Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both shocking and sordid, and now it is time for you to post until the shocking and sordid cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ORDONNANCE!
-
VIBES FOR DR TCB!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Well, after 30 minutes of bullshit in which I listened to too many lies and half truths, I had to turn off the GOP convention. It was bad enough watching Donald Trump play host, as if we were watching outrageous asses performing untalented acts on "Donald Trump's gOP No-Talent Show."
-
This morning I must make that pharmacy-post office trek to the Lincoln Center area. I hope it all goes smoothly.
-
DR TCB, I'm sorry you have personal oriblems upsetting you.
-
I've finished the kitty cleanup. After I take my meds and make the bed, I'll take the recyclables to the basement and then prepare to step out.
-
Sending vibes and hugs to TCB
-
Good morning, all.

Vibes for TCB!
-
I got to sleep in a decent extra hour and a half or so this morning, for which I am most grateful. I obviously needed it.
-
Yesterday's agenda got completely screwed up, so I didn't even get close to listening to the Sandy Bainum tracks. Today should be no problem, both for that and my other listening project which is getting Assassins back into my ears and my brain and - eventually - my fingers.
-
I also blew watching the "Las Vegas" Rigoletto last night. Of course it's available until 6:30 pm this evening should I care to make room for it. But I rather think not, this time around. My other things are important. That can wait.
-
Good morning!
-
Lots of vibes for TCB.
-
Congrats, DR Jane, on your milestone!
-
Good morning, all.

I think it was a bit indelicate for a Dear Reader to discuss her large breasts on the board last night......I was triggered.
-
I ran all my errands and was delighted to get home without falling over or dropping dead in the streets. I have to say, since my mobility has made me primarily a taxi rider, I have had some of the nicest and most helpful taxi drivers.
-
Congrats, DR Jane, on your milestone!
Thanks.

VIENNA OPERA BANS BRAVOS
The latest Covid rules on the Staatsoper website require operagoers not to shout bravo after a thrilling aria for fear of spreading virus-bearing aerosols. As difficult as it is: Refrain from shouts of bravo, says the instruction. Just clap louder, it advises. And do not remove your mask.
Now, what are the chances the United States of America could ban WOO-HOO-ing?
That's what I thought.

That's great, Larry!
-
The new tracks are wonderful.
I first A/B'ed "Simply", then "This Christmas", to get an immediate sense of the difference on these individual numbers. Then I played through "It Must Be Fun", first the album and then the new tracks, all LOUD, uncompressed, on the MacBook through a Focusrite audio interface into the M-Audio BX5 monitors that serve me well. (Details provided for the reading pleasure of geeks everywhere, you know who you are.)
The tracks are beautiful. But don't think for one minute that the CDs sound like second class citizens, because they're still marvelous compared to so much that's out there. That doesn't change. The overall sound of the remastered tracks is simply (see what I did there?) remarkable.

This made me laugh today.

I'm up, again. I was up at ten dealing with some e-mails after six hours of sleep. I got another ninety minutes just now.

Bruce I think you need a High Performance Personal Air Purifier you can wear around your neck.

Enjoyed reading ChasSmith's comments.

This made me laugh today.
Thats a reminder that we live by here.

I am curious what the cases are like of covid now where everybody lives. And what are they doing for back to school.
Here in Quebec (population of 8 million) it pretty good right now. Masks are mandatory everywhere indoors (except little kids). But most kids are still wearing them. We are down to around 65 cases per day. School starts on Monday. The kids in elementary and high school will be going back in person. Masks are only mandatory grade 5 and up. And only to enter and leave school and in hallways. But not while being taught. I am really hoping that cases don't spike. :(

Only one, we shared

DR Jennifer I hope returning to school works and your number do not go up. Please keep us updated on what happens and how your nieces are doing.
I think there is a mix of results with the schools that have reopened here. Many have quickly closed.
I am thankful that, for now, Craig will not be teaching from his classroom though it is very hard on him.
-
Back from picking up a package and picking up food at Casa Vega.
-
Got ala carte: two beef tacos and one enchilada ranchera - all great - best lunch in a week.
-
DR Jennifer I hope returning to school works and your number do not go up. Please keep us updated on what happens and how your nieces are doing.
At first they said that the high schools would be partly online. But they are not doing that. My younger niece does 2 sports in the summer. Swimming (indoors) started in July. And they took a lot of precautions. 25 swimmers at time. They have a door from outside to go in with masks. Only two swimmers per lane (each starting at one side).
But for soccer (outdoors) they have been playing games against other teams in the city. So far luckily nothing has happened re: covid.
I am concerned about school. I wish they had partitions or something in between the desks.
-
Partitions would be nice. Are they wearing masks during soccer?
-
So, theyre suggesting 26 feet of separation now.
-
Good luck with that.
-
Tuesday evening greetings! At noon today I attended a lively book discussion hosted virtually by the library where my career began. As soon as that ended I went for a routine check with our family doctor. Came home for lunch, then went to my craft desk to finish a 100th birthday card for the mother of an AAUW friend.
-
So, theyre suggesting 26 feet of separation now.
Wha-a-a-at? Whos suggesting that?
-
What DR Ginny asked.
-
This made me laugh today.

Good evening.
-
One of the schools on the outskirts of town tried to hold in-person school. Most of the teachers called out.
-
Smart teachers.
-
DR VIXMOM the assumption was if you mention one - you mention them all......but you are correct only one was the subject of the posts. I stand corrected.....well actually, I sit corrected.
-
Thanks to DR CHAS SMITH for the NEW track report.
-
So, theyre suggesting 26 feet of separation now.
Wha-a-a-at? Whos suggesting that?
It was on NBC news tonight. The virus has been shown to survive st a 26-foot distance.
-
Watching AGT.
-
J.B. would like everyone to vote for him.
-
My uncle put on his glasses to look at his gift. And then he said: "Well that's Mom's writing......"
He had never seen it. He said he had the perfect shelf place for it near the photos of his pets who have gone before.....
And my sister and he and I spent about four hours talking all about things.
It was most interesting and entertaining. I'm not sure that he was interested or entertained by anything we said, but our conversations would always lead him to this tale or that - many of which we had never heard.
-
One more ...
-
Three!
-
He was born in August, 1941, so I said "That was four months before Pearl Harbor, do you remember anything about it?"
And said: "I remember everything about it, what do you want to know?" That's just the kind of funny guy he is.....
-
He drove his Smart Car over..... The first time I saw him with it, I asked him what it was.
He said: "A smart car."
I said: "How did you get it?"
And he said.......but if looks could kill.
-
Page Three.
The Vegas Golden Knights begin their Round Two games tonight starting a series with the Vancouver Canucks.
-
My uncle reminded me that my seventieth birthday was imminent.
A bit later I said: "I can't imagine being seventy......NINE!" LOL
-

We weren't even 6 feet away last night and pass people while walking much closer. We often put our masks on, depending on the situation. The amount of time exposed is also supposed to make a difference.

You have a very young uncle.

Time to leave work, so I shall. I want to do a little shopping at Costco (yes, just a little bit ;) ), then I'll head home.
Until later.

Page 3? At almost 9:15 west coast time! Great!!
-
They have no idea what distances the virus can survive and so they continue to make it up as they go along. Six feet, ten feet, twelve feet, twenty six feet - what's next. A block? Two blocks? A mile?
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Hello
-
Chatted with my son in law tonight
-
He called me to find out how to clean his oven

Were you robbed?
-
Were you really really hungry?

Hi, Vixmom and Jane.
-
Hi Jane
-
Im sorry about the way things went with Cilla on FB today

It seemed like a civil adult discourse and then ...
-
I believe I have been blocked
-
Ah well
-
The Vixter got he a man that cooks the dinners and cleans up the kitchen!
I didn't know that was a rarity these days. It is normal in our home, or was. Now Keith does most of the cooking.
-
The entire school year will be online teaching
Thank goodness.
-
We were quite relieved with that news
I know the feeling. Craig is only online until January.

Must go read Jane's page, although I suspect I can figure out what it's about.

Must go read Jane's page, although I suspect I can figure out what it's about.
Please let me know, because I refuse to go to Facebook to find out.
-
Hi, George.
-
Jane posted this video: As a Christian, Sean thinks it would be hypocritical to vote for Trump, so he's voting for Joe Biden (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3jpS1GiOas).
-
Then Cillaliz posted: This guy hasn't paid attention to all the positive things Trump has done. He sounds like a never Trumper.
-
Jane: I see very few positive outcomes from Trump's presidency--certainly not an individual I'd hold up as an example of American excellence. So, we have different filters ... or realities. However, I posted this because I've never quite understood how staunch evangelicals could reconcile their beliefs with Trump's actions, deeds, words. Thought others would find his religious-based views enlightening.
-
Vixmom: Cillaliz, could you please provide some examples, for my edification? Thank you!
-
Cillaliz: The opportunity Zones have put 75 billion dollars in private investment into inner cities, over 50 hostages have been freed from foreign countries, people who have terminal illnesses now have a right to try experimental therapies, we are on track to get a vaccine for COVID years ahead of the normal process, the Black, Hispanic and female unemployment rates were the lowest on record. The stock market has hit many many all time highs.
-
And then it goes on from there. There are a total of 33 posts in the thread.
-
Is it this political difference that has driven Cilla away, again?
-
I am feeling a little better thanks to a wonderful group of friends who are always there to lift up my spirits. Thank you.
💙
-
Is it this political difference that has driven Cilla away, again?
Possibly. :-\
-
And some good news, the newly released SACD Hybrid Multi-channel quadraphonic CDs of A Chorus Line (https://www.duttonvocalion.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=CDLK4640) and Company (https://www.duttonvocalion.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=CDLK4638) arrived today, all the way from Sweden! The company is in England, but these were actually shipped from Sweden.
-
Of course it is - it was obvious she would stay far away from here, but there is no arguing with his supporters because they believe what they're told and no matter how many facts get in the way, they will never budge. I don't care who anyone is for, but you cannot sit and dispute the lies this man has told, over and over again, you cannot ignore how incoherent he is, and you certainly cannot ignore how he mishandled the virus in the early days - you can't ignore it because it's all on tape. But there she was, defending him on Covid and how great he's handled it - and that's just blinders on, I'm afraid.
-
:(
-
I am sorry about that.
-
And then to unfriend Jane is disgusting and it typical of the fanaticism of these people. I find it noxious.
