Well, you've read the notes, the notes were reassuring, and now it is time for you to post until the reassured cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ADULATE!
-
I gave up on Musical of Musical. One joke stretched too far.
-
That's too bad. I enjoyed the original cast recording. I didn't get a chance to watch the video at work today. Maybe I'll attempt it tomorrow.
-
Topic of the Day: the first title that I thought of where I both read the book and had seen the movie was The Wizard of Oz.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Glad for the reassuring news.
-
Unfortunately, there was a new round of gushing water from the ceiling last night. I'm secretly hoping that it starts affecting the bathroom in the apartment below ours, to give management a little more incentive to do something about it.
-
Last night, we watched an old episode of The Carol Burnett Show, featuring guest star Rock Hudson.
Carol and Rock performed a rendition of "What Do the Simple Folk Do?" from Camelot. I was surprised at how well Rock sang! I didn't remember him as being a singer.
-
:)
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept very well. The cats behaved, so that was an added bonus.
-
I dreamed I was working on a recording for the crazy man with the last foundation I worked for. We were at someone's apartment rehearsing with Jason Graae, then there was a bus ride to the Upper West Side, and I was in a restaurant. That's about all I remember.
-
This morning I am finally getting my hair cut. I hope the walk there goes easily.
-

TOD
Tom Jones (both Albert Finney and BBC miniseries)
The Innocents
The Three and Four Musketeers (together form the Dumas novel Les Trois Mousquetaires)
Pride and Prejudice (1980 amd 1995 BBC miniseries)
To Kill A Mockingbird
Peyton Place
The Uninvited
Great Expectations (David Lean)
Dracula (BBC miniseries with Louis Jourdan)
-
Good morning, all.
-
When I watched The Last Wave last week I hadn't yet connected the dots between its events and those DR singdaw is experiencing. Now I believe there are ample grounds for a remake, and I shall call Hollywood today to give them a heads up.
-
;D
-
A local group here did Musical of Musicals six or seven years ago, just the cast of four (which I'm presuming is what it's written for?), one of whom also doubled on playing the piano (likewise?). That cast understood every reference and joke they were making, the staging was clever and fast-paced, and the small venue was perfect for it. I do remember thinking a few of the bits or songs could have been written even shorter, but it was a charming evening.
Based on what I've been reading, I can already imagine what this one's going to look like. I'll watch it or skip through it later with the expectations dial set to zero.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Kitty cleanup is finished and the bed made. I need to get ready for my excursion.
-
We are waiting to board our flight.
-
Getting through TSA was a bit of a hassle.
-
For the first time in a while my metal body parts set off alarms.
-
Travel vibes for DR JANE.
-
I love to hear a good barbershop quartet singing "Sweet Adulate."
-
TOD:
The Carpetbaggers - which was neither literature nor much of a movie.
-
TCB, Seattle is still likely. I have eight or nine weeks of vacation built up.
-
TOD:
A Room with a View
Ran/King Lear
Panique and Monsieur Hire/Monsieur Hire’s Engagement
Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources
The Leopard
The River
Cold Comfort Farm
The Pallisers (TV)
Both versions of The Forsyte Saga (TV)
The Prince of Tides
Show Boat (The Whale version)
Coup de Torchon/Pop. 1280
Plus Elmore’s list
-
Two!
-
TOD:
A Room with a View
Cold Comfort Farm
Show Boat (The Whale version)
Plus Elmore’s list
I would add the first two to my list and add:
Midnight Cowboy
Gods and Monsters
Maurice
Sense and Sensibility (Emma Thompson)
Phantom of the Opera (Lon Chaney)
I love James Whale's Show Boat, but the last quarter certainly veers off from the Broadway source; the silent film is much closer to Ferber's novel.
-
The entire trip from leaving the apartment to the basement with recyclables to barber to corner market and back home took me just about an hour. Very nice!
-
Good news, DR elmore3003.
-
:)
-
I'm not sure about that sign DR singdaw....I have heard that everything on the internet IS true.
"Everything on the internet is true." Abraham Lincoln.
-
This new book intrigues me!
-
As usual, I'm a day late and a dollar short.
The answer to the scrambled eggs conundrum is, in a word:
Cream.
ZERO carbs, and makes the best scrambled eggs ever. And use plenty of butter, also zero carbs.
Heavy cream, or whipping cream if they don't have heavy. Carbs should still be listed as 0 or <1.
-
That book looks fascinating, DR elmore3003.

I've seen and read "To Kill A Mockingbird." Add that to my list!

Jim Steinman has died. Loved his songs for Meat Loaf. He did write several musicals, including Dance of the Vampires.

Oh, no. He also wrote songs for "Streets of Fire (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DP8TFjA6QQc)." I love that soundtrack!
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep.
-
Top of my list would be Rosemary's Baby and To Kill a Mockingbird for sure.

Top of my list would be Rosemary's Baby and To Kill a Mockingbird for sure.
I cannot believe I forgot "Rosemary's Baby" or "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" and "Psycho!"
-
Rebecca is another I forgot.
-
Waiting for the verdict
-
Wow.
-
A just verdict from Minneapolis.
-
Good!
-
Justice has been served in this case. May it be so in many more cases still pending.

It wasn’t supposed to get hot today. It did anyway.

It wasnt supposed to get hot today. It did anyway.
It's pretty warm here in Tumwater.
-
:)
-
I like all of the books mentioned today for the TOD.
I will add:
My Cousin Rachel
Gone With The Wind
Come And Get It
Another vote for Rosemary's Baby.....
-
It is SNOWING here....YES I said SNOWING.
-
Travel vibes for DR JANE.
Thanks. All went well and we even arrived a bit early.
-
We unpacked.
-
Went for a walk at the fort.
-
Watched the small planes take off & land.
-
There was a military helicopter parked at the airport which was an unusual sight.
-
Then did grocery shopping.
-
:)
;D

I'm not sure about that sign DR singdaw....I have heard that everything on the internet IS true.
"Everything on the internet is true." Abraham Lincoln.
So true.

It is SNOWING here....YES I said SNOWING.
It is supposed to snow here tomorrow and I am freaking out. I put my boots away weeks ago. I was wearing shorts outside 2 weeks ago. What on earth is going on?!?!

I stopped using butter & just use a wee bit of olive oil.

They have lowered the age of eligibility for the covid vaccinations to 45. So I should be able to make an appointment starting tomorrow.

Ted Nugent says he has COVID-19 after claiming the pandemic is not real (https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2021/04/20/ted-nugent-covid-positive-no-vaccine/7305372002/).
HA! HA! HA! :))
-
Picked up a couple of packages and did more Indiegogo stuff - it's really hard because I keep missing stuff. Thankfully, I caught an omission for a thank you in the booklet, so that will be fixed, thankfully.
-
Once I've got ever perk and person on the list, then I'll spend a day or two doing it by name because many had more than one perk.

I just read that. Unfortunately he is still a jerk.

Continuing my tradition of shedding body parts willy nilly I am now two teeth lighter
-
And the numbing is wearing off

Auuuugh! I’m sorry to hear this

I can’t think of anything for the TOD

Gratuitous Post #83

Good night, friends.

Glad you have arrived home safely, DR Jane. It sounds like it was a wonderful trip.
Thank you, it was.
-
This evening is too lovely a spring day not to go for an after dinner walk.
-
Dental vibes, Vixmom.

That's funny!! ;D

Dental vibes, Vixmom.
~~~DITTO!!~~~
Let's push on ...
-
Four!
I went to my first dance class in more than a year. It was strange. But it was fun. I wonder if I'll be sore in the morning.
This had me laughing through to the end.
-
Watching two more bits from Musical of Musicals. Haven’t revised my opinion. In fact, the Jerry Herman was the worst because nothing was melodic. They missed Herman’s genius entirely.
This had me laughing through to the end.
That was great! Thanks for sharing the link, John!
-
And now, I need to go to Costco, so I shall.
Be back later.
-
Things I learned today: I have topped off on chicken Caesar salads no matter where they're from. I had to take a break from the Indiegogo organizing - madness.
But I think I have everything transferred, Indiegogo-wise, all addresses and stuff, so now I have to spend hours going through and consolidating everything by name for those who get multiple things, so that we don't have to go searching through the document over and over and over again. Then I have to e-mail all the 10-CD perk people and get their lists.
-
Good sorting everything out, BK.
-
Time to go read.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
Good night, all.
-
Oh crap.
-
Another bad night of no posts.
-
And, come to think of it, no posters.
-
A beautiful day, weather-wise, here in Puyallup.
-
Tomorrow is suppose to be a few degrees warmer tomorrow.
-
But tomorrow is the last day of our heat wave.
-
Thursday it will cloud over.
-
And Friday, the rain will return.
-
For all of the weekend.
-
I have a call in to the Governor’s office about requiring Jane and Keith to head back east.
-
I have been loving this weather.
-
Sorry about your snow forecast, Jennifer.
-
I really need to sit down and do my income tax.
-
I know I will need to pay.
-
So, that has slowed me down.
-
I guess I binge watched the NIGHT IN THE MUSEUM movies.
-
I didn’t realize there was three movies.
-
One more post.
-
P. A. G. E. F. I. V. E.
-
They barely managed to get Mickey Rooney and Robin Williams in the film.
-
They were actually entertaining.
-
Silly, but funny.
-
Interesting to see Rami Malek playing King Tut, or whatever.
-
That was pre-Oscar, of course.
-
BK, Anthony Hopkins was on Stephen Colbert last night.
-
That is a talk show.
-
Stephen said that Hopkins performance in THE FATHER was one of the finest performances he had ever seen on the screen.
-
Obviously, he never saw my Scrooge.
-
Well,I have done my duty.
-
I have nothing else to say to my missing posters.
-
Good night.
-
But tomorrow is the last day of our heat wave.
Good!
-
And Friday, the rain will return.
Nice. :)
-
Obviously, he never saw my Scrooge.
Obviously!
-
