Well, you've read the notes, the notes were an enigma, and now it is time for you to post until the enigmatic cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CAESIOUS!
-
First after BK
-
I have not yet clicked on the link because I fear if I do I’ll not get any more sleep
-
But the weekend is a coming
-
Happy Friday the 13th to everybody

Happy Friday the 13th to everybody
I totally forgot!
-
Topic of the Day: I recorded One Man Two Guvnors on PBS last week. That's on my DVR to watch. Last night, I recorded a documentary on HBO for my sister called Transhood, about children who are transgender. I'm now recording it to my DVD burner to make a DVD of the program.
-
And the word of the day is: CAESIOUS!
I hear tell he makes a good salad.
-
Intriguing notes. Cool that it was all figured out.
-
~~~REST VIBES~~~ for DR vixmom!
-
Here's hoping that this 2020 Friday the 13th does not bode ill for anyone here.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Joe Biden has now officially won Arizona! Fantastic.
-
The temperatures dropped and I slept quite well last night. I remember a bit of a dream in which Rob Berman and I walked up Sixth Avenue after a rehearsal at City Center, and we stopped in a liquor store where I bought two small bottles of Bacardi because the store was out of stock of the bottle I wanted. I also had a dream in which Rebecca Luker made an appearance, but I remember nothing about it now.
-
Today I will continue to proofread band parts for the Philly Pops, answer a couple of emails, and clean up whatever mischief the cats get into. That's a full-time job itself.
-
A very happy HHW birthday greeting today to Richard, the DH of DR Ginny!
-
Kitty cleanup is finished. After I make the bed I will take the recyclables to the basement and get some breakfast.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy birthday, DH Richard!
-
I did play CAESIOUS in a production of Julius Carsar.
-
I saw Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson on CBS This Morning. He's one more if-Joe-Biden-is-elected piece of crap with his head up Trump's butt. I am so sick of these Rethuglican jerks.
-
The theremin is 100 years old!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Wow. A whole lotta notes and a whole lotta other stuff to ketchup on this morning. All good stuff, pretty much, thank goodness.
-
I'm already getting a slightly late start, and must go out and do a little shopping and get my flu shot. That latter is happening a little later than I'd intended, but I definitely don't like getting it too early. So, whatever.
Once I'm back, I will get BK's LP transfer going and hope that goes well. Then I can respond to a bunch of good stuff and start feeling caught up.
-
Have a very good Friday the 13th 2020, everyone. Earnestly, sincerely.
-
Friday the 13th!!!!
-
What an interesting turn of events....most excellent sleuthing.
I also have the album in question.....but it is not where it should be, so I cannot tell if I have a STEREO or MONO version.....
It would be nice to have a CD release of it for sure.
-
DR George I enjoyed your stories from last night.
-
DR TCB I had the same experience regarding age and bikes. My older siblings had nice new 3 speed bikes they rarely used. When I outgrew my bike my parents refused to waste money on a new one for me even though I rode mine all the time. Fortunately my neighbor was able to raise the seat and handlebars, and fortunately he had the tool to do so as, to my shock, it was a German bike.
-
Throughout my childhood my mother refused to by anything from Germany as our families lost so much during the war.
-
DR Vixmom I am impressed your father built your first stereo. These days, like Bryan, he would probably build his own computer.
-
Happy Friday the 13th to everybody
We are going to Costco. Last trip I couldn't get paper towels. I hope to have better luck today.
-
Here's hoping that this 2020 Friday the 13th does not bode ill for anyone here.
Yes, our last one was in March just before lock down.
-
Changed the order of things:
I wanted to know I had that recording IN THE CAN, so I got things set up and it is now IN THE CAN, both in the recorder and on the computer. Now I must run out for a bit, go to the store and get shot -- hopefully not literally, and not necessarily in that order. When I return I'll clean it up, upload it, and then tend to these other things.
PS -- What great music this is -- and it's IN THE CAN.
-
DR Laura you must be feeling proud of your state.
-
We were watching for the news last night and I told Keith I would see it first on FB from one of our Arizona friends. Sure enough, he put it up way before the news :)
-
Friday morning greetings!
A very happy HHW birthday greeting today to Richard, the DH of DR Ginny!
Thank you, DR Singdaw, for this lovely wish for Richard. His birthday apple pie just came out of the oven and we'll have it for dessert after our steak dinner this evening. Then we're "attending" a Miami University Men's Glee Club Concert on Zoom. It was nice of them to schedule it on an alum's birthday.
-
Happy birthday, DH Richard!
Thank you, DR John G!
-
For the DH of DR Ginny,
Good morning.
-
They are testing the heat now, so I guess they are almost done.
-
The crane took 2 minutes to lift the unit onto the roof. Of course I videoed it for my grandson.
-
His mom replied: "Gaga house, crane."
My goodness... such doings!
-
I didn't know there was supposed to be birthday apple pie.
I HAVE BEEN ROBBED all my life! :D
-
Thank you, DR Jane!
-
I didn't know there was supposed to be birthday apple pie.
I HAVE BEEN ROBBED all my life! :D
Don't be too impressed, DR Singdaw. It's a Marie Callender's frozen pie - all I had to do was put it in the oven.
-
Happy Birthday, Father Richard.
I guess everyone gets a lonely birthday this year.
-
Although for some of us, it's pretty much always a quiet celebration.
-
Joe Biden has now officially won Arizona! Fantastic.
Hoo and Ray!!
Ditto!! :D
Don't be too impressed, DR Singdaw. It's a Marie Callender's frozen pie - all I had to do was put it in the oven.
But still...you had to turn on the oven and set the correct temperature and amount of time to cook it, AND make sure you take it out of the oven before it burns!!
;)
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
The crane took 2 minutes to lift the unit onto the roof. Of course I videoed it for my grandson.
Too bad he couldn't have been there to see it.
Once again Costco was out of paper towels. Thing is, we prefer the Kirkland towels to Bounty which I believe we can buy at the market. We will find out this afternoon.
-
Since we were in that section I decided to purchase TP & Kleenix. We should be good for awhile.
-
Once again they did not have Cheetos which the markets have also been out of.
-
We have a river otter in our pond, very exciting. Someone posted photos on our condo page so we walked outside and he was still there. Our best view was with our landscope-sooo cute.
-
Keith took this photo of the otter through the telescope.
Sorry, it is too large to post.
-
Back from the drugstore and two (2) supermarkets, and that was one hectic slog of a shopping trip.
Now stuffing food into my mouth because I'm practically weak from hunger.
(Hard salami sandwich with onion and spicy brown mustard on a roll. If you must know. And I feel you must.)
First thing I've eaten all day.
-
Oh. And two "full sour" pickles.
I didn't know if I'd ever had full sours, but I love half sours so I wanted to try them. They're good, but I prefer the half's.
-
Yes, the Kirklands are good. That was a happy accidental discovery some time ago.
My two basic demands when it comes to paper towels: must be two-ply, and must be what Bounty calls "Select-a-Size".
-
Happy Birthday greetings to DH Richard!
The crane took 2 minutes to lift the unit onto the roof. Of course I videoed it for my grandson.
Ahem.
Videoed for your grandson, and for ... whom else?
-
Okay, I've crammed the food into my mouth, and I must wash my hands and commence quick-editing this recording for BK, which, by the bye, in case I haven't mentioned it, is, thankfully, IN THE CAN.
-
Back from the mail place and picking up a little package. Food will be here, purportedly by one. We shall see. It's basically a free meal because of the credit from yesterday's debacle.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Hi, KevinH!
-
Good Afternoon! Friday is here. Classes are done for me - played a funeral this morning as well (and yesterday) so the extra funds will be useful. I'm still here at school finishing some things then I'll be heading home. It's suppose to rain this afternoon, we'll see what happens.
Today, the pastor decided he wants a Christmas show. Done "drive-in" in style in our church/school parking lot - which will be decorated to look like a winter wonderland. 2 shows a night for 2 nights - think "Theme Park" - songs, stories, sing-a-long (in your car) and hot chocolate and pre-packaged cookies. Finally, for a lot of us, it's something to look forward to as we won't have a school Christmas Program this year.
-
I wonder if DR ChasSmith's recording is IN THE CAN?
-
Since we were in that section I decided to purchase TP & Kleenix. We should be good for awhile.
I really hope I'm wrong, but if this pandemic thing widens, I think there may be more shortages going into this winter than we saw last March/April.
-
As opposed to IN CANNES.
-
I hate proofreading scores on a computer screen. The copyist did a good job, and I'm finding very little, but it's so time consuming juggling windows and score pages.
-
To add insult to injury the Fat Orange Slug gave a press conference. I suspect he's trying to fire up the crowds for his MAGA march on DC tomorrow. I hope there's no violence and I hope only a few of these idiot Trumpers show up.
I am fine with either size as it depends what I am using the towels for which I prefer.
Only Kroger towels at the market. I think we purchased them once and they fell apart, or that was some other off brand we got at the market. I decided to pass as we still have Kirkland towels here.
-
The market was low on things again. I read snacks are something that stores will be short of again. We got Cheetos, however, they were out of the blue corn tortilla chips I like. They only had the store brand.
I don't remember those. I used to buy towels pretty flowers on them until I read the color was bad for the environment and I went back to all white.
I believe you.
The Christmas show sounds nice. I’ll be looking for those in Louisville to take Mom to.
DR MATTHEW's Christmas program sounds like fun.
-
Happy Birthday to RICHARD....enjoy the pie!
-
I like the Select-a-Size paper towels as well. I have been using SPARKLE for a year or so and they are good.....much better than store brand....but not as thick as Bounty.
-
I am still trying to figure out why DR LAURA has a USB on her thermostat.
-
I'm sorry about your employee, DR John G. We are a small team of 10. We lost 2 to other departments in March, and due to COVID and, now, working from home, we haven't been able to replace them yet.
Nancy Walker will always be BOUNTY for me.
Oh....the internet tells me that the USB port is used to recharge the thermostat battery......
I have and prefer the Kirkland towels, too...and their toilet paper.
Just had to share. ;)
I got some Cottonelle (sp?) TP at Costco the last time and I found that the rolls are shorter (width-wise) than the standard TP size. What's that all about?? :o
Listening to N.Y. Export: Op. Jazz courtesy of ChasSmith - so much better in stereo and it's WIDE stereo at that. Even though it's LP you can tell how good it could sound from the original masters. I'll definitely transfer the reel-to-reel, which should sound great, too. But I did hear back from my Rhino licensing guy and he's looking into it and if he can do it we'll discuss what might work. They usually won't do less than 1000, which wouldn't be feasible for this kind of title, but who knows what's possible, but I REALLY want to do it :)
-
Topic of the Day: I recorded One Man Two Guvnors on PBS last week. That's on my DVR to watch. Last night, I recorded a documentary on HBO for my sister called Transhood, about children who are transgender. I'm now recording it to my DVD burner to make a DVD of the program.
The usb port is for the tech to diagnose for repairs in the future.
The thermostat is hard-wired to the unit on the roof.
Right, now I can't even imagine having to settle for it in mono.
-
but I REALLY want to do it :)
Good.
-
I always said that the AC unit runs on AA batteries. If those batteries in the thermostat run down, the whole thing won't work.
-
Which is why my battery stash in the church sound booth was always being raided.
I don't have many of those Warner albums, but the one I knew I had - 77 Sunset Strip - is, sadly, mono. Had to look, though. I might have a couple of other things, but I'll have to browse the shelves.
-
Oh .... what DR LAURA said.
I was coming to post the otter picture for DR JANE, but DR GEORGE already did.....so I will post the long shot......here's the otter picture.
DR Laura did you notice the AC units sitting on the roof in the photo? Ours is located on the ground level. A neighbor on the 3rd floor had to replace her AC using a crane.
-
Ours has always been on the ground. They had to put a platform on the roof for it.
It will be so much quieter now. The furnace is part of the rooftop package, so we won't have the noisy blower in the house any more.
-
I am glad there is a benefit to having it on the roof. It blends in from the front of the house.
Had some chips and salsa for a snack.
Singdaw, I'm on a team of 14. We had been 17 at the beginning of the year.
First, we lost a coworker to cancer. Her position will not be filled.
Then we lost a contractor who wasn't working out when the wfh conditions came into place.
We lost our director in early summer, and her replacement was just hired from our team. I don't know that her position will be replaced. Most of her work has been split among a coworker and me.
We lost a writer to another department in the summer, and she's only now being replaced. She's being replaced by a contractor who has been with our team for maybe 18 months. Will we hire another contractor? Who knows.
Then today, one of my people was promoted to another department. I want to backfill as soon as possible, but I don't know how possible that is.
Cue Ol' Blue Eyes. "That's life ..."
-
Or, that's work life ...
-
I'm really enjoying Doctor Sleep more than I thought I would. I found the book somewhat forgettable, but the movie pays homage to The Shining in good ways. Not great, but certainly enjoyable.
-
I'm watching the original, which is 2.5 hours long. The director's cut is 3 hours.
-
Good night, all.
-
I'm quite bored of looking for Blu-rays that I know are in the garage that I can't find. Not only know they're there but have JUST seen them.
-
I hate it when that happens!
Also when I can't sleep.
I thought Trump looked frightening bad today at the “press” conference. I wouldn’t be surprised if he committed suicide rather than leave the Oval Office.
-
Jane, did you have a wind storm today or tonight?
-
I watched THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE tonight on Disney. No, not the cartoon, but the live action film. No Mickey Mouse, bur it does have the dancing mops. It is much better than a lot of the Nicholas Cage movies I have seen lately. Great movie? NO. But entertaining.
-
I have watched some rather strange movies in the last few weeks. And speaking of weird, I see that BOYS IN THE BAND in now on Netflix.
-
I have to keep telling myself that today is Friday. I keep trying to make it Saturday. Which it will be shortly.
Jane, did you have a wind storm today or tonight?
Just some rain and a little wind, nothing drastic. Did you?
Well, I guess I should go to bed and read for a bit before I go to sleep. I am reading an absolutely horrible cozy mystery on Kindle. I guess that is why it was 99 cents, or maybe even free.
