Well, you've read the notes, the notes smelled, and now it is time for you to post until the smelly cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PALAVER!
-
Great news (hopefully) about the fix for the smell! I certainly wouldn't want to have to smell something like that for very long, at all! :P
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Nice pictures in the notes BK
-
I hope the new filter fixes the problem
-
George, I’ve read American Gods but I’ve only seen one scene from the series.
-
It happened to be a love scene between a young gentleman and a male god.
-
I must admit to having been impressed by the god’s ……attributes
-
I actually meant to find the series and watch it from the beginning but I kept forgetting
-
Which service carries it?
-
My sleeping patterns are completely messed up here I am awake again at 430 am
-
Good morning, all!
-
Walking is worse today than yesterday, and every joint aches. I'm hoping things will ease up the more I get around today.
-
The excitement this morning? An Amazon Fresh delivery. New empty boxes should keep my three devils entertained.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all.
-
In the notes, BK sez:
I’m pretty sure the editor used only the matinee performance, even though I’d told him he had to use the To Kill a Mockingbird suite from the evening because there were mistakes in the matinee.
Communication with those who make these kinds of videos happen is a constant battle.
They INVARIABLY pick the wrong ones.
-
Is this really a Friday? I guess it is. Nothing to report on the TOD front for this week, up to and including today. Things should improve tomorrow.
-
Boy, talk about two days being lost...
Wednesday was the horrible allergy day, and yesterday was the horrible diverticulitis day.
Like I said, the latter only rears its ugly head once a year or so, but this was a tough one. I literally ate nothing all day until about 7 pm when I ate half a turkey and mayo on sourdough. What I had never realized, until I'd suffered with the aching gut for about three hours in the morning, is that extra strength Tylenol is your friend in riding these episodes out. There isn't much you can do except drink liquids, don't eat high fiber and seeds, etc., and let it pass. That's if it isn't an extreme case requiring medical attention which thankfully has never been the case for me.
-
Tonight I go to see my friend's Godspell. I've never been totally crazy about the show, but that will be most enjoyable nonetheless.
-
Enjoying GODSPELL vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
-
I hope MR BK has found the source of the smelly smell.

July is almost gone!
ACT TWO actually looked okay last night. We went through the blocking for EACH song.....then ran the song.....then ran it again.
The timing for act (counting just the final running of each song) was about 46 minutes.....which is fine. The costumes looked nice....for the most part.
So....onto Act One the same way on Monday. Tonight is a MUSIC ONLY rehearsal so that the performers can get the notes back into their noggins. Since I have a wedding rehearsal, I am unable to attend. There will also be a final fitting on THE COAT.
-
I watched DR DRUXY's movie IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD'S FAIR last night.....it also featured some guy named Elivs or something like that.
-
Last night I watched some of the Olympics, then fell asleep to [DR Jrand70 beat me to it] a couple of Elvis movies on TCM.
I'd always remembered those movies being very colorful, but now, watching "as an adult", I am amazed at the attention paid to color and lighting design. Nearly every shot seems set up for maximum eye-candy effect, and the colors jump off your screen. To use a "today" word: they "pop", a word applies perfectly to these 1960s films. The various costume and background colors are always perfectly in balance and perfectly lit, and not once does any of it seem overdone.
Of course you can say that about many many films of the 1950s and 1960s. Hitchcock's color ones are very much that way, as are the Doris Day comedies and so many others. But I was impressed with the care taken on these films made for the teenage market. Scripts aside, they weren't throwaways.

How about the blazer, white shirt and dark narrow tie he had on throughout the movie. Sometimes the blazer (or "sport jacket") came off, and sometimes the tie was loosened. But holy cow.
-
Just another thing I was cognizant of for my first time watching that one.
Now I have to wonder if he stays outfitted like that in all the others...
-
I believe DR Druxy stays outfitted in the same thing throughout, too.
-
I’m awake!
-
I also am freshly bageled
-
Toasted onion to be precise , with a nice schmear
-
and a cuppa
-
According to the NYS website they have yet to release any $$ to moi
-
Good thing I don’t need it to pay my rent, or eat
-
Good morning!
-
Amazon Fresh arrived in two cartons, and before I could empty a carton, Annabelle leaped into it and declared it her property. She was not happy when I evicted her and broke down the cartons.
-
I don't believe I have ever seen an Elvis Presley movie and don't ever plan to.
-
A conductor I have known for the past 40 years has started a Facebook page, which I call The Conductor's Vanity Page. I joined it because we've been acquainted for such a long time, but I stopped posting there because everyone's opinion - if it's not his - gets a rather rude putdown. It gives all the subscribers a chance to watch him pontificate and his acolytes a moment to kiss the royal butt.
It's truth universally acknowledged that there can be only one star in the room.

I agree. The few I’ve seen lately are solidly made and beautiful to behold, everything except for the scripts.
-
I also am freshly bageled
That should be a euphemism.
-
Tonight is the first Olympic event of the 40+1 high school anniversary. I’m still trying to figure out why I am going two nights in a row, other than to talk with the friends I’m going with each night. Joyce leaves on vacation tomorrow, so she can only go tonight. Donna gets back from vacation tomorrow and can only go then.

:)
Or what my family calls white trash.

Oh yes DR CHAS SMITH.....Mr Presley was always impeccably costumed in the latest style. And he wore his clothes very well for most of his career.
I like his jacket/tie combinations as well. Even in THE TROUBLE WITH GIRLS set in 1927 - he was costumed in the latest 1969 styles with just a nod to the period.

I think he looked best in his Hal Wallis/Paramount movies....wardrobe by Edith Head. A more casual shot with one of my favorite of his Leading Ladies - Joan Blackman.

Yes....yes.....every time an Elvis movie came out, I was right there at the drive-in to watch.....and I saved my baby sitting and lawn mowing money to buy the soundtracks.....
Both of my parents were also fans - so a trip to the Center-Brook (half way between Centerton and Brooklyn) or the Maplecroft or the Templeton drive-in was always in order when a Presley movie came into town!
-
I thought of something I had to do on the computer.....by the time I opened the file folder - I forgot what I was looking for.
-
In the know-your-audience department: my local H-E-B groceries are now selling a butter tortilla-scented candle.
-
I also am freshly bageled
That should be a euphemism.
Who said it’s not?
-
I think the only Elvis movie I ever saw was A Change of Habit which we saw at the drive in as a family. My dad liked Mary Tyler Moore
-
From John:
Found a recipe in one of Mom’s old cookbooks called Soufflé Meat Salad. Two cups of meat and Miracle Whip, plus celery, parsley and onion, all suspended in lemon gelatin.
Be sure and let us know what you think once you try this ;) :P
-
DR George please let me know if the book is good.
-
I hope the new filter fixes the problem
DITTO!

My sleeping patterns are completely messed up here I am awake again at 430 am
I think you slept so much due to your great need to catch up on sleep. I hope you can get your patterns where they should be.

I am glad you didn't need to go to the hospital to recover.

I believe this is considered his worst movie. I don't doubt that is is.
-
I am sure DR Laura will return. She is fine, just dealing with house stuff.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep. Shortly I shall be on my way to storage.

LOL! Best news of the day.

That is glorious DR ELMORE.
-
I think it will reveal that the Emperor has no clothes at the least....and that he is a scammer and really doesn't have any money at all at the best.
Of course rich folks always poor mouth on their tax returns....well...that's what I've heard.....
-
Page Three....I am astonished at the lack of folks on HHW who regularly attended Mr Elvis Presley's movies.....now by the time of Harum Scarum, even we die hard fans had had just about enough...
-
Back from storage - CD booklets are signed and she'll start getting out the remainder of the Indiegogo stuff this weekend. Hoo and ray!
-
Bought an air filter and Grant will be by later to install. Meanwhile, I won't use the air conditioning because if that's the problem, then that's what's bringing the smell into the house. I don't really smell anything right now and it hasn't been on since eight last night.

It happened to be a love scene between a young gentleman and a male god.
That was the first scene that hooked me, too. ;)

MR BK is always busy.

I remember going to many of them with my best friend when I was young & later with Keith.
-
Last night five intruders, in two separate cars, jumped the fence around the pool to go for a swim.
-
The police were called and sent the intruders on their way.
-
Apparently one of them left something behind near the pool and returned to retrieve it.
-
He then returned to his car and instead of carefully driving away drove out full speed hitting the curb in the medium at our entrance.
-
He also dragged a very large landscaping rock which lodged under his car requiring the car to be towed away.
-
I have no idea why it was only towed as far as a business parking lot down the road and left there.
-
The police have impounded the car.
-
The curb will need to be repaired. The boulder was blocking part of our entrance most of the day but now has been returned to its proper place.
-
I have no idea what will happen to the driver of the car.
-
DR George please let me know if the book is good.
If I remember to by the time I get go it!
Of course :)

Hello, everyone.
-
I went to acupuncture today. The doctor was very interested in my vision issues. She has floaters, too, and wanted to know more about what i do for them. (Natural Ophthalmics products.) It never occurred to me that she could treat any of my eye issues with acupuncture -- I go to her for pain management and other OLD issues. But she did indeed treat my eyes. A friend had a mini stroke in early June and is having acupuncture for it. He said it's really helping. Another thing that wouldn't have occurred to me.So more acupuncture is in my future.

People tend to forget about replacing their air filters, but they are important. I had the air filter on my car replaced a couple weeks ago and it made a noticeable difference in performance.
I keep my HEPA air purifier on all the time now. Originally I used it for my allergies, but because California now has so many wildfires I feel I need it for that as well. Bruce, you may want to run the AC unit as times with only the fan on. That will clean the air, but without the cold air. Much cheaper to run, too.
-
Vibes to all.
TTFN.
-
Of course, I bought the wrong size filter so had to go back and get the right one - I measured but was an inch off all around. But the new filter is installed - the old one was all brown rather than the white it should be, so there's no question that's what the smelly issue was.
-
Had a Chinese chicken salad for food - very good.
-
And the air conditioning is actually working much better and not bothering me, so that's good. Once every six months this filter will be replaced.
-
I hope you put it on your calendar.

'night

It was a beautiful day
-
This afternoon Vixdad and I went up to a north shore beach and walked the boardwalk and shoreline
-
Here is a sample

If you look very, very, very carefully at the horizon you just may be able to make out our DR Chas’ house

Seagull
-
Beautiful pix, Vixmom.

The reunion was strange. Very few people remembered me, so I didn’t make a lot of small talk with people I didn’t know.
-
One of my former teachers was there. I liked her. She taught AP American history and coached the quiz show team. I wrote my first Cole Porter paper for her.
-
I actually spent most of my time with a woman who wasn’t in my class. Allison was my date for prom and she ended up marrying a classmate I never really knew. She has not had a great time of late. She had an odd form of breast cancer and was treated for several years. She’s cancer free now, which is nice.
-
After a group photo, my friend Joyce and I stole away to a Cuban place for a great meal of tapas. Garlic shrimp were outrageous, but even better was an array of sautéed mushrooms under a potato gratin. Soooo good.
-
Now I’m home, readyi for bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
Where IS dear reader Laura? Most unseemly.
-
Finished with my viewing.

Very nice!

The other pictures are great, too!

The reunion was strange. Very few people remembered me, so I didn’t make a lot of small talk with people I didn’t know.
That's the opposite reason that I have for not wanting to go to a reunion...not that they wouldn't remember me, but I don't think that I'd really remember anything about them. :-\

Most of my friends in high school weren't in my class, either. And that's great news about Allison being cancer-free!

I was never a big Elvis fan. I don’t believe I ever bought or owned any Elvis albums or 45’s.
-
However, I think I saw almost every one of those stupid movies.
-
My all-time favorite Elvis film was FOLLOW THAT DREAM.
-
I don’t know why I liked that one more than the others.
-
I went to the Proctor Theatre almost every Friday night.
-
I don’t believe what movie was playing ever influenced my decision.
-
I also really enjoyed BLAUE HAWAII.
-
And I guess I had to enjoy IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD’S FAIR
-
I do remember seeing A CHANGE OF HABIT at the drive-in. I think that was the onlay one I ever saw at a drive-in.
-
Personally, I really enjoyed A CHANGE OF HABIT, just because it didn’t follow the usual Elvis film formula.
-
I enjoyed Elvis’ singing voice, but not enough to buy any of his albums.
-
And I have never watched any of his films on TV, except for FOLLOW THAT DREAM.
-
I was looking around for a straight pin to open this clogged tube.
-
Listening to music.
-
Notes are written.
-
Written are notes.
-
I finally looked in my jewelry box, which I open about once every three or four years.
-
Having a small bag of Dorito's nacho chips as a snack.
-
And a grape raspberry Sparkling Ice, which is sparkling.
-
And success! I found a couple pins, probably from a new dress shirt sometime in the past.
-
But I also found a book of matches from the JFK White House.
-
My friend Lorna gave them to me. They are pretty worthless now, since her two kids used about half of the book for smoking their pot. Stupid ass kids.
-
But I also found a book of matches from the JFK White House.
That's kinda cool!

Oh...darn.
-
Oh, I almost forgot...
-
I won one of the three games of Phase 10 that we played tonight. :)
-
My mom almost won one, but Dee (a friend of my mom's friend) won the other two games.
-
And now...
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
Whew!
-
I won one of the three games of Phase 10 that we played tonight. :)
Congratulations!
-
I won one of the three games of Phase 10 that we played tonight. :)
Congratulations!
Thanks, Tom! I don't win that often, at all.
-
And it's only a game, so it doesn't really matter.
-
But it's fun to win, if just for bragging rights.
