DR OzDerek went to "Mama Mia" last night but did not see Jose at all. Perhaps Melbourne is not in Indiana.
And it's long past my bedtime. I am heading to bed. I don't know if I will be on much tomorrow as I am busy but I should be able to get on Saturday for a bit.
Jose, I have heard great things about this Cajun restaurant in Broad Ripple calle Yat's that is very reasonably priced. You might want to check it out, but I am sure you will find plenty of places to eat. :-)
My goodness, I achieved my new plateau and didn't even realize it - 12,000 postings, baby - all I can say is - CORPUSCLE!

DR WFO
The "justice system" has run amuck!!
At least you know your child is safer, because Martha Stuart is under house arrest.
DR Ben
Will this be of any help to you?I look forward to your reviews of Chitty & Charity
(Chitty & Charity, weren't they a vaudville team?)
I was thinking of getting Charity tickets fpor my parents and Chitty for the whole family
btw, not to belabor the subject of Terri Schiavo, did anyone notice (as major news outlets failed to mention) that the man who organized the "children's protest"--resulting in a photo-op of arrested children, was a registered sex offender, guilty of two rapes, and the Shindler's grand-standing "spokesman" for the "culture of life", family values, etc. had been kicked out of his church for "inappropriate relations" with several female members of the congregation?
How chatty!
I like big muscles, and red CORPUSCLES. . .
;)
And the Word of the Day is...
-Oops..
;)
DR JRand, have you read any of the unsuccessful plays that Inge wrote after DARK AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS. I knew he had a series of flops in the 1960s, but I've never read (nor seen performed) any of them.
TOD:
VCR: Tape of the West Wing from this past Wednesday night
(am I the only DR who watches this?)
Off to be the orchestra at Pajama Game again.
Friday media report:
CD (in my car) - Mamma Mia, of course, in preparation for Sunday's matinee in Indianapolis!
My playing any Bollywood, Arabian pop, Japanese pop, or 1920s jazz in the car...well, it wouldn't be pretty...those country boys from Wyoming aren't very open minded! LOL!
Hmmm....
Well, hopefully you'll still be coming to the show then, DR Ginny.
;)
(I was going to explain about sealed youth records and such until it suddenly occurred to me that she had the proper attitude to keep herself out of trouble with the law in her rapidly approaching teenage years!! So I shut up!! ;D)
Don't bet on it. I know of cases where those "sealed" youth records are mysteriously available to any law enforcement officer who does a search. But then, this is keeping us safe from terrorists. Like that global positioning microchip in your cell phone.
One last post before I go.
DR WFO, could you explain something mathematical to me? We love fractals in this here home environment, but I do not get how the formulae translate into the patterns. For instance on our fractal calendar, the formula for April is z=z2 + c. Is this some sort of plot-pointing on an axis to create the visual? If so, what the heck is "c"? Any edification would be most appreciated.

DR RP - that is one scary and typical photo.
Or even a bigoted gay Wyoming boy! ;-)
Convicted spammer sentenced to 9 years
Jaynes still won't go to prison, however, pending appealThe Associated Press
Updated: 1:35 p.m. ET April 8, 2005LEESBURG, Va. - A man convicted in the nation's first felony prosecution for illegal spamming was sentenced to nine years in prison Friday, but the judge postponed the sentence while the case is appealed.
Loudoun County Circuit Judge Thomas Horne said that because the law targeting bulk e-mail distribution is new and raises constitutional questions, it was appropriate to defer the prison time until appeals courts rule.
Jeremy Jaynes was convicted in November for using false Internet addresses to send mass e-mail ads through an AOL server in Loudoun. Prosecutors said Jaynes sent more than 10,000 spam e-mails over three days in July 2003 from his Raleigh, N.C., area home, using the Internet to peddle sham products and services such as a "FedEx refund processor."
A jury had recommended the nine-year prison term.
Jaynes told the judge that regardless of how the appeal turns out, “I can guarantee the court I will not be involved in the e-mail marketing business again.”
Lisa Hicks-Thomas, the prosecutor, said she was pleased with the ruling and confident that the law would be upheld on appeal.
“We’re satisfied that the court upheld what 12 citizens of Virginia determined was an appropriate sentence — nine years in prison,” said Hicks-Thomas.
Jaynes' sister, Jessica DeGroot, was also convicted in the November trial, but Horne dismissed that verdict a month ago, saying he found no "rational basis" for it. He upheld Jaynes' conviction, however. A third defendant, Richard Rutkowski was acquitted in the jury trial.
Virginia, where AOL is based, prosecuted the case under a law that took effect in 2003 barring people from sending bulk e-mail that is unsolicited and masks its origin.
Defense attorney David Oblon argued that nine years was far too long given that Jaynes was charged as an out-of-state resident with violating a Virginia law that had taken effect just two weeks before.
EBay scammer sentenced to 6 years
Judge blasts 'complete lack of remorse'The Associated Press
Updated: 12:23 a.m. ET April 6, 2005PORTLAND, Maine - A federal judge rejected a plea bargain from a Yarmouth man accused of conducting a series of Internet scams after the man threw a pitcher of water across the courtroom at a prosecutor who called him a thief.
U.S. District Judge George Singal on Monday sentenced Charles Stergios, 21, to more than six years in prison for scams that cheated 321 people out of $421,000. Singal said he imposed a stricter sentence because Stergios had fought efforts to pay back his victims.
"You have shown a complete lack of remorse in this case," Singal said. "In my view, you are likely to perpetrate when you come out of incarceration."
Stergios wrote bogus checks to buy merchandise through eBay and sold items he didn't own, according to court records. His victims reported that he mocked them and sent insulting e-mails to those who complained about being cheated.
Stergios was to be sentenced Friday but the hearing was postponed after he threw a water pitcher at Assistant U.S. Attorney Halsey Frank.
In rejecting the plea bargain agreement, Singal sentenced Stergios to a year and three months more than prosecutors had requested.
In court, Stergios said he couldn't help himself and that he had become addicted to money the way others get hooked on drugs or alcohol. "Money was my drug, my obsession," he said.
Among Stergios' victims was a military serviceman who wanted to sell his computer to buy Christmas presents for his children. Another was a retired New York City detective.
Stergios pleaded guilty Oct. 18 to bank fraud, wire fraud and mail fraud. He acknowledged defrauding more than 50 victims out of more than $200,000. But more victims and more losses came to light after the plea was entered.
Der Brucer and I have been errant and truant (better than errant and falsant). We have been taking pictures of dogs needing new homes, and staying off of the net in order to keep the phone lines open (only to have the expectant caller call us on the line we keep in the car), and last night we got drunk. (:-\)
Nothing on the job front.
And here are two of our favorite topics "EBay" and the "American Judicial System" wrapped together in one interesting story:I think my favorite part of this story is the con man's excuse that he "became addicted to money"
Just a quick note. I don't think I'll be able to post again today.
Jim's mom just called. He has been sentenced to two years . Two years from last January. The year and a half he spent in Abu Ghraib, Long Island Branch, doesn't count. In January 2007, he can go before the PB again. There is a right to appeal this decision, but his lawyer says it is "a joke".
I'm going home to decide how to break this news to Joe.
Thanks for your vibes, your prayers. You are all wonderful people.

DR Vixmom, I wonder if that spammer guy is facing jail time because he sent spam emails OR because he was peddling fake products. The latter seems much more worthy of punishment.
Has anyone here read Mordden's "The Happiest Corpuscle I've Ever Seen"????
I am shaking my head DR SWW. And I know this has probably already been done, but if your state legislator is accessible, you might ask for his help.Uh, I think you've got me and DR William F. Orr confused again. As in confused for each other.
The cherry trees in Washington DC are very famous, aren’t they? When the cherry trees in Washington DC bloom each year, a festival is held celebrating Japan's arts and culture (http://www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org/cms/index.php?id=390), taking place right now. The trees were a gift from the city of Tokyo to the United States, and are loved.
I was also pleased to see that Amazon is now selling those Sepia reissues of Broadway show albums. They've got TWO'S COMPANY (Bette Davis) and SEVENTEEN/HIGH BUTTON SHOES on their list for imminent release.
I can now retire my worn out TWO'S COMPANY LP after decades of playing.

"Inappropriate relations" with female members of the congregation is impossible, only male-to-male relationships are inappropriate, everyone knows that!
Someone sent me the photo below....truly indicative of one of our hugest problems, donchathink?!!!?McDonalds is evil.
LOL! Nope, but I have read THE HAPPIEST CORPSE I"VE EVER SEEN and was very disappointed with it. I liked his other survey books very much.I happened to like HCIES. I also read it keeping in mind what Mordden states at the very beginning, in the introduction: unlike the other volumes in the series, HCIES is a rant, not a survey. As such, it was entertaining and thought-provoking.
However, just this very morning, I ordered his 1930s musical survey book (the last in the series). I wasn't aware it had been released and just stumbled across it today.
Interestingly, the recording of Colette Collage uses two stars, Judy Blazer for Willy and Judy Kaye for Maurice.
I'm back from Mr. Geissman's and have eleven tracks to rehearse to now.Clearly, Mr. Guy Haines has hijacked BK's computer and wrote this message. I have no idea why he's pretending to be BK.
Has anyone here read Mordden's "The Happiest Corpuscle I've Ever Seen"????
Isn't it amazing how many little Eyetalian's have restaurants? There are a couple in Indy as well.

Peggy ate half the cover of the book on the 30s before I could get to it, however. She also ate Julia Child. She's a happy and wonderful dog, but I wish she would wait until after I've read the books before eating them.
By the by, Mordden mentions our esteemed BK's recording of Colette Collage in HCIES, page 22. And I quote:OK, so it's just one sentence, and he doesn't actually name BK. Still, Mordden rarely mentions recordings of shows, so the mention is noteworthy.
He might try Midas! ;D
A Filipinio masseuer named Heidelberg. Welcome to Indianapolis, DRJOSE! 8)
Peggy is a good critic. Look for my name in the 30s book.
I think Elmore is referring to a footnote on page 131 of Corpse. Either that, or he's stayed remarkably young for much longer than we've suspected, and has probably forgotten more than most of us will ever know!
;) :D
(In fact, that latter is probably true no matter what!)
Before I catch up with yesterday’s post and read today’s I must tell you what is in my DVD player. :D
I am listening Danny Kaye sing Hans Christian Anderson, not so good is that I’m singing along with it. ;D
Bruce THANK YOU!!! :-*
Yes, I believe the POINT is that the two Judys played the young and older Colette. How idiotic is this man to make such a ridiculous error?
As for Mr. Haines and Mr. Geissman...
"Inchworm" - multi-track Mr. Haines... or even better yet, make it a duet for Mr. Haines, and yourself, BK! ;)
Curtain going up on MAMMA MIA! Flying fingers Simbulan is playing right NOW!
DR GINNY & DR JOEY what is our dress code for Sunday?
Der Brucer and I have been errant and truant (better than errant and falsant). We have been taking pictures of dogs needing new homes, and staying off of the net in order to keep the phone lines open (only to have the expectant caller call us on the line we keep in the car), and last night we got drunk. ( :-\ )
DRJANE I love Wonderful Copenhagen, Inchworm, and ALL of the COURT JESTER songs!
The way Mr. Mordden worded the Colette thing is completely inept. It READS as if the Judys are playing Maurice and Willy.
Vixmom & Ginny we watched WEST WING for the first few seasons before Keith gave up on it. I watched one more season but it was too difficult keeping up on my own. Probably if he still traveled I would be watching but I’m much happier having him home.
Isn't that a terrific CD, DRJANE?
I love mine!
DR GINNY - dressy casual is good. I usually wear a jacket, but no tie. You will see everything from mink stoles to blue jeans.
I'm back from Mr. Geissman's and have eleven tracks to rehearse to now. I'll have the other four beginning of next week. He's put guitars and other stuff on them now and they sound faboo. We'll have a horn date in a week and that should do it. I'm really going to enjoy this album when it's all done.
Inchworm (such a beautiful song) and The Ugly Duckling are my two favorite songs from Hans Christian Anderson.
Dressy casual sounds good though I can't help but be a little dissapointed that DR JRand54 won't be in spandex with gold chains...;)
Only a few hours until the big event and I still haven’t figured out what to get Chuck and Camil for a wedding present. I mean, his and hers horse blankets seems so clichéd.

elmore you would not say such sweet things to me if you heard me sing. I even find it painful to listen.Dear Jane, you and I and der Brucer absolutely MUST get together and record trios! We could set musicology back by decades...which might not be a bad thing!
Only a few hours until the big event and I still haven’t figured out what to get Chuck and Camil for a wedding present. I mean, his and hers horse blankets seems so clichéd.
The way Mr. Mordden worded the Colette thing is completely inept. It READS as if the Judys are playing Maurice and Willy. That is probably due to my quoting just the one sentence. Out of context, that sort of thing, y'know...
Hmmm.... I guess I need to work on my sense of scale... ;)
Damn straight...next time we want Corinthian columns and staircases for days..........
And last night you got drunk! I know I shouldn't but, ROTFLOL. I gather this was a result of your good deeds.Actually....uh, no.
Only a few hours until the big event and I still haven’t figured out what to get Chuck and Camil for a wedding present. I mean, his and hers horse blankets seems so clichéd.Feeder bags. Monogrammed.

Cue the music.... Here come the ducks!Where's the orange sauce?????!!!!!
