Well, you've read the notes, the notes had rim shots, and now it is time for you to post until the rim shot cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CAMPESTRAL!
-
So, Tom had sent me an e-mail, asking if I could post pictures of his two new cats, and I can...and I will! Here's the first!
-
Here's the next...
-
And the last of the three!
-
George, I was looking for a menu for Eagan’s, but I found one for Eagan’s Westside, which I assume is the same company. On their menu it says the hot dogs are like $4.89 and six something and then it says the chili cheese dog is $15.03! WTF?
-
And the last of the three!
Thank you, George. I don’t know what I was doing wrong.
-
And the last of the three!
Thank you, George. I don’t know what I was doing wrong.
I had to resize them so that they were under the maximum file size of 192KB per picture.

No, the Eagan's on the Westside is different. They used to be owned by the same Eagan family, but different generations split off the franchise and did their own things...they're similar, but not exactly the same.
-
Here's the website for the Tumwater Eagan's:

But $15.00 for a chili dog? What are we living in L.A.?
-
But $15.00 for a chili dog? What are we living in L.A.?
Yikes! :o That is much too much! I've never been to the westside Eagan's, so I've never had theirs. The Tumwater Eagan's only charges $8.06.

Still a lot for a relatively minor upgrade. A couple of spoons full of chili and maybe a quarter worth of cheese.
-
Good night.
-
Tom, if you ever decide to come down here to try out Eagan's, let me know and I'd love to join you...appropriately distanced, of course. :)
-
Good night.
Good night, Tom.
-
Yesterday, I brought my work laptop home with me because I need to do some work today. It's the end of the month cut-off for the paying of our invoices and normally, we get them electronically, but for a couple of weeks, they never came into our computer system, so I have to manually enter all that information. :P So, I'll be working today. Fortunately, I can watch TV while working, so that'll be good. :)
-
But now, sleep.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, everyone.
-
~~~FIRST-CUT VIBES~~~ for bk and Marhsall!
-
LOVE the kitty pictures from DR TCB (thanks, DR George!)
I can't remember if they are siblings. They certainly look it.
How do you tell them apart?
-
Good morning, all!
-
Thanks for posting DR TRCB's photos of his cats, DR George!
-
Last night's nocturnal rumpus was a fight between Annabelle and Stella around 3:30. Someone - I suspect Stella - played too hard and the other emitted a truly loud scream of pain before she jumped off my bed and ran (I suspect) to the bathroom, hotly pursued by the other
-
DR TCB, Thatch talks quite a bit, but the noise he made two nights ago was out of the ordinary soft, high-pitched little chatter he does during the day. Annabelle used to be quite a talker, but she has a deep, Lauren Bacall voice.
-
Today is an Oh, Boy! day as soon as all the usual tidying is out of the way.
-
Good morning to all.
-
BK, there are recordings and a DVD of two other Saint-Saens operas. The OP Henry VIII recording is outrageously expensive on Amazon, but you might find it in another country if you wish to pursue it. I've known about the DVD for some time, and it's been on my wish list.
I know nothing about his Renaissance courtesan opera Proserpine, but I'm curious. I plan to download a vocal score and examine it.
I don't know his Requiem, but I am quite fond of his Christmas Oratorio.
-
Bernie is indeed everywhere!
-
RIM SHOT!
-
TWO
-
Good morning, all.
-
The Bernie on Melania’s dress is very funny.
-
Congratulations on you big win, TCB!
-
Sad news about both Bob Avian and Gregory Sierra yesterday. Now I see that Larry King has died.
-
Congratulations on you big win, TCB!
I forgot that!
Ditto!
-
Continued project vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
Nice kitties DR TCB and thanks to DR GEORGE for posting the photos.
It was nice of you to split the dough re mi DR TCB.
-
Well I have had it here.
I don't read anything here that I agree with nor do I feel as if my posts are even read by anyone.
It's a complete waste of time - so GOODBYE......FOREVER!
-
Okay, I changed my mind.
I just got mixed up. I decided I was wrong and now I'm back.
-
Did you miss me?
-
I did, JRand. Glad you’re back.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Boy, that was quite the rough patch we went through with DR Jrand70 back there.
I think we can breathe a collective sigh of relief that that’s behind us.
-
Congrats to TCB on his winnings, and thanks for the kitty pictures!
-
Saturday morning greetings! It's Day 2 of the virtual ALA Midwinter and I'm waiting for the live stream of a talk by Ali Stroker.
-
Kevin McCarthy's inane comment that we are all responsible for the events of Jan. 6 got me thinking about England's 1605 Gunpowder Plot and the outcome of its conspirators. They were executed for planning to blow up Parliament. Is Trump's attempted coup our equivalent? I wouldn't mind seeing a lot of GOP fools in the House and Senate executed for treason along with Trump.
-
I've been to the basement with the recyclables and picked up yesterday's mail. My first 1099 arrived from City Center, and the cats got new kitty dishes.
-
Welcome back, DR JRand70!
-
In my high school years I listened to a lot of radio, and one new discovery I’d always fondly recalled was a late night call-in show that I enjoyed listening to and falling to sleep by. Years later I found Larry King’s speaking style and personality reminding me of that show’s host, but it wasn’t until even later that I researched it and learned that it would indeed have been him, because he got his start in south Florida — even before I was tuning in, which would have been somewhere in the 1965-1967 time frame.
-
I've been to the basement with the recyclables and picked up yesterday's mail. My first 1099 arrived from City Center, and the cats got new kitty dishes.
Oddly, I first read that as “I’ve been to the basement with the deplorables...” !!!
-
Glad DR Jrand70 is back.
-
It's cold here today - around 15. Yesterday was around 0.
-
So I'm not sure if I'm going to get out for a walk today.
-
But I have another (although smallish) grocery order arriving today. This time the window is between noon and 2PM.
-
Which is much more civilized.
-
A very short playlet (not mine):
-
RIM SHOT!
-
Since DR George is not here at the moment...
-
I will just say.... since we're so close....
-
THREE!
-
I've been following Debbie Wileman on FB. She is a great singer in her own right, but also does impressions.
Here's Judy Garland singing "As If We Never Said Goodbye":
T.O.D.
Years ago, I saw an Equity Waiver production in Hollywood of THE DESPERATE HOURS, a play I'd seen as a kid with the Road Company in Seattle. I've also seen the move many times.
Don Dubbins played the father in the Waiver production, and in the climatic scene where he confronts the lead convict (Humphrey Bogart in the movie), he did not have a gun.
Another actor had, accidentally, taken it off-stage with him.
So, now Dubbins had to face the lead convict and ask him to "please, leave my house".
It played okay, but knowing the show, I felt so sorry for Dubbins, the actor.
-
Watching an odd Bette Davis noir called Deception. Set in the classical music world after WWII. Paul Henreid and Claude Rains co-star. Will she kill for love? Or merely play the piano?
-
Could Bette Davis play the piano? If not, she's faking it very well. Better, say, than Cary Grant playing the harp in The Bishop's Wife -- and he was supposed to be an angel!
-
TCB, congrats on your win.
-
So, Tom had sent me an e-mail, asking if I could post pictures of his two new cats, and I can...and I will! Here's the first!
Sweet. I was hoping his email was a photo.
-
Here's the next...
Beautiful!
-
And the last of the three!
I do hope they are playing.
-
Did you miss me?
;D Were you just checking we read your posts?
-
Bette Davis learned to play piano as a kid, and she did play the Beethoven Apassionata for the movie, but it was dubbed over by a pro.
-
Good Morning. Errands today. It's suppose to rain all day tomorrow, which means "Drive-in" style Mass in the morning. I'm in charge of the sound - we are using an FM Transmitter for the first time. I'm a little nervous, but it will be what it will be I suppose.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep, was up at ten-thirty, but had to shave and shower and answer e-mails. I shall now be on my way to see the first cut of project one.
-
Out of a hot bath, which just what the doctor ordered.
-
Well, Amazon today recommended I get a whole slew of cast albums that I already have. How fun is that? And why would Amazon recommend Howard Keel and Danielle Darrieux in Ambassador? Did anyone ever recommend Ambassador?
-
Besides, I already have it.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Nice photos, DR TCB ! Thanks for posting them, DR George!
-
Adventures in Target. Should have brought a paper bag in to breathe into. Almost lost my cool. I guess the best thing about wearing a mask in a store is that no one can see you mumble.
-
I just loved Jimmie Rodgers and wish his career had been longer. Monday he died of kidney disease and he had also tested positive for Covid-19.
Snowing...
-
It's a long way to page 4.
-
Longer than I can trek alone.
-
Well, perhaps not so long.
-
Just a little push.
-
A nod and a wink.
-
And, as if by a miracle...
-
FOUR!
-
And I ain't talking about golf!
-
It is 48 degrees and sunny here, a beautiful afternoon. It also means the walking path is filled with people walking, jogging, and bicycling. Most of them think it is ok to be outside without a mask. True, unless it is crowded.
Walter Bernstein, who wrote The Front based on his own experiences, has died at 101.
Great story from his obituary:
As a roving correspondent, he covered the brutal campaigns in Sicily and Italy. He also tramped a week over mountains in German-occupied Yugoslavia to obtain one of the first interviews by a U.S. newsman with the anti-fascist partisan revolutionary Josip Broz Tito.
The expedition to reach Tito, the future Communist strongman, was arduous but not without its cheerier moments. Mr. Bernstein recalled the partisans teaching him their patriotic marches, and they wanted him to reciprocate with rousing American songs. Stumped, he said the best he could do was “Buckle Down Winsocki,” from the Broadway musical “Best Foot Forward,” set in a military academy.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
A bit of rain (!!) here. We REALLY need it.
-
I've been doing a little laundry and cleaning. I've always washed my hands a lot, but since Covid I really go through hand towels quickly.
All these years at HHW and I never knew the history to that famous phrase. I should have known.
-
TCB, how are you doing? Are you getting the health care and equipment you need?
Vibes that you do.
-
TCB has THREE cats now? I knew of the second one, but not the third.
Thanks to TCB and George for the photos.
-
And congrats to TCB on his casino winnings. Very nice!
John G, are you feeling better today and over your shingles reaction? I do hope so. What a bummer.
-
TTFN.
-
Back from seeing the first cut -more about that in the notes, but it was really good.
Great Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane song.
I am feeling better. Tiny bit of fever, 99.1, and still tire easily. But I see an end to this. Thank you.
-
Just watched episode six of All Creatures. I'm really enjoying this show. It's about people. Go figure.
-
While I was watching, I ate some of the leek and lentil gratin I made today. Wonderful vegetarian dish, and the house smelled heavenly when the leeks were cooking.
-
And now to have a slice of pie, because it is National Pie Day. Not Pi Day, which is another chance to have pie -- not that I need a special occasion to have pie.
As Jerry Herman once wrote:
Light the candles,
Get the pie out,
Roll the rugs up.
It's today!
I am glad the worst of it is over. Keep improving.
Thanks to TCB and George for the photos.
I believe that was three photos of two cats.
RIM SHOT!
-
We watched the movie about Bette Davis as a pianist (thanks, DR John G.!) and then the original Wuthering Heights.
My goodness, there have been so many versions!
-
Glad things went well with Project One, bk.
-
Many creative things to look forward to!
And...
Since we're so close...
FIVE!
Gratuitous Post #121
-
Good night, everyone.
-
Good evening. I think I'm ready for the "drive-in" mass tomorrow. Hopefully all my connections are right. Game Night on Zoom this evening. Enjoy the evening!
-
Glad you liked Deception, Singdaw. What a great cast.
-
I just finished Beau Travail, a 1990s take on Billy Budd, but set in the French Foreign Legion. It's a visually stunning movie with some great performances. There are certain scenes of the soldiers training in which the director used selections from Britten's Billy Budd for the background. The final scene is a dance in a 1990s club and it conveys such a sense of liberation, whether the character wants to be free or not and whether the scene is real or a dream.
Well, I've gotten some work done, but I still need to do some more.
-
I got all the invoicing done for the month, but now I'll finish out my time by importing some fully cataloged bibliographic records from OCLC into our computer system. I'm sure that Ginny know what that is. :)
Wow! 101 years old!
Criterion has about six hours of extras on Beau Travail. I've just decided I have had enough.
-
So, I'm off to bed.
-
Hi , I’m still alive
-
Thank you George for posting TCBs pussenkat pictures
-
Congratulations TCB on a lovely casino win
-
I was disappointed to learn I didn’t win the 1 billion dollar lottery
-
I had extensive plans for that money
-
Perhaps if I had bought a lottery ticket...
-
Finalizing the last few mixes and getting them to the editor. That's been most of this evening. Now listening to Benjamin Britten's haunting War Requiem.
-
Congratulations to BK in finishing his latest book
-
I look forward to hearing more about it
-
Thank you George for posting TCBs pussenkat pictures
You're welcome, Vixmom, and everyone else who thanked me for posting Tom's pictures. :)
Enjoy ynhe drive-in mass.
Hi , I’m still alive
Yay :)
-
Bruce did you read the Rolex story or just the headline? While I didn't care for the headline, and felt the story was lacking a bit, I did find Biden's watch collection interesting.
-
I can't read the NY Times. From everyone's posting about it and the reaction to it, it seemed like another Times hit piece of criticizing Democrats.
-
My apologies. My back was really bothering me tonight, so I took my pills and I just woke up.
LOVE the kitty pictures from DR TCB (thanks, DR George!)
I can't remember if they are siblings. They certainly look it.
How do you tell them apart?
Sometimes, I can’t.
Ultimately, does it really matter? ::)
Today, I got all of the invoicing done, so that's good.
-
I didn't get all of the importing of bibliographic records, but that's not as urgent, so that can wait until Monday.
-
Or maybe, I'll work on that after I get back from my mom's tomorrow...we'll see.
