And with that I shall toddle off to the bedroom environment for as much beauty sleep as I can get.  I'll post just before I'm on my way.

MBARNUM - what exactly did Van Williams say about Marguerite Sierra?  Enquiring minds want to know.

I have a couple of coffee table books about Frank Lloyd Wright that are very nice.

I also have always liked Martin Gottfried's BROADWAY MUSICALS with A CHORUS LINE on the dust jacket.

Good Morning!

Safe travels, BK.

And, hopefully, the rainy forecast won't delay your flights.  Nor put a damper on your visit.

As for coffee table books...

A couple of Van Gogh collections.
Assorted theatre/show books, but my favorites have to be the ones for Rent, The Lion King and The Producers.
"The Complete Lyrics of Cole Porter"

And a couple of other ones that aren't coming to mind right now..

BK- If you read this before you leave, definitely NOT hot here right now. Rather chilly 47 degrees as I type this, so bring a good jacket that can be worn in rain, which is expected in the evening.

Also, if you could bring me in a vacuum-sealed container, one double double from In-N Out and some Shakey's mojo potatoes, that would be swell.

A dipped cone from Foster's Freeze might be a little trickier, but see what you can do. A wee cooler and some ice cubes maybe? You can probably use your charm and get the flight attendants to store it in their freezer for the flight.

Sorry for the late notice on this.

Good morning, all!  I slept through most of the night; it must have been all that fantastic Artie's food.  Today, I plan on making my first sojourn from the apartment down to the recording office.  Then, tonight I'l be out with my dear dfreidn BK and DRs Ben and Rodzinski, along with whoever shows up at Joe Allen's.  Nurse Jane, I promise to not overdo the day, and I'm taking money for emergency taxi home, if needed.

Coffee table books:
  BROADWAY MUSICALS by Martin Gottfried
My friend Robert Kimball's books on the complete lyrics of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Frank Loesser, Lorenz Hart, and Ira Gershwin
  Ethan Mordden's RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN
RING BELLS! SING SONGS! MUSICALS OF THE 30s by my late friend Stanley Green

Treasures of the Library of Congress, by Charles Goodrum
My complete Eloise collection, including the first book autographed by Kay Thompson

Off to work...

I seem to have many of the Broadway books others have.  I have a wonderful book on Georgia O'keef's flower paintings.  The book is so large, though, that it doesn't fit on any bookshelf or coffee table.  Books on the Normandie, American Impressionists and David Selznick are among other favorites.

Have a lovely trip to New York.  Kiss all our East Coasters: Ben, Ant, Rod, Larry, William, and all of you wonderful people never sleeping in the city that never sleeps (hence the city's name).

Good morning all!

I know I'm late but safe travels to our Dear BK!

DR Elmore, I would add to Nurse Janes instructions--Please try to lay down and take a nap this afternoon before the nights excitment.  Don't stay out to late and be sure to dress warm.  Don't catch a chill.  You need your strength to recover from your surgery.  You can't fight a cold at the same time.

Hope Guys Night Out is a fun one for everyone!

Ginny, I hope you can come in October!  Penny, you as well!  It will be a wonderful time!

DR MBarnum, I just read an article in VARIETY that dealt with your adored Bollywood.

Seems like the Indian film industry has discovered colorization, and they've embraced it in a BIG way. They are taking black and white classics (can't name them, don't know a thing about Bollywood) and colorizing them and releasing the new versions to theaters where they are doing excellent business.

The film executive explained (which sounded very similar to Ted Turner's comments decades ago) that the young film audience of India would NEVER sit still for a black and white movie nowadays.

Marty and Buster were raising a ruckus, barking at something, so I went to take a look.  In the lot next door, where everything has been cleared so the rain can erode all the dirt away, was a fox!  He (or she) was a coppery red, with a long coppery red tail.

Of course, the moment I called to der B to come take a look, he (or she) scooted into the woods next to the crick.

THAT'S the sort of thing you don't see in the city!

I'm going to see the new Star Wars movie today.  I hope I don't get to bad of a headache this time.  The last SW was so LOUD.  Another reason I would rather watch a DVD at home where I can control the volume.

I must be getting old.  There was a time when I would have told them to crank it up even more!

The same with roller coasters.   I used to love them but now..... We have a new one, Sheikra, that opened at Bush Gardens yesterday.  I don't know if I could handle it or not.

That's one thing I miss about our living on the five acres when I was growing up.  We had all kinds of things that turned up.

And the word of the day is: GREGARIOUS!
Ah yes, Greg-Arias.  Back in the middle ages, before operas, there was a brief period when, in the middle of a chant, the Gregorian monks would actually break into a song, with melody!  The whole thing came to a halt, however, when the Abbot decided the monks were spending too much time crowded around the organ, singing what suspiciously sounded like show tunes.  Party pooper, that's what the Abbot was, a gol-durn party pooper.

We have learned not to put coffee table books on our coffee tables.  This dates back to our first collection of dogs, when one of the Scotties, Jocko, would snack on the covers if he got the chance.  (He also had a taste for music, loving the score to The Little Mermaid so much that he crunched three copies of the CD!)

Fortunately, our bookshelves have adjustable shelving, so these large books can be stored vertically!

My favorites would have to be Hershfeld On Line and The Encyclopedia of Walt Disney Animated Characters.  Der Brucer's favorites include a couple of books on Ramesses II and Tutankhamun, and the Hart Thou Swell, Thou Witty.  (It was his book on Dali that Jocko devoured.)

Gottfried's BROADWAY MUSICALS sat on my coffee table in my den for many years, but it was recently replaced by BROADWAY MUSICALS: The 101 GREATEST MUSICALS OF ALL TIME. What a fabulous book! After reading the whole thing all the way through, I still find myself thinking about a show and flipping to it in the book and luxuriating with the pictures and text.

DR MattH - Ah... Those Ken Haak books...  Is "Sleeping Beauties" the first one?  I remember buying a Ken Haak book for a dear friend of mine - actually, he was the first person I came out to - when I was in high school.  I still remembering being sooo anxious buying a copy of that book at B. Dalton.  Thankfully, the clerk happened to be an actor in town with whom I had done some shows, so...   That helped to ease some of my "embarrassment" at the time.

Today is National Waitstaff Day, and National Stawberries and Cream Day.

It is also National Bike to Work Day.  Why the blazin' heck this is being held on a Saturday is beyond my understanding.  In fact, I wouldn't hold a holiday like this at all!

Not too long ago, locally, a young woman who was riding her bike, quite properly in the bicycle lane, was murdered by a careless driver who wanted to make a right turn and didn't see the smaller vehicle in her way.  And the driver wasn't charged with murder the way she should have been.  Bicycles aren't a safe way of getting around, not with the way some drivers out there behave.

Over the Kansas panhandle at 551 ground MPH.

DR SWW your fox story reminds me of the evening I was at a fancy house in Northern Indianapolis at a cast party.  I was sitting in the family room having a drink when I happened to look out the glass door to see a family of possums running around the swimming pool.  You don't see THAT in New York or California either.

Currently I have a a book on my coffee table about the World Trade Center, called, strangely enough, WORLD TRADE CENTER.

I used to have several different coffee table books about the Titanic.  But everytime I would buy a new one and put it on the coffee table; after about the fourth day it would break in half and sink to the carpet below.

Coffee table books that I (still ::)) have packed away in boxes are:

"The Muppet Show Book" and "The Muppet Movie" book (the links don't seem to be working well, so I'm attaching the pictures at the bottom of my message)

"The Illustrated Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"

and:

"As I See It," a book of male nudes by Greg Gorman.  This last one probably isn't true "coffee table book" material, but definitely eye candy. ;) If anyone watches the TV show "Las Vegas" with James Caan and Josh Duhamel, Josh is in this book...in the all-together!! ;D So is Alexis Arquette!  Can we say: :o

Coffe Table Books.  What delightful and unique TOD!

Stacked in a pile on my desk in the office are three volumes of Frank Frazetta art volumes: Testament, Legacy, and Icon.  Two volumes on the artwork of illustrator Joseph Clement Coll: The Art of Adventure and The Magic Pen of Joseph Clement Coll.  A book on The Barrymores called...Well...The Barrymores, and Cities and Scenes from the Ancient World, artwork by illustrator Roy G. Krenkel.

They revolve occasionally with things like reprint volumes of the Sunday Tarzan Comic strip by Hal Foster or Burne Hogarth, a great volume on Korda's Thief of Baghdad film,  The Spectacle of the Empire (British), the Classic Era of the American Pulp Magazine, and a Pictorial History of Sherlock Holmes.

In the TV Room, though they are not displayed as Coffee Table books and are used rather as reference are...The Pictorial History of the American Theatre, The Pictorial History of the Talkies, The Pictorial History of the Silents, The Hollywood Musical as well as all the concise encyclopedias of all the major studios:  The MGM Story, The Paramount Story, The Warners Bros. Story, etc.

Upstairs in the Living-Room are Coffee Table books stacked under the raised sitting hearth of the fireplace...these include more art books, movie books like a big colourful book on David O. Sleznick and some Hurrell photo books, books on the Civil War, pictorial books on architecture and design, photo books of Hollywood, London, Cincinnati, and Kentucky.  Composer/lyric books are by the Baby Grand. Currently on the living-room coffee table is LONDON 360...a spectacular photo book of London.

The Pictorial History of the Talkies, The Pictorial History of the Silents,

I have both of those books, and I love them! As a kid I used to go to the library and look at them over and over...finally found copies for myself a few years back.

Hmmmm....I have some other coffee table books, but they are not on my coffee table...they are all in boxes someplace I think...oh, I see in my bookcase that I have BUNNY YEAGER'S PIN-UP GIRLS OF THE 50s, AND LON OF NEW YORK:THE MALE IDEAL.

The complete first season of "Bewitched" is being released on DVD on June 21, 2005.  It's being released in both a Black and White (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0009B16TE/qid=1116696842/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl74/002-0523980-6500818?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846) edition and a Colorized (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0009B16TO/qid=1116696842/sr=8-2/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i2_xgl74/002-0523980-6500818?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846) edition.  If you read the "reviews," one person ("L. Rotter") is quite passionate about how wonderful it is to have these colorized.  Here are a couple of excerpts of his/her(?) review:

Quote
To see the first 2 years of Bewitched in color is like a dream come true. You'd have to be a complete phoney-baloney to not want to admit to wanting to see the whole series in color.

and:

Quote
Only your politically correct snob friends will be admitting to preferring the drab lifeless dated looking b/w pictures over the wonderful colorful present day looking beautiful color picture you can get with these great looking colorized DVDs. Let your snob friends who pretend to prefer b/w over color buy the dull b/w versions, you stand tall and proud as you buy the excellent color version. I proudly proclaim, I LOVE COLORIZED MOVIES AND TV SHOWS over the dull lifeless b/w image. I only wish ALL b/w programs were in beautiful colorized versions. Imagine the wonderful world it would be to see I Love Lucy, Superman, & The Honeymooners all in living color!!! Let's hope the powers that be will make these dreams come true too.

I guess this guy prooves those producers right!  It's so sad, really.  Why would this person give a flying f**k if someone else would prefer to see something the way it was originally created?  And obviously this person has never paid attention to how detailed and beautiful black and white (monochromatic) filmmaking can be.  What a dufus. :P

Of course there are the people who insist that THE WIZARD OF OZ was colorized!

Quite a few years ago, TNT was broadcasting the colorized version of "It's a Wonderful Life."  My dad (who had the black and white videotape) had an idea:  He taped the colorized TV version up until George made his wish that he had never been born and Clarence made it so.  My dad then taped the black and white version from that point until George wishes that he were alive again and runs his car into the tree.  Then my dad switched back to the colorized version.  A sort of reverse "Wizard of Oz."  Aside from his lack of timing at the points where it switched from black and white to color, it was actually a pretty cool idea and it worked really well!

Hmmmmmm.....I suppose if it were technically possible to somehow reproduce the ORIGINAL colors from the negatives, it might be interesting to see the REAL colors.  But colorization has never been a satisfactory substitute for color photography.  And of course none of the b/w television shows or movies were designed in COLOR, so some of the sets and costumes might not be the most complimentary.

DRGEORGE I think you have stumbled on one of the original internet idiots.  The www is full of them, they are titanic in their hubris and ignorance, and it is best just to walk away.....quickly.

What I don't like about colorized films is that the color is overlaid upon the original greys.  As a result, the colors look muddy.

It's like some of the computer animation we see these days, where the notion of shapes and shading is rendered in greys that are added to the original color, rather than using darker colors that occur naturally.  The result is something that simply looks grimey and unnatural.  (Take a gander at some of the non-Pixar Disney computer animation; I'd have thought those guys would have known better.)

We only have one coffee table book sitting out and it isn’t on the coffee table but next to the fireplace.  It is the Faeries book by Brian Froud my Bryan gave me one year.  One half of the book is Bad Faeries, which I don’t like, and the other side is of the Good Faeries.  That is the side facing up.

Amongst the coffee table books left sitting on the book shelf are; photos of Arizona, The Art of Star Trek, a couple of books on the art of Glen Loates, cats, and The Stars.

Until someone can come up with a system that makes colorized images look natural (and that day can never come; I would think it's technically impossible), I will always have the smug satisfaction of knowing that what they're looking at is inferior in every respect. But if they like that muddy, weird looking color image, let them have it.

Sadly, I read this morning that Fox is planning on three more Shirley Temples in the fall - well, two new ones to DVD and one repeat (HEIDI, CURLY TOP, and LITTLE MISS BROADWAY) - and they're going to be colorized versions only. (As terrible quality as the first three Fox/Temple DVD films were, they did at least offer the choice between colorized and original B&W).

I finshed up THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, finshed disc 4 of ANGEL Season 2, and put in MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS to watch on the new TV and player. The image is very sharp, but the Technicolor is still not as deeply saturated as I would have thought the original would have been. Seems like on my old set, the Technicolor gets a little richer as the film proceeds.

I also watched the Daytime Emmys last night.  I thought it was quite boring.  Many of the people I wanted to win didn't win.  The only two awards I was really happy about were Greg R. and Christian LeBlanc from Y&R.  They are amazing (and won Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor).

One question, why the heck did Il Divo sing?  They are very nice.  But what does that have to do with Daytime Emmys?

Back from a lovely meeting with the web designer who'll be doing the Kritzerland site.  Very nice gal, and I think she's going to do a great job.  We went over every aspect of what the site will be - each menu icon, how the splash page will look and work, and how all the sub-pages will work.  The neat thing will be that in addition to sound clips, we will also have video clips of our recording sessions, and video interviews and such.  We will also have an interview section for people who are connected with whatever CD we're hawking.  She seems to "get" my sense of humor and my personality, and the site will have that sort of fun to it.  She will begin work on it this coming week, and our target date to go "live" will be end of June, with our first releases being available mid-July.

I did read that one of my all-time favorite movies is coming to DVD this fall - Stanley Donen's TWO FOR THE ROAD. I'm sure Fox will do a smashing anamorphic transfer with this.

Also one of our all time favorite films.  I'm shocked it isn't already on DVD.

Jane- Carvel's is not bad, but not sort of bland in flavor. I do like their Flying Saucers though. Also, there aren't that many Carvel's in the city.
Lately, Baskin-Robbins seems to be making a comeback. Coldstone Creamery is really making a push, and there's always Ben and Jerry's.

NOT BAD!! Your are talking about my favorite soft ice cream. ;D  I still have some chocolate chrunchies, or whatever they are called, from from NY trip.  My niece found a store in Times Square and elmore says there is one at the train station.  I LOVE BR's but refuse to eat Coldstone & B & J's.

I've never understood this desire for colourized anything.  Black and white films are simply beautiful.  And the photography is usually so much better.

I totally agree.  When my niece was much younger (she just turned 21 last month), she didn't like ANY black and white movies...because they were in black and white.  My dad, however, loves (and grew up with) black and white movies.  They used to watch movies together and would switch off who chose the movie.  My niece would, of course, make my dad watch her latest favorite movie of the moment, but my dad would purposely choose a black and white movie (usually a comedy) and make her watch it.  He said that it took a while, but she learned to love movies and not dislike one just because it was black and white.  Now she has seen quite a few and even Vivien Leigh has become one of her favorite actors.  She was so excited when we went to London a few years ago when we actually went to Waterloo Bridge where the move "Waterloo Bridge" was actually set (if not filmed there, which we didn't/don't know if it was).

Well, I met DRRodzinski and Antonia at Tower Reocrds at 7:30, we looked around a bit and then taxied to Joe Allen's, where Dear Friend BK, DRBen and Richard and Tom of SCARLET STREET were waiting for us.  A sparkling time was had by one and all, and millions of ears should be tingling if not erupting into blazes.

I left the merry group in front of the restaurant, got into a taxi and hauled this tired butt home.  The party was to continue without me.  I'm off to bed, and wish you all a good night.

DRDanise, my beloved Charlotte is 16, and she's looking forward to STAR WARS more than I am; I'm only going because I love to spend time with her, and I do adore her.  This may be our last chance before summer madness ties me to my desk and sends Charlotte off and about the globe with her summer activities, one of which is a 6-week high school Shakespeare program in Oxford England.  I'm very jealous!

DR GEORGE - my niece Amanda loves Waterloo Bridge as well.  And it is one of my favorite movies, too.  So sad.  Some very nice ballet dancing as well.

One of my favorite recent dance movies was THE COMPANY, if any dance fans haven't seen it yet.  It's a Robert Altman film, with all the baggage that that entails, but I liked the music and dancing very much....even the "new" "modern" stuff.

Rue McClanahan. It is a bizarre little film from 1963. Very bizarre. Like if Ed Wood and Arch Hall Sr. decided to make a movie together.

It co-stars King Moody from TEENAGERS FROM OUTER SPACE so that should tell you something.

"One question, why the heck did Il Divo sing?  They are very nice.  But what does that have to do with Daytime Emmys?"

I thought they explained that, Jennifer. For the first time in history, 8 women were nominated for leading actress in a drama series, and the guys were paying tribute to that by serenading them. They played clips from the ladies in their respective soaps behind them as they sang.

Since this and the Oscar/David Canary skit were the only entertainment segements on the show, I found it most welcome.

I was happy to see them pay tribute to William Bell, but the other famous faces who passed away during the past year (like the venerable Ruth Warrick) weren't mentioned.

Still, they got ALL those awards given out in two hours. The nightime Emmys and Oscars and Tonys can't do that.

Good Evening!

DR Jane - I keep saying I won't eat at Cold Stone Creamery, but...  And, of course, each time I finish my cup of ice cream and mix-ins, I find myself saying to myself, "Hmm... That really wasn't all that good.  I could have bought a pint or two of Ben & Jerry's.  And should have."

;)

Birthdays in the Simbulan household are still routinely celebrated with a Carvel Ice Cream Cake.  And, yes, it's all about the Chocolate Crunchies!  Thankfully, there's a Carvel within a mile of my parents' house.  Technically, it's walking distance, but...

;)

*And there's still something strangely comforting about Carvel's pistachio ice cream.  That very artificial green color, the hint of pistachio flavor, and, most "intriguing", the fact there are usually cashews in it rather than pistachios!

-Did we ever discuss the origin of "Il Divo"?

If so... well...

If not... In short, it's a group of four operatic tenors singing pop-style music.  And they were put-together and discovered by Mr. American Idol himself, Simon Cowell.  The four gentlemen were chosen not only for their good looks, but also for their singing talent.  ;)

The American one, David ??, was in the recent La Boheme on Broadway.

Back from a perfectly perfect mini-hainsies/kimlets gathering at Joe Allen.  What a delightful group it was - dear elmore, dear reader Ben, dear reader Rodzinski and his ever-lovin' Antonia, and my pals Tom and Richard of Scarlet Street fame.  I tell you we laughed and laughed and just when we thought we could laugh no more we laughed again.  It was daft and goofy and a lovely time was had by all.  Then we tried to go to Don't Tell Mama's but it was too crowded.  Then we walked up to some Russian bars but they were too crowded.  Antonia left us, and Tom, Richard, Rodzinski and I went back to Don't Tell Mama's.  This time we at least go in the door, but despite the promise of a table in a couple of minutes, no table was forthcoming and we left thirty minutes later.  We went across the street to Danny's Skylight Room and had a drink there.  I was pooped, so I left our merry troupe and came back to the hotel.  I must now write the notes and then get my beauty sleep.

RE: Playgirl

When I was on that audition tour with Universal Studios Japan two years ago, there was a gentleman who had come to the auditions in Orlando.  He had this very "old" headshot - very dated-looking, from the 80s.  And he still sort of looked that way too - the semi-afro, curly brown hair, the mustache that probably should have been trimmed down a bit, etc.  In any case...

I kept looking at him, and his name, and some far off distant bell kept ringing in my head.  He came in for the stunt men/gymnastics call.  He made it past the first two rounds, but eventually got cut.  When he left it finally hit me who he was...

Steve Rally.  A former Playgirl Man of the Year!  And I believe he was also one of the first Playgirl models to be photographed in a state of tumescence.  Talk about an image burned into one's mind!

I also remember him appearing on Donahue back during his "reign" with some other male entertainers and Playgirl models.  In particular, I remember one audience member asking someone on the panel if he would take off his shirt.  He would not.  But as they went to commercial, Steve Rally did, as did a few of the other guys.

-Just like it was yesterday...

And then there was that Donahue with Rex Chandler "telling" his parents for the first time that he did adult movies.  Gay ones.  And, of course, they showed a clip... And then Donahue went to his mother who was in the audience for her reaction...

Oh, and that particular episode also had the weather guy from Chicago turned porn actor on it too.  And that guy actually showed up on the ABC affiliate here in DC a few years ago...  He lasted a week, if that.  Apparently, the station received lots of phone calls...  Now as to whether they were in favor or against... Hmmm...

;)

Well, I think that's enough "information" for this post... NEXT!!!

I had two good shows today.  Not perfect, but good.

It really was harder switching gears, switching keyboard parts from the matinee to the evening than I thought it would be.  I would find myself listening for my next entrance, only to be reminded when I looked at the music in front of me that I was thinking about the other book.  I never got really confused, but I did have to concentrate a bit more today than usual.  But I had a good time, and I received some more nice words from the conductor and assistant conductor.

OH!

And I brought my origami papers and books into the pit this week too.

After the show, there was a family hanging out in the house watching the crew do their post-show stuff on stage.  I happened to walk back into the pit to pick up some stuff I left on my stand.  The mother asked if her children - two girls and a boy - could have some of the "confetti" that falls during the wedding scene.  "Sure.  No problem."  So, the guitarist and I gathered up some of the pink and white circles and hearts from the floor of the pit, and handed them up to her.  Then I went ahead and grabbed the two peacock and the pelican I had folded during the shows today, and handed those to her as well.  The two girls each took a peacock, and the boy took the pelican.  *I used some printed paper for the peacock - some nice colors and designs on them - very "girly".  ;)  The pelican was green.  :)

*Of course, after a few seconds, the older girl asked, "Can you make me some more?"  Hmm... Her mother gently "corrected" her, and I made my way out of the pit.

Between shows, I just headed over to Potbelly for a sandwich - a Wreck on Wheat, extra hot peppers.  It's been a while since I've had a Potbelly sandwich.  What a good sandwich they make, and just the right size, and just the right price too.

After my meal, I headed back over the theatre, and spent sometime just sitting on one of the ledges around Freedom Plaza.  It was a gorgeous afternoon!  No sign of the thunderstorms that had been forecasted.  A bright blue, partly cloudy sky.  Beautiful clouds.

I just laid back on the cool marble, and took a brief nap.

Each time I opened my eyes, I noticed that they sky, the clouds had changed.  The skies were actually clearing up as the sun was setting.  It was so peaceful.  Even all the skateboarders nearby weren't bothering me.

I realized that it had been a long(!) time since I just had just looked at the sky.  Just watched it.  It truly was beautiful.

It was also nice just pulling back and being a part of the world at large again.  Just watching the skies, the clouds.  That's all.  No thinking.  No judging.  No critiquing.  Just being.

It was the perfect way to spend my break between shows.

About my first encounter with Playgirl Magazine 8):

When I was in high school, I was learning how to drive a stick shift (no pun intended!).  My sister, who was going to the local community college, had a Ford Fiesta and she let me drive it every once in a while.  One time (after she had come from a friend's house), my sister let me practice driving her car.  She had obviously forgotten (or maybe she didn't ;)) that she had left a Playgirl magazine in the passenger seat of the car (I assumed that she got from her friend).  Anyway, I drove around and stopped at my former elementary school (it was on a weekend) and looked through the magazine!  No, I didn't "enjoy" myself!!  I only looked!!

When I was younger (in middle school, maybe), I had found some of my dad's Playboy and other adult magazines ( :o ), but I knew even before that, that girls didn't do anything for me.  This Playgirl was the very first time I had seen an adult magazine with mostly men and, if there was any doubt, definitely confirmed what I was interested in!

I hope that this isn't TMI!!  (Too much information ;))

Besides being a bit physically tired right now - two show days really do take it out of me (and everyone else) - my brain is also still recovering from the day.  I actually had more "moments" during the matinee when I was back on Keys 2.  I hadn't played that book - except for the brief rehearsal on Wednesday - since Indianapolis.  I played Keys 4 when I was in Richmond, and I've been playing Keys 4 here in DC until last night.  I also was being 'observed' by yet one more keyboard sub today.  I knew him, he knew me - and he had played the show before - but still...

I am sooooo looking forward to Monday.  I was thinking that I'd head back to Richmond for the day, but I think I may be changing my plans... We shall see...
