Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of project 2 and a new book idea, and now it is time for you to post until the project 2 cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ZEITGEBER!
-
Congrats on the new book idea and title, BK (whatever they may be)! Can't wait to find out about it!
-
Off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Last night I feared I was becoming sick, so I turned off Robin and Marian around 8:15 and went to bed. I did not sleep well, but I no longer feel sickly, juist very tired.
-
I will continue to search for those missing mp3 files today as well as continue my proofreading.
-
Good morning to all!
-
BK, have you seen any of the other remakes of The 39 Steps?
-
Good morning, all.
-
I had a rocky night of sleep, with an irritating dream that was on a familiar theme but added nothing to the discussion. Actually, it does inspire me to look up a couple of things in old directories, so I guess it’s not a complete waste.
-
I have never heard anything by Watanabe.
And yes, it’s a bummer when a reel to reel tape turns out to be a 3-3/4. If I’m not mistaken, I have, or had, a couple of Szell/Epic ones like that.
Edit: Wrong. The couple I have are 7-1/2. It’s either something else, or the offending articles left the building long ago. So never mind. Move along, nothing to see here.
-
I’m sniffly again this morning but it’s just allergies and for the most part I get to stay inside. Thank God I’m not cleaning a garage today.
We have a heavy load of trash to cart down to the street this evening, but the reward is being rid of it so I do not complain.
-
Vibes for a successful “procedure” for DR John G. today.
-
Soon it will all be behind him.
-
We do not allow groaning at haineshisway.com.
-
Good morning.
-
Good luck to DR John G.
Remember --- don't talk when coming out of anesthesia.
-
My DH went for supplies yesterday. We should be good for quite some time. Other than taking daughter to work, we won't be around anyone.
We may gather outside for a wacky Thanksgiving with son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. I hope so.
-
Good luck to DR John G.
Remember --- don't talk when coming out of anesthesia.
Words to the wise.
(They should tape our mouths shut, for our own good.)
-
Right?
-
Last night, bk posted:
Shrimp is free.
I thought butterflies were free?
-
Good morning, all.
-
I leave in about 25 minutes.
-
Thanks for the vibes.
-
I will say the prep tastes as horrible as I remembered.
-
And yet it was also like the lemon gelatin.
-
If gelatin were made with a metallic aftertaste.
-
Bacon beer for breakfast. But of course.

Sounds like a Rauchbier.
-
Successful colonoscopy, DR JohnG!
-
Kitty cleanup is over, and I have no energy to do anything else.
-
I think I'm too late for him to see them, but
~~~SUCCESSFUL PROCEDURE VIBES~~~ for DR John G.!!!!!!
-
It sounds like DRs elmore3003 and ChasSmith need naps later today.
-
Monday morning greetings! We received news late last evening that both our son and daughter-in-law tested NEGATIVE!
Thanks for the vibes and color me relieved.
-
Thinking of DR John G and hoping for a good report.
-
Good news DR GINNY!
I was also very excited and pleased to read about DR JANE'S fine video visit last night!
-
Continued project & Book vibes for MR BK.
-
I am baking some chicken tenders for later today......
-
I like a lot of the movies of the two gentlemen mentioned in the notes....but FAVORITES....hmmmm....
Tony Curtis:
Some Like It Hot
Sweet Smell of Success
Houdini
Mister Corey
Dean Martin:
Some Came Running
Rio Bravo
-
T.O.D.
Tony Curtis' best movie was SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS, which also featured my one-time (pain-in-the butt) publicity client, Barbara Nichols.
I was never a fan of Dean Martin, but I do like the score of ROBIN & THE SEVEN HOODS.
Also, though a bit too long, RIO BRAVO is a pretty good Western.
Clark Gable passed away on this date in 1960.
I think DR TCB was talking about soap operas last week. I meant to say then that I think The Guiding Light and The Secret Storm were fifteen minutes each to begin with and shared a half hour.
-
From DR TCB:
My poor sister is freaked out that she will have to cook something to eat for my niece’s birthday.
I am glad you will can remove her concerns.
GOOD NEWS ON THE TEST RESULT VIBES!
-
I will say the prep tastes as horrible as I remembered.
Unfortunately it never gets better. Hoping for excellent news once you are home.
-
Monday morning greetings! We received news late last evening that both our son and daughter-in-law tested NEGATIVE!
Thanks for the vibes and color me relieved.
Wonderful and vibes they stay well! Bryan said he has begun to see children at the hospital, fortunately he hasn't seen babies.
-
Good news DR GINNY!
I was also very excited and pleased to read about DR JANE'S fine video visit last night!
Thank you.
-
Eureka! I finally found the missing files. What a mess.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.
-
I think there are two more remakes of The 39 Steps, neither of which I've seen.
-
I think it's high time for our Jrand to watch last week's Kritzerland show, oh, yes, I think it's high time.
-
All is well. No problems detected. Doctor thinks I can wait 10 years before the next colonoscopy.
Thanks for all the vibes.
-
Fantastic news!
-
Will mosey on over to the mail place shortly, then food, then work. But all but two of the tracks for the December Kritzerland are done and to the singers, and we'll have the other two today, so that's a huge load off.
-
10 years? Wow! I was at five, but since the cancewr, it's every yerar now, I believe.
-
Thanks for all the vibes.
I was just thinking about you and that I would find good news when I returned to the computer. Ten years! FANTASTIC! I only got five years and I didn't have any polyps.
-
Great medical news from DR Ginny!!!!!
-
Hoo and Ray... great medical news from DR John G.!!!!!
-
There's nothing quite like your first meal after you've had to go through that ordeal.
-
I always schedule it for the first appointment of the day, then go out for breakfast afterward.
-
Welcome to three!
-
I understand that the new season of The Crown is now available. I've also heard good things about The Queen's Gambit (about chess).
-
Good evening!
That is what we used to do, at least for Keith. I still need the first appointment, however, I go home and nap.
-
BK, have you seen any of the other remakes of The 39 Steps?
I saw a locally produced four-person stage version and it was really good and well done. It was funny, too...but mostly because of the staging with only four people. The script was written to have only four actors, so it was deliberate. It had a very successful run.
-
Whew!! Very good news, Ginny!
My friend Margo (who drove me) and I went to Dairy Queen. ;D
I will have to wait a little for that. i can't start taking my metformin again for another 2 days. So, I have to be careful.
A friend of mine loved it. It stars the woman who was in the new Emma. The one with the period in the title.
They never told me that I had to wait to start mine, again...at least, I don't remember them saying anything about that. :-\
-
For me it's a drive-through trip at Jack-in-the-Box for an Ultimate Cheeseburger.
To offer too much information, metformin can cause diarrhea, which can make things worse than or interfere with the prep.
That could be a serious problem.
A couple of chats ago we found out Freyja had two teeth. I wasn't happy with them for not texting me immediately. Everyone looked at me like I was nuts ;D
Yesterday I tried but failed to see her teeth. I then asked for a photo.
-
Bryan texted me in the afternoon "We're torturing the baby trying to look in her mouth. Do you really need a photo of her teeth?" :)) Of course I said no.
-
Kate just sent me a very cute photo, of a happy baby with two bottom teeth showing. I am now a happy Grammy.
-
Picked up stuff, then came home and made bow tie pasta (six ounces) with pink sauce, meat, and onions. Very good - it may have only been five ounces, actually. I've been listening to Bernstein/Mahler whilst doing other stuff. Only one track left to do, which will get done in the morning. Worked on project two a bit. I'll do a few more things, then I'll watch something.
Aw.
Watching Herzog's version of Nosferatu the Vampyre, aka the plague version. This movie isn't scary, but it sure is creepy. And brilliant. I haven't seen this in close to 40 years. But there are some images that have stuck with me all this time, images as disturbing and as mournful as those in the original.
-
Watching an early talkie version of Vanity Fair with Myrna Loy as Becky Sharp. It's not half bad, but it isn't half good either.
-
I heard from my cousin on the Isle of Man today. They don't have any covid there. Granted it is easier to shut down an island, still if anyone broke the covid rules they went to jail. Guess what, no one is breaking them.
The government is also giving a stipend if people need to quarantine, after returning home, in a location different from other household members. That way not everyone had to quarantine.
I want to go to the Isle of Man.
;D
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!
-
The Isle of Man sounds intriguing.
-
Elmore, I got an email today that says that the next two Broadway tour shows have been postponed: My Fair Lady and Tootsie.
Postponed, so no refund.
I think that leaves one show left this season.
-
Good Evening. Today - all the grades are back in school. Some students still opted out to stay home, but it was nice seeing everyone again.
Packing continues. Tomorrow I get to go get blood drawn for some blood work - hooray. Looking forward to a week off next week even though it will be "moving" week.
-
The Isle of Man sounds intriguing.
I certainly wouldn't mind a visit to The Isle of Men Man.
;)
-
I wonder if they sing "Brotherhood of Man" on the Isle of Man.
-
Or if there are idle men on the Isle of Man.
-
Good night, all.
-
In July, my friend Kelly Peterson (Oscar’s widow), bred her three year old boxer, Lena. After an initial heartbreak, she ended up adopting one of the puppies. So, here is the official debut of eight-week old Tillie.
I have no idea why the photo is sideways?
Gratuitous Post #100!
I have no idea why the photo is sideways?
Interesting. When I saved the picture to my computer, it was the right way up.
-
Let's see if re-uploading it will do the same thing...
-
I understand that the new season of The Crown is now available. I've also heard good things about The Queen's Gambit (about chess).
We binged both if those already
-
The Queens Gambit was very good
-
Charles came off exceptionally badly in Season 4 of The Crown
-
Nope. I even changed the file extension from .jpeg to .jpg. Maybe if I modify the image in some way and resave it.
-
There we go! Such a sweet puppy! Uploaded three times for no real reason other than because! ;)
Hi, Vixmom.
-
Good news for Laura’s son and daughter-in-law
-
And good news for John G
-
We had terrible weather here yesterday
-
Torrential rain
-
Lightening
-
And now, I need to finally leave work and go home! I've just been dilly-dallying for far too long and need to get going!
Be back later.
-
And winds of up to 70 mph
-
We could hear metal crunching noises that sounded expensive so Vixdad went out for a look
-
Several rows of aluminum siding had come loose from the side of the garage
-
So he went out in the rain and wind and put it back on
-
While doing so he was pelted with some roof shingles
-
So today he climbed up onto the roof and replaced those
-
I'm thinking about upgrading to Big Sur, the new Mac OS - I never did Catalina because of the iTunes thing. So, can someone who DID go to Catalina tell me where all my iTunes music will be and how to access it - one thing Big Sur allows you to do is download the older version of iTunes, which is nice but I want to make sure I don't lose all those songs.
-
The Isle of Man sounds intriguing.
I have been twice and enjoyed my time there very much. I just wish I could have stayed longer. My cousin is the daughter of my mother's favorite aunt. My mother often spent time there as a child and as an adult though I never got to go with her.
Sweet pup and nice photo. I am sorry about her heartbreak though confused as to why she would have to adopt one of her own puppies.
-
I have no idea why the photo is sideways?
Since I am using my tablet I just turned it sideways to see the photo.
-
Charles came off exceptionally badly in Season 4 of The Crown
Keith commented on Philip looking bad in the first episode. We still have the others to watch. I expect Charles to look bad.
-
The Queens Gambit was very good
I will suggest to Keith we watch it.
-
Just to know you could fix it. Your accomplishment is appreciated.
-
Good news for Laura’s son and daughter-in-law
Did you mean Ginny or did I miss something?
-
And winds of up to 70 mph
Oh my. Is everything ok? Never mind. I am glad Vixdad was not injured by falling roof tiles.
-
Nope. I even changed the file extension from .jpeg to .jpg. Maybe if I modify the image in some way and resave it.
Thank you, George, I have never had a photo do that.
-
Mine is still saved correctly.
-
Good news for Laura’s son and daughter-in-law
What did I miss about Laura’s son and slaughter-in-law?
-
We are having a windstorm tomorrow.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Yikes! :o I hadn't heard that.
-
Of course, I wasn't looking for weather information, so there's that. ;D
Am I miss-using the word adopt? She decided to bring Tillie home from the breader, after her pick of the litter died suddenly, just days before she was going to bring the puppy home. What should I have said instead of adopt.
-
Yikes! :o I hadn't heard that.
Just gusts 40 to 55 mph.
Well, I am sure you wouldn’t live on the Straights.
-
It was eighty-eight degrees here today.
-
Well, I am sure you wouldn’t live on the Straights.
Me?? Of course, not!
-
Go know.
New notes are up.
I'm up.
