Well, you've read the notes, the notes were of the get it, got it, good variety, and now it is time for you to post until the get it, got it, good cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EMPATHY!
-
Sorry I missed posting last night! I was watching the Three Hotels - Streaming Event (https://youtu.be/ftAMYTsqDlM) on YouTube:
Two-time Emmy Award winner Bobby Cannavale and Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei are set to star in a streamed reading of Jon Robin Baitz’s lauded and deeply stirring play Three Hotels.
The special evening, which benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, is produced by Tectonic Theater Project and directed by celebrated two-time Tony Award nominee Moisés Kaufman.
The free streamed reading, set for 8 pm Eastern on Tuesday, January 26, will include a special introduction by Baitz and Kaufman. It can be watched here and on Broadway Cares’ YouTube channel. It will be available through Saturday, January 30.

Well, I just checked my e-mail and Tom had sent me another picture of his cats. This has better lighting:
-
Cute! ;D
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Love the kittehs! Thanks for posting, DR George, on DR TCB's behalf.
-
Good morning, everyone.

-
Good morning, all!
-
I love the cats! Thanks, DR George.
-
I slept rather well last night. I remember that I had a couple of interesting dreams but I remember nothing about them now.
-
The blu-ray news about The Court Jester will really excite the cats. They love the film, and it was featured in my Christmas story.

I'll just bet this suitcase is jam-packed.
-
I've got little planned today. I got Dr Glickman's referral for the PSA test, so I need to call the lab on East 77th and see if I can just come in or if I need to make an appointment. I'll aim for tomorrow or Friday.
-
I've put all three dates for Tonight's the Night on my calendar, but it looks as if the best for me is Sunday at 8:00; the other two viewings begin at 9:00, and that's around the time I prepare for bed.
-
I'll just bet this suitcase is jam-packed.
Get the hook!

I've been looking for an illustrator for my Annabelle and Thatch book, and I think this man might be good. I sent him an inquiry yesterday.

I like the idea, DR elmore3003.

Happy Birthday, Wolfgang!
OK. Well, this cake is for a dog named Mozart.
But still.

TOnight's THe NIght!
This should be fun!

Cold today but snow to the SOUTH of us.

Graziella who works at the copy store put this on her Facebook:
"Yesterday this guy comes in and says he wants his stuff double sided. I say sure. I asked my friend Velma and she said ALL of our paper is double-sided. We don't have any single sided paper. So I did it regular. I and Velma ain't dumb!"
-
I watched The Nutty Professor with Mr Jerry Lewis last night. I used to think this movie was very funny......I don't think the movie changed.

LOL!

Yesterday, I received an order of 18 paper towel rolls in a huge Bounty carton. When I unpack it in about ten minutes and turn it over to the cats, this apartment will be euphoria central.
-
Good morning, all.

Wearing the mask while walking seems to help. No allergy problems last night.

Good morning, all.

Beautiful picture of the feline contingent at Chez TCB. They look very contented!

I believe my "at" in the preceding post is redundant. But damn it to hell, this is the United States of America and it just doesn't look right without it.
-
So, we had a little bit of excitement here yesterday afternoon.
Nathan had to go out but the car wouldn't start. Battery's up for replacement anyway, so he decided to jump start it and replace it today or tomorrow. He was going to use my car to jump it, but I said don't bother doing that now (it had started snowing), just drive my car instead. He started out, then had to stop for a moment in front of the house to get something. The driveway is sloping downward there and he set the hand brake, made sure the car was standing still, and got out. A few seconds later the car began rolling. It was very slow and gentle because the hand brake was *mostly* holding it, but there was no way to jump in and stop it before it nestled itself into the trees.
Here's where it rolled itself to a stop.
-
And here's what it took today to get it out.
-
AAA couldn't do it. Because of how and where it was sitting, it required a "rotator" to safely lift it out. This costs their minimum $1,200, which will be covered by insurance and partly by AAA (because if they can't complete a rescue operation themselves, you can submit for reimbursement).
These are the guys who are called out when eighteen-wheelers are down, so this kind of thing is a walk in the park for them. Next, they take it to their place and inspect it for damage, and then we do whatever we need to do. It looks like there's no mechanical damage, just a front "apron" that needs to be replaced. But we shall see what we shall see. Right?
-
And that, ladies and germs, is my Show & Tell for the day :)
-
WOW DR CHAS SMITH - that is excitement indeed!
-
Thanks for the photos.

Wow, ChasSmith. Just wow.
I wouldn’t even want to watch from an inside seat by the fire/heater.
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings! Our great (or grand) niece Norah arrived at 2:55 this morning!
-
Oh, my, DR ChasSmith, that's enough excitement for an entire winter! I'm glad Nathan's OK and the car damage seems to be minimal.
-
Love the kittehs! Thanks for posting, DR George, on DR TCB's behalf.
My pleasure!

I'm glad it worked! Sometimes when I reduce pictures on my computer (as opposed to my tablet or phone), the file size is still too large, but this time it worked the way we all wanted. :)

Wednesday afternoon greetings! Our great (or grand) niece Norah arrived at 2:55 this morning!
Congratulations on the birth of your grand niece Norah!
-
DR Chas I had to wait to read about your "adventure" and see the photos on my computer. Wow! Having lived on a similar road I am surprised your car just couldn't be pulled out. I guess we were very lucky when sliding on ice put us into almost the same position. Vibes insurance will cover most of the cost.

Listening to operettas by Andre Messager. They're fun in their way.

About to have some hot dogs, then I'll proof some pages.

I love his three biggies, Veronique, Monsieur Beaucaire, and Les P'tites Michu! He also wrote a nice opera, Fortunio, and conducted the first performance of Debussy's Peleas and Melisande.

Good afternoon!
-
Nice photo of your kitties, TCB (and George)!
-
Looking forward to "Tonight's the Night," BK!
-
I hope everything turns out okay re your car, DR ChasSmith!
-
I have been changing medical appointments for two weeks after my second covid vaccination.
-
Out of caution we had moved our teeth cleaning from January to May, not it is in March. My yearly check-up has been postponed for the second time.
-
The only one I don't dare change is the dermatologist, and now we don't know if she will be back to the office by then & they might postpone us to the PA.
-
Back to seeing what else I need to change or now feel safe to book.

~~~CONTINUED THIRD-PART-OF-THE-MIRACLE WAITING VIBES~~~ for bk!!
If you click & enlarge the photo you can see how beautiful they are, also the differences between them.
The main one being that one cat has a patch of white on its nose, which is helpful, I think.
Congrats to DR GINNY!
Major Miracle Vibes for MR BK.
Full moon tonight and Mercury retrograde begins on Saturday so communication and electronics get wonky......so everyone batten down the hatches.
-
And now it is snowing here - and has been for about three hours.
I can't see my grass OR the street and sidewalks.....but the trees are pretty.
-
Lisa at Dr Taylor's office called and said my partial partial will not be ready on February 4......so I have been rescheduled for February 8....once they see that it works, I guess they take it back for a bit to put the choppers in.
DR JEANNE I am just doing the bottom right now because the $$$ come out of my pocket. My top teeth only have a few problems....I have to lose four of them on the side.
I can do that later in the spring......if I find the spendable money....well money that I am comfortable spending.
-
Cloris Leachman.....dead you know.
-
One of my favorite sitcom scenes EVER was when CL as Phyllis arrived late at Rhoda's wedding having completely forgotten she was supposed to pick up the bride.....
"Well.....you know how long it takes to properly coordinate your accessories!"
-
I guess we were very lucky when sliding on ice put us into almost the same position. Vibes insurance will cover most of the cost.
What you can't tell from that picture is how far down the slope the two right wheels were, and how uneven and rocky the ground is. Pulling it out would have been unacceptably risky to the axles and undercarriage. Even a traditional "wrecker" with pulley and hook could not have properly maneuvered the car in that location. One might ask (and we did) why it can't simply come out the way it went in, but it doesn't always work that way.
-
By the sea, DR Jrand70... you can bring along your chopper.
-
Of course, Miss Saigon's chopper has nothing on yours.
-
Sad to hear about Cloris Leachman.
And for whatever reason, I never even imagined she could be 94. What a (I hope) great life.
-
Cloris Leachman.....dead you know.
I did not know :(
Hello, everyone.
-
I spent about twenty minutes on hold this morning, trying to get another ultrasound appointment, only to learn that the referral hadn't been approved yet. sigh. The surgeon said he needed another ultrasound. What's not to approve??
Very nice. I can now understand the comments about the two kitties looking a lot alike.
Glad to hear it. My acupuncturist told me that lots of patients come in complaining about allergies. She's now advising them to wear a mask when outdoors.
And here's what it took today to get it out.
Oh, dear.
Wednesday afternoon greetings! Our great (or grand) niece Norah arrived at 2:55 this morning!
Happy Wednesday. I always find it more challenging to do my job when I have to rely on others to send me things in order to do my job. But, I'm staying positive. I was going to do some recording this eve but it seems that I left my iPad at school with all my music on it. Looks like that will be saved for tomorrow. But it will get done. Been wearing my video hat lately, and dealing with those who have no clue on how a video is put together. Patience - it's coming in handy!
Welcome to the world, Norah!
Hey, let’s make mac and cheese with Lucky Charms!
It has been years since I have had a comfy winter robe. Today my very soft petite robe arrived from LL Bean. I had to wait over a month for it. Petite so the arms are not too long. I went with medium for extra room.
I love it.
My robe.
My first choice in color was sold out. As this was my second choice, and the only color option left, I did ok. Plus I got a good sale price.
-
I like a good sale price. And I like the color.
-
Thank you. The back order date was changed so often I wondered if it would ever arrive.
How funny! I ordered the same style robe a year or two ago in taupe. I loved it in the photo, but, unfortunately, it just didn't fit me right somehow and I sent it back. Mine was a medium, also. I'm glad yours is a good fit and it's a lovely blue. Many happy nights wearing it!
I am sorry, and that you need another ultrasound.
The technician and I are old friends now. :)
-
Nice threads, DR Jane!
-
Jeanne I am sorry the robe didn't fit you. I know the only reason this fits is that it is a petite, otherwise it would be too long.
-
Watched the first forty minutes of Da Five Bloods - not really my kind of movie but was happy to see friend Norm Lewis is one of the five, although of the five he has very little to do so far. I read one review that said the film runs two hours and thirty-five minutes and doesn't seem a minute too long. I thought it felt long in just forty minutes, so, go know.
-
Good night, everyone.
And now, I need to leave work and head home.
Be back later.
I have told this story here before, but in light of her death, I'm repeating myself.
The funniest interview, bar none, I ever did was with Cloris Leachman. She was touring in a one-woman show as Grandma Moses, and I had a half-hour with her on the phone. She immediately asked me if I wanted the G-rated interview or the X-rated one, and I told the X, of course. She shouted "Oh, goody" and launched into a standup routine that was indeed filthy and so funny it had me gasping for air at times. I wish I had a recording of it. I don't really think I got many questions in because she was very much like Robin Williams, one idea fed into another. Sometimes they built into a snowball. Other times, they just bounced all over the place.
We never really talked about Grandma Moses. Or Phyllis Lindstrom. Or Frau Blucher. And it didn't matter. I wrote a story. I used one or two cleaner quotes, though not in quote marks, and I walked away with a great memory.
-
Good night, all.
Did anyone else see the video on the news that was taken at a shall we say a higher elevation in the heavy snow. A pickup skids across the center line and knocks a car coming the other direction off the edge of the cliff. All of it done in the usual slow motion of sliding vehicles.
-
Well, I just checked my e-mail and Tom had sent me another picture of his cats. This has better lighting:
If you click & enlarge the photo you can see how beautiful they are, also the differences between them. Which is which?
The kitty on the left is Sasha, which makes the kitty on the right, Draco.
