Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both old and new again, and now it is time for you to post until the old and new cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PEACH!
-
Congrats to Robert finally moving, at BK's urging, into a new abode!
-
Personally, I never want to move again. :P
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Another night of not enough sleep.

I did order a new walker yesterday, and I do hope it arrives soon. All medical hell broke losse yesterday afternoon abd I will need a new one ASAP.
-
Around 4:00 yesterday, Dr Blacksburg's assistant Shon called, and we confirmed the date for the hormone injection last June 17. then he asked if I had had a colonoscopy yet. I hadn't since my doctor had been dragging her feer about my setting an appointment. So I called my HMO and the earliest appointment was in October.
-
So, Shon called my HMO and within minutes Dr. Teng's assistant called me, set up appointments for my lab work next week and nt doctor for the first week of August.
-
God, do I hate Apple. I had to change my password yesterday to get my iMac and MacBook in sync. This morning "Apple Preferences" forced me to change it again. Now Apple will nto accept either password so I'm locked out of my personal info. The popup asks "forgot password" and I click om it. Then I am asked to enter my damned password before I can change it. What the hell can I do?
-
Is there Apple help available by phone?
-
Is there Apple help available by phone?
I figured it out. The password got rejected because I needed to use the one I use to log onto my computer each day. It's different from Apple. Oy!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I had that same confusion over those two passwords just the other day. Hate that.
-
TOD
Don't know yet, but last night I had the hankering to give The Last of Sheila a spin, even though I wasn't 100% in the mood for it. But it had been a long while and there were a few things I specifically wanted to see. I do wish those Warner boys would release a good Blu-ray.
EDIT: Okay, I really do know how to spell the lady's name. Oy!
-
It's another beautiful day and there's some more yard to mow, so I'll be doing that. Later, for indoors fun, I'm probably going to tackle the fridge -- meaning, take everything out, wipe it down inside, and put it all back **REORGANIZED**. Now isn't that exciting?
-
I shall do it to some very good music. Haven't decided what, yet.
-
So, that link DR singdaw posted, about Dover Books being out of business?
I went back to reread that and check something, but didn't find the article. The post appeared to have been removed. Using DR singdaw's link again, sure enough, it's not there. Slipped Disc is a crazy site, but I wonder what that's all about.

Excellent news On the new Contract Singdaw!

I just hung up the phone with the unemployment caseworker

He says I am all set now!
-
So thank you all for the vibes
-
He says I am all set now!
Glory be!
-
That is so weird, DR ChasSmith. And Google isn't turning up much information, either.
-
I would say I'm up, but since I haven't slept even thirty minutes...
-
I haven't had heartburn or acid reflux like this for over two years. Why I have it now is anyone's guess and I really should have gone to the all-night Rite-Aid to get Pepcid, which is what I just did, although I got their Rite-Aid brand - same ingredients, 7.50 cheaper. I've taken two so far and will try for at least a few hours of sleep. Not good. Plus a terrible allergy attack at five made it twice as bad that that's just starting to subside.
-
I'm sorry to hear this, bk.
Not what you need right now.
Or any time, really.
-
I oiled the walker and unlocked it, but the problem is the locking mechanism. I'm happy to have a new one for getting out and about, and I'll keep the old one for getting about the apartment.
-
He says I am all set now!
Have you tried to certify a claim yet?
-
DR JEANNE I would imagine the Full Moon last night and it's lead-up has caused some difficulties.....but they should subside now.
-
Good news from MR BK about the singer.
-
Good news from DR VIXMOM about her unemployment and The Vixadad's INS result.
-
Walker vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
I enjoyed reading about DR GINNY's trips for crafting!
-
Last night after running through Grovel, Grovel for the first time, I didn't like the point at which I had the women doing an action.
So I thought for a moment - and then asked Miss Diva to look at the music and see where SHE thought it should happen.
I figured if I asked her advice and gave her something to do, she might stop trying to do MY job.
And it seems to have worked. And she did choose my second choice in the music for the action.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for BK.
-
Vibes for Elmore.
-
And vibes for all the rest of us.

From DR Singdaw:
I had hoped to hop back on the treadmill today, but I think I'm going to have to give it another day or so. Definite improvement, though.
That is hard after all of your hard work. I hope you can return to the treadmill today. Try lowering your speed with a higher incline to protect your toe.
-
Grovel, grovel vibes for JRand. I like the way that sounds.
-
DR George I expected if anyone had read Project Hail Mary it would have been you.
-
OXYGEN AND BREATHING VIBES FOR DR TCB!
-
Friday afternoon greetings! When we got home yesterday our neighbor Rosie brought over the mail and papers she'd collected for us and told us that our neighbor Marilyn had passed away on Tuesday. We're about to go to her funeral.
-
I enjoyed reading about DR GINNY's trips for crafting!
Well, DR JRand, these trips are more about collecting supplies (a hobby in itself) than about actual crafting! But this afternoon I'm taking a virtual class in which we'll make some cards. I may be a little late for class, but the video will be archived for watching later.
-
I have been remiss offering vibes for DRs Vixmom, Elmore, TCB and all others who need them.
VIBES for ALL!!!

Great idea, DR Jane. Thank you!

Yesterday the parts to repair our car were FINALY ordered.
-
{{{CONDOLENCES}}} to DR Ginny.
-
As warned the insurance company was slow and then a discrepancy in the estimate cost had to be negotiated.

OXYGEN AND BREATHING VIBES FOR DR TCB!
Indeed.

My condolences, Ginny.

Do I know Marilyn? I think I might.
-
DR George I expected if anyone had read Project Hail Mary it would have been you.
Well, I guess I'll read it next. I have only 10% left of my current book, but it's a longish book, so it's taking me longer to get through it.

Goodreads says the hardcover is 476 pages. I might also make it my next book, if reading it on my tablet doesn't mess up Keith's book mark on his tablet. It used to but I think they fixed that issue.

I more than agree. It doesn't help that our rental car has some annoying quirks.

The book I am reading is about the Nazi movement during WW2 in Los Angeles. How did I not know about this bit of history!
It is disturbing as it is too similar to what is happening today.

Yikes! It certainly sounds like it!

Doing a bit of research I found a non-fiction book on the subject,
Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Nazi Plots Against Hollywood and America.
https://www.bloomsbury.com/us/hitler-in-los-angeles-9781620405642/
The chilling, little-known story of the rise of Nazism in Los Angeles, and the Jewish leaders and spies they recruited who stopped it.
No American city was more important to the Nazis than Los Angeles, home to Hollywood, the greatest propaganda machine in the world. The Nazis plotted to kill the city's Jews and to sabotage the nation's military installations: plans existed for hanging twenty prominent Hollywood figures such as Al Jolson, Charlie Chaplin, and Samuel Goldwyn; for driving through Boyle Heights and machine-gunning as many Jews as possible; and for blowing up defense installations and seizing munitions from National Guard armories along the Pacific Coast.
U.S. law enforcement agencies were not paying close attention--preferring to monitor Reds rather than Nazis--and only Leon Lewis and his daring ring of spies stood in the way. From 1933 until the end of World War II, attorney Leon Lewis, the man Nazis would come to call "the most dangerous Jew in Los Angeles," ran a spy operation comprised of military veterans and their wives who infiltrated every Nazi and fascist group in Los Angeles. Often rising to leadership positions, this daring ring of spies uncovered and foiled the Nazi's disturbing plans for death and destruction.
Featuring a large cast of Nazis, undercover agents, and colorful supporting players, Hitler in Los Angeles, by acclaimed historian Steven J. Ross, tells the story of Lewis's daring spy network in a time when hate groups had moved from the margins to the mainstream.

I'm up, I'm up - I went back to bed at seven-thirty and slept until noon. My twenty-four hour Claritin-D is not working as well as it should, but I can't take another one for at least twelve hours. Four-and-a-half hours of sleep - not good at all. And tomorrow is Evil Eye day so I have to be up at eight-thirty. I can sleep until eleven-thirty on Sunday, so that's good, and Monday is mine.

Amazing! I'll have to see if there's a Kindle version.

There is, but my library hasn't purchased it for OverDrive. I did recommend it, though, so we'll see if they buy it. :)
-
My book has gotten boring. The Rainbow is not my favorite Lawrence novel.

My library has it so I put it on my wish list. Pierce didn't have the author at all.

Congratulations to DR GEORGE on getting HEAD.
And since this is a family site - you will have to read yesterday's posts to understand that.

WOW - DR JANE that insurance company is SLOW.....is it one we would know from its television ads?
-
Jane, didn't you say you wrote a little something about Some Days Are Murder? I don't see anything on Goodreads. Was it somewhere else?
-
I am trying to decide on some pre-show and intermission music for JOSEPH.
I don't want to use music from the show - so I would like the opinion of the others here on what might be used. I have sort of settled on EPIC biblical/historical movies like The Ten Commandments and Solomon & Sheba & Cleopatra.....but any suggestions would be welcome.
We usually start the preshow music about 30 minutes before curtain and of course the intermission music is played during the 15-minute intermission.....
-
Friday afternoon greetings! When we got home yesterday our neighbor Rosie brought over the mail and papers she'd collected for us and told us that our neighbor Marilyn had passed away on Tuesday. We're about to go to her funeral.
Do I know Marilyn? I think I might.
Yes, DR Elmore, she was a close friend of Nancy who used to live in our house. She often helped Nancy with the great cast parties we had here.
-
Thank you for your expressions of sympathy at Marilyn’s passing. Her service was very sweet, beginning with the ritual conducted by a group of sorority sisters (many of whom are friends of mine).
-
WOW - DR JANE that insurance company is SLOW.....is it one we would know from its television ads?
We were warned that they are all slow these days because it is done with emails and photos vs an agent going to the body shop and writing up the estimate and coming to an agreement right then.
-
Jane, didn't you say you wrote a little something about Some Days Are Murder? I don't see anything on Goodreads. Was it somewhere else?
I did it on Wednesday and can see it. Sorry, it isn't very long.
-

I am glad it was a nice service and you had mutual friends.

Every other treadmill was being used today at the gym, which meant I had to use one next to someone else. I wore my mask for about 15 minutes, until the other person was conveniently done.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Glad to hear so much good news today-- Bk's singer, Elmore's new walker, Vixmom's unemployment benefits, Singdaw's union contract. That's a lot!
-
Sorry about the passing of your friend, DR Ginny.
-
He says I am all set now!
Have you tried to certify a claim yet?
I was able to certify last week

Last Sunday the problems with my right eye got much worse and I was having trouble seeing enough to read. I was hoping it would settle down, and it did -- a bit. But yesterday I was getting worried and called the ophthalmologist. I didn't think it necessitated an ER visit, but did feel someone needed to check it out. The ophthalmologist agreed, but couldn't fit me in today--he had THIRTY patients scheduled! He suggested I see another doctor there, an optometrist, to dilate me and take a look.
-
The office called this morning and said that Dr Lee (the OD) could see me. I had a little free time so I called my insurance company. Apparently, for anything urgent you're expected to go to Urgent Care or the ER and she wasn't at all sure that the insurance would cover today's visit. What?! I needed a referral from my primary care physician, which had to go through TODAY. Fortunately it did so, but this is one of those things that works fine in theory, but not always in practice. ER waits are notoriously long -- five hours is typical here -- and UC doesn't have ophthalmologists. Plus, I'd be near sick people.

I am glad it was a nice service and you had mutual friends.
Remember, DR Jane, we live in a very small city and have been here a long time. It stands to reason that the teachers, librarians, physicians, attorneys, etc. would know each other.
-
Great idea, DR Jane. Thank you!
Did it work?

Oxygen vibes for TCB

Toe vibes for Singdaw

DR Jeanne, hope your eye problems are not serious.
-
I Ubered over to Beverly Hills and saw Dr Lee. We tried to sort out my symptoms and she's good about answering questions -- a requirement in my book. However, as she was opening an alcohol wipe the alcohol squired in several directions, including into my right eye. Now that stung! She had to rinse out my eye, gave me a couple packs of artificial tears, and instructed me to rinse my eye every few hours for the rest of today.
She didn't see any problems other than the existing ones, but I will need to keep an eye on things, so to speak. And she agreed that it's best to call them if I have an issue, not ER or UC.

With my current eye problems I can relate to this though I have not been that bad. Sleep makes a big difference for me. I hope it isn't serious and your vision improves.

I am glad to be home. Old, chronic health issues are bad enough -- I don't need new ones!

And I got even less sleep last night than BK did.

I guess the rest of the news was good.

EYE HEALING VIBES FOR DR JEANNE!

After four nights in a row of barely sleeping, I slept last night :)

Thank you, DRs Jane, Ginny, and Vixmom.
-
Breathing vibes to TCB.

Toe vibes to Singdaw.

TOD:
I've been watching an old (1981) TV series called BERGERAC, starring a young John Nettles. I like the show and I like him in it. I may watch that.
-
Car repair vibes to Jane & Keith. I hope you have the car back soon and are satisfied with the repair.
-
It's time for me to rinse my eye and then rest my eyes.
TTFN.

Thanks Jeanne.
I do hope your eye feels better and you sleep well tonight.

~~~EYE VIBES~~~ for DR Jeanne!!!!
-
DR Jane - didn't get that far. When I put on a sneaker, it was still quite irritated, and so I didn't go.
I did, however, get in 10,000 steps walking in place today! In my stocking feet.
-
We watched Something’s Gotta Give tonight. Mom enjoyed it, but got lost in some of the plot twists. I enjoyed it, as I always do. Diane Keaton is just perfect.
-
Good night, all.
Congratulations to DR GEORGE on getting HEAD.
And since this is a family site - you will have to read yesterday's posts to understand that.
Thanks, Jrand! :))
That's great, Jane!
Well, my niece won BOTH games of Phase 10 tonight!
-
She also won won BOTH games of Phase 10 last week! :o
-
That's never happened before...that anyone can remember.
-
Good for her.
-
I came in 3rd place for the first game, and dead last for the second. :P
-
But we ate and chatted and had a good time, as usual. :)
-
My sister's boyfriend forwarded this joke to me through FB Messenger. I had to do a screen capture, but pretty darned funny! CAUTION! There is "language"!
-
:)) :)) :))
-
And I just noticed that Jeanne passed a momentous moment! Sorry I wasn't able to capture the actual moment, but here it is!
-
I captured the image on my phone. That's why it's HUGE! ;D
-
So, is anyone watching the Olympics?
-
I recorded the opening ceremony, but haven't watched it yet, and I'm not watching anything right now.
-
Wrote the notes, watched a couple of movies, did a Gelson's run, and am now listening to music.
-
Vibes to all of us - condolences to those who need them.
I muist say, that upgrade to Catalina has certainly speeded up this aging computer. No complaints here.
Oh, no. :( I wonder what happened.
Hi, Tom.
~~~SIX!!!~~~

So, is anyone watching the Olympics?
Yes.

This was posted just yesterday: King County health officer recommends people wear masks in indoor public spaces (https://www.king5.com/article/news/health/coronavirus/king-county-health-officer-jeff-duchin-mask-recommendation/281-9376dfe7-b1c8-47f3-bbe9-9d4cc59b9379).
Three weeks after King County dropped its masking directive, the county health officer again recommends all people wear masks in indoor public spaces.

So, is anyone watching the Olympics?

Are you enjoying them...so far?
