You're all staring at my this, aren't you?
DR DANISE, thank you for lovely photos and would like to know what kind of plant the Desert Rose belongs to. Seems to be a sort of cactus, since its own name is “Desert rose” and the leaves look like so. The flower is pretty, isn’t it? :)Thank you, DR Hisaka.
Good morning, DRHisaka! I'm starting to feel chipper again, and today's my attempt to resume my ordinary weekly schedule. I have my fingers crossed/Glad you feel better and will keep my fingers crossed for you too. :)
One of my pet peeves is doing something nice for a stranger, such as holding a door open, without a thank you.
DRLaura & Sandra, was that sweet photo with Scotty or Joshie?
Ron, clear sinus vibes!
Vixmom I hope the Vixter and you are much happier in the new troop. It sounds like a wise decision. How did you get involved in a group so far from home? I’m surprised the troop wasn’t close to the Vixter’s school.
If someone I don’t know well treats me poorly I will either walk away or say something and then walk away. Often I will rant for a few minutes, and that is the end of it. One of my pet peeves is doing something nice for a stranger, such as holding a door open, without a thank you. My response is to loudly say “you’re welcome”. ;D
I have had way too much coffee today.
DRGeorge, there is a glorious song "Someday" in Friml's THE VAGABOND KING. Also, "it says so in the script" is a ME AND JULIET reference ("It's Me" verse).
DR VIXMOM - you made the right choice. Never look back.
LOL DTM! Is there a "Doesn't feel like doing any work today" man?
I am having the dangest time trying to post about TOD. Mostly because I'm extremely angry with two different people right now and it's difficult to follow the way I know these situations should be handled, let alone trying to write about it.
Is it okay if I just act out right now?
Grrrrrrrrrr! GRRRRRRR! GRRRRRRRRR!!!
I got a knife here, and I'm not afraid to use it!!!
GRRRRRRRR!!! GRRRRRRRRRR!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Whew! Now I feel better!
Thanks for listening!
I'm cheering for you Dan (the Man)!

The news in today's local paper:
...
DVD's, Videoa and cellphones be damned.... I want to move to 1950
Thanks, DR Vixmom--I want you around when I break out the bataka bat!
(Not that I mean I want to use it on you! I want you cheering for support! :))
Hitting pillows, using bataka bats, and venting: This technical baloney will make you angry!
For years, catharsis--in particular venting angry feelings through "safe" forms of physical expression--has been a popular and preferred strategy of many therapists. Data has long existed calling such practices as "hitting a pillow," "punching a punching bag," or "hitting something or someone with a bataka bat" into serious question. Now additional research shows that there is no scientific support whatsoever for the catharsis effect. Indeed, acting out anger actually increase a person's hostility! Here's hoping you didn't just buy stock in that bataka bat company!

Mr. V. & I also watched the Dennis Quaid remake of "Flight of the Phoenix"... don't waste your time. rent the James Stewart original instead. The two films were being sold as a two-pack when the remake came out on DVD. Probably not the most inteligent move, to beg an audience to compare the films.
I watched Finding Neverland this weekend and enjoyed it very much. I also have Sideways, the Aviator, Closer, and In Good Company to watch. Oh I still haven't watched The Phantom of The Opera.POTO makes a good coaster, in my opinion.

Sensible bathing suits. It is to laugh.
I like the beach, though. But I want a beach with plenty of shade and not too much sand, and not too close to the water.

New York celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, not known for mincing words, was both blunt and sharp-tongued.
"This is yet another sign of the coming apocalypse," he told the Times. "Where there is no risk, there is no pleasure."
Hee hee I do that too, Or if a stranger pushes or bangs into me without a word I have been know to say "The phrase you're looking for is "exuse me' "
...And in the ADULT news, a guy in WFO's town, the next town from me, beat up his wife and then chained her in the basement with his leopards!!!I need to clean my glasses. I thought you wrote leotards!!!
Recently in Cape May, NJ, they lifted a ban on men wearing tight fitting speedoes on the beach. Methinks that the town council in Cape May has not taken a good enough look at the physiques of the men who tend to seashore there.Cape May, which is a quick ferry ride across from Lewes, DE, which is the next town up the shore from Rehoboth Beach, DE.
At any rate, they usually cast out of NYC, which is all well and good. And they have several "regulars," especially for the musicals. These are people who are just this side of actual stardom, but certainly have reputations in the business. Well, one of our "regulars" has returned, essaying the role of Cassie. This is a twice Tony-nominated actress. Vocally, she was fine, if not stellar. Acting-wise, she was fine. Just one problem: She can't dance (an ersatz FOLLIES reference).
Oh, she can "move." She could get by in her Tony nominated roles. But she is ill-equipped to tackle "Music and the Mirror." (And was huffing and puffing through the rest of the scene that follows her number.)
Well once you bought 'em they already had your money!! LOLNow she tells us.
LOL DRVIXMOM...maybe it's just PICTURES of the beach I enjoy.just for you!!!
So...who is the actress??
My reaction to being treated contumely depends entirely on the circumstances and personnel involved. I'd be willing to give a real friend a little slack.
However, I have to admit that though I don't got for redress, I also never forget and if the slight is serious enough, I never trust that person again, never put myself in a position where he can hurt me again. Oh, I won't make any outward show of disgust or mistrust, but I know in my heart that the person is the dregs and I wouldn't lift a finger to help him ever.
This weekend we watched "National Treasure" which we all quite enjoyed. We rented it at the request of the Vixter and found it to be fun and profanity-free. I don't know that it was "great movie making" but we all thoroughly enjoyed it and regretted that we didn't see it on the "big screen"
(maybe we could drop by MattH's and use his set !) ;D
I need to clean my glasses. I thought you wrote leotards!!!
::)
;D
And then across the street to the 7-11 where I purchases tonight's winning MegaMillions lottery ticket!
:)
I also tend to hold thing in, and I never forget a slight. I can get past things, but I rarely forget. A major aspect of my character is calm, so people come to expect it from me, which is cool. The downside of it is, if I show a little anger, people react as if I've hurled chairs across the room. It seems unfair, because other people can get away with more outward anger because people are used to it from them.
I also have a habit of writing folks off if they really wrong me. They'll just never hear from me again.

Crap! I sent all the correct answers to the Unseemly Trivia Contest Saturday night and I was aghast when I did not see my name amongst the winners this morning. I was about to demand--demand, I tell you!--an apology.
However, I just double checked to see that I sent it out to the correct address and found that I had left off the ".com". So when the e-mail did bounce back, I gave it no thought since BK said that that might happen.
Grrrrr. Stupid cut and paste! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
As for the TOD, in the business a lot of us are in, people seem to hold grudges for quite a long time and usually we find that we can get along quite well without those people. Personally, I like to mend all fences and bridges at some point in my life, or try to anyway. There is one actor, however, who lied to me when auditioning for a show and he got in. I had asked if anyone at the callback could read music, and he raised his hand. At one point in the rehearsal process, he wasn't getting his harmony and I told him to go home and plunk it out on the piano. He then told me that he couldn't because he didn't read music. I'll never cast him again. But the bottom line, I always try to mend fences and make things right.
Going back to what I said about the final episode of Lost. She took the baby boy because she believe that was the boy they were talking about and was perplexed why the people behind the voices were not at the fire.
T.O.D.:
I don't believe in revenge or vendettas, and I certainly would never hold a grudge forever. I think the longest I have ever held a grudge is 33 years. So, you see, I did finally get over it.
After she gave you a B in choir? You sure are a forgiving son.
Here is the side view of my beloved Seville Theater. I must have gone to this theater the most over the years and now look at it. The Sound of Music played there for over three years.
All that is left out it is a shell, :'(
Dan you are so close to NY. Will we see you in October?
I feel like I somehow stumbled into Dr. Jose's diary.
:D

Hey, don't forget that BK married you and I in holy matrimony! That means I get half!
...On the way back up from Richmond this afternoon, I decided to stop for gas off the Ladysmith exit on I-95. This is the exit where two gas stations across the street from each other have been having a price war of sorts. Each of them lowering their prices penny by penny when "challenged" by the other station.
Both stations had the same price per gallon, so I'm guessing some sort of truce was called. Or that they both just couldn't afford to continue offering gas below their own cost. In any case... I was able to fill my tank up for less the $20.00. The price for a gallon of Regular was down to $1.92!
*I also noticed that one of the "off-brand" gasoline stations was actually down to $1.83!! Of course, by the time I noticed that price on their billboard, it was too late to make that exit. Ah, well... I still got a pretty good deal.
:)
Any words of wisdom about tonight's proceedings, oh son of mine?
