Well, you've read the notes, the notes did not have teeny-tiny titles, and now it is time for you to post until the teeny-tiny cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MELLIFLUOUS!
-
And the word of the day is: MELLIFLUOUS!
Isn’t that a Disney film starring Angelina Jolie?
-
Well, today is my new supervisor's first day in the building. He actually started last week, but was teleworking from California, where he's coming from. We had a Zoom meeting last week, and he seems nice...so far. ;)
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Another night of strange dreams. The night before last I dreamed I was living in an apartment where a poltergeist kept moving the furniture. It could have been a nightmare, but my memory is that I was just irritated. Last night I had a long dream in which I help an Eskimo family relocate to Kieve!
-
I had another dream in which I was looking at music books and magazines deep in the basement of the old Miami University Library.
-
Today I will be printing Amazon invoices. A friend on Facebook told me where to look on the NY State Employment site to download my 1099, so I am happy to have that.
-
On the bad news front I just received the Ohio property tax bill for my third of the taxes for the first half of 2021: $842.14, an increase of $70 over last year's. That goddamned property will never sell.
-
Good morning, everyone.
-
Second stage of kitchen clean-up is completed.
-
And today is back to work for the likes of me.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Just got JABBED.
I got me some Pfizer.
Sitting here at Danbury Hospital for fifteen minutes, then in 21 days I get to come back and do it again.
-
There was only one harassing email this morning, so I'm hoping the ass is back on his meds.
-
Just got JABBED.
I like me some Pfizer.
Sitting here at Danbury Hospital for fifteen minutes, then in 21 days I get to come back and do it again!
Like that damned Ohio property, I'm starting to think I'm never getting the Covid-19 vaccine. My HMO is providing it, but they're out. No Walgreen/Duane Reade in my area (25 mile radius) claims to have it. Fuck it.
-
Good for you, DR ChasSmith!
-
Sorry, DR elmore3003.
-
Vaccination vibes for DR ELMORE.
Congrats to DR CHAS SMITH for getting jabbed......I am still about a month away.
-
Well we ended up with about 9"-11" of snow - and I am just incapable of shoveling.....I don't know what my poor mail person will do. I feel very bad.
-
On the spot report from 46158.
You can barely see the tops of my yard lights......my unseen carport is beside the house......in front of my neighbor's Kia.....

That's awful. I don't know why the situation is so horrible in NY.
Yesterday a friend who lives near Newburgh NY, way up here on the Hudson River, said he'd just gotten back from Aqueduct Racetrack where he got his vaccination. That's near JFK airport, a driving distance of 80 miles. I said what the HELL?? His reply:
"Closest state-run location I could get when I booked the appointment (my county’s sites had long been filled). I would have preferred Albany, drive-wise [that's 88 miles], but this turned out fine. Very quick, no crowding or lines whatsoever."
My drive just now was less than four (4) -- count 'em -- miles, and the process was as smooth as anything gets.
-
I think I may cancel my 4 p.m. dental appointment.....or maybe they will call me.....I'll wait until noon or so to see what happens.
-
Well we ended up with about 9"-11" of snow - and I am just incapable of shoveling.....I don't know what my poor mail person will do. I feel very bad.
OMG, DR Jrand70! That's normally the kind of thing I'd be reporting from right here in Happy Acres.
But we were REALLY lucky this time. The mass of wintry mix that we were threatened with skirted right to the west of us, and we only got a little bit of sleet around five in the morning. I'd gotten up to use the bathroom and just then I heard it starting. I didn't know whether I'd get out of the driveway this morning. But it was warming and just raining after that, and we did have some black ice on the driveway that we threw some salt on to speed things up. By the time I left at almost 8:00, everything was fine.
I really would have felt horrible cancelling that appointment. We were very very lucky. For all the reasons.
-
As it is, our place still looks much like DR Jrand70's. We still have most of our 12" of snow from the nor'easter a couple of weeks ago and the 6" from the storm after that. Some of it has melted, but the temperatures have not been conducive to it leaving any time soon. Except this afternoon there should be some clearing as it gets up near 50 degrees. One day only, though.
-
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the NEWS.
-
Back, sipping more coffee.
On my way out of the hospital I decided I could use a treat, and stopped at a Dunkin' Donuts and brought home a large coffee with cream & sugar, and two French crullers from France.
I mean, I ass-ume they're from France, considering what I paid for them.
I normally drink coffee black, but say what you want about Dunkin', they always make it perfectly and I enjoy a loaded cup now and then. This was totally delicious. And now I'm following it up with my own cup of black at home. I should be jumpin' around in no time.
-
Hugest property selling vibes possible for DR Elmore.
-
Two!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Blueberry rhubarb pancake is made. Yum.
-
Happy Mardi Gras!
-
MELLIFLUOUS to India last year. I’d like to go back but Melli isn’t flying us anywhere soon.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! While we were eating breakfast Richard and I heard a snowblower that sounded very close. It was our nice neighbor from across the street clearing our steep driveway - thank you, Mark!
-
Our Mardi Gras supper will be nachos and guacamole. I know, it sounds more like Cinco de Mayo, but I got someone else’s avocados in my last grocery pickup and have to use them.
-
Excellent, DR Ginny.
And no, an avocado must never be wasted! :)
-
Second dose scheduled for March 10, and they had plenty of slots open that day.
This CDC/VAMC website for vax scheduling is incredibly well functioning and efficient.
Why isn't the whole country using it??
-
Well I decided that I had to shovel the drive for the poor mail lady....she works so hard. And my mailbox has a Bar Code on it, so she has to trudge up to it even if I don't have mail.
I did a bit at a time......started at the sidewalk from the front porch and got ALMOST to the street. At that time my brother Mike who lives two house down saw me. He yelled out his front door that the son of our in between neighbor was bringing his snowblower over to do all three driveways!
I said - great, he can finish up mine!
Then I called the dentist. My sister had said she could get out her 4-wheel drive truck and take me over. The receptionist said: "Oh....we're closed today. We were just calling everyone."
I said: "Well you don't have to call me now....." Rescheduled for 3:20 on Monday, February 22.
-
HA snow shoveling job.

Excellent, DR Ginny.

They’re not my favorite, but guacamole is OK. While I wouldn’t have purchased these voluntarily I’m looking forward to trying a new recipe.

From DR TCB:
Hopefully all the snow and ice will be totally gone by tomorrow.
A miracle did not happen. Did anyone shovel area so you can get to your car?
We did a short morning walk on the fairly decent road inside of our complex.

The Little Things IS NOT one of my favorite Denzil Washington films for the reasons Bruce mentioned.
-
Just got JABBED.
I got me some Pfizer.
Sitting here at Danbury Hospital for fifteen minutes, then in 21 days I get to come back and do it again.
Congratulations! With Pfizer you get to return sooner than with Moderna.
-
Keith had a headache during the night and is rather achy today. His arm hurts as much as it did with the first shot.
-
Mr. Atkins is funny :)

That was nice of you to make a path for your mail lady. We saw our Mail guy today and told him we were relieved yesterday was a holiday. He said about a third of the delivery people called out on Saturday. Of course he was working. I forgot to ask him if there was an age difference in those that didn't work, kind of old school ethics to younger people.
-
DR JANE the produce lady at WalMart tells me the same thing.....she usually has about half of her staff call in on any given day.
-
I got all of my invoices printed up. It took way too long. Then I fed the cats and took a bath. Guacamole sounds so good.
-
Marshall will be here shortly, then I can make food. I don't think there's anything coming to the mail place today.
-
Last July, I fell in love with little pocket pittie Finckel when he was at the NYC ACC. I couldn't take him, but I thought hje was adorable. Last month hjis adopter returned him -= the ACC won't say why - and unless he is rescued by noon tomorrow, they will euthanize him. It breaks my heart.

This morning we had new ducks in our pond, Northern Shoveler ducks. Just look at these beaks. They also triggered a bout of motion sickness watching them through our telescope. With their heads in the water they were spinning in circles for a very long time. It was fascinating to watch them.

Well, WalMart's motto isn't
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

I was going to post about the five-mile hike I took today. But with everyone's weather problems, I decided not to.

Hello.

Nice photo, DR Laura.

If we were neighbors, DR Elmore, I’d share ours with you!

Everyone's doing it.

Let's all sing a sea shanty!
That's chanty. A shanty will hold the President Trump library.

The power has been off for five or six hours. Just came back on.
-
The heater is working frantically to get things above 50 degrees.
-
I don't know how long it will stay on, but I've got dinner warming on the oven. I figure it will add some heat.
-
It's that red cabbage and sausage soup I made Sunday. I used chicken sausages. I shouldn't have. Every time I taste it, I say to myself, this is good, but it really calls out for some pork fat.
-
Oh, well. Next time.
-
I was going to post about the five-mile hike I took today. But with everyone's weather problems, I decided not to.
Thank you for thinking of us. (Insert winky face.)

Stay warm vibes for DR John. Extra vibes you do not lose power again.

Well, one of us liked the guacamole more than the other. Guess we know what I’ll be having for lunch tomorrow.
-
Enjoy :)

Aside from a red sore arm and feeling achy Keith now has a low grade fever. He looked at the listing of side effects they gave him with the vaccination. It rates the degrees of temperatures and when to be concerned. The temps are listed in Celsius instead of Fahrenheit.
Really, in the US! How about all the people that don't know how to convert that. They should have used both options.
-
True DR JANE - I shudder to think what its motto might be.
-
Jerome Kern Revisited III has arrived in Indiana.
-
Temperatures below 0 degrees tonight.....so I have opened my sink cabinets to help the pipes.
I usually don't leave a drip of water running - since I am up three or four times each night, when I am walking around I run a short blast in the kitchen and bathroom......
-
Good Evening. It's been another one of those days. I'm glad the work portion is over. Still create ways to rehearse on Zoom and make sure the kids rehearse on their own, it's a whole new world out there. Once I settle on a method, it will go well, I'm sure.
-
Going to order some fun food for Mardi Gras this evening. Not sure what, though.
-
Hoo and Ray! Jerome Kern Revisited, Vol. III (http://www.kritzerland.com/kern3_good.htm) has arrived in Tumwater! ;D

Hmmm, I never did that. Good idea. I use to run water through the pipes.

I mentioned on Facebook how Keith is feeling and we immediately received texts from our friend in Portland, the one on pain meds after her elbow injury. Finally she said "well, if you aren't worried about it then why are you posting alarm bells all over Facebook".
;D I didn't know I was being alarming. I thought I was simply sharing his reaction, as most of our friends have been doing.
I am really more concerned as to why Craig has muscle spasms around the injection. That is not a reaction I have heard about.
-
Thanks, DR elmore3003. I actually had it right the first time, then second-guessed myself and changed it to the wrong thing. ;D
-
We started SuperNova tonight. It's very slow-going, but has some beautiful and striking moments.
-
~~~SURVIVAL VIBES~~~ for DR John G.
Good night, everyone.
Yeah, Facebook is really "Fix-it Book" If you post something that has to do with a sickness, a problem or whatever you get dozens of people trying to fix your issue - when all you really wanted to do was say how you are feeling or whatever.
-
Finished with my viewing. Took a drive to keep the engine healthy.
-
The snow is nearly all gone except for the huge piles from where we shoveled
-
It was pleasant out, nearly 50
-
But we’ve been threatened with another storm and 5-9 inches between 6 am and 4 pm on Thursday
-
Bah
-
I printed out my appointment confirmation tiday
-
Then went online and completed the vaccination card
-
Then printed that confirmation
-
Then I called my oncologist to ask what I needed to prove I qualified
-
They already had a letter drafted that meets the state requirements so they emailed tha5 to me
-
So that’s printed out
-
Now I have to get Vixdad to do his
-
And coordinate with my brother and sister in law about Moms vaccine
-
We have a 22 mike trek to our vaccination site
-
John I am so sorry about your power outage, may the lights and heat stay on
-
Well I am very tired so I shall bid he a fond adieu
-
Goodnight
-
I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait...
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
In tarnation?
-
I hear it's lovely there this time of year.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I think we've been on this damn page long enough.
-
Seven hundred more posts to a millstone.
-
Listening to William Alwyn's opera of Miss Julie. It's enjoyable but the music/libretto fit isn't always wonderful.
-
At long last, page five.
Wow.
Sorry. Are you staying warm?
Most unseemly.
Where the HELL is George?
I has returned!
Right after work, I had to go to my sister's to finish putting in one of her light fixtures. I went there during my lunch, but the "nipple" (the hollow screw that holds the light fixture to the bar in the box in the ceiling ::) ) wasn't long enough, so I had to go to Home Depot and get longer ones. It then only took a minute or so to finish installing the fixture.
-
She has three more light fixtures for me to install :P but those will wait until the weekend.
-
I then came home and read for a bit and decided that I didn't want to read the book that I started, so I'll pick a new book later. Then, I came up to my bedroom and got on my computer and fell down the rabbit hole known as the Tube of You.
-
I watched a couple of political commentaries (vids of commentators whose opinions are similar to mine ;) ), and then I watched a couple of videos from America's Test Kitchen (https://www.youtube.com/c/AmericasTestKitchen/featured). They're quite informative and just fun to watch, even though I'll probably never actually make anything that were in the videos that I watched.
-
The Nipple Wasn't Large Enough - that's the title of my next novel.
How many times have I been told that the nipple isn’t long enough?
