Well, you've read the notes, the notes were nothing special, and now it is time for you to post until the nothing special cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CHARISMA!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I'm giving Access-a-Ride another chance this morning to get me to my podiatrist. We'll see how it goes.
-
I slept rather well, and I hopew this bodes well for today.
-
I had a strange dream involving a cousin, a stranger, and my mother and it all occurred in the Hamilton Ohio home of my Aunt Jean. I no longer remember the first part of the dream, but my cousin and I upset this strange man who would not leave the home and he suddenly pulled out a gun and shot my cousin. As he turned to shoot me, I made a run for the kitchen and got shot in the upper leg. I called the police and waited outside for the police to arrive. A car pulled into the driveway, and I ean to it asking, "Are you the police?" The stranger came out of the house and got into the car which drove away. I believe my cousin was dead, but my mother showed up. I cannot remember now if the police ever did.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Thanks to everyone for all the vibes for my SIL. I have not heard from my brother today - but I think they were going to do hospice.
Someone asked the difference between palliative care and hospice - and I think the woman said Monday that with palliative care, the patient would continue to receive treatments such as radiation/chemo and such.....but with hospice there are just a few instances that would be treated....the patient has waived further treatment.

DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that you must remember that the past cannot harm you. You are in charge of things and whatever comes forward has already been conquered.
-
I am also a bit non-plussed by the Cuomo stuff.....I'm just not sure what to think. Some of the things hardly rise to the definition of harassment but I am not a lawyer OR a television commentator.
-
Well, guess who got the shaft from Access-A-Ride?
-

Thanks, DR Jrand70! As soon as we sell that property, we'll both be in clover!

My appointment was for 9:45, so allowing 80 minutes with complicartions, I scheduled my ride for 8:25. At 8:25 I got a message saying the driver was on his way, so I went downstairs to wait in the lobby. I then got a message saying he would be there in 2 minutes, so I went out to the street.
-
At 8:35 I got a new message from Access-A-Ride. The driver is outside your building. He is?
-
I called Access-A-Ride and told them he was not in front of the building. I waited for a godd 3-5 minutes while the operator tracked him down. Then she told Ce he would be there in 15-30 minutes, which would make me late. I told them to cancel the rides, called my HMO and rescheduled, and we'll try again next Wednesday.
Color me really, really, really pissed.;
-
Good morning, all.
-
OMG. Does this Access-a-Ride thing function for anyone?
-
Is Mercury stuck in Uranus again, or what? It feels like very little is going right for anyone right now.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Dolly Rideshare, a damned exasperating woman transport.
-
Sorry, DR elmore3003.
-
Glad you survived yesterday, DR John G.
-
~~~CONTINUED CARING VIBES~~~ for the family of DR Jrand70!
-
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
-
I had a couple of seemingly benign but weird dreams that are all but gone now.
-
We had a surprise virtual meeting this morning. Our team is soon going to double in size, in anticipation of the lifting of the Federal health emergency order, which will generate a lot more work for us. Right now, it is set to expire in October.
-
DR Druxy I have no idea what was a mess at FB.
-
DR John your mother's new place sounds nice, and larger than I expected.
-
I hope that is a good thing for you.
-
Oh, absolutely, DR Jane. Thanks!
It will just be the pain of training all the new folks. It takes about 6 months to learn enough to be functional.
-
TWO!!
The DH is going on a job interview this afternoon. Thinking of DR vixmom!
He is semi-retired, but the extra income sure would be a Godsend.
-
Come From Away will be shown on Apple + TV.
Happy anniversary, U.S. Coast Guard!
-
Well I am in hell right now - make that HELL.
-
My pianist called me this morning to tell me she had a temperature last night of 101.....she took Tylenol and it came back...
She took one of those drug store home tests and it came back as Positive For Covid. Her Boyfriend also took a test and he came back negative.
She has gone for the more substantial test and will get the results in two days or so.
-
I immediately notified the cast and sent them the CDC guidelines for vaccinated folks who may have been exposed and told them we would know for sure by the weekend.
I canceled all rehearsals for the rest of the week, including the preview showing we had scheduled for PCCS - the local special needs folks' home.....
I am now in quarantine until I can get a test.....which I am supposed to wait about five days for.... And it is my opinion that we should cancel the show - scheduled to open on August 10.
Because it is my guess that it is indeed Covid. She was scheduled to get her second shot on Thursday.....so....there you are.
-
I feel terrible that I have put all of these folks in this position and endangered not only them but their families and colleagues....
Now they have to mask up and get tested, etc. I also found out that at least ONE of my cast members is NOT vaccinated.....
-
No words....I may be scarce for a couple of days while this plays out.....I am sure the local media will cover it....and I am sure that even if the test is negative, I will lose some cast members.
And I don't blame them.
-
And how has your day been?
-
I just keep thinking about Miss Hannigan's line:
Got any MORE good news?
-
I may turn the County Red all by myself.
It ain't no joke, folks.
-
Oh, my goodness! :o What is wrong with these ride services??
Good luck for the DH!!
-
My office is down one person (and lost another position), but they're interviewing two people today for the one position. Hopefully, one of them will be good!
-
Happy anniversary, U.S. Coast Guard!
Today is also the 100th birthday of Louis Armstrong, and the 60th birthday of Barack Obama!
Having been vaccinated do you have to quarantine if you are asymptomatic or is it just recommended?
-
DR Jrand I am sorry about your show.
-
COVID FREE VIBES FOR DR JRAND, AND ALL OF US!
-
DR Jrand70, I feel so terrible for you and your cast. I don't even know what to say. It's all cold comfort. My only advice is, don't blame yourself. I think the whole country has jumped the gun in assuming that it can open and go back to what we were because attention spans are short these days and everyone's tired of being cooped up.
-
I spoke to my friend Suad, who set nwe up for unemployment. She was a vaccinated government worker who just came through a round of Covid. She's leaving New York on August 31 and movinfg to Washington DC. I promised to keep in touch.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep, but I have much to do before doing the radio thing at four. Thank goodness it's Zoom.
-
It would appear that we all need a HEALTHY dose of vibes and xylophones, so here they are.
-
OY, DR Jrand70!
Talk about yer fresh hells.
Best of luck with all of that over these next couple of days.
-
Thanks, everyone. I appreciate the comments.
Lots of cast support on the private Facebook group with many folks saying that if the test is negative, they are ready to come in for rehearsals this weekend.
So now we wait for the results......
-
Oh and I received a nice package from Kritzerland today with some items autographed by MR BK.
-
DR JANE the Indiana recommendation for vaccinated folks if they are exposed to a person with Covid, that the vaccinated one mask up for two weeks. After five days - get tested. If the test is negative then the mask should stay on for the rest of the two weeks to in case you are a "carrier."
I am glad for that. Good luck no one else has covid.
-
Well, packages are arriving so that's one good thing. I ordered a roasted garlic chicken pizza from CPK. Hopefully it gets here by three-thirty so I can eat it prior to the radio thing.
That sounds reasonable. You can get out for walks if you want.
-
What awful news, DR Jrand70. I am so sorry.
-
I hate to say it, but if the Delta variant gets worse, we could be headed into another general shutdown.
-
Thanks for all the vibes. Apparently it went well. The DH was offered the job of interim music director/organist for a local church, and he has accepted, to start in September.
-
Congratulations! :)
-
I don't think anyone at this point would have the chutzpah to shut the country down again. From all I've read, the Delta thing is mostly hitting unvaccinated people and is no worse than a cold for a few days.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Congrats to Singdaw's DH!
-
Jrand, so sorry to hear your news. But aren't you being a bit hard on yourself? No one knew your pianist had or would have Covid. Of course it's a disappointment after all your had work and sweat. Vibes no one else tests positive and things start looking brighter.
-
I went to the chiropractor today, then stopped for Indian food.
The joys of aging: As I diligently work at improving my current health problems new ones keep popping up. Gawd!
-
Janis Ian is doing a farewell tour. I had no idea she was still touring. I always found her songs very insightful.
-
Vibes to all.
TTFN.
I would say more like a flu than a cold. There have been reports of lingering issues, such as fatigue, with vaccinated people.
Originally I feared a shutdown. At this point I am thinking your are right that it won't happen.
Yes, the joys of aging. Sending hugs.
-
DR Jrand I have been thinking how this covid situation must be even more difficult for you with your sister in-law going into hospice.
-
Vibes for JRand and cast.
A minor technicality has kept Mom at home another night.
-
Ordered fish tacos tonight for dinner. It was based on a coupon received in the mail today. The woman who took my order had never heard of them.
-
I was finally able to order.
-
When I showed up, the coupon was then called into attention.
-
A minor technicality has kept Mom at home another night.
I hope she is ok with this.
-
But I got everything I ordered. I came home and started to eat.
-
The fries were on top. And they were hot and delicious. So I ate all of them first.
-
Then I scarfed down a side order of bacon mac and cheese balls.
-
I finally got to the three fish tacos. The stench of nasty fish was so bad that I almost vomited on the ground.
-
Plus, their idea of a fish taco was bad fish topped with coleslaw. Why?
There was coleslaw on the side.
-
Onward
-
Four!
-
I threw the tacos out and carried out the trash.
-
The coleslaw was okay. It needed salt. But I was full by tge time I finished.
-
Watching women’s beach volleyball now.
-
The Americans have played well over the last few days.
-
Just read the latest from LA County - 97% of the Delta variant cases are unvaccinated people. 98% or something like it of Covid cases ARE the Delta variant. I think this makes it perfectly clear who are putting people at risk.
-
While I am not a fan of fish tacos, this sounds horrible
That was your first clue they didn't know how to make them ;)
-
My set of the Malcolm Arnold symphonies arrived today. I found a very inexpensive copy from a UK seller.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Good night, Singdaw.
-
Gratuitous post No. 101!
-
Good night, all.
-
Cool! I can't wait for my Indiegogo package! :D
-
Thanks for all the vibes. Apparently it went well. The DH was offered the job of interim music director/organist for a local church, and he has accepted, to start in September.
Congrats to your husband, Singdaw!
-
Today, they were supposed to have two interviews for the one open position in my department.
-
I was told (on the sly ;) ) that the first interview went really well.
-
The candidate had some really good experience and seemed like she could learn things quickly.
-
The second candidate never showed up! :o
-
And I don't think she ever called to say why or what happened...at least, not before I left work. :-\
-
But they are going ahead and checking the first (only) candidate's references and if they check out, they'll offer her the job!
-
She and her husband are moving from the northern part of the state to this area because her husband is starting a new job on September 1st.
-
So, if she accepts, then more than likely she could also start here on September 1, if not earlier.
-
Hoo and Ray!
-
Oh, no! :P
Darn.
-
Well, after work, I went to Fred Meyer for a few things, then came home.
-
I started reading my book, Project Hail Mary, and since I only had three chapters left, I finished it!
-
I really liked it, and wondered how it was all going to end...now I know. ;)
-
Have you finished it, Jane?
-
Congratulations on hubby getting the job. The strange thing is he had applied for a job at Amazon.
Is Mercury stuck in Uranus again, or what? It feels like very little is going right for anyone right now.
Think of the size of that Ex-Lax tablet.
Have you called management about these screw-ups?
-
A two hour gap to start page 5.
-
I was sorry to read that the ride service once again let you down, Elmore
-
That is certainly encouraging.
-
Jack , your SIL and family remain in my prayers during this difficult time
-
Hello, vixmom.
-
Singdaw, my congratulations to your husband!
-
Hello TCB
-
I like sci-fi
-
How is your sunburn?
-
Books and movies and magazines and short stories and TV shows
-
I like it all
-
The idea of fish tacos, however, does not appeal at all
-
But then I don’t care for fish
-
I like sci-fi
As we say around these parts: Different strokes!
-
The idea of fish tacos, however, does not appeal at all
I'd gotten some fish tacos from Taco Del Mar, and they were really good. :)
-
Hi, Tom and Vixmom...hey, that rhymes! I never noticed before.
-
And then I wrote...
-
And then I wrote...
Tomorrow's notes??
;D
