Marty and Buster were raising a ruckus, barking at something, so I went to take a look. In the lot next door, where everything has been cleared so the rain can erode all the dirt away, was a fox! He (or she) was a coppery red, with a long coppery red tail.
Of course, the moment I called to der B to come take a look, he (or she) scooted into the woods next to the crick.
THAT'S the sort of thing you don't see in the city!
And the word of the day is: GREGARIOUS!Ah yes, Greg-Arias. Back in the middle ages, before operas, there was a brief period when, in the middle of a chant, the Gregorian monks would actually break into a song, with melody! The whole thing came to a halt, however, when the Abbot decided the monks were spending too much time crowded around the organ, singing what suspiciously sounded like show tunes. Party pooper, that's what the Abbot was, a gol-durn party pooper.

DR MattH - Ah... Those Ken Haak books... Is "Sleeping Beauties" the first one? I remember buying a Ken Haak book for a dear friend of mine - actually, he was the first person I came out to - when I was in high school. I still remembering being sooo anxious buying a copy of that book at B. Dalton. Thankfully, the clerk happened to be an actor in town with whom I had done some shows, so... That helped to ease some of my "embarrassment" at the time.
I am sorry my Joe and I will not be GRAGARIOUS at Joe Allen tonight, which is EGREGIOUS. (Both from the Latin grex, gregis [herd, flock] akin to Esperanto grego) We will not be in the herd, we will be out of the herd.
Joe is currently undergoing a change of medications and is down for the count.
Take a camera to Joe Allen's!
Actually I suspected it was After the Ball as I remembered BK talking about it earlier this year. So just in case I created the After The Ball web page for Bruce Kimmel Tribute site. So here is the link to it.

DRs Jane and MichaelShayne - I'm sure they accept food deliveries at the stage door of the National Theatre in DC.
Ah yes, I remember when Playgirl first came out, a friend and his partner were in the drug store:
--Look at that. Do you think your girl friend would like that magazine?
--Oh yeah, I think my girl friend would like it.
--Why don't you buy it for your girl friend?
--Yes, I think I will buy it for my girl friend. (to clerk) I would like to buy this magazine for my girl friend.
The Pictorial History of the Talkies, The Pictorial History of the Silents,
DR MBarnum, I just read an article in VARIETY that dealt with your adored Bollywood.
Seems like the Indian film industry has discovered colorization, and they've embraced it in a BIG way. They are taking black and white classics (can't name them, don't know a thing about Bollywood) and colorizing them and releasing the new versions to theaters where they are doing excellent business.
The film executive explained (which sounded very similar to Ted Turner's comments decades ago) that the young film audience of India would NEVER sit still for a black and white movie nowadays.
To see the first 2 years of Bewitched in color is like a dream come true. You'd have to be a complete phoney-baloney to not want to admit to wanting to see the whole series in color.
Only your politically correct snob friends will be admitting to preferring the drab lifeless dated looking b/w pictures over the wonderful colorful present day looking beautiful color picture you can get with these great looking colorized DVDs. Let your snob friends who pretend to prefer b/w over color buy the dull b/w versions, you stand tall and proud as you buy the excellent color version. I proudly proclaim, I LOVE COLORIZED MOVIES AND TV SHOWS over the dull lifeless b/w image. I only wish ALL b/w programs were in beautiful colorized versions. Imagine the wonderful world it would be to see I Love Lucy, Superman, & The Honeymooners all in living color!!! Let's hope the powers that be will make these dreams come true too.
LOL. I remember a few female co-workers took the early issues of Playgirl to work. The guys in the photos didn’t do much for me. ;DI remember some of those photos.
Lord protect us from a colorized Citizen Kane! How about a colorized Birth of a Nation? Why not colorize the Kansas scenes in The Wizard of Oz?
Of course there are the people who insist that THE WIZARD OF OZ was colorized!
Okay, now I really must leave. I have places to go, people to see, things to do, food to eat! I'll be back later. ;D
Interview with Diane McBain went splendidly! What a classy, beautiful lady! Fun stories about Joan Crawford, Elvis, Claudette Colbert, and the Warner Bros. publicity machine (JRand54, don't believe anything you read in those old movie magazines! LOL!).
Ms. Diane McBain
The air is full of white fluffy things flying around....looks like snow! LOL
I'm glad to see that BK has arrived safely in NYC. Wish I could be there for dinner at Joe Allen tonight - have fun everybody!
DR elmore - are you taking it easy this afternoon so you can enjoy tonight's sparkling event?
Well hopefully the ears of all of us HHW'ers in the Hinterlands will not be burning too much as the East Coast Chapter meets this evening.
Oh, I don't know, I have seen a lot of foxes in The City.
DR MS many hours ago you asked about SACD - special playback equipment is recommended.
Here is a link to an article about Super Audio Compact Disk sound that explains all about DSD and bitstream, and all the rest. ;D

hello all,
trust you are all wonderfully fit and having a great day.
i used to have a wonderful book on ERTE. the drawings were in a crayon style which gave a fabulous new dimension to the designs. unfortunately, i lost it during a move. (if anybody finds it, please send it back...!)
update on Tomovoz:
went to visit Tom yesterday. he was sitting in his chair (picture Queen Victoria) and had had some of the tubing removed in the morning. Fortunately, he is now starting to eat again although he says he does not possess much of an appetite. Understandable. All in all though it seems he is making great progress.
At this stage it looks like he will most likely be home on Tuesday. I am sure you can all expect lots of lovely postings when he returns.
Have a wonderfully eventful day.
Cheers from Down Under.
I've had a spot of delish Artie's chicken noodle soup to wash down the vicodin - oh, God, what a culinary mess! - and I've done my 15 minutes in a hot tub of water. I foolishly promised my beloved goddaughter I'd take her tomorrow to STAR WARS whatever THE SITH, and I look forward to my time with her. I think I'll pick up the tickets on my way to Tower Records, so if I feel like hell tomorrow, I can at least give her the tickets, my love, and advise her to take a friend as my treat. I think I'll be fine; I'm determined to not let this mess screw up my routine too much.
Thank you for keeping us updated, DR Ozderek! Please tell Tom we're all here for him! :)
MBarnum, PLAYGIRL is currently looking for an editor, if you are looking to move to the East Coast!
The Sith!
Boy... I'm glad I didn't mix the letters!
Sith happens, they say!!
I did read that one of my all-time favorite movies is coming to DVD this fall - Stanley Donen's TWO FOR THE ROAD. I'm sure Fox will do a smashing anamorphic transfer with this.
Wow! Another Queen Victoria fan I guess!! ;)
-- I'm joking, Danise, I'm joking!
I'm sure Tom'll be... amused! ;D
Jane- Carvel's is not bad, but not sort of bland in flavor. I do like their Flying Saucers though. Also, there aren't that many Carvel's in the city.
Lately, Baskin-Robbins seems to be making a comeback. Coldstone Creamery is really making a push, and there's always Ben and Jerry's.
Lord protect us from a colorized Citizen Kane! How about a colorized Birth of a Nation? Why not colorize the Kansas scenes in The Wizard of Oz?
I've never understood this desire for colourized anything. Black and white films are simply beautiful. And the photography is usually so much better.
Back from a lovely meeting with the web designer who'll be doing the Kritzerland site. Very nice gal, and I think she's going to do a great job. We went over every aspect of what the site will be - each menu icon, how the splash page will look and work, and how all the sub-pages will work. The neat thing will be that in addition to sound clips, we will also have video clips of our recording sessions, and video interviews and such. We will also have an interview section for people who are connected with whatever CD we're hawking. She seems to "get" my sense of humor and my personality, and the site will have that sort of fun to it. She will begin work on it this coming week, and our target date to go "live" will be end of June, with our first releases being available mid-July.
The title is fairly strange as well. Somehow I don't think Diane McBain is in this one.
Oh my...is this the one that was advertised:
Monroe!
Mansfield!
McClanahan!
as if......
One last post? I have a little more than a year to pay off my two credit cards! At that time, I will be completely out of debt...FINALLY!! What this means is that I might (mind you, I said "might") be able to come to a NY HHW Get Together! AND go see some shows...and just travel...and actually save some money for my retirement...etc, etc, etc. (a King and I[/i] reference) OR even a California HHW Get Together! Oh, the possibilities!! ;D
OK... I think that's enough of a frenzy for now...
I shall await the new Notes... and the new Topic of the Day... The first Topic of the Day on a Sunday since last Sunday's First Sunday Topic of the Day.
;D
So, what you're saying DR George, is that once you pay them off, you will run them up again with plane tickets, show tickets and restaurant meals?
;)
