Well, you've read the notes, the notes had memories and an audio commentary, and now it is time for you to post until the commenting cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INCISIVE!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Yesterday I removed the comforter from my bed, and last night I thought I would freeze to death. I could not get my feet warm at all. I guess it goes back onto the bed today.
-
DR George, happy belated birthday to your niece!
-
DR Matthew, when Thatch was a baby - 3 months to a year old, maybe - in 2017 and 2018, he and Annabelle cuddled a lot. I now on occasion will find the three of them sleeping colse to each other on my bed, but I would not call it cuddling.
-
I need to drag out the Big Ladder and inventory cat food today or tomorrow. Today's priority is to pay the remainder of April's bills and get them into the post so they will be picked up in the Monday morning mail collection.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Cat photos are always a good thing.
-
Glad yesterday's recording session went well.
-
~~~CONTINUED MOST EXCELLENT VIBES & XYLOPHONES~~~ for reassuring news for bk!!!!
-
Well, DARN IT!!!
BK, have you ever thought about releasing the Maltby-Shire recording of The Sap of Life? When I was in college, one of the set designers owned a reel-to-reel copy that he lent me, and he swore it was one of hte best scores ever. I ave no memory of it now, but to my knowledge there's certainly been no commercial release of it.
-
I would buy that!
-
The whole score/recording can be heard here:
Good morning, all.
Most excellent news on the commentary recordings yesterday.
Well, that certainly sounds intriguing!
-
Kitty cleanup is over, and now I must pay two bills.
-
From TCB:
Did you use the height measurer to make sure you were tall enough for the slide?
You mean short enough since this is the kiddies playground ;)
This is very true :(
Our laundry area is at the end of a long basement room. The front area is where the trash and recyclable area is going to hell badly because a lot of the new tenants are total pigs. I don't know if the job is becoming too heavy between four buildings for our super Jeff to handle. It was the major reason - plus the landlord's refusal to pAy him for vacation time off - that Val, our best super ever and love of Annabelle's life, left us. Before Val, every super in the building was assisted by their wives in keeping the buildings tidy. I ave no idea what Jeff's wife does and I hardly ever see her.
-
And I actually paid four bills. I had forgotten about a radiology bill and the utilities.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’d buy The Sap of Life.
-
Time to check out the day.
-
But first ...
-
Two!
-
All this talk of the Titanic reminds me of this sign:
-
Loved reading about the commentaries and the Raleigh Studios. Looking forward to the Blu Ray.
-
I have downloaded The Sap of Life to listen to later.
-
I am enjoying reading about DR JANE's Chicago adventures.
-
My neighbor Ann stopped by to post my bills for me. I am so lucky to have her and Jen watching out for me.
-
That is good, DR elmore3003. You have quite a number of angels!
-
Well, a number of people have started reading the new $135.00 Sondheim encyclopedia and are posting on social media that it has inaccuracies.
-
Good afternoon!
If Brussels are wrong, I don't wanna be right.
Little green balls of death might be appealing to some.
-
I talked to David Shire two decades ago about doing it, but we both felt the LP pressing wasn't good enough to try and go from. But when this showed up on Facebook again I e-mailed him and said we should do it and he's now keen to do so and is searching for a tape. If no tape is found, then I'll try and gather three or four copies of the LP and see what we can do - the technology is so much better today.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep and have been catching up on stuff.
That's great news.
Watching the second half of The Wages of Fear.
This sounds promising.
-
We are watching An Affair to Remember. I think I've seen it once before, many years ago.
-
I made an omelet with cream cheese - kind of gross. And some microwave bacon - also kind of gross. So, I'll go to Gelson's and get something else.
Sounds fun. Enjoy.
Unless it's the Warren Beatty version.
-
Warren Beatty.
-
I don't like his version....but his name is fun to say.
-
DR George, happy belated birthday to your niece!
Thanks, Larry!
-
So, I'm sitting at my computer desk and just noticed the birthday card that I bought for my niece but TOTALLY forgot to bring over yesterday. :o Dopey me! Anyway, my sister made some blintzes and invited me over to have some, so I'll go over there in a little bit for the blintzes and deliver the birthday card...belatedly.
PAGE THREE THE SAP OF LIFE DANCE!!
Fantastic! :D
I am enjoying reading about DR JANE's Chicago adventures.
Thank you. We are currently babysitting.
-
I can post as she is now fast asleep.
-
Definitely the Deborah Kerr version. :)
-
We are all in this to get her.
-
Good night, friends. Sorry I can't get the day's posting totals any higher.
-
Haha - so cute. The boys will do the same, never really "meaning" to cuddle, but they will sometimes will be asleep with their backs touching or something. So cute anyway!
-
Good Evening! I see the light at the end of the tunnel for many things today. This week, all the kids are coming back to school at the same time! According to the county, we are down to 3ft apart! So we are getting everyone in. It's very exciting. The shows will be done filming this week, and I'm excited which sorta means my work is finished, maybe some tweaks here and there. I'll be glad when they are over. At least Urinetown is shooting the show like a show, where Shrek is filming in front of a green screen, very cinematic and not theatrical. I'm sure it will look great, but when you can't act WITH someone, there's no life.
Anyway.... these are the days of our lives.
-
I am glad we didn't get caught in the mess at O'Hare yesterday. It seems a fire shut down the pedestrian tunnel.
-
It was a year ago, today, that I lost my beloved Nicky. I know I will see him again when I get to the Rainbow Bridge.
-
Hugs, TCB.
-
I made a really good soup tonight, Roasted Tomato and Bean with Avocado Relish on top.
And yes, I had to use the immersion blender.
-
BTW, the Irish may call it Avocado Relish, but we'uns in Texas call it guacamole.
-
Sending hugs to TCB
Thanks, Jane...she did. :)
-
And my sister's blintzes were pretty darned good. I had one with blueberry pie filling as a topping. My sister said that pretty much anyone who had one had selected blueberry, too.
-
We are all in this to get her.
:o Oh, my!
;D
Oh, no! I hadn't heard about this.
{{{HUGS}}}
-
The eggs and bacon were so nauseating earlier that I couldn't face another home prepared meal, so I got a Cobb Salad from Stanley's with ranch dressing and it was very good.
-
I have finally seen the Balanchine The Nutcracker via Blu-ray - most entertaining it was - incredible sets and costumes and wonderfully performed. As always, even with TWELVE cameras, these "directors" don't know how to shoot these things.
-
I also watched on the YouTube before bed last night, Balanchine's wonderful Who Cares set to the music of Gershwin. Shockingly, there is not a single home video release for this.
-
Hugs, TCB. I just had my anniversary of losing Joshie. I still miss him.
I'm sorry, but what do you need 12 cameras for? To get under the skirts of Mother Ginger?
Too much dance is not available on video. Except YouTube.
-
Can we get off this page?
-
Onward
-
Four!
-
Good night, all.
-
Sending hugs 💙
What is avocado relish?
-
Um, where in tarnation IS everyone? That is the question we're all asking.
-
Certainly not here.
-
Certainly not now.
-
Listening to Charles Munch do French composers - marvelous.
-
Well...
-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
I've been doing laundry today.
-
Page four? Really???
-
You'd think that Vixmom would be here.
-
She only has to get up in about five hours, so she should be here partying! ;)
-
I don't know how long it'll be available on YouTube, but there was an all-star online streaming version of The Musical of Musicals The Musical! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSZh93Daum8)...and More! to benefit the York Theatre. :D
-
I'd heard about it and was hoping to watch it, but I totally forgot about it, which is probably why I went shopping after I left my sister's. ::)
-
But, it's still on YouTube, so I hope to be able to watch it tomorrow at work.
-
Goose evening.
-
Hello, George.
-
Page 4. Not good.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Too much partying on the weekend.
-
Damn it! We have needs, as well.
-
That sounded more powerful in my head.
-
Maybe that is because of all the other voices in my head.
-
Hello?
-
Anybody else here?
-
We are really dragging tonight.
-
Just one more.
-
-
Times have changed...
-
And we often rewound the clock,
-
It's hard to believe that The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) is 18 years old.
-
Since the Puritans got a shock....
-
And one of the original performers, Lovette George (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovette_George), has since died. :-\
-
When they landed on Plymouth Rock.
-
But today,
-
Any shock they would try to stem,
-
‘Stead of landing on Plymouth Rock,
-
Plymouth Rock would land on them!
-
TCB and George to the rescue.
-
Notes are written and ready to post.
-
They include the Blu-ray wrap.
-
Thank you, thank you! Sutton Foster will be here all week.
-
But they do not include the Blu-ray rap.
-
Listening to music.
-
Good night, one and all.
-
Mostly French this evening, mostly conducted by Munch. Now playing, Poulenc's incredible organ concerto in one of the greatest RCA stereo recordings ever made. You heard it here.
-
Where'd George get too?
-
Is he playing Phase Fourteen?
-
Well, at least we're past the point of no return.
-
Guy Haines did a good version of Point of No Return.
-
Where'd George get too?
I have returned. I was just checking my e-mail.
-
Is he playing Phase Fourteen?
Not right now...and not when I'm alone! There's no point to that. ;)
-
I'm listening to more of The Sap of Life and I didn't realize that it not only contains "Watching the Big Parade Go By," but it also has "She Loves Me Not."
-
However, it's two (straight) men singing about a woman, who sings about a man.
-
I like the rewrite that was rewritten for Closer Than Ever.
-
I actually got to sing the updated version in an AIDS benefit more than 20 years ago!
-
I sang the second male part. :)
-
PAGE SIX CLOSER THAN EVER DANCE!!
-
This is one of my all-time favorite musical revues!
-
Based entirely on the original cast recording, featuring the World's Sexiest Man Alive, Brent Barrett. ;D
