Well, you've read the notes, the notes were truly fun, and now it is time for you to post until the truly fun cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RAPPROCHEMENT!
-
Congrats on a great evening, BK!
-
~~~Break Legs Vibes for Tonight's Group Rep Cabaret Benefit!!~~~
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept quite badly. Because of tomorrow's colonoscopy, I am off my pain meds, and it was hell, as I expect today to be.
-
On Sunday I finally read the colonoscopy papers the doctor's assistant - the one who dropped the ball on the prescription last week - sent me. I was told to stop taking Advil or Aleve five days before the procedure. I haven't done this so I need to call this moring and see if we need to postpone or if I can still go through it tomorrow.
-
BK, I'm sorry the audience was small, but I'm very happy the event went well.
-
I'm quite sleepy so I am going to lie down for a bit.
-
I lay down, all three cats joined me, but I couldn't sleep. I tossed about for over an hour and decided to get up and plan my day. The colonoscopy prep begins at 6:00 tonight, so I need to make a trip to Staples and call Access-a-Ride for tomorrow;s trip.
-
Happy belated birthday DR TCB!!!
-
DR Jane who would even think to get a covid booster and flu shot at the same time?!?!?!
We don't get flu shots here for months anyways. And covid boosters are not really a thing here yet.
-
Good morning, all.
-
T.O.D.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I'm glad to hear the show went well, even though audience attendance was on the low side.
-
Prep vibes for DR Elmore.
-
This truly feels like a Monday.
And yesterday truly felt like a Sunday.
Consequently, this truly feels like a four-day week.
This is because Kristi and Nathan took a three-day weekend, returning yesterday. And because the storm that fizzled basically robbed me of a day and a half of the weekend for prep (not DR Elmore's kind) and waiting around.
It's a Monday, let's face it. Don't try to deny it.
-
The show sounds great!
Continued vibes for MR BK & Co.
TOD:
Bugs Bunny & Daffy Duck from WB.
I don't really care for the MGM cartoons.....
-
Last night after we did Act One, the director decided we would do Act Two....which of course NO ONE had prepared for....so it was a bit of a slog.
-
TOD:
Foghorn Leghorn
Speedy Gonzalez
I don’t remember the MGM characters. Dod they include Tom and Jerry?
-
Surprise!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Doing Act 2 unannounced is kind of like a Pop Quiz.
-
:)
-
Enjoyed reading about the show in today's Notes.
-
DR TCB - that was long, long ago. 40 years ago, now.
-
Salivating over that song selection list for the Group Rep show.
-
I've survived the morning: booked Access-a-Ride for tomorrow at 8:00, finished kitty cleanup, made the bed, took the trash to the basement, and successfully made my trip to Staples and back. I plan to do nothing more but lie in the breeze qith the kitties until dinner time at 3:00. I will now have some cold apple juice since I cannot eat, and I'm starving!
Salivating over that song selection list for the Group Rep show.
Yes. It sounded wonderful.
-
I’ve had Guido’s song in my head for a while now.
-
I would like for the universe
To get down on its knees
And say, Guido,
Whatever you please.
Simple things.
-
DR Jeanne I wouldn't pay $100 either to have the antibody tests unless I was positive I had covid.
Last night while I was thankfully sleeping my covid test results came in. I am negative and have been givin an ok to have the endoscopy tomorrow.
-
I love me some Inga.
Yay. And vibes.
-
I have not received any instructions for tomorrow and there is nothing in "mychart". I guess I need to call them.
-
Great news, DR Jane. ~~~PROCEDURE VIBES~~~
-
I love me some Inga.
Yup. She breathes so much into that song.
-
DR John thanks for all the updates on your mother. I do hope all that needs to be done for the house can be done in time. I recall being in the same situation as your sister. I had a flight booked home as was determined to make it, which I barely did.
-
From TCB:
Thank you so much, Jane, but FOUR cats?
Sure, why not ;)
We have had four cats at once.
-
I've had a visit from my neighbor Ann, then a nice bath, and Stella and Thatch are bugging me for some dinner.
-
So, let Thatch and Stella prepare you some dinner.
-
Just watched Audra singing the same song. Sad comparison. She had a bad accent and overdid it on the emotions. It wasn’t a simple little thing at all.
-
DR Jane who would even think to get a covid booster and flu shot at the same time?!?!?!
We don't get flu shots here for months anyways. And covid boosters are not really a thing here yet.
Pharmacies here are already advertising to get your flu shots. Some years the season begins early, others later. To me it seems you get your shots a bit on the late side but I understand the reasoning. Too early and the shot might not protect a person during the worst part of the flu season.
-
I think Rick McKay’s documentary had Swenson in a snippet singing Is It Really Me? But I can’t find a full video of it.
-
Last night while I was thankfully sleeping my covid test results came in. I am negative and have been giving an ok to have the endoscopy tomorrow.
Yay. And vibes.
True, however, if I had covid feeling like my allergies are bothering me, that wouldn't have been such a bad thing. It would likely offer more protection than a booster shot, and less of a reaction ;)
We have had four cats at once.
My niece has FIVE cats AND five chickens! :o
I totally agree...and I do love Audra. :-\
-
Break's over. Back to work. ::)
-
I'm up, I'm up - I think I got around seven hours of sleep, maybe a bit more, though.
-
Just spent forty-five minutes catching up on CD orders - getting them to the helper.
-
Charlie Watts has died. Saw the Rolling Stones on one of their farewell tours about 25 years ago. And saw the Charlie Watts Orchestra before that.
I have only had a total of 8 pets at once.
I'm in the minority. She's right down there with Ms Clark and several other overpraised performers.
-
It's nearly time to begin the prep. Shoot me.
-
(((HUGS))) DR elmore3003. I've been down that road quite a few times myself.
-
I have been on hold for almost 15 minutes. I am waiting to speak to a live person to confirm my endoscopy tomorrow.
-
Finally :)
-
We don't feel like cooking tonight (that happens a lot), and so Thai is being delivered.
-
Glad you got through, DR Jane.
I'll admit it - never cared for Audra McDonald. She overdoes everything, pouncing on lyrics and hammers them into pieces. The trick to interpreting a lyric is to interpret it so people don't see the work and the effort. Want to hear a perfect example? Listen to her Come Down from the Tree, then listen to our version with Lillias White - night and day. And of course, she wouldn't have even known the song at all were it not for our recording. I just don't get the love for her, but an awful lot of people do, and you can't ignore that.
-
Glad you got through, DR Jane.
Thanks. Turns out the info was in my chart, in messages. I thought I scrolled down to the bottom of the message but somehow missed everything after the covid test portion of the message.
-
Why the procedure wasn't under upcoming visits is odd.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I just received my Covid test results and I am NEGATIVE! Good news, but there have been so many obstacles to getting Thursday's procedure that I'm not taking anything for granted.
-
PREP AND ANTI-ANXIETY VIBES to DR Elmore!
Vibes, too, for a successful and comfortable procedure!
-
More success and comfort vibes for Jane!
TOD:
The only cartoon that I recall watching regularly was The Flintstones. It was so clever!
One of our neighbors was the mother of Art Lenardi. When all of her grown children would assemble for a family dinner Artie would always sit in the living room, always in the same chair, and draw. He wasn't much of a socializer. He'd do sound effects as he drew, and we'd often hear him say (to himself), "I thought I saw a puddy cat!"
Last I heard he had two emmys.
-
I just don't understand why anyone here thinks they'd test positive when they've been so careful?
-
Had the small chicken Caesar again - it's just the right amount of food to tide me over and so that I have energy for the show.
-
I just don't understand why anyone here thinks they'd test positive when they've been so careful?
Because the virus is all around and no matter how careful we try to be we still have to be out around other people to some extent. I didn't think I was infected, but I needed proof from a PCR test in order to be approved for my eye procedure.
-
TTFN.
Understandable. Vibes it happens and all is good.
Thank you.
-
We don't. The test was required of us, otherwise we wouldn't have done it.
-
The new gym is around the corner from where I had the test. Keith dropped me off and went to the gym. We decided I would stay away from the gym until Thursday.
He was very relieved to see masks are now required there and everyone was wearing one.
-
The gym is also around the corner from the Dermatologist's office, which is in the building next to the mini medical mall where I had the covid test and will have the endoscopy.
This morning we went to the dermatologist. Normally we would go to the gym afterwards. Today we did errands instead.
Bryan was shocked to find himself sick with covid.
-
DR Jeanne I believe you are more careful than I am.
Is this now? Is he doing okay?
Since most people are interacting with others a lot I don't see why most people would be shocked to test positive.
That was in July, seven months after he was vaccinated. What shocked him was that he hadn't seen any covid patients at work. He has no idea where he got it but guesses it was while they were visiting Milwaukee.
-
Thank you Jennifer.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to the theater.
-
I guess I should feel very lucky that I'm not having any procedures and therefore do not need to get a test. I am wary of all procedures - I get too many gross images in my mind.
-
LOL. I would rather know if I have cancer or not.
-
Bruce, have a great evening.
Gratuitous post No. 99!
I remember well, back last fall, all the hurdles I had to go through just prior to my surgeries. And the required COVID tests. It was nerve-wracking, because they will only accept a test scheduled within 3 of 4 business days of the surgery, and at that point it was hard to find places that could guarantee the results in the right amount of time. Added stress when you're already worried about the surgery itself.
-
Yes. At least now there are places that guarantee the results in 24 hours.
-
Good night, friends.
Got an early birthday present from my friend Carol. It was three books written and illustrated by my friend Hudson Talbott. And he autographed them for me. One was It's All About ME-ow. Another was From Wolf to Woof, about the evolution of wolves to dogs.
-
I've told this story before, but I met Hudson when I lived in Catskill and did a story on him. He had illustrated a book version of Into the Woods. Turns out he and I went to the same high school in Louisville at different times.
I like Audra, but I don’t think she is the second coming.
I do think her Billie Holiday is incredible.
I hope it was a huge success!
-
Well, today was a lovely day.
-
The Washington Center for the Performing Arts just sent out an e-mail that starts with:
IMPORTANT NOTICE EFFECTIVE SEPT 15:
In an effort to provide the highest level of public safety to our audiences, artists, staff and volunteers, entrance to any event at the Washington Center will now require proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or, for those who are not vaccinated, proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time. Staff will check for proof of vaccination and negative COVID PCR tests at the doors as a condition of entry. Masks will also be required for audience members inside the theater, except while actively eating or drinking.
-
It reached 80 degrees here in Puyallup this afternoon.
-
And then a little later in the notice:
This policy is in effect September 15 through December 2021. The Washington Center will be monitoring the situation. This end date is subject to change and will be re-assessed in October.
“This is the ‘new standard’ for admission to performing arts events around the world,” said Executive Director Jill Barnes. “We thank our patrons for their continued support of the arts and the advance masking, proof of vaccination or negative Covid-19 test requirements. We’re all eager to welcome our many patrons and fans back to the magic of live performances.”
-
A little cooler tomorrow.
-
Well, today was a lovely day.
It was nice down here, too. :)
I walked to Red Wagon for lunch.
I had the Barbecue Burger...it was quite good.
