Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a million stories and were naked, and now it is time for you to post until the naked cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SOLACE!
-
Today, my friend Margo and I are going to order some Mexican take-out and go to her house and eat on her porch at a respectable distance from each other. :) We haven't seen each other in quite a while, so we'll have a lot to ketchup on.
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I got up to feed the cats, walked into the bathroom, and discovered Stella had got to the toilet paper again. I'm pondering my options, none of which involve abandoning her.
-
I may do laundry today. Now that I have a lot of score paper from yesterday's Staples trip, I will work on an orchestration.
-
DR George, despite the quarantine, you had an amazing birthday. That's fantastic.
-
DR Jeannie, you missed the point of my signed check post. That's exactly why Trump wanted his signature on those stimulus checks.
-
My cousin John just posted this on Facebook:
My cousin in New York, is writing a "children's book for adults" about his life with his 2 cats. By the time I got to page 25, I had to find a kitten and named it Wanda.
This bird is not Wanda. My family is eccentric but we're not that eccentric. I just like this photo of John.
-
I went into the bathroom to clean the litter, and found Stella sitting among more shredded toilet paper and the mangled role. I kept my cool. I don't think I screamed and yelled for more than thirty seconds.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Do I have to get up?
-
A little morning music:
https://youtu.be/jbJTfFcxi48
-
That one got me misty-eyed.
-
I have learned never to put a trump card on my partner's SOLACE.
-
If any DR who is a movie fan has not read Danny Peary's books - I think there are three volumes - Cult Movies, they are highly recommended by the likes of me.....fun and knowledgeable and includes many things I didn't know about some of my favorite films.
Of course I read them before the inner webs made put such knowledge at your fingertips. But Peary's observations and facts can be depended upon.
-
Good morning, all.
-
That WAS nice DR JOHN G.
DR GEORGE that is a My T Fine photograph of yourself.
I also liked the photo DR ELMORE posted of his cousin and his bird that is not his cat.

I am pleased to announce that my new one-person play, PETER LORRE, is now available in paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon.
Humphrey Bogart, Sydney Greenstreet, Boris Karloff, Vincent Price: Peter has stories about them all.
This is the 28th play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS Collection.
Production rights are available.
Soon, I will be seeking the right voice actor to do an audio version.

I will have my virtual appt. with my surgeon today.
I want to ask him if my immune system is still considered compromised....if that is so I am not permitted to work in the theatre even after the July 4 OPEN.....'
The President sent out a reminder for the theatre meeting this afternoon and included the list that I was talking about yesterday and said he didn't know how we could meet those guidelines.....just as I was saying in my post yesterday....imagine that!
-
That is an amazing picture of the non-cat bird, DR Elmore!
I don't think I've seen one with quite that combination of colors. Those things are so beautiful.
-
The President's signature is NOT on the physical stimulus checks, but his name is on the MEMO line.
I understand that his signature is boldly there on the follow up letter that everyone will receive.

Yes, it is. I received the letter, wondered who really wrote it since Trump is an illiterate, and threw it away.

I've been craving a return to the Tati films for quite a while, and when I decide to take the plunge I'll definitely take them chronologically (which I've never done).
I believe I've seen the first one only once, so it will make a good re-induction. But I've especially looked forward to revisiting MON ONCLE and savoring every detail. It clearly looks ahead to PLAYTIME and has some amazing set pieces. Well, they all having amazing set pieces.
Speaking of revival houses yesterday, it seems like I was always seeing that MON ONCLE was being shown somewhere, and I'm sorry to say I never saw it at a theater. It was eventually a laserdisc discovery for me. In fact, the only Tati I've seen at a theater was that showing of PLAYTIME in NYC several years ago.
-
I need to give Tati another try. But it’ll have to wait for the library to reopen. I still have too many unopened films to watch.
-
I've never seen a Tati film.
-
I am currently in Amazon hell and very unhappy about dealing with a chatroom as opposed to talking to a rep.

Page Two.

HA! The doctor called me early and my appointment is finished.
No problems and life goes on.... It was very nice to see him and Nurse Liz.....
-
Good news, JRand.

Yes I am pleased....although Dr. Tsai was unenthusiastic about my participating in community theatre this summer........

We are doing a Messenger chat tomorrow with 5 friends. That should be interesting, especial with the one couple who use her phone to chat.
-

I never imagined an option would include abandoning her. Did you try making a cover for it like in those photos I posted? Too bad you just don't have a drawer or something you can leave it in.
-
That is an amazing picture of the non-cat bird, DR Elmore!
Ditto!

Have you considered not doing so? I kind of agree with his lack of enthusiasm.

After a couple of frustrating weeks of trying to confirm the order for my lab work, make an appointment, discover if the lab location at the hospital was moved, & finding out where it did move to......I had my "appointment" this morning.
-
The lab was just moved to another building at the hospital complex. Quest Diagnostics does not tell me which tests were ordered, or have the option to do so. That is supposed to show up on my Peace Health hospital patient info but it doesn't. Guess what, as with last year my order was not complete. At least this time the lab technician was able to reach my doctor immediately and not have to wait.
-
I have a confirmation code for my appointment but it apparently wasn't in the system. I did catch the last few minutes of the senior hour had didn't have to wait long, getting me in about the same time as if I had an appointment.
-
I just ate too fast. :P
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings! An hour from now I will be in our primary care physician's office for a routine check and Rx update. They're only seeing patients for "well visits," which is reassuring and slightly amusing at the same time. If you're sick, they want to see you in the parking lot or in their basement, which has a separate entrance. I'll make myself a bandana mask.
-
I just ate too fast. :P
What's your hurry, DR Jane?
-
Stella had another round at the toilet paper, so every time I go near the bathroom door I get the vapors. I did discover a terrible leak in the pipe running from the toilet into the wall, so Jeff our super - nice man but not as quick as Val - came up and repaired it. Stella watched with great interest so my next fear is that I will go into the bathroom and find she's taken the toilet apart.
-
I want a French bulldog puppy! This one's up for adoption on Craig's List.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven and a half hours of sleep.
-
Allergy attack. Pill taken.
-
I didn't get to the laundry. Maybe tomorrow.
-
DR JANE it sounds like someone is asleep at the switch.
Doctor visit vibes for DR GINNY.
-
Today I will finally finish off the meatloaf and potatoes that I made on Saturday.....
-
I will wait to see how today's meeting goes before I decide DR JANE.
It is an option, but I am scheduled to direct a show, and non-participation would be very sad....
-
Yes I am pleased....although Dr. Tsai was unenthusiastic about my participating in community theatre this summer........
Maybe it was the show. 😀
-
I want a French bulldog puppy! This one's up for adoption on Craig's List.
He’s so cute. I bet he could tesr up more toilet paper than Stella.
-
The meetings today are wearing me out.
-
I took a walk at lunch today. The sun wasn’t out. The breeze was cool. I was alone with Journal of the Plague Year. And my sister called. Just a quick question, she said, before talking for 30 minutes.
-
It was okay.
-
Three!
-
LOL DR JOHNG - it's Anything Goes which would/will be fun....

I wonder if they will take your temperature when you walk in. I had to have mine taken before I could go up the elevator to the lab. Everyone was wearing a mask.
-
Casting is almost complete. Got one great NY guest and will figure out another.
-
I just ate too fast. :P
What's your hurry, DR Jane?
Just rushed since I had to deal with the lab this morning. We headed out for our morning walk as soon as I was done eating.
-
We just returned from our shorter afternoon walk along the empty beach.
-

That's a cutie but a good breeder wouldn't have a puppy for sale on Craig's List.
-
DR JANE it sounds like someone is asleep at the switch.

Next year I am going to insist on a copy of the order, just in case I need to give it to the lab.
Ditto on the vibes!

LOL. I don't know. It sounds like Stella has torn up more toilet paper then all of my pets combined.
-
All of my toilet paper shredders lost access to the toilet paper so who knows if they would have been as bad ;)
-
Good evening!
-
I did my weekly shopping late this morning. As has been the case, there weren't a lot of people in the store, so that was good. I also went to CVS and they had paper towels so I grabbed a 6- pack.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s free show this weekend is By Jeeves. I just may have to watch that one.

A little things that excite us these days. Congrats on the paper towels.
-
We just had a long video chat with Bryan, Kate, & Freyja. Her eyes are really tracking and holding now :)
-
Got California Chicken Cafe for food - one breast and a wing and a little of their chicken pasta salad - that was just a little cup. Very good and calorie-friendly.
-
Tonight brings a pandemic musical called Repo! The Genetic Opera. I don't think I'm the target audience. The all-star cast includes Sarah Brightman, Paul Sorvino, Anthony Stewart Head and Paris Hilton.
-

Nice.
-
While social distancing 6 feet from our neighbor, and petting her dog, I asked how her father was. Yesterday he was in the hospital and not doing well. She said he passed away last night. I looked at her and said I wish I could give her a hug, at which point she broke down a bit. It is bad enough to lose someone during these times, worse not to get hugs of comfort. At least she was with him and it was due to other medical issues he has been having, not covid.
-

Nice.
Even though we can't be there it is wonderful we can watch these little changes as they happen.

The Vixter was a huge fan of that....., when she was 15
-
A school facebook page asked people if the recall when they had the Sabin sugar cubes. I remembered having the Salk shot in elementary school.
-
I was surprised when the boys received an oral version as children and asked Bryan if babies still get vaccinated. He said no and that polio was barely mentioned in medical school. He also insisted he hadn't been vaccinated. To my relief I haven't lost my memory. He sorted through his file which included proof of vaccinations he needed for medical school and found he had 4 doses of it.
Along with proof of vaccinations he had to titer for all childhood deceases to show he still had protection from either the illness or vaccinations. He was not required to titer for polio.
-
I am not the most organized person but one thing I kept good records of were their vaccinations. I do the same with ours.
-
DR Jeanne during the facebook discussion I learned that it was the sugar cubes that infected a small percentage of people taking it. I had thought you had the Salk injection. Do you remember which it was?
-
Been working on the June Kritzerland all day. We're trying to get a jump on everything.
-
Thank you for the doctor visit vibes. It went fine - good blood pressure, no weight gain since I was there last, and a painless "Grandma" shot. That's actually a DPT booster to prevent you from giving a baby whooping cough. Not that I expect there's any urgency :'(, but it's done now.
-
Only a DPT booster, without the tetanus? I haven't heard of that. This is the one vaccination Bryan asked us about.

And I think I would have loved it at that age. Instead, I was fairly bored. Surprisingly, it was because it was all just a little too tame and by the numbers.
-
Four!
-
I think I'm going to head off to read for a while and then try to get some sleep.
-
Good night, all.

The T in DPT is for tetanus. I was concerned because I'd just had a tetanus shot last June when I fell and cut my face, but the doctor said it was OK (but he said I was smart to ask). It's the P (pertussus = whooping cough) part that grandparents have to have.
-
Good evening.

Yes, I got the grandma shot a year and a half ago.

I did! We actually took our food down to the boardwalk on the waterfront, so we sat at benches overlooking the water (there were ships in the bay!...a Pacific Overtures reference ;) ) and chatted and ate and watched the jellyfish and minnows (?) in the water, and seagulls and ducks flying around the area.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s free show this weekend is By Jeeves. I just may have to watch that one.
I bought the Region-2 DVD from England back when it was first released. I haven't watched it in many years, so I was thinking of watching it, too. :)
-

That's so sad, Jane. :(
-
Ginny, oh, you previously only had the T part. Did he tell you how long the P is good for? I thought the entire DPT is good for 10 years unless you have an injury and need the tetanus booster.
We get a DPT every 10 years.

Finished with my viewing and shall now take a drive.

Hello, everyone.

A little things that excite us these days. Congrats on the paper towels.
Yes, the last time I bought toilet paper it was the highlight of my day.
I truly hope the shortages ease up soon.
-
I had an exceptionally good shoulder day which is oddly followed by a bad evening. No need for vibes, just mentioning it as I shouldn't type on my tablet.
-
'night
-
DR Jeanne during the facebook discussion I learned that it was the sugar cubes that infected a small percentage of people taking it. I had thought you had the Salk injection. Do you remember which it was?
I believe my first two polio vaccines were shots, then we had the sugar cubes. It was my first vaccine that gave me the polio. That was 1956. I later learned that thousands of children died from it. There was a PBS documentary on polio that mentioned this. I believe they used a live virus for a number of years.
-

Can you see a pattern of what makes it better and what makes it worse? It's not easy to discern, but very helpful if you can!

For those of you who are doing video doctor visits how are they doing it? Do they give you instructions? Do they ask what technology you have?
-
Stay safe.
Good night.

You had the cubes after getting sick :o.
Hmm, I read the Salk shot was not live and the Sabin cube was. The FDA approved some manufactures that were not up to standards that very sadly contaminated some of the shipments of the Salk vaccine.

Sometimes but not what made it worse tonight. Often the morning depends how I sleep. Do g what I am doing right now definitely makes it worse ;D
-
Had a drive and now listening to music.
-
Good evening.
-
Boy, slow day today!
-
Where was everyone today?
-
I guess rhe same place they are this evening.
-
I’m looking forward to our weekend temperatures.
-
Over 80’s on both days.
-
I am at a loss this evening.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
I slept wrong last night, so I have a stiff neck.
-
Hello, George.
-
Good night.
-
I slept wrong last night, so I have a stiff neck.
I hope your neck feels better soon!
-
Good night, Tom.
-
The site was down for I don't know how long - server was locked up. Got it fixed as soon as I saw it.
-
And now what? Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Page five? Really?
-
This seems wrong and wrong this seems.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Have I mentioned that the server was locked up?
-
It was.
-
Locked up.
-
And then I wrote...
-
Why I oughta...
-
Page six? Really?
-
Most unseemly.
-
But new notes are up.
