I will be trying to get myself repaired today with yet two more medical appointments. Thankfully, the snow seems to have cleared out.
No need to be too concerned, DR elmore3003. One is to turn in my jugs 'o urine from the past 2 days for analysis as to why my body is producing so many stones. The other is with a Nephrologist for consulting on the best way to maintain the health and viability of my remaining kidney.
I accepted a bid from another contractor. He’s coming out next Wednesday.
Did you get the snow DR singdaw?
Well, Matthew, you’re moving. Just not the way you want yet. Hope it goes better from here.
Wednesday afternoon greetings! Richard and I have a date to try to get flu shots today. We have to go to a pharmacy, because our useless primary care practice is not making appointments "just" for flu shots.
~~~GET-IT-REPAIRED VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!
In the meantime, Halloween is coming...
:))
So there goes the Disneyland trip fund.
Do you own the refrigerator, Elmore, or does the apartment complex own it?
The apartment owns it. I got a new stove and fridge in 2012, and today the service man pronounced the fridge dead. I will be getting a new one on Friday afternoon.
:( I am sorry.
Well, at least you don't have to shell out several hundred dollars for a new one.
The service man loved Stella, who behaved quite nicely. She sat on the chest next to the kitchen areaand watched him work.
Eight years isn't a long time. :-\ I moved into my apartment 14 years ago this month(!) and was told that the appliances were new in 2004. So if that's true, mine are 16 years old and still going strong. :)
When my fridge was replaced in 2012, it was at least 32 years old.
LOL!
We always go to the pharmacy for our shots.
We have, too, in the past, DR Jane, but I was hoping to avoid such a public place this year. We survived, but the only person wearing a mask in the store was the pharmacist who took care of us. There were several other customers and a clerk - all unmasked - and the clerk was ranting and raving about how understaffed they and how overworked she is. She was right, but I didn't care to hear it. We couldn't get home fast enough.
As retirees, we didn't have to worry about losing jobs in this pandemic. So, we are actually quite fortunate that the Disneyland fund didn't have to go to living expenses.
So, I guess the little boy will be a little bit older when he goes. Maybe he will remember it.
We will be recording my first scene tonight in about half an hour.
Tonight at 9 pm. - the second episode of The Amazing Race!
I want to limp over to the Manhattan Animal Care Center and adopt 12-week old Lennox now!❤️❤️❤️
OMG. I didn't realize, or forgot, masks are not required in Ohio. I would be wearing an N95 mask for all shopping if I lived there. That is what I did here until masks were required.
Today I wore my N95 for my eye check. With my allergies (must be allergies since a cold never happened) I wanted extra protection for both of us. I find when I feel like this my resistance is down and I am more susceptible to catching something.
Appointment with the kidney specialist (the nephrologist) was alarming, in a way. Nothing specific, but I now have only one kidney, and there is a long list of things that could go wrong. The main thing is, I need to improve my chances by making a lot of lifestyle changes to lose a s--t load of weight. Which I already knew.
And now you know why we're keeping ourselves isolated. There's a lot of non-compliance here, which may be why our county is one of Ohio's hotspots.
Of course random people that I know are posting about what great, close friends they were with my friend who passed away on Monday.....
Where have they been the past couple of years?
More vibes for Singdaw. If you find a workable weight-loss program that includes enchiladas, let me know.
Well, there are three good things: you're alive, you know what must be done, and you're back with us on HHW.
Thanks for all the good wishes.
And now, I want an enchilada.
I only found out about mine a bit late. And all of the appointments for the place right near me were gone. I may try for a cancellation. Otherwise i am going early December.
DR Jane - when I was last on HHW, I was vegan. I had gotten away from that in recent years, but it seems I'll need to return to that state.
Which is really not a hardship. I found I adapted easily to that way of eating, and it agreed with me. It just takes a bit of extra planning.
I could be vegan if it included butter and heavy cream. And cheese. And meat.
First listen to a song from the new Anyone Can Whistle. Maria Friedman, like Jenna Russell in the first Sunday revival, seems into ACTING. I also found the balance off. Too much orchestra trying to drown her out.
I think I'll pass. I will say, I do like some other Yap recordings.
If you're looking for some ideas of books with a happy ending, check this out. I've read three and found four to put reservations on at the library.
Thanks. The list seems short or I am missing some of it-lol.
If anyone reads MIDNIGHT LIBRARY please let me know what you think of it.
Today Texas became the state with the most Covid cases reported, passing California by several thousand. Its also second in virus-related deaths, after New York. Our governor must be proud. The numbers have been going up by about 5,000 every day.
DR Jeanne, our wonderful super Steve Trifun, when he retired and returned to Serbia, passed the job on to his son-in-law Bosko, who was sadly not his father-in-law, and management sacked him. Val replaced him.
Still sore. And shaking to Earth, Wind and Fire this morning with the bird was no a wise idea.
I've cleaned off the top of the refrigerator, but I have no place to put anything inside it if I need to empty it. Sometimes a studio apartment is a pain in the ass when you need shelf space.
We installed our AC unit about 24 years ago. It has only needed repair three or four times, the most recent last June. We have been tossing around the idea of replacing it before it conks out for good. Personally, I think AC units should last at least 25 years, but I guess the standard is 10, which is ridiculous, in my opinion.
DR Elmore:
I'm glad to hear they "totaled" the fridge. Seriously, you don't want one that has failed to that extent. In my experience, it's extremely unlikely that they could really repair it, so I'm happy to know that they readily admitted that and are taking the correct action.
LOL!
One guy e-mailed me - he was trying to make a purchase and just couldn't figure it out - either on the site or on PayPal. Given that he was trying to purchase $800' worth of CDs, I had him call me and I talked him through it :)
Yes, but it can be so exciting!
I was the one who asked, Singdaw. I have been eating soy curls lately, but I am often not satiated.
I went to the chiropractor today, picked up some food, then settled in to review a boatload of election propositions. California has always done a very good job of providing legislative analysis on each issue, so voters have objective information on which to base their decisions. But there are always a lot of them!
I refuse to watch tomorrow night’s debate.
