Well, you've read the notes, the notes were positive about the negativity on social media, and now it is time for you to post until the positive cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EGALITARIAN!
-
Glad to hear George likes the new order better - sequencing is always about ebb and flow, build, and I just felt that while the original sequencing was okay, it just wasn't quite right.
-
Today at work is the cut-off for paying invoices. I have most of them paid, but now all invoices have to be scanned to PDFs. I've scanned most of them already too, so that helps. Tomorrow, I'll run the report that the Finance Office uses to write the checks, then there's a break from paying any until the beginning of next month...the never-ending circle of finance. ;)
-
I'll be listening to the Sandy Bainum tracks again at work while I'm invoicing. :) And now, to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
LOUD!
-
Good morning, all!

Last night I watched the Prologue and Act one of the Paris Opera Ballet production of The Sleeping Beauty with choreography by Rudolf Nureyev "after Petipa." Much of it was quite lovely, but in the Prologue's long introduction of ther fairies and their courts, Rudy's changes weren't happier alternatives to Petipa's original work. The dancers were good and the designs were terrific. The Princess Aurora, Aurélie Dupont, is quite wonderful, and Tchaikovsky's score is so stunning. The Paris Opera orchestra plays it beautifully.
-
And that Paris Opera stage is absolutely enormous!
-
The cats are in fine fettle this morning. All three are running, jumping, colliding, and falling. Annabelle seems happy and healthy this morning and she's jumping all over everything, and Stella and Thatch are playing right along with her. They've knocked something over with a crash that needs investigation; I suspect it's a pile of books.
-
Kellyanne Conway is leaving the White House and her husband is leaving the Lincoln Project. He will be missed, but I fear Mrs Conway's replacement will be even worse than she is. Hopefully, it's only for the next four months.
-
And tonight the little Trump Tugboat of Fools launches. I hope it sinks and no one is saved.
-
Until that debacle, I have my usual morning chores, and I need to make a trek to the post office and pharmacy before the rains land.
-
Good morning to all

T.O.D.
People are posting negative things because they are stuck in the house, and have nothing better to do.
Most of us have never experienced anything like this.
Even after this is over, our world will never be the same.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Congratulations, Jane, on the milestone.
-
I called the pharmacy and my prescriptions are not yet ready. I'll go tomorrow. One prescription has been replaced with another brand that will cost me $150. I told them to cancel it.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Boy, it's a Monday.
I only mention this fact for the benefit of those who haven't yet noticed.
-
At some point today I have a long phone meeting with my Assassins MD about the general plan, logistics, keyboard patches, all that good stuff.
-
At some other point today I'll get my CD and downloaded tracks together for a good listen.
-
And at some much later point today I'll take the trash and the recycling down to the road.
Isn't it exciting, just contemplating that?
-
I think Ross Perot ran on the EGALITARIAN ticket.
-
Congrats to DR JANE on her millstone!!!!
-
Glad to hear the book is done DR ELMORE!
-
A new episode of "Conversations With Jack" can be found on my Facebook page if you are interested.

TOD:
I get tired of reading negative posts. Of course things are bad, but hopefully they will get better.
One friend in my area writes endless posts about local businesses and who is wearing a mask and who isn't and spends much of his time confronting folks who are not wearing masks.
I have begun to skip his Facebook posts....on that subject....
I don't know if case numbers are going up or down....it depends on what and where you read - and who knows who is accurate? I do know that folks are still being infected and folks are dying. That is reason enough to be cautious, but not contentious.
-
George, I had the pie crusts out of the refrigerator for at least 90 minutes before I got around to using them. The flavor is OK. I think I like Pillsbury a little better.
-
Two!

TOD:
The negativity was one reason why I got off social media long before the pandemic.
-
Congratulations, Jane, on the milestone.
Thank you.

Very true though I think there is more to it with those that only post negative things, as well as a variety of reasons.

I don't blame him for getting upset about the maskless people though I have not personally confronted anyone, I just move away from them.
-
I read an article today that the numbers are going down, even in the worst states, in areas where people are wearing masks and avoiding high risk locations such as bars.

I still find enough positive, hopeful, or just posts intended to give joy.

I am still taking virtual trips, on private jets, with a friend. The number of people joining us on his trips has grown. He finds the best hotels, restaurants, and activities for us :)

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.

We went out to the cemetery today to place some flowers on Dad's grave. It was a bit of an ordeal. The marker hasn't been placed yet, the ground hasn't settled yet. The clues we had as to where to find the grave were misleading. Mom was in the heat too long.
My sister, who had originally texted the location, finally sent an image Dad had made back in the 1980s. It had much better and more information than Linda thought was necessary. So, with the help of an attendant, I finally found the grave. mom was not happy because it hadn't been mowed, so it was rather unkempt. But it was better to find it than not. I took a series of pictures to help us find it again, if need be.
-
What an ordeal for your mother. We often get lost at cemeteries trying to find people. I suppose these days finding staff to help you is more difficult. Did you find out if they are mowing less due to the virus?

Ahh...I've used the Pillsbury before, but that was years ago before my sister and her daughter became vegans. Now, they're lacto-ovo-pescatarian (plants, fish, eggs, dairy only), but the Pillsbury pie crusts use lard and they will NEVER (knowingly) eat anything with that in it.

No, Jane, it's not. ::)

That rules out Pillsbury for me, if I ever want to use it.

James Bowen posted this photo of him and Bob today.

Does anybody here watch YELLOWSTONE?
Was last night the end of the series.

No. They don't mow unsettled graves.

Ha. So, what do you like better? I don't like how thick it is. And that thickness conveys a dough-ier flavor. I would rather have the dough support the filling, not dominate it, which I feel this one does.
-
I like lard. It's healthy.

:)

Now I understand. I didn't realize it took so long for them to settle. Is that why the marker has not been placed?

Sure it is.

Monday afternoon greetings! Richard and I had a nice outing today. We had a several errands to run and one of them put us in proximity to Freddie's, one of our favorite burger places. We went to the drive-thru, got our lunch, ate in the car, then went through again for dessert (frozen custard). We were also near Rob and Mary Linda's former house, so we drove by and reported to them that there's now a nice patch of weeds where the in-ground pool used to be. Filling it in was a condition of the sale, but it could not be completed before closing because of the wet weather. They came to a financial agreement that allowed the closing to proceed as scheduled.
-
Congratulations to DR Jane on yesterday's huge milestone!

I totally get it and personally don't have a problem with it. I remember when Hostess (the ORIGINAL Hostess) made their Suzy Q's and Ding Dongs with lard in their cream filling. It's that I make desserts for my whole family and it needs to be something that everyone will eat, and with one half of the family no longer partaking of the lard or any products made with it, it just isn't an option, anymore. :-\

Congratulations to DR Jane on yesterday's huge milestone!
Thank you.

DR DRUXY my brother watches YELLOWSTONE so I watched the episode last night.....the internet says that it was the Season Three Finale but that work has already started on Season Four.
-
Tomorrow my uncle who had a birthday last week, my cousin Michelle, my sister Paula, and I are having a pizza lunch at my house with social distancing.
My mother had an old Bible that she did not use, but it was on the shelf. After she passed away, I took it down and inside were lots of poems cut out of newspapers and little notes and receipts.....one was a tax receipt for my great grandfather from 1900.....for a grand total of $4.
There was also a note from the grandmother marking the date of my uncle's first haircut.....May 9, 1942, 8 months after he was born.
I printed out some pictures from his high school yearbook, some pictures of him with his brothers and sisters, and added the note from his mother on a matte and put it all in a small picture frame for him.
He is not a sentimental person, but hopefully he will have some reaction to it tomorrow.
-
Wow, I cannot imagine this gift not being appreciated even if he doesn't show his emotions.
-
Well done DR Jrand.
-
Well done DR Jrand.
Agreed!
-
So...anyone watching the Republican National Convention?
-
Just very brief bits.
-
The woman in the red dress who just spoke was hawking her own business during this "convention"!
WTF?? :o
-
:))
-
Good evening.
-
Congrats to Jane on her millstone!
-
I had a nice outing today. I went up north for a while. It was very hazy from the wildfires from several states. And it was hot.
-
I'll mark September 3 on my calendar so I know to expect a photo from TCB. :-)
-
I can't watch it anymore. :P
-
I'll keep the video portion on my second screen, but I'm going to listen to Sandy Bainum again...and this time, since everyone is pretty much gone, I can listen to it loudly! :D
-
Pie crusts are not that hard to make. Flour, butter, salt, and a little cold water in a food processor.
-
And if they don't like butter, use Crisco.
-
LOUD!
-
Had the Wolfgang Puck Caesar for food.
-
Rachel Maddow has been interrupting the RNC for fact checking...and has interrupted a couple of times already.
-
Congrats to Jane on her millstone!
Thanks Laura.

And now, I'm leaving work and going to Costco, then home.
Be back later.

I don’t have my food processor with me. 😿
-
Congratulations to Jane on her lofty new plateau!
-
Since I never seem to have anything else to talk about I’ll tell you what we had for dinner yesterday
-
I had a large chicken breast so I rubbed it with lemon/pepper seasoning and orange peel seasoning.
-
Then I browned it nicely on both sides in a skillet with a little butter
-
Then I let it sit on a warmed plate while I made a sauce in the same skillet with the drippings, 1 part chicken stock and one part orange juice.
-
I thickened it with a little cornstarch / water mixture.
-
Then I sliced the breast into medallions and let it simmer in the sauce
-
Sides were steamed broccoli with red pepper flakes
-
And rice pilaf to which I added some orange juice, mandarin orange slices and slivered almonds
-
Tonight we had homemade tacos, burritos and rice cooked with some jalapeños, chopped tomatoes and mild salsa
-
In other news,
-
My boss came to work today in a brace from mid shin to well above his knee and crutches
-
He broke his kneecap
-
I have not watch the RNC
-
And I have no interest or intentions in changing that situation
-
Had some McConnell's ice cream for my evening snack. Peanut butter chip.
-
It was gooooooood.
-
Listening to music by a wonderful composer named Karol Rathaus. Found him on YouTube and can't get enough.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Isn't it amazing that dear reader Jane is only 6,600-something posts away from me? I'd say that's something.
-
Did I mention I ate some ice cream?

Quote from BK
I do hope that TCB had a lovely birthday
I did, BK, thanks to the good wishes from you and all your dear readers.
-
Hello, George.
-
Sorry, but I am very upset tonight.
-
And why are you very upset tonight?
-
And is George listening LOUD?
-
Let's have a few more posts before I change the topic, really.
-
And is George listening LOUD?
After my co-workers left, I was able to listen LOUD!

Sorry, but I am very upset tonight.

Well, it looks like BK might have forgotten to start a new day of posts, even though he's posted his new notes. ::) Either way, I need to get to sleep, so I shall.
Have a good day (actually today), all!
