Well, you've read the notes, the notes were blurry, and now it is time for you to post until the blurry cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ADAMANTINE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Today, I'm going on a bit of an adventure. My friend David is coming down from Seattle for a visit, and we're going to a restaurant that he wants to try, but it's even further south in Chehalis, about a half hour from where I live. I don't remember what the restaurant is, but I'll find out soon enough.
-
Off to bed so that I can be awake while I drive us down to Chehalis (I borrowed my niece's newer car).
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
:)
-
Good morning, all!
-
I just received my first rejection. I will spend part of the day making more submissions.
-
Last night I dreamed about my friend Peter Foley, who died last Friday. In the dream, I was working at The Drama Book Shop, and I had taken a week off to be part of a workshop of a show for which Peter had composed the score. My Drama Book Shop friend Kathy Briggs, who now lives in New Zealand, was working on the show as well. My late DBS employer, Arthur Seelen, was also in the dream. At any rate, my last vision of Peter in the dream was at the end of the workshop as I returned to the Book Shop at 48th Street and Seventh Avenue. He was riding a bike as I walked, and I watched him ride away, down Seventh Avenue.
-
DR Jeanne, I don't think you should stop posting. If a DR seems contentious to you, do what I do and block them.
-
DR Jeanne, about proofreading: I finished Julian Fellowes' novel Belgravia last night, and I wonder if he proofread it, someone else did, or didn't care. There are several incomplete sentences - which he does a lot - that left me wondering WTF is he saying, and on one page, the character of Jane Croft is referred to as Ellen Croft. On the other hand, the novel did answer several questions I had after watching the miniseries.
-
I just received a message from the NY State Dept. of Labor: your unemployment is now ended; goodbye, good luck, get out.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sorry about the unemployment, Elmore.
-
Happy Sunday to one and all...I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday weekend! There's a new Broadway Radio Show up on the site for your listening pleasure. It's the 4th Edition of Show Tunes on the Air where we look back at how many people heard show tunes in the 40s, 50s & 60s -- on the radio or LP records. This edition focuses on 3 men who all covered songs from musical theatre...Vic Damone, Johnny Desmond & Billy Eckstine. I hope you enjoy!

Sunday.....no it's Wednesday.....it's ASK BK DAY.
-
There was a sign at a writing workshop giving the title of a session:
Is Editors Necessary?
-
Sorry about the unemployment, Elmore.
Thanks. The Dept of Labor suggests I apply for NYC aid. so I started filling out the application. It asked for my landlord, so I typed in "A.J. Clarke Real Estate Corp." but it won't accept it. The site demands a FIRST NAME! Since I cannot provide that, I can go no further in applying.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Did you get to send in today's claim report before receiving the boot, DR Elmore?
I can't believe their form doesn't allow for landlords being corporations and management companies.
It's NY State, for &#@*'s sake. Are you kidding me?
It doesn't even have to be NY, of course. Many many many landlords across this great land of ours are companies, not individuals.
-
I posted this on the Book of Face, but it deserves to be here.
This morning's repast.
Tiny picture, sorry, and you can't tell from this, but there's close to 6 oz of nova on that thing, and that’s a LOT. And there was no way to eat it that way — one attempt at taking a bite and it would have gone in all directions. I had to rebuild it as two open-face ones.
STUFFED. But oh, so satisfying.

NEWS FLASH!
567 BROADWAY: A NEW MUSICAL WORKOUT
-
Leotard not included.
-
From DR Jeanne:
I won't be posting again for a while. I feel my comments were misconstrued and that some topics carry too much emotion for rational discussion.
DR Jeanne I hope my response respectively & rationally answered your question without condemning it. If not, I apologize. I thought it was a fair question.
-
DR Jeanne I truly believe the comments were directed at my response, not your question.

Yes, and I should get paid on Wednesday because of banks being closed tomorrow. My neighbor Judy insists that she heard we were getting six more weeks of PUA from NY State, but it don't look that way now.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.
-
Sunday.....no it's Wednesday.....it's ASK BK DAY.
That's how blurry my eyes were. Fixed.
-
Even before my shoulder made it necessary for me to switch to reading on a tablet, the print in many books and made them almost impossible to read. The worst offenders were the very light print, then combine that with a small print, impossible.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Page 2!
-
Quite day at hHW!
-
quiet....that is....
-
Four posts on page TWO? Let's fix this thing right now.
-
Back from rehearsal - went very well, played through everything, I did some arrangement things and I'm totally thrilled with the musical director. Robert Yacko recommended her and I've so been wanting to work with a female music director and I just like her energy and ease in terms of working with her. So, if this all goes well, I suspect she'll be doing some Kritzerland shows and maybe even the two musicals I'm doing next year.
-
Stopped at Jersey Mike's on the way home and got a regular size turkey and provolone, and a mini ham and provolone for later.
-
Now I must catch up on stuff.

Another gorgeous day here.
-
Another nice walk.
-
Didn't have to go the church gig this morning, but got some grocery shopping done.
-
A nice salmon fillet and some spinach for dinner.
-
Lots of other things didn't get done.
-
But read a very interesting film review of the forthcoming movie about Diana, princess of Wales.
-
As a result, I watched the same director's 2016 movie about Jacqueline Kennedy.
-
Now, time to do some dishes, and then to bed.
-
Good night, friends.
-
'night
-
In Quebec 80% of those 12 and over are fully vaccinated. But as of Sept 1st those who are not are no longer allowed to go to bars, restaurants, gyms, food courts... And I love it. So happy that those people now have to stay home.
-
Still on page two, eh?
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Perhaps I'll listen to some musique.
-
That's French, you know.
-
Some posts would be nice.
-
Don't you think?
-
I cannot recall the last time we were this low on posts.
-
I mean, it's a holiday weekend and all but this is ridic.
-
Well, page three is here, at least.
-
Barely.
-
And page three is ridic, too.

'Natch, Gloria, 'natch.

Make “AJ Clarke” the first name “real estate Corp” the 2nd name. It’s what I have to do with city forms when filing real estate paperwork for businesses

STUFFED. But oh, so satisfying.
That looks lovely
-
I should have taken a picture of my perfect burger tonight, it was beautiful
-
Medium rare, melted Muenster, sautéed onion, mushroom and roasted red pepper, guacamole on a brioche bun
-
I had to eat it with a knife and fork, it was impossible to hold and bite without making a mess
-
Sooooooooo good
-
I am sorry about your story rejection, Elmore
-
Likewise, I am sorry about the end of unemployment payments
-
Had some vanilla yogurt ice cream - only ate about a quarter of it, but it was good.
-
Listening to music.
-
Being lazy.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I don't think we've ever had enough pictures of food here.
-
Let's do it.
-
I see dear reader Jeanne is going to have to get a BK telephonic call.
-
Why I oughta...
-
I’ve been sorting through things and making boxes to go to the Vixter and boxes to go to Savers
-
I also went to church today where I was the reader of the firs5 lesson
-
For both services
-
We had our first served communion today since March 2020
-
When church reopened we started using self communion kits, little sealed cups of grape juice with a sealed wafer on top
-
Starting today we used pouring chalices…we had a tray of cups at the top of the aisle as as you approached to take communion you took a cup and the assistant filled your cup
-
Then you put your empty into a different tray located at the return aisle
-
So as head ( well I guess currently sole member) of the altar guild there was a lot more cleanup and set up than there used to be
-
I have to see if the previous members of the guild wish to resume their activities
-
Or recruit some new ones
-
I went to church today, too. In Santa Clarita, near Magic Mountain. That's where we rehearsed, since our pianist belongs to the church. Frankly, it's more like a theater than a church.

Wanna join altar guild?
-
I think I'd be a fine addition to altar guild.
-
Excellent news! See ya next Sunday!
-
I had a very boring day going through stuff I’m completely out of things to post
-
We did have a nic3 chat with the Vixter and Vixhubby tonight
-
Currently we’re watching Harold Lloyd
-
WOW!
-
I’ve only seen bits and pieces of his work
-
Never a full scene
-
This was Never Weaken on TMC
-
I went to Mass today with Laurie. There was a small kid in the back near us screaming, “I don’t want to stay here. I want to go home now!”
-
Then we had brunch and really good ice cream.
-
After that, we joined Bill for a trip out into rural Iowa.
-
They grow corn here.
-
Lots and lots of corn.
-
Then we went for a walk along a bike trail that goes over a scenic stretch of the Des Moines River.
-
After that it was Texas-style barbecue and beer. The barbecue wasn’t entirely successful. But the beer was.
-
It was in a town called Luther, Iowa. Perfect for this Lutheran.
-
A few more bar stops filled out the day.
-
We also did a side trip where we saw elk and buffaloes grazing.
-
Beautiful creatures both. Got some nice photos.
-
I have just started a load of laundry.
-
I’ll throw it in the dryer in the morning.
-
Meanwhile, I am writing nonsense to fill up this page.
-
A few more posts to go.
-
Cranberries!
-
Get me off this page!
-
Five!
-
Get me off this page!
-
Good night, all.
-
I have just started a load of laundry.
Oh! Thanks for the reminder! I have stuff in the washer and dryer that needs moving and folding and drying
-
But maybe I’ll do that in the morning too
-
Since it appears to be after 2 am
-
So I guess it is morning
-
Technically
-
Thank you John for getting us to five

DR Jeanne, I don't think you should stop posting. If a DR seems contentious to you, do what I do and block them.
I must be brain dead. I still didn’t find the argument.
-
Today, my friend David came down from Seattle to visit me.
-
He wanted to try a restaurant in Chehalis (about a half hour south of where I live) called McFilers (https://www.mcfilers.net/).
-
So, he gets to my place, then I drive us down to Chehalis.
-
At first, we were thinking about going to a park there and walking around a bit first before going to eat, but the place we get to require a state park permit, and I don't have one.
-

I just don’t think that authors, or publishers, give a damn about proofreading. I read a book a few months ago, written by a well-known author. In one entire chapter, he used a different name for one of the main characters. It was, as if, they took a chapter from an earlier draft and stuck it into the published edition without even reading it.
-
Instead, we decided to walk around the car show that was happening at the Veterans Memorial Museum (http://www.veteransmuseum.org).
-
Medium rare, melted Muenster, sautéed onion, mushroom and roasted red pepper, guacamole on a brioche bun
It would have been tasty if you had bothered to cook it. Sushi burgers are of no interest to me.

I agree!! But I don't like mushrooms. :P
-
TCB, it wasn't even an argument, really. Just a difference of opinion.
-
Walking around the car show, I only saw about five people wearing masks. :-\
-
Who knows why or how people's buttons get pushed. I just pushed my button but my batteries ran out so nothing happened.
-
Here's one car that I thought was pretty cool:
-
And here's another:
-
Never a full scene
As opposed to Chaplin’s half empty scenes?
-
This That last car was my favorite. It was beautiful.
-
After walking around the cars, we went into the museum. It was really cool to see all the memorabilia going all the way back to the revolutionary war.
-
After walking through the museum, we decided to leave the car show and go to the restaurant.

You have a lovely speaking voice. I don’t think I have ever heard you speak before.
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
Thank you John for getting us to five
Thank you both for getting us to five.
-
The museum and car show was on the outskirts of town, and the restaurant wasn't too far away, just on the other side of the freeway.
-
TCB, it wasn't even an argument, really. Just a difference of opinion.
But we have those all the time.
-
This was my favorite. It was beautiful.
There is no picture here!

I think that is where they had the Vietnam Wall traveling edition. That was where my older cousin and J A Jance were signing books.

Sorry, it was the picture that I had posted just before that post, but you posted in between. I should've said "That was my favorite...." I'll go back and change it so that it makes sense. :)

I must be somewhat memorable. My cousin says Judy asks about me every time they get together.

You could take the mushroom off of it.

True, or just order it without the mushrooms. Either way works for me. ;)

-
This is weird! I was going to post a smaller picture of the burgers that David and I had, but I keep getting this message:
Your attachment has failed security checks and cannot be uploaded. Please consult the forum administrator.
Then, I resized it to a larger (but still smaller than the original) size, and it worked. Very strange!

No problem! It happens all the time. :)

I should have taken a picture of my perfect burger tonight, it was beautiful
Both David and I took a picture of our burgers, and here it is:
It looks good, but why do then serve the cheese on the side? Is the place owned by a Jewish family?
-
Nope, the reason I have the plate with the cheese is that David is lactose intolerant, so he had them make his burger with the cheese on the side so that I could put it on my burger. My now three-cheese burger was quite delish!
-
I ordered the Bleu Cheese burger, but then added the cheddar and pepperjack from his order.
-
I forget what kind he had, but included two different kinds of cheeses.
