Well, you've read the notes, the notes were 54% and sprung forward, and now it is time for you to post until the springing forward cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ASSIDUOUS!
-
Glad yesterday's encore presentation and Q&A went well!
-
After leaving my mom's yesterday, I had to do some shopping. I bought some new shirts and saved over 30% (about $55!) on the four shirts that I got. I'm happy. :) Then, I had to stop at my work because I left some things there that I needed, then hied myself to my sister's for a bit, then drove through Dairy Queen for dinner, then I was able to go home.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I want my hour back.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I got a lovely 8.5 hours of sleep, plus a 3-hour nap yesterday afternoon, so I am quite happy about that.
-
~~~BREATHING VIBES~~~ for DR TCB!
-
~~~FEEL BETTER SOON VIBES~~~ for Freyja!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I want that hour, and more, back.
-
Back down to 18° on the Fahrenheit scale tonight.
-
Can you tell how excited I am?
-
Your boisterousness is palpable right through the screen, DR ChasSmith.
-
And I am ASSIDUOUS in that.
-
(to paraphrase Are You Being Served?)
-
I am very crabby this morning.
-
I am trying to secure vaccine appointments for my mother and aunt in New Jersey. They are both over 80 and have been unable to secure appointments. And in a few more days, a whole new class of folks will become eligible.

On a night when the clocks have to jump forward amn hour, I will never again watch a program beginning at 8:00pm EST. By the time I got to bed it was 10:30, and when the alarm rang at 5:45, I refused to budge. I finally got up at 6:45, and I have been in unemployment hell ever since. The goddamned Dept of Labor has refpr,atted things amd I need to reapply for unemployment. Life has been shit ever since.
-
Sending me scurrying about for my drivers license number, and other pieces of info, I would return to find "your time has expired, please begin again" over and over! Then, I misread a que3syion and ended up gaving to fill out a busibess form I am thoroughly incapable of understanding/ So I decided to begin again and now I cannot log on to the site because, I suspect, every poor schlub in the damned state is trying to reapply.
-
Vibes for Freyja!
-
Computer vibes for DR ELMORE and DR singdaw.
-
Continued vibes for MR BK & the Campaign!
-
Well, I finally logged onto the NY Dept of Labor site and finished my application. I am very happy that hurdle is over.
-
Stella has managed to get her clutches on the current role of toilet paper, and I've cleaned that up. I still need to make the bed, get some breakfast, and take my meds.
-
And not necessarily in that order.
-
Glad you finally had success, DR elmore3003. How exasperating!
-
Let's move on...
-
DEUX!!

As in, "Mon Deux!"

-
DR elmore3003, since you've already taken delivery of your new leather jacket, I guess it's too late for you to buy this suit made entirely of peanuts.
-
Good Lord, DR Elmore, what a start to a Sunday morning. I'm glad the unemployment RE-app worked out. Why in the HELL did they drop that on everybody?
-
Good morning!

Hello all! There's a brand new Broadway Radio Show up on this here website.....we turn back time as we listen to More Show Tunes On The Air! Show tunes as sung by some of the great ladies of song.....this time, it's Keely Smith, Patti Page and Della Reese. Three wonderful singers and some great show tunes!

Check it out!!!
-
For anyone who might be interested (and who lives near an Uno Pizzeria), in honor of "Pi" Day, Uno's is offering an individual thin-crust cheese pizza for $3.14 today only.
-
Mmmm... Keely Smith.
One of the best voices in the business, ever.

In The Dangers of Storing Stuff in the Oven department...
The other night, I removed everything stored in the oven to pre-heat for a frozen pizza. Only, when I went to put the pizza in, I found I had forgotten about a Calphalon stock pot that had been hiding out in the way back. Alarmed, I went to remove the pot immediately, forgetting that as the oven had pre-heated to 400, that pot would be HOT. I mean, I did have the presence of mind to use pot holders, but still...
I realized my mistake milliseconds later, and set the hot pot down on the nearest available item, which was the padded rug on the kitchen floor. Being made of cheap synthetic fiber, it immediately congealed to the bottom of the pot. What a dunce!
I thought the pot was ruined forever, but this morning the DH did some magic with a razor blade, and now the pot is like new.
It's a Christmas miracle!

Have they pulled this on you?

No. This morning they only had a notice up about the extension that's about to kick in, and telling us to keep entering our weekly claims.
-
So, since I logged onto the NY Dept of Labor site, Stella has gone back to the toilet paper again and I have another mess to clean up. The current problem is, I cannot find the remains of the actual toll so it will come back to bite my ass.
-
Then I got an email from the NY Dept of Labor: you have a message in your mailbox.
OK, only once again I cannot log onto their site. What utter bullshit!
-
Thank you DR George.
-
DR TCB how many days is the inhaler good for? OUCH on the price. Vibes you can eventually get one that is less expensive.
-
I want my hour back.
I am not sure I can tell the difference. I woke up at 2:00 and realize the time was changing to 3:00. I never fell back to sleep.
-
~~~FEEL BETTER SOON VIBES~~~ for Freyja!
Thank you.
I guess I shouldn't complain our temps are dropping.
Oh no! I am glad your pot was saved. I guess you need a new rug.
-
This happened over twenty years ago, but I, too, learned the lesson of the synthetic fiber kitchen rug.
I think we had the oven pre-heating for whatever we were cooking. Maybe it was a turkey, because we suddenly remembered we hadn't taken out a rack or two to make room for it. So we pulled the rack out of the hot oven and instead of, say, putting it outside to cool, we rested a corner of it for a moment on that rug. For whatever reason.
Instant melting of the fibers occurred. I don't remember it sticking to the rack, but that rug thereafter had "grill marks" on it till finally we couldn't stand the sight of it and out it went.
-
At any rate, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
-
Let’s try this again.
-
I’m up again and it’s almost noon.
-
I finally saw the message from the Dept of Labor: they need to review my case before I can begin filing claims again. WTF?
-
Oh no, DR elmore3003! :-X
-
Back from another lovely walk. Brisker and windier today, though.
We're supposed to get more snow tonight.
Let's move on...
THREE!!!
We were eating breakfast when Keith had a startled expression and wondered what just flew by out there. We looked and it was a fitted sheet the neighbor above of dropped off of their balcony ;D
Watching a nifty little pre-WWII flick called The Man I Married. Joan Bennett is married to a German who is slowly getting sucked into the evils of Nazism. There’s plenty of talk about concentration camps.
-
DR John G. celebrates Pi day his way; I celebrate it my way.
-
I do think his way is tastier, though.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I think I got nine hours of sleep, but who knows.
-
56%!!! Sunday is usually a non-inddegogo day, so glad we had two contributions. Hoping we'll be surprised in a good way later.
I am going to ask Keith if he wants to watch this.
Freyja's fever broke so we were able to video chat with her.
-
Great, DR Jane!
-
Thanks.
-
Good news DR JANE.
DR singdaw that story is scary.
-
It was! A cautionary tale.
-
Pi.
-
I just love Thomas's "Pick Me Ups." don't you?
-
Good news DR JANE.
DR singdaw that story is scary.
Thanks.
-
Picked up packages, save for the one that was supposed to come today but hadn't yet. Did Taco Bell for food and am now listening to Martha by Flowtow. Or is it Flowtow by Martha. Either way, it's just not every interesting to me musically - mostly two chords repeated endlessly - think C to G7 or as a variation G7 to C.
-
Pi.
I love it.
-
Is anyone actually watching the Grammys tonight?
-
Jagged Little Pill was already named best cast album. Do any of the other categories matter?
-
Good Afternoon. It's been a productive day. Doing tracks, etc... and I made a jello pie for pi day. Throw back to my childhood - just jello and cool whip. I had a pre-made graham cracker crust which saved some time. It's chilling now. Other than that, it's just an ordinary Sunday.
-
I wish I liked this more than I do, but the lyrics are really irritating.
Years ago I used to make a jello mold like that.
Finished watching Minari - wonderful movie and my second favorite of those I've seen and so much better than Nomadland, especially director-wise, but the Nomadland director gets all the attention. Ridiculous.
Watching No Way to Treat a Lady. I saw the musical, read the original novel, but I've never seen the movie before.
-
Love the movie.
-
I also love the movie.
-
Lee Remick has never looked lovelier.
-
Heads up, hainsies! I've just put up a bunch of rare new perks. I won't be announcing these until morning, probably, so check 'em out - these will, most likely, go very quickly.
Yes way to No Way. Just what I needed tonight.
Starting Thieves' Highway but I don't know if I'll last through it.
Gratuitous Post #100!
And some of them sound like they started on wrong notes. :o
Tonight, I came across a concert in tribute to Ira Gershwin that was shown on BBC TV in 1996. I'd never heard of this one before, but it features BK's close and personal friend, Debbie Gravitte (https://youtu.be/qlK2r0knqUY?t=640)!
-
Hi, George.
-
Good night, all.
-
Watching No Way to Treat a Lady. I saw the musical, read the original novel, but I've never seen the movie before.
I haven't seen either - I've heard the CD, that's about it. But every time I see the title, all I can think about is the Helen Reddy song!
Got the entire Queen's Gambit series and have watched the first two episodes - so far, as good as they say.
Listening to an opera comique by Offenbach, La Perichole - fun.
I am very glad that Freyja is feeling better.
Just one more post.
P A G E F I V E
-
Yesterday it was over 60 degrees, tomorrow it is going to be 46.
-
Oh well, at least I am not living in Denver.
-
Hello, George.
-
So, I've been watching YouTube videos and I came across this video interview with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oQB5iBcvGg) during the run of Sweeney Todd in Boston after the Broadway production.
-
The interviewer, Elliot Norton, keeps strongly pronouncing the H in Johanna, so he says it like joe-HAN-ah. ::)
-
But either I didn't know, or I had completely forgotten that George Hearn was married to Betsy Joslyn while they were playing father and daughter in said production of Sweeney Todd!
-
I also looked up their IMBd listings and found that he had also been married to Dixie Carter! Who knew??
-
And according to Betsy's listing, she hasn't been married since she divorced George Hearn.
-
And according to Betsy's listing, she hasn't been married since she divorced George Hearn.
Was she married to Hal Holbrook?
-
And according to Betsy's listing, she hasn't been married since she divorced George Hearn.
Was she married to Hal Holbrook?
Yup. After George Hearn. Hal was Dixie's third husband.
-
The husband of my high school drama teacher passed away. Suddenly, I am flashing back to a lot of memories of those days.
-
And according to Betsy's listing, she hasn't been married since she divorced George Hearn.
Was she married to Hal Holbrook?
Yup. After George Hearn. Hal was Dixie's third husband.
I know that. I meant Betsy.
I almost fogot to mention...I made my Neapolitan Pudding Pie that I mentioned last night. Here's a picture:
-
It was quite tasty, if I do say so myself...and I do. ;)
