Well, you've read the notes, the notes were loud and churned, and now it is time for you to post until the loud and churning cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SEROTINAL!
-
That's pretty darned cool about the possible new recording, BK!
-
Topic of the Day: I don't think I've ever seen or read any depiction of Joan of Arc, except maybe listening to the cast recording of Goodtime Charley, which I haven't listened to in years, so I don't even remember what it's like. ::)
-
Off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
TOD:
I bought the Dello Joio when bk first mentioned it some months back, but still haven't listened to it.
A few years ago I saw a live performance of The Passion of Joan of Arc (the silent 1928 film), which has been outfitted with a contemporary choral/orchestral score by Richard Einhorn. The score was released on CD; it's called "Voices of Light." It's pretty amazing.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Oy! What a night!
I went to bed at 8:30 since I had slept so poorly the night before. All was good untril 11:30 or so when something very loud stopped on West 82nd Street. Ny first reaction was that it was a large truck waiting for the light to change and it would soon drive on. Well, it didn't.
-
Then, there were soon sounds of a crew working, and I thought, oh, it's garbage pickup. That will end soon. Well, it didn't.
-
Meanwhile, the cats were getting spooked. It was mighty noisy outside, and they kept coming back to the bed, I assume, for me to protect them or make it stop. Well, this went on while I dozed on and off.
-
I finally decided, it's the scaffold crew. The landlords are supposed to maintain the exteriors of their apartment buildings and scaffolds are erected around a building's facade, They're up for several months while a crew inspects the exterior for loose bricks or tiles and other things needing repair. I cannot remember now when the last one occurred here.
-
Only, this morning there is no scaffold around our building, the noise continues from outside but I cannot see where the source is. The cats are still spooked. I'm just irritated.
-
I plan to spend a bit of this morning at my worktable after kitty cleanup and my trip to the basement. I think I may do laundry tomorrow.
-
DR vixmom, thanks for the belated birthday greeting! I've missed seeing you around these parts.

Good morning, all.

George, I missed your question about Abrams last night. She didn’t really talk about abortion except to say when she ran for hover, she thought long and hard about what she believed in and that’s when she realized she was pro-choice.
-
TOD:
In addition to the titles mentioned is Galt MacDermot’s oddly enjoyable Joan of Arc.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I also forgot Al Carmines' contemporary version of Jeanne la Poucelle.
-
TOD:
In addition to the titles mentioned is Galt MacDermot’s oddly enjoyable Joan of Arc.
That one I don't know, but I'm curious.
-
First rehearsal for Wreck the Halls was last night, second one is tonight, then I'm off till next week.
After three previous runs of this, it's odd to be starting in early fall and actually having to teach someone the music. But this year marks the largest cast change (three out of the six are new), so it isn't just showing up, checking a few pitches, and getting to the staging. Nope, those days are over.

Tuesday morning greetings! Our porch work is proceeding in spite of the rain.
-
Thanks to everyone for the condolences yesterday. They were much appreciated.
No details yet - but I think today we shall find out what arrangements might be made.

STRONG STRONG VIBES for DR GINNY & RICHARD......no words....there are no words......
-
I wanted to do something for Ann's birthday today since she;s cooped up in her apartment, so I ordered slices from three different cakes - carrot, chocolate with chocolate icing, and canilla with vanilla icing - from Magnolia Bakery. They should arrive at her apartment in around 30 minutes.
-
I have never seen the Jean Seberg film, but I would like to
I haven't either.

Thanks, DR JRand.
Oh, there ARE words, but most of them are not suitable for use by a vicar’s wife.
-
DR George I am glad the keychain arrived :)
-
From DR John:
The house was packed and they were ready to applaud, whether she talked about the restrictive new voting laws in Texas or shared stories of her work in the Georgia legislature.
I would liked to have been there.
-
DR TCB I am sorry they lost your covid test. I thought you were avoiding the subject when I asked what your results are.
Do you feel as if you have covid or might this just be a precaution before getting a booster? I expect you qualify for the booster if you want one.

DR Ginny is Richard feeling any better today? Hopefully neither of you feel worse.

DR Ginny is Richard feeling any better today? Hopefully neither of you feel worse.
Richard is better than he was on Saturday. He’s up and about, monitoring the porch work and such. He’s not doing anything strenuous and, of course, we’re not going anywhere. I’m OK - a little nervous about my test tomorrow and my ankle still hurts.
Thanks for asking.
-
Hopefully, you'll be positive!
-
Oh, and I'm up. Was up at seven-thirty, back to sleep at ten, up at one - who knows how many hours - maybe seven.
-
Then I had to catch up with a lot of stuff, then go to the mail place for packages and no important envelopes.

Is this what you meant to say?

Good afternoon.
-
I am trying to figure out how to add my vaccination card to an app on my iPhone. Keith easily put both of our cards on his phone and I really don't go anywhere without him, still it would be nice to have it.
-
I seem to have a good number of apps on my phone I never use. I should close them.
-
I have an iPhone health app with emergency info on it in case I am in the hospital and can't communicate. You would think that app would have a vaccination card option.
-
I think I need an iOS 15.1 upgrade. Maybe I will receive a notification on it soon. I can't always do software upgrades on my little phone.
-
Hopefully, you'll be positive!
Um, that’s not really the objective, BK…
-
:))
-
:)
-
Too soon?
-
I see that Mildred Pierce is available on HBO Max. Perhaps I should check it out.
-
:)
;D
-
I love the add campaign using a fake funeral home to encourage people to vaccinate. I hope it worked.
-
Fading fast.
-
Good night, friends.

I am still watching the extras on Company. I really dislike the zoom gathering to talk about Co-op. Makes me not want to watch Co-op, which people here have spoken negatively about.

Or delete some. I have to delete my internal memory's cache every few days to free up space, but I've been looking at new phones that have more memory. Then I won't have to worry about it for a very long time!

I haven't watched the bonus material yet, but I did enjoy Co-op.

PAGE FOUR COMPANY DANCE!!

-
Dancing was fun tonight.
-
‘night!
-
I didn't really like much of Co-op. I think I smiled once. But it wasn't dreadful. It was just boring. And it wore out its welcome.
Oh, and the first song sounded much more like Alan Menken from Little Shop days than Sondheim.
-
Now listening to Sondheim's commentary.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
We'll announce the two new titles this evening. One page is approved, but the link to test the other page was bad so he has to fix that one.
-
Well, that's enough for me this evening.
-
The weather is finally supposed to break tonight. I hope it does. Today might have reached 100.
-
That makes sleeping hard. And I don't need anything to interrupt that.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
Good night, all.
-
Well, I've requested time off for Monday to meet up with John and Tom. :)

Oh, no. Sex and the City Star Willie Garson Dead at 57 (https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/celebrity/sex-and-the-city-star-willie-garson-dead-at-57/ar-AAOGjEv?ocid=uxbndlbing). :(
-
I never watched Sex and the City, but he was great in White Collar.
-
On Sunday, Tom posted:
There was a rather large African-American man sitting at The Emmys that seemed to be wearing a white off-the-shoulder gown.
Well...Carl Clemons-Hopkins made history at the Emmys by wearing an outfit with the colors of the non-binary flag (https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/emmys/carl-clemons-hopkins-made-history-at-the-emmys-by-wearing-an-outfit-with-the-colors-of-the-non-binary-flag/ar-AAODjP6).

I love that these people think they're being so with it and trendy. Ten years from now these will come back and they'll see just how dopey this all is.
-
Ready to announce as soon as Doug makes the pages live, so that's good.
-
Listening to this other CD of Strauss's Arabella - so much better than the live thing I have - I enjoyed it for what it was, but this one is beautifully recorded with really great singers.
-
I have never seen the Jean Seberg film, but I would like to
I saw her in AIRPORT which is basically the same thing.

No, I don’t think so. I have enough trouble with this C.O.P.D., without having to deal with COVID, too.
-
Oh, and I'm up. Was up at seven-thirty, back to sleep at ten, up at one - who knows how many hours - maybe seven.
I was up at 6:00, and just stayed up.

It was an episode of Documentary Now on the Independent Film Channel that spoofed the Original Cast Album: Company documentary about the recording of the original Broadway cast album of Company.

Seattle has extended the ban on evictions until January 15, 2022.
-
That is just crazy.
-
That is almost two years of no rent being paid by the renters, or paid to the landlords.
-
How are they ever going to correct that nightmare?
-
Can you imagine having to come up with two months of rent at the same time, how would these people ever come up with two years worth of tent?
-

I can't imagine being in that situation...for either the renter or the landlord. :-\

Another fine mess.

Unseemly.

Most.

New notes are up.

In case anyone is interested.

New titles are announced.

They can be ordered anytime, like right now.

Cool!
