Well, you've read the notes, the notes twiddled, piddled, and resolved, and now it is time for you to post until the twiddling cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LUMINARY!
-
Listening to the first of the Pfitzner operas - it's just fantastic - this guy was brilliant and must listen to his orchestral stuff again. This one's called Die Rose vom Liebesgarten.
-
I now seem to have gained back four hundred gigs of space. Amazing how fast everything is working now.

I now seem to have gained back four hundred gigs of space. Amazing how fast everything is working now.
Wow! That's amazing!
-
Topic of the Day: there are so many, but the first two that I thought of were When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle.
-
I'll also add:
Amélie
Crazy Rich Asians
Groundhog Day
Singin' in the Rain
Some Like It Hot
Strictly Ballroom
The Wedding Singer (I prefer the musical)
As well as The Shop Around the Corner/In the Good Old Summertime/She Loves Me/You've Got Mail :)
-
Have a good day, all!

Good morning, everyone.

As well as The Shop Around the Corner/In the Good Old Summertime/She Loves Me/You've Got Mail :)
Indeed!
-
bk, thank you for the DropBox information.
-
DR TCB. I was very moved by your comments last night. I am sorry about the retirement of your physician. Good for you for telling him your truth. I am sure that meant a lot to him.
-
DR vixmom's late-night typing always gives me great pleasure. But I do hope that she got some quality sleep in the end.
-
Thank you for the Assassins link, DR John G.
-
Soon I shall be off to
the salt mines the mines of sulphur work.
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR George, about that jacket, according to Amazon, it's not a woman's leather jacket:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W92ZXVM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I did miss this in the Product Description:
Buttons & zippers may vary depending on the availability of the same during tailoring of the jacket.
-
I have decided to return the jacket and look for another.
-
I am sorry, DR elmore3003.
-
However, I've heard that bk's mail place is a great location to do an Amazon return.

So is the UPS store around the corner from me!
-
I hate shopping for clothes online!

Good morning, all.

Kitty cleanup is finished. I need a sherpa for Larry cleanup.

Good morning, all.

I've piddled. What's left but to twiddle? Only then can I resolve.
-
It's good to hear that Dropbox has confounded more than just yrs truly.
I really hardly use it, myself. When someone sends me something or shares a folder, I have no problem dealing with that. But the whole confounded syncing my own files thing confounds me.
Here's one question: I'm a nut about everything being backed ups. So if I have a set of files only in the cloud (Dropbox) and NOT on my hard drive, that set of files only exists in one place. Now, I know these companies probably have umpteen backup systems themselves. But let's say their whole enterprise is targeted by evildoers and Dropbox goes poof. What's "my" backup in that event?
-
Your memory DR CHAS SMITH - and you know where that leaves both of us.
-
....and without a paddle.
-
I liked DR TCB's story last night.
I am always grateful to my doctors and let them know it - but they usually just say "thank you" and move on.
-
DR ELMORE I think I am living in The Mines of Sulphur.
-
I don't think I could watch 2 1/2 hours of a ZOOM conversation about anything.
-
I shall think about the TOD. Many of my favorites have already been mentioned......
-
Still checking other sites on leather jackets. And I just ordered this.
-
The Big Ladder is put away. I had to climb it twice, and now my legs and back are killing me. The cats have about two months of food set out, and everything is has been put away.
-
DR TCB I am very moved by the story of your doctor, and very glad he saved your life.
-
New doctor vibes for DR TCB!

Here's what's left of the January 31st nor'easter on March 9th.
We're in the mid-50s today and tomorrow, then high-60s for a couple of days. That should all but take care of it.

I was really geeking out at the Assassins chat last night. But I have to say, Patrick Cassidy only learned one lesson from BK. The songs were prerecorded. All of it should have been. Too many people floated in and out, lost connection, froze up. Never really heard from Jerry Zaks or Jonathan Hadary.
-
Good Morning - business as usual.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe three hours of sleep. Couldn't sleep at all for most of the night, up at six-thirty, back in bed by eight or so, and then these jerks next door have their tree trimmers today, of course, the noisiest in history and they're still at it. So, no more sleep today, I'm afraid.
-
Good afternoon!
-
I also was touched by your story, TCB. I hope you'll be able to find another great doctor.
-
I have finally reached the 250 mark of ushering at the performing arts center in town. (I just can usher as often as some of the retirees who have notched 400+ performances). This means I get offers of a free ticket if a show has extra seats available.

Congrats, John!
-
At the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, they've changed their volunteering gifts over the years, but currently (well, in the beforetimes), if we ushered for 20+ hours in a season, we'd get a certificate for one free ticket plus one half-price ticket. They can be used independently, so you could just get the one free ticket now and a half-price ticket for a different show. After that, you'd get something (I now forget what) at 120+ hours...and that's it. There are people here who also have volunteered 400+ hours in a season, but there's nothing after the 120+ hours.
-
Tuesday afternoon greetings! Not sure where the day has gone, but my craft corner is cleaned up a bit. My sister, niece, and I are doing 2 online crafty events the last 2 weekends of this month. The pre-event festivities begin tomorrow with unboxings of the parcels that have arrived and, miraculously, remained sealed. We'll unpack our boxes together (on Facebook) tomorrow morning for one event, then Thursday evening for the other.

Another great list except for Broadcast News or A Perfect Couple which I don't remember.
-
I do not consider Breakfast at Tiffany's a comedy. Since it has been listed several times I am wondering what humor I missed, or don't remember.
-
If Breakfast at Tiffany's counts than I think Two for the Road should be included.
-
Nice jacket DR ELMORE.
Congrats to DR JOHN G

It is 65 degrees. I think I will sit on my front porch and watch for airplanes.

I dream of sitting in a rocker on a front porch with a clicker and counting the... ...somethings... going by.

Minnesota is opening up the vaccine criteria tomorrow to the point where I'd be eligible. Finding an appointment will be a challenge, I'm sure.
-
As I have to be on phones all the work day and so won't be able to endlessly refresh my computer screen.

Hello, everyone.

I loved this.
-
TCB, I'm sorry your doctor retired. I can understand your sense of loss. Twenty-eight years is a long time! And he helped you through so much. Vibes your next doctor is a good one.
-
Still checking other sites on leather jackets. And I just ordered this.
It looks attractive. Is that a map in the lining? How handy! I hope it fits and you enjoy it for many years.

THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER and ENCHANTED APRIL are among my favorites. But also a British show, RECKLESS (the one starring Robson Green and Francesca Annis), a very quirky romance.

Add me to the sleepless list. I ate something last night that didn't agree with me and it took several hours for my tummy to settle down. I didn't get to bed until 1:00, then woke up at 6:30. Ugh! I'm pretty wasted today.

I agree.
I always loved the vicious ones of the last four years, of course. But this one was almost a sleeper -- it's just purely hilarious...as I kept saying and LOLing throughout.
-
I also enjoyed the new RR video!
-
It is wonderful DR singdaw.
I counted six airplanes before I came inside. Lots of children riding their bicycles up and down the street.....some other kids playing basketball here and there.
It was nice to be outside.

Have you ever tried Glycine to help sleep? My eye doctor recommended it.
-
We have had a lovely day. People were very friendly and I did a bit too much talking and not enough walking.
-
Good evening.

It is 65 degrees. I think I will sit on my front porch and watch for airplanes.
Go to flightradar24.com and watch the planes. I like to see where they are going.
-
I should really go back out for a short after dinner walk. Increasing my walking has greatly reduced the pain in my stomach and from GERD. Still, when I have my yearly check-up on Friday we will be discussing my concerns.
-
As I was about to get up from my desk and go for a walk I heard an unexpected sound outside. To my great surprise it is pouring out there.
-
Oh well, I will happily go read.

THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER and ENCHANTED APRIL are among my favorites. But also a British show, RECKLESS (the one starring Robson Green and Francesca Annis), a very quirky romance.
I loved Reckless. The great Michael Kitchen was in Enchanted April and Reckless, as well as Foyle.
-
Watching a documentary called Tabloid from Errol Morris. Very funny and weird.
-
Roger Mudd has died at 93. I always liked him. He appeared to be serious, focused and honest. Yet he also came across as very relaxed, very comfortable in himself in those moments when it wasn't entirely about the work.

Your list, Vixmom, reminded me of a favorite that I somehow left off my lists:
Four Weddings and a Funeral

"I just don't see any connection between a cloned puppy story and a 32-year-old sex-in-chains story, do you?"
Great quote from this weird documentary Tabloid.

I've been in Indiegogoland for hours, doing perks and setting everything up so we can hopefully launch in the morning. Some really good perks - you'll want to get there early :)
-
Just saw the DGA list of the five best directors - the director of The Father is NOT up. I see no reason to vote, really.
-
And on that note, I must prepare for bed.
-
Nor is the director of News of the World. Blechhh.

How early, BK? Like during my sleep break, which is usually 3 a.m. my time or 1 a.m. your time.
-
Five!
-
Just saw the DGA list of the five best directors - the director of The Father is NOT up. I see no reason to vote, really.
But is up for best first-time director:
Florian Zeller, “The Father” (Sony Pictures Classics)
First Assistant Director: George Every
Second Assistant Director: Jamie D. Allen
-
I don't know if that's good or bad or what. But there was no overlap from this category to the other.
-
Anyway, good night, all.
-
No, there's an issue now that I have to call and resolve - every time I do a campaign things are different and weird. So, I have to call in the morning - it will be up by noon is the hope.
-
Listening to my third opera of the day - the complete three-act Lulu with Boulez conducting and Teresa Stratas - I find the Bohm more appealing in terms of conducting and the way has with the music, but this is really excellent, too, and I'm looking forward to act three. The other two were Pfitzner operas. That's been my accompaniment for the Indiegogo business.
-
I had a pastrami sandwich from Togo's at two, and a muffin since. Not so terrible.
-
Just saw the DGA list of the five best directors - the director of The Father is NOT up. I see no reason to vote, really.
Did you see the films of the 5 listed?
-
Thank you for the kind words regarding my doctor.
-
I thought the director of NOMADLAND was the front-runner for the DGA and the Academy Awards
-
I went out to lunch today with my friend, Ken.
-
I think if you count all of the employees along with the customers, we were still a group of 10 people or less.
-
Ken was nice enough to come over and put in a temporary shower head in my walk-in shower for me.
-
Ken was nice enough to come over and put in a temporary shower head in my walk-in shower for me.
That was nice if him. Why is it only temporary?
-
The former colossal (Land of the Giants) shower head fell and attempted to kill me Sunday, as I was getting in for a shower.
-
I have been forced to use the shower in the other bathroom.
-
I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait...
-
Now playing: Act two of Berg's Lulu. Then comes the third act, which wasn't part of the other recording I heard.
-
Looking forward to that.
-
To that I'm looking forward.

I am perked out.

That's pretty exciting about the new Indiegogo campaign...except for the issue that you have to call and resolve.

And now...
