Well, you've read the notes, the notes were down and adventurous, and now it is time for you to post until the down cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: APOTHEGM!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
It is nice to have Dino back.
-
Happy Birthday to DR Freddie!
-
Today, I'm going to my mom's to play Phase 10. It didn't work out to play on Friday this week, so it'll be today. We're also meeting earlier in the evening, so we may play more games. We'll see.
-
And now, I'm off to bed and will sleep in until I decide to get up!
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a nice night of sleep, and to my delight the cats behaved very nicely. Annabelle still sneezes, but she's eating, and she seems healthier and friskier than she has been in some time. She's moved her sleeping locale from the top of the bookcases to a big fluffy pillow next to me, and she seems content to lie there all night while Thatch and Stella nap with me for a bit, then run off to create mischief before coming back to sleep a little more.
-
DR vixmom, I thought DR Jeanne's plan was excellent, so I am quite sorry to hear it's not a possibility.
-
DR singdaw, I know of the Selling Britten book, but I don't think I have it. I've always wanted a book on the English Opera Group with lots of production photos, and I'm surprised it hasn't been done by now.
-
Last night I started watching a Season 20 episode of Midsomer Murders about killings at a comic con-type event, but I wasn't in the mood. I turned to PBS and watched an episode from several earlier seasons.
-
The night before I tried to watch Christopher Wheeldon's ballet of Cinderella, but I didn't care for it; the Prokofiev score was too mangled and reassembled for Craig Lucas' torturous story with too many backstories and characters and an indecision on how much of the Brothers Grimm version to use instead of Perrault's. I was not happy.
-
Today I must prepare for my Tuesday radiology appointment by filling out a shitload of forms before I can get back to Kern's Oh, Boy!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I'm up early this Sunday morning because Nathan and I are going to go up to the area's largest Sunday-only flea market and do our first walk-through of the season. It will be my first time to do this kind of thing since late 2019, and it's the perfect day for it. If I come back with any treasures, you will read it here first. What I'll probably come back with is just a belly full of breakfast foods, but you never know.
-
Our cats have always slept with me, some more often than others, but I'm generally the cat whisperer in this jernt. Now it's just Mikey, and he's always been a snuggly lap cat, but now even more so since Poe has been gone. I can nearly always count on him being there when I'm ready to get into bed. And he's a solid sleeper. He wants to be on top of the covers, and nestles into my side, butt first. Once there, he's there all night, with hardly any moving around, and if he makes a trip to the food bowl or the litter box, he comes right back up and resumes his spot, quietly. He used to take a few nights off now and then to sleep somewhere else in the house, but lately it's been every night.

How old is Mikey?

Happy Birthday Freddie!
-
Kitty cleanup is finished and the bed is made. I bought a much needed waste basket for my bedside, and that's now set up. After I take my meds I will take the litter and recyclables to the basement and pick up any mail from yesterday.

TCB. I have discussed the matter with both brothers. Only the residential department will be left after the elder retires. I have expressed my interest in staying they have expressed their interest in keeping me but I am aware that it will be completely dependent on how much business there is in the department since the other members of the department have been with him for years 10+ years. So hopefully we are looking at a robust economy with lots of active residential real estate work in my geographical area. They are also limited in that they have only 3 lenders with which they work. I am used to working with firms with relationships with between 10-30 Lenders so it feels very eggs in one basket to me and that frightens me a little.
-
Good morning, all.

Happy birthday, Freddie! Hope it’s a great one.
-
Happy Birthday to DR Freddie!
Thanks, George! I feel younger as Freddie than as FJL somehow.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Happy birthday, Freddie! Hope it’s a great one.
Thanks, John. Skip's doing the hard work.
-
A very very happy HHW birthday to DR Freddie!
-
I just had to clean two rooms. Skip bought sponges from Boxed that have smilie faces cut into them It is like in Mary Poppins, it helps the attitude while scouring.

~~~CONTINUED EXCELLENT VIBES & XYLOPHONES~~~ for bk for a smooth and trouble-free move tomorrow!!!!!
and since the CDC told us last year to time hand washing to Happy Birthday sung twice, that makes a strange subliminal difference to the chore of cleaning.
Off to see what needs doing this fine day.
-
BK - Thank you for the greetings in the notes and in FB!
It is wonderful to see the people in FB who know your work show such respect to you and support your work with in spirit and indiegogo.
Some of the young folks just don't realize what you've contributed to the work they're enjoying.
Envelope and moving vibes for MR BK.
Filling out the forms vibes for DR VIXMOM.
Is there perhaps a new market that your company doesn't now service, DR VIXMOM.
Maybe an internet search of similar companies would reveal a department you could make your own at The Brothers, Inc. Maybe dealing with church properties......
-
Continued job vibes for DR ELMORE.
To answer the questions from DR JEANNE & DR TCB.
1. They make themselves known by noises and moving small things around. Pets usually notice them first.....in my brother's case, a small guitar case was broken and there were lights and reflections where there was no source for them.
2. They needed to be called. Candles and offerings and then a statement of purpose and a calling of those specifically involved or present....
3. Usually I use a pendulum to begin with and YES and NO questions to establishment their identities. You have to be stern and specific to get only those you are interested in talking to.
4. After contact is made and establishment - they do not use physical voices - I usually use automatic writing. All present can ask questions, although not all are answered.
5. Doesn't happen in my family any more than anyone else's family - but usually folks just let it go.
-
Thanks for answering those questions, DR Jrand70. I was curious, as well.
-
~~~ULTRA-STRENGTH MEDICAL VIBES~~ for this week for DR elmore3003!!!
-
I answer customer service calls all day long at work. And when our systems go down, which is a lot more frequently than one would like, we still have to take calls. There is nothing more unpleasant than having to tell someone that you cannot help them. Frustrating on both ends. And having to do it over and over.

Since I got the cats in 2017, I no longer hear noises in the apartment, like the lady speaking what I think is something mittel European or the slamming closet door, but I occasionally see the cats watching or reacting to something, and occasionally after midnight I will see small floating ball of light.

Happy Sunday to one and all! There's a brand new Broadway Radio Show up on this here website for your listening pleasure. New Releases for Spring 2021. 12 new theatre related recordings for you to sample....cast recordings, solo vocalists and a couple of fun compilation albums! Enjoy!!!

How old is Mikey?
Best estimate is between 12 and 13 years. We adopted him in March 2010 from a gal who worked at our vet. She had rescued him off the street in Hempstead LI, and the vet guesstimated he was a year or maybe a year and a half then.

I’m back from the flea market which was huge today, as was the attendance. Parking was insane, and people were clearly ready to be out doing things like this on a beautiful day. We walked the whole place, and not a single thing called to either one of us. Which is okay, at least we’re not buying stuff for the sake of bringing crap home.
It was great to be out, and I must say it was equally great that we still live in an area in which every one of the thousands of people there was wearing a mask, as required, without complaint. I think our outdoor mask wearing mandate goes away later in the month, so that will be interesting, but I’m just glad I live in this part of the country right about now.
-
We patronized one of the regular food vendors and had a “Long Dog”. I had chili and onions on mine, because the hot dog is a pleasant enough but cheap quality item, and I was more interested to taste whatever chili they used. It definitely wasn’t the Hormel I’m used to, and I certainly didn’t expect that. It was good, verging on a sweeter taste, but I enjoyed it with the onions and a tiny squirt of spicy brown mustard.
-
Sunday morning greetings! Better hit "Post" before it's after noon!
-
Sorry to have been away for a few days. I had a big crafty project to complete for a luncheon tomorrow (finished last night!) and yesterday we had a small porch picnic to celebrate the 6th birthday of our great nephew J. He came over with his Mom and Grandma and we ordered lunch from The Jug. It was a beautiful day, so we we stayed outside even though all the adults have been vaccinated.
-
Happiest of birthdays to DR Freddie!

Today I must prepare for my Tuesday radiology appointment by filling out a shitload of forms before I can get back to Kern's Oh, Boy!
Do you have time sometime today for a phone call?
-
I have also spent quite bit of time lately in the "Way Back" machine, thinking about my high school drama teacher, because I learned Friday that he passed away in mid-April:
www.tributearchive.com/obituaries/20817790/Roger-Allen-Moldovan (http://www.tributearchive.com/obituaries/20817790/Roger-Allen-Moldovan)
He made me the actress DR Elmore met in 1974 and he made me the theatre-goer I hope to be again someday.
RIP, Mr. Moldovan :'(

I honestly don't know yet because of all I need to accomplish today. Joshie is coming over tomorrow morning, and hes got a bit of work for me and he's helping me with the Big Ladder and cat food. I have to organize all of tat this afternoon so it will turn into a lengthy process tomorrow.

In the course of discovering this news, I had a six-degrees-of-separation encounter and that's what I want to talk to you about. But it will keep until you have some things off your plate. Just let me know!
-
I am sorry for your loss, DR Ginny.

Good morning.
-
Happy Birthday, Freddie!
-
I miss Midsomer Murders. We watched the entire series through the early months of the pandemic.
-
Good morning, DR Laura.

Today we will hear the ministerial candidate preach, then we will have a quick vote to make him the official new minister.
We have had him as a guest speaker several times. Nice guy. Young with a family.
But one thing I'm worried a little bit about is that he has -- gasp! -- visible tattoos. I'm not sure what the conservative folks will think.
-
What will the conservative folk do?
A Camelot reference.

From DR TCB:
The PA I saw today was very nice and kind of cute. He carefully counted out exactly how many pills I would need between today and Wednesday. A total of 12 tablets. The people at Rite Aid must of thought that I was being penalized or censored.
;D
-
Again from TCB:
The PA’s wife (or husband) must be a little insecure. His wedding band was about the same size as a life ring off of the Titanic.
:)) I am guessing he picked out his own ring.

Thank you, DR Singdaw. Mr. Moldovan was only at my high school for 2 years - my junior and senior years. He came from and returned to a rival Detroit school. I didn't stay in touch with him and his first wife after I moved from the Detroit area, but did look him up on Facebook occasionally and that's how I learned Friday of his passing.

DR Ginny, the cat food is sorted and most of the forms are filled out. Between 3:00-3:15 I feed the cats. Between 4: 30 I eat my dinner. At 5:00 I clean up my dinner and theirs. At 6:00 I lie down, chill with the cats, and never get up until 5:45 tomorrow morning. The pandemic has me a complete creature of habit.

Olivier Messiaen, Serge Koussevitzky, Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, Lukas Foss.

Decided to be adventurous for food today - we'll see how that works out. Will probably be here in about forty-five minutes.

I am just finishing up the movie First Cow, which, by all rights, I should have loved. It's a food movie, of sorts. But it was painful, and too many of the scenes were so dark, i couldn't see what was going on. Had the same problem trying to watch it at night.
So, I had the subtitles on and that just made it slower going somehow. A true slog.
-
I'm going to start up something lighter. Clark Gable and Hedy Lamarr in "Comrade X." Said to be the "funniest love comedy since 'Ninotchka.'"
-
It's got Oscar Homolka, so it's got to be funny, right?
-
Onward ...

It was unanimous.
-
I made that TicTok grape tomato feta thing that's been going around the internet. It was good.
Yes, I'm a bit late to the game. But I got more grape tomatoes in my vegetable box yesterday. So I thought I'd try it.
-
DR CHAS SMITH I enjoyed your cat story and your adventure to the Fleas.
-
Yes DR ELMORE cats are especially sensitive to and for.....and some spirits if you believe in such a thing are drawn to them.
-
Condolences for DR GINNY.
-
Good afternoon!

Happy Birthday, DR Freddie!

Thanks for the report. I almost made it last week for the same reason. I ended up using the tomatoes in a soup.

We got out for a good walk earlier this morning, as the prediction was for worse weather this afternoon and evening. And they were right.

It started well and had so much potential. Sadly it went dark instead of being fun.
-

Hmmm, I don't remember this. It is hard to imagine I have never seen it.

It was fun until the plot interfered. Now, with 20 minutes left, it's not really a comedy anymore.

Daren, two disappointing movies in a row.

I am not happy with the latest Grisham novel as I do not like the direction it has gone. I am done reading him.

Initially I liked the story even while I didn't think much of the writing.

Happy Birthday, Freddie!
Thank you so much, Laura!

Thanks so much, Ginny!

Thank you so much, Jrand!

I think this evening's movie will be better. It's a documentary called An Accidental Studio and traces George Harrison's second career as a movie mogul.
-
Good night, friends.
-
The end of the book got better.
-
Tonight we are watching the last 3 episodes of You, Me, and the Apocalypse.
-
Finished with my viewing and with my viewing I'm finished.
-
I ordered shrimp scampi from Barone's - it was really good, very low in calories, and very carb friendly. Came with some vegetables.
-
I'm now twenty-one albums into the Ormandy set. Much brilliant music making.
-
Watching the extras of An Accidental Studio. Interviews with Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin have some very funny bits as well as some better insights into George Harrison as a person than the movie had. And it's true, the movie is about the studio. But Harrison is actually more interesting than the story of the studio.

Five!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
A late HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DR Freddie!
I hope you had a great day!
-
Jrand, thanks for the answers regarding the disturbances. I see I wasn't the only one who was interested.
-
MEGA, MEGA MOVING VIBES to BK and crew tomorrow!
-
Jane, I meant to thank you for the information about the ventless dryer. It was an interesting little video.
-
Started leafing through a weird little Texas cookbook that isn't even the size of a postcard. There's a recipe in it for Buttermilk Pound Cake, which sounds delicious to me. It's very simple. In addition to the butter, sugar and buttermilk, there's merely eggs, vanilla and lemon extract. Plus, flour, baking soda and baking powder. I may have to try that.
-
It ain't keto. Or diabetic friendly.
-
Condolences to DR Ginny. It's always hard to lose someone who was influential in your life.

Condolences to DR Ginny. It's always hard to lose someone who was influential in your life.
Yes, Ginny. My sympathies.

Has anyone heard anything about when CALL THE MIDWIFE is returning? I expected it to be April, but haven't heard a thing. I believe the show was renewed for three more years.

Hi, John G.
-
Listening to Handel's Water Music - delightful recording, but now I'm thirsty.
-
But not for water.
-
Think I'll try one of the new Sparkling Ice flavors.
-
I'm very tired and must to bed.
Good night.
-
Good night, all.

Today, I'm going to my mom's to play Phase 10. It didn't work out to play on Friday this week, so it'll be today. We're also meeting earlier in the evening, so we may play more games. We'll see.
Well, we didn't play any more games than usual (which is three), but I won two of them! :D
-
That hasn't happened in a while.
-
My mom won the other game.
-
I came home and for the first time in WAY too long, I took most of my recyclable cardboard and paper to the dumpster that's out behind my condo.

The entrance to my place is now more open and clear. ::)

I made that TicTok grape tomato feta thing that's been going around the internet. It was good.
Yes, I'm a bit late to the game. But I got more grape tomatoes in my vegetable box yesterday. So I thought I'd try it.
When I first read this, I was thinking that you had made a TicTok, grape, tomato, feta thing. :o

Daren, two disappointing movies in a row.
Who's Daren??
-
:)
Beautiful kitty!
-
Yes DR ELMORE cats are especially sensitive to and for.....and some spirits if you believe in such a thing are drawn to them.
Sasha sees, I assume, Nicky quite often, or perhaps someone who passed away in this condo. Still, it must be a friendly spirit.
Dracko (Buddy) is too busy watching the TV to notice any spirits.

Happy Birthday, dear Freddie!
-
Listening to Handel's Water Music - delightful recording, but now I'm thirsty.
That Water Music makes me have to tinkle.
-
Moaving vibes to BK for tomorrow.
-
Condolences to DR Ginny.

The entrance to my place is now more open and clear. ::)
Oh lord, the dining area in my condo is stacked with cardboard boxes. A lot of them are leftover from the more, but Amazon and Chewy are also responsible.
I am going to post a notice on our condo’s Facebook page offering to pay anyone with a pickup to take them down the street to the recycling center.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Finishing up the beautiful Tchaikovsky violin concerto and then comes the Saint-Saens cello concerto.
-
And then I wrote...
-
I'm debating whether I should have an Atkins eighty-calorie treat. I think perhaps I'll win this debate and have one.
-
And why shouldn't I?
-
That Tchaikovsky could write a tune.

Hello, George.
-
Where has George got to?
-
George, have you ever seen the gay film SHELTER? I came across two entries on (I think) Netflix for a documentary called SHELTER: WHERE ARE THEY NOW.
Unfortunately both entries turned out to be the movie itself, with no documentary in sight. So, I gave up looking, and just watched the film again.
-
Has anyone ever seen a bootleg DVD of PRINCE ON BROADWAY available?
-
George must have gone out photographing posts!

I just removed boxes from the front entrance. I still have the rest of the house and my garage to deal with...which I've needed to do for YEARS! :o

Nope. I was watching YouTube videos. ::)

Hello, George.
Hi, Tom.
-
What is the name of the place with the grilled hot dogs? I forgot to write it down. Do they have chili cheese dogs?

I don't have Netflix, but it's available through Amazon Prime Video (not free, though).

Eagan's on Capitol Blvd., in Tumwater. There are other Eagan's, and Big Tom's used to be related, but not anymore. They don't all have the same food, so if you're interested in the chili dogs with cheese (and onions, too), head to the Tumwater joint.

I couldn't find the documentary, just this movie...and other unrelated movies with the same name.
