Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the straw, and now it is time for you to post until the straw cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: IKIGAI!
-
I had to set up an account to get into the blog.

I had to set up an account to get into the blog.
So did I, and then it took me a while to remember his real last name to find his blog...and then I remembered that we're FB friends. Dopey me. ::)
-
Umm, his name is the subject in the email I sent. ;D

'night
-
Well, Jane, I'm off to bed. 8)
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Last night was not a good night of sleep. I'd like to blame it on the Fat Orange Slug squatting in the White House, but I can't.
-
I have no plans today beyond the usual apartment pickup. The cats sounded more frisky than usual after the lights were out, so the apartment needs close scrutiny.
-
Good morning to all
-
Good morning, all.
-
I never like watching some IKIGAI hitting on somebody else.
-
I love IKIGAI films - especially Godzilla and Mothra.
-
Thank you DR JENNIFER!
-
I went to the WalMart Store today.
Sunday my brother Dane and his wife Pam and sisters Paula and Molly want to come over and listen to comedy records.....
Of course I can't find them......but I was able to find a couple of them online to download. We will be listening to Allan Sherman - My Son, The Folk Singer & My Son, The Celebrity along with The First Family.
I also discovered that there was a second Vaughn Meador First Family album released in March, 1963. I had never heard or heard of it....so I have downloaded it as well.
I cannot find my LP called The Absurd Imposters by Jim Coyle & Mal Sharpe. And it's not online. They went out with hidden microphones and talked people into doing hilarious things.....saying numbers, agreeing to give them their lunch, and that they were buying a dollhouse for their gnomes to live in.....
-
I'm up, I'm up - I've been up more than I've been asleep, if you must know. I was in bed by one-thirty, tossed and turned until three, was up until four, finally slept and up at seven - three hours. Not good. Must get some sleep later when I get back home.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Friday morning greetings! I have spent the morning on communications work for AAUW. I know just enough HTML to be dangerous.
-
And it's a late one for me.
I slept in just a little beyond my normal time, then took it easy between then and now. Now I'm up and at 'em.
-
I wonder if I ever got all the way through Last Year at Marienbad in one sitting. Serious question. I saw it once at one of the revival houses years ago, but that might very well have been one of those times when I dozed off in a theater. And trust me, I've done that in front of way more exciting films. But I always made up for it by sitting through it again (because once I wake up from that little snooze, I'm fine) or by returning to see it again shortly thereafter. But this one, who knows? I have definitely started it a few times at home without making it through. It sounds like I should put that Kino on my list.
-
I'm glad Hurricane Laura isn't wreaking the havoc up north like IKIGAI did last month.
-
I don’t like the furniture at IKIGAI.
-
DR Vixmom I sent you a PM using HHW.
-
DR TCB sent you an email.
-
Jeanne & John I also sent you PM's through HHW. I thought I had both of your email addresses but can't find them.

-
Well I must hie me back to work
-
If someone can just hoist me out of my recliner......
-
The cats and I had a nice 4-hour lie-down. I nodded, but I never slept. Annabelle lay close to me. and Thatch and Stella curled up on each side of me.
-
I am not walking at all well today, and the pain when I do is really bad. I've dragged the Big Ladder out, but I haven't got the energy yet to climb it.
-
I had a nice email exchange with Singdaw - he was worried about coming back but would like to post surgery - he really stopped coming because his time got crazy busy and he felt bad about not being here every day. I told him to definitely come here to let us know how he is and to take whatever comfort he can when he feels like it.
-
Had some matzoh brei at Jerry's - only three hundred calories or thereabouts. I put gas in the motor car, went to Gelson's and got the Wolfgang Puck chicken Caesar for later, which should bring me right up to 1000 calories, my goal now every day until I lose a good deal of weight.
-
The Big Ladder was climbed and much cat food brought down. I've been down to check the mail and fed the cats. All is good.
-
DR Vixmom I sent you a PM using HHW.
Thank you!
You are welcome.

Lunch:(which I’m currently enjoying)
toasted turkey wrap with guacamole
That sounds good.
-
I am eating egg salad on lightly toasted sour dough bread.
-
Perhaps a gallon of ice cream or a bathtub of chocolate pudding
;D
I am almost out of ice cream. I could have paid too much for some today but passed.

I told him we would all be happy to have him return even if he only stopped in occasionally.

I just read a heartwarming story and watched the video that goes with it. It is extra nice to smile these days.

DR JANE I loved that video and story!
-
I did notice the parents didn't have any doggie bags with them on the way home from their walks......
-
Well my sister and I went out onto the dreaded back store room.....and we located my First Family LP, my Absurd Imposters LP, a Bob Newhart LP, my Allan Sherman My Son, The Folk Singer LP (now I don't have to burn the downloads to disc)....and about a dozen other comedy albums.....
So we should have plenty of laughs on Sunday.

Thanks. I really needed it today and am glad you too loved it.

;D Hmmm, I didn't think about that. I hope they found cans along the way to use.

That's pretty cool, Jrand!
-
Well, it's time for me to leave work and head to my parents' house.
Be back later.
-
Slept a bit while trying to watch stuff - maybe an hour.
-
I am jealous ;)
-
Had the chicken Caesar - very good. Having a few peanuts and that will be it for the foodstuffs - should be right at 1000 calories.

Do you know what I'd never heard? Verdi's Messa da Requiem, a very famous piece or so I'm told. I didn't think I was a Verdi fan but this piece is seriously beautiful and Barbirolli and his singers do it up brown. One wishes the band were a bit more present, but I liked it enough to want to get the Ormandy version, which is supposed to be incredible.
-
Now playing, something called Dido and Aeneas by someone named Purcell - we'll see if I like it. It's baroque I guess and I do like baroque. Then comes the Barbirolli Madame Butterfly with Renata Scotto - that's supposed to be a great recording.
-
It's really hot.
-
Not outside - outside it's not crazy hot - just in the house.
-
No important envelope today - hopefully tomorrow so I don't have to write an email.

Toscanini owned it. But any of the great conductors — I’m thinking along the lines of Reiner, Leinsdorf, Munch, but I can’t remember if any of them recorded it. Seems like one of them had it in the RCA Soria Series. Oh, that was Reiner. But yes, Ormandy.
-
I must have the Toscanini in the big box, which I never got through. I'll go hunt that down. But I know Ormandy will be great and sound great in that Columbia stereo.
-
I'm actually enjoying the Purcell - but I generally go for baroque.
-
What is this page three malarkey?
-
I may take a walk in a little while.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Jane, in case you didn't see the PM I sent you, thanks for the link to Singdaw's blog.
-
TOD:
I've been watching THE BRIEF, a British TV series starring Alan Davies. It's quite good. I'm sorry there are only two seasons.
-
I went to acupuncture today, then stopped for Italian take-out. The restaurant was quite busy, the busiest I've seen in since Covid started. Of course, dining outside only. That may change soon.
-
I booked a haircut. My hairdresser said that most hairdressers aren't waiting for the governor's new guidelines, they are working anyway. I think people are restless, but the last time we reopened cases shot up. Personally, I still wish to distance and wear a mask.
-
Back to THE BRIEF.
TTFN.
-
Chadwick Boseman has died at 43.
-
Let’s move on ...
-
Four!
-
Went for a short walk.
-
Not too many folks out and about, at least walking.
-
I really need a great night's sleep.
-
What is this page four malarkey.
-
It's malarkey of the page 4 variety.
-
I just saw Boseman in Da 5 Bloods. Had no idea he was filming between chemo treatments. Apparently he fought colon cancer for the last 4 years.
Sad.
-
I also really enjoyed his performance as Jackie Robinson, though the movie was a bit of old-fashioned hokum.
-
I still haven't seen Black Panther all the way through.
-
Gratuitous post No. 99!
-
Listening to an odd pandemic novel, The End of October. It's set in present times, and Putin is a villain at the same time as the coronavirus that's killing off much of the world.
-
Good night, all.
-
Jane, in case you didn't see the PM I sent you, thanks for the link to Singdaw's blog.
Did you see my response?
-
Chadwick Boseman has died at 43.
I was just checking to see if somone posted this sad news. He was way too young to have colon cancer.
-
I really need a great night's sleep.
So do I.
-

Sad.
Four years! That means he was 38 when he was diagnosed :(
-
I have been reading about the rise in colon cancer in younger people. The age for testing has been dropped from 50 to 45 but these younger people mentioned seem to be in their 30s. The young age is often a more aggressive cancer :(
-
Because of my father I was 49 when I had my first test and that was after avoiding it for two years.
-
Good evening.
-
Page 4? How nauseous!
-
R.I.P. Chadwick Boseman. Boy, that illness was a closely guarded secret!
-
Hello, nobody!
-
Today I spoke to my sister. I told her how I felt. I laid it on the line. And that was going to be it for now.
-
That was fine until she called tonight to tell me her hubby was having emergency surgery tomorrow morning.
-
The doctor called him at home at 5:45 this evening to tell him that the veins in his leg are 100% blocked.
-
The doctor was willing to assemble his staff on a Friday night to do the surgery this evening, but he refused (IDIOT!).
-
Instead he will enter the hospital tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. for emergency surgery.
-
The doctor told him it may be a six to seven hour surgery.
-
My sister repeated this whole conversation five times.
-
George has deserted us again - Phase 16 I'm sure.
-
P a g e f i v e !
-
Page four is rather irritating.
-
Page five is rather irritating but we'll survive.
-
We will muddle through.
-
We will persevere.
-
We will weather the storm whether the storm likes it or not.
-
We will be here until the cows come home.
-
Family vibes for DR TCB!

Hi, Tom.
-

Sad.
I didn't know that. Very sad. :(
-
George has deserted us again - Phase 16 I'm sure.
I have arrived...finally.
-
~~~Super Vibes of All Kinds for Tom and His Family!!~~~
-
We will muddle through.
What's the muddle in the middle?
That's the puddle where the poodle did the piddle.
;)
-
George has deserted us again - Phase 16 I'm sure.
That game gets more expensive everyday.
-
We played two games and I won the second game!
-
After I left my parents' house, I went to the Lacey Fred Meyer for some diet Pepsi for my friend Margo.
-
I then delivered it all to her.
-
Then, I got some gas because I was nearly empty!
-
Then, I came home.
-
And here I am.
-
I then delivered it all to her.
Is Margo not feeling well?
-
I then delivered it all to her.
Is Margo not feeling well?
She's fine, but she rarely goes to Fred Meyer. She asked me to get some for her because it's on sale...buy three 2-L bottles and get two for free!
-
I got me a 24-pack, which was also on sale.
-
Has anyone here watched the Kristen Bell produced Disney series ENCORE!. I have been watching some of the episodes on Disney Plus.
-
I have really enjoyed them.
-
Has anyone here watched the Kristen Bell produced Disney series ENCORE!. I have been watching some of the episodes on Disney Plus.
I saw an episode on broadcast TV, but I don't have Disney Plus, so I haven't seen any other episodes.
