Well, you've read the notes, the note noted that the time flew away, and now it is time for you to post until the flying away cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MELD!
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR Jrand!! :D
-
And a Very Happy Birthday to (former) DR Jose!
-
Loved all the photos from the Kritzerland show! ;D
-
Topic of the Day: I rarely remember my dreams at all, so if I've ever had any recurring dreams, I probably would never have known. :-\
-
Good morning, all!
-
Vibes for a "good" procedure for our DR Jeanne today!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A Very Happy Birthday Wish to our DR Jrand71 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I finally ate around 3:30 yesterday: clam chowder and a sandwich: Virginia ham on rye, with lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, and mayo. It was really wonderful because I was really, really, really (as Thatch would say) starving.
-
I think the doctors must have positioned me strangely during yesterday's event when turning me on my left side. Today my left knee is a bit wonky and in a lot of pain. I hope it does not affect my Post Office trip this morning. I must get the Philly Pops work sent out today.
-
Good morning.
-
I'm so glad to hear that Elmore's and Jane's procedures went well yesterday. Vibes to Jeanne for hers today.
-
Well, here's some good news about a situation that had been worrying me:
Good morning, all.
Wow. Time for another name change, eh?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, to our ever-increasing DR JRAND71 !!
More good pictures in the notes today.
Indeed! I do wish that each photo gave the singer's song title as well.
My neighbor Ann says she will go to the Post Office for me. I wait for her arrival.
TOD:
Recurring Dreams?
I got 'em, baby. First few are the most common.
Fasten your seat belts...
The former workplace -- figuring out how to resume my activities, sometimes having to do so without anyone noticing I've been away. The office setting is always different, and always a fascinating part of the dream.
Waking up on the day it's time to pack and head home from some trip. Getting things together in time is always a major issue. I'm always with a group, sometimes people close to me in real life, sometimes those from long ago school years or job years.
Revisiting a concert hall or a movie theater (a few times, a former church) that I haven't been to in years. It's always a great return, with the place itself being complex and fascinating in its architecture and spaces. Also related: a return to the Institute of Music, revisiting certain corridors and other places of fascination (which weren't necessarily fascinating when I was there).
Finding myself about to music-direct or play in a musical, completely unrehearsed and unprepared.
The House Dream -- it's always different, I'm always rediscovering unused rooms, and it usually involves other people such as current housemates and/or parents or others long dead.
A shopping mall or similar type of large place with corridors and passages that become ever more complex and surreal.
In NYC or another large city, my car isn't where I left it. Sometimes it's my wallet and keys that are missing or stolen.
Losing control of the car, usually at night, sometimes finding I've fallen asleep and I'm somehow lying down in the seat. This takes many forms.
Witnessing an airplane flying low and about to crash nearby, but I'm always safe from the danger, as are the people with me.
I'm on a high cliff or mountainside overlooking the place I'm visiting. The view below becomes ever more distant and dramatic, but without any fear of the height. It's always an attractive area with an interesting shoreline or other water features.
Running toward or away from something, and the physical running itself becomes bogged down in surreal fashion.
Conversely, finding I'm able to launch myself into "flying", of sorts.
And finally, the old finding-oneself-naked-in-public dream. (Has anyone NOT had this one?)
-
I hope DR Jrand71 is in the habit of leaving the Dream-O-Matic turned off and unplugged when not in use.
I'd hate to be the cause of its self-immolation.
-
Elmore, did you ever see this weather report?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXuc7SAyk2s
Do you know this classic Weather report from "The Dick Van Dyke Show" - where the theme song for the weather goes on and on and on, then the actual weather report is 3 seconds - and wrong, too!
I just had dream where BK was waxing wroth that you hadn't made that recounting of dreams at least 8 separate posts.
-
HA....yes thanks to MR BK for the mention in the notes.
I am the new and improved JRAND 71.
-
Good news from DR JANE & DR ELMORE.
-
I am going to check tomorrow to see if I am eligible for a booster since I have a compromised immune system.....but I don't want to get the shot until AFTER/IF the play goes on....but then I have an event on September 28 and a colonoscopy on October 4....so I might wait until after that.....
-
Rehearsal went along last night.....with four people missing....
-
I enjoyed all the photos in the notes.....congrats to MR BK & Co.
Did you have side effects from the second shot like so many people did?
-
My vaccine-giver showed me things to do with the arm the shot went into that looked and felt like a series of comical moves from "The Last Dragon" -
-
I have no clue why I didn't get side effects from shot #2 but can't imagine it had anything to do with those arm moves, though they felt good - But it did take me back to the 1980s and moving to DeBarge's "Rhythm of the Night" and getting The Glow from that movie.
-
I'm guessing those arm moves did stop any swelling, though.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I offered DR Jeanne vibes yesterday, but am late in offering ~~~PRODCEDURE VIBES~~~ to her today on the day.
A VERY VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISH TO OUR VERY OWN DEAR DR Jrand71!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back from my morning hike. It is supposed to be hot here today.
-
I have a recurring dream where I have one required class I need to finish for graduation. I skipped the class for more than a month (which I did with World Geography). I am facing the final, but somehow my desk is behind a pillar, so I can’t see the teacher.
I managed to get a B in geography. I remember sweating that one until grades appeared because one page was a map of Africa and we were expected to label every country.
-
I canceled the AT&T accounts for Mom today. I was only on hold for 2 minutes. And the customer service rep was efficient. Lasted less than 10 minutes. Where was that service when I was a customer? Of course, I do not know what the final bill will be.
-
Thanks Bruce & TCB.
-
DR TCB I hope your appointment this morning went well.
I made a modified Pioneer Woman chicken salad today. She calls for zest and juice of two lemons. I only had one. I think one is ample. I also left out the pine nuts, because I didn’t have time to ransack the freezer, so I used extra peas, which I like. It’s really good
Next time, I might use sour cream instead of mayo or a mix of the two. The lemon and pesto are both so flavorful, the mayo gets a little lost.
Another very warm day. But we do not have rehearsal Fri-Sat-Sun although we have a Bored Meeting on Sun.
-
I shall be on my way in a bit.
With my mask.
I saw an add for a Santa tree ornament and wondered why Santa was tied up while sitting in a chair. Then I saw it was a "Bernie Sanders Mitten Meme Christmas Ornament". The rope was actually a garland with lights on it.
Basically it is like getting a flu shot every year as the flu vaccine is only good for about six months. Since covid does not seem to be seasonal we need boosters as we reach the 6 or 7 month mark. People with autoimmune issues, including cancer patients, need a booster to increase their protection as the vaccine doesn't work as well on them.
-
It is a shame so many unvaccinated people refused to wear masks and let this spread again.
-
Same from us too, so glad Jane and elmore's procedures went well.
And more vibes to Jeanne.
Thursday afternoon greetings! It’s been an eventful day here. A crew arrived before 8 to complete the removal of the front porch. Then this afternoon Zach was here with the initial design for the new patio/steps ensemble that will replace the porch. It will be very different, but so-o-o-o pretty.
Happiest of birthdays to DR JRand!
Nice to see DR Freddie !
So glad to get good reports from DRs Jane and Elmore on yesterday’s procedures!
Hoping for similar news today from DR Jeanne…
Back from storage and Taco Bell and now it's time to choose some damn songs.
For days, I too have been following news on the Nowzad Sanctuary situation, checking their website and facebook page. About an hour ago they posted an update on FB.
Current update:
"We would confirm that Pen, the Nowzad team and the animals are all safe at the moment.
We will let you know of any developments."
It doesn't say where they are, just that they are safe.
We are lucky at least that masks have always been mandatory indoors. And they just decided that kids will unfortunately have to start the year wearing masks in their classes when school starts next week.
Hello, everyone!
-
Thank you so much for all the vibes and good wishes. Most appreciated.
-
I got up early this morning to find the kitchen sink clogged. I contacted the manager, who just returned to work after surgery for a benign brain tumor (!) and asked her to call the plumber. She did so, but I got the usual Blame the Tenant response. I've had more plumbing problems here than at ANY other place I've ever lived, but it must of course be my fault. Brain surgery hasn't changed her attitudes toward others.
The plumber came by shortly after I returned home and snaked the drain. By that time I'd already gotten most of it out using my new old-school method of lots of very hot water. In any case, I now have a functioning kitchen sink.
-
Happy Birthday to Jrand!
I hope you had a wonderful day.
My eyes are still a bit wonky and I feel like I'd like to sleep for a month, so I'll say TTFN.
I'm only at 2 months since my 2nd shot.
By the time you reach 6 months they should have more information to help with the decision making. I am guessing a booster for you would mean Pfizer since that was your second dose.
-
The FDA approved Pfizer is called Comirnaty (koe-mir'-na-tee).
It is a shame so many unvaccinated people refused to wear masks and let this spread again.
We are lucky at least that masks have always been mandatory indoors. And they just decided that kids will unfortunately have to start the year wearing masks in their classes when school starts next week.
I went to Fred Meyer tonight (masked, of course), and I only saw one couple without masks, and one guy who was just walking in had his mask hooked to his ears but the mask part was under his chin. I was leaving, so I didn't see if he moved it to its proper place on his face.
-
Otherwise, I didn't notice anyone else without a mask. :)
Good news from DR JEANNE.
Did MR BK say he went to Taco Bell?
Low energy rehearsal tonight.....but that's okay.....time marches on.
Finished La Piscine. Really liked it, but not enough to watch the English version, filmed at the same time as the French. And I hated the American/Spanish version, which was less creepy than the original.
I’m fading.
At the age of Engelbert’s fans, they will have to ask their caregivers to walk their undies down to the stage.
What else is new?
-
Hi, Tom.
-
DR TCB I hope your appointment this morning went well.
Yes, I guess it did. I really feel the whole pain clinic thing is a bit of a rip. I spend $45.00 for 15 minutes with the PA who then faxes the next to month’s of pain medications to my pharmacy, give them my urine sample to prove that I AM taking opiates, and I am done.
-
Before I was going to my PP, with no co-pay, shoot the breeze for 15 minutes and then he hands me three months of prescription refills.
-
What is wrong with this picture?
Loved the photos in the notes, BK.
