning
-
I woke up at 5:30 AM got dressed and went to the supermarket
Was it open that early?
It open at 6 am for old people shopping, opens to the rest of the populace at 7
-
Nobody ever asks me for ID
:(
-
Of course at 6 in the morning I look to be about 111.....
-
I was able to get almost everything I wanted.
Apparently so, lol
Can’t find any breakfast sausages though...I suppose that’s due to the meat plant issues in Iowa
-
Lucky Seven!
-
When I got home from work I notice my glasses were a bit wobbly
-
The right arm was too wiggly so I gave my specs to Vixdad to see if he could fix it
-
As I handed it to him the right arm fell off, turns out the screw had sheered in 1/2
-
I called the Costco (cause that’s where I got them) and was relieved to learn that they did have someone working the glasses counter
-
Vixdad drove me up there and we arrived to find a line if about 40 people waitin* outside.
-
As one person exited one person was allowed in
-
I went up to the door and explained that I wasn’t there to shop just to have my classes repaired
-
There were radio calls between different parties and finally it was decided I could walk in
-
A few people in line started grumbling and the staff had to assure them that I wasn’t going to be allowed to buy anything
-
Fortunately the woman at the eyeglass place was able to repair my glasses
-
Once this is all over I must really buy myself a spare set
-
I couldn’t use my old pair because I started having double vision issues a while ago so this set has prisms in them which resolved the issue
-
Down to 2%

Good night 💤😴

It was a fun series, wasn't it, Jane?
Extremely fun.

Finished with my viewing.
-
Thunder, lightening, hail, and heavy rain is all scheduled for tomorrow and possibly Sunday.
-
TCB, is there any chance that the thought of adopting a new cat would appeal to you?
I know.
It’s so difficult to even entertain that thought right now.
Probably not anytime soon.

Hi, Tom.
-
Are men just naturally stupid about men’s toupees, or is just me? I never realized that Stephen Colbert wore a toupee until he adjusted it tonight at the start of tonight’s show.
-
I guess I am really dumb about such things.

What?? :o I didn't know that, either!
-
Or maybe I am just tired.

Or maybe I am just tired.
Nope. He hid the fact.
-
BK, the mileage estimate is calculated based on the amount fuel in tour tank. If you ran the engine for 30 minutes, it would certainly change the miles.

Thank you! I guess it isn’t just me.

Love the BBC Proms orchestra on this.

Actually, it's the John Wilson Orchestra at the Proms. This is the only recording in good sound of the entire original Broadway production number arranged by Trude Rittman.
I love this! I was in a local production of Camelot in 1991! My goodness...that was 29 years ago!!

Good night, George.

And the show was already 30 years old when you did it.

I noticed some of my lilacs are in bloom. I love the smell of lilacs.
Me, too. Lilacs and lavender. ;D

Yup! The original production opened on Broadway on December 03, 1960 (https://www.ibdb.com/broadway-production/camelot-2275), and ran until January 05, 1963.

I got an oil change for the car today. They said they cover the seat with plastic, but they don't sanitize anything.
So I wiped as much down as I could and left the windows open while I drove home. I hope that is enough.
I get my oil changed at the local Jiffy Lube, and they now say that you don't have to leave your car.

Washington's stay-at-home order has been extended to the end of May. :-\

They're long.

Really long.

How long are they??

I just now finished my taxes. Ugh. The orange one's plan of robbing from the poor to pay the rich gets worse every year.
Well, hopefully his political career will be dead in November and he'll be facing prison charges in 2021.
There is always hope!! :D
